I called your loyalty people because again some of the specials had expired, I was told my bill would be $258.00, but we took out some of the movie stations, i go online the middle of October and sign up to get the other movie station, my bill goes up to $265.00 but the stations keep telling me that I need a subscription to watch them. I had to go out of town for a couple of weeks so couldn't check on it, when I got back it was the same, i called last night and all i get is that nothing was added. so why did the bill go up. i am so tire of never getting the same story and everything can be fixed we just need to add more money every time. i am going to tell you this now, i will be cancelling my account by the end of the month and will get something else. i know my one account doesn't mean anything to you.

I would like to complain about your technical support representative John H. He did the chat support around 3:00 PM Pacific time on Nov 2, 2018. I came to him because my Email was not going out via Windows Live Mail. I told him I suspected the problem was in the settings in properties for the account, but he reset the modem and then sent me links to pages on how to delete my old account and set up a new one. This could have wiped out all my mail. This should be a common problem, for which he can just check my settings. After I expressed that I was not happy he told me contact Microsoft. I then asked for his employee number three times, for which he refused to provide and then hung up on me. I have saved a transcript of our conversation, if you care to see it.

telephone service
On October 4, 2018 our Cox telephone service was abruptly and unexpectedly cut off. I called the next day to ask that it be restored. As it was going to be 4 days before a service person could come out, I decided to end our landline service permanently. Your billing office acted very promptly and appropriately to stop billing us for phone service. However, after a few days our phone service was unexpectedly restored. I knew this because I kept calling our number to see if the "this phone is no longer in service" message would come up. It did not. Instead, the phone just rang and rang. I don't like this because it makes callers think that we are just not answering our phone. So I plugged our phone answering machine back on the line and recorded a simple message saying, "This Number is no longer in service."
As a former customer of Northwestern Bell in Iowa and later Qwest and later Centurylink, my experience has always been that the phone company employs a message when a number has been discontinued. I assumed that Cox Communications would do that. If it is your practice to leave a line connected and a phone number active until a new customer is assigned to that number, I must protest. Please disconnect this line and apply an appropriate notification to the caller. I have talked to service representatives 3 times to get this done, and it never works, so I am notifying corporate headquarters. I don't know what else to do other than contact our Arizona utilities authority. Thank you.

We have been experiencing technical difficulties with our phone line for roughly three (3) weeks now. We have contacted Cox on numerous occasions and the issue has not been resolved. On October 17 and October 18 we went the whole day without service. Our lines had no dial tone, we could not make or receive calls.
A few days after that, the phones in our office were not receiving calls once again. We once again reached out to Cox, all they did was "reset" the modem and said that the issue was fixed, but it was not.
On Monday October 29, we noticed that our office was only able to receive calls from certain carriers. We once again reached out to Cox and we were finally able to get a technician out.
Cecil, the technician, came out to our office on October 30. The issue was still not resolved. We were told that AT&T has a nationwide outage and cannot call Cox. No time-frame was given as to when this issue would be resolved.
This is completely unacceptable. We have been rerouting the calls to our employee's cell phones. There is no reason why the office staff should have to use their personal cellular device to communicate with our clients when we have been a valued dedicated customer with Cox.
We respectfully ask that action is taken to resolve this issue at hand and to provide us with credit for the days that our office has not had service.

first time internet and tv service installment
If I could give cox zero stars I would. We are first time customers and were at our new home for the installation. Got a message saying a technician was coming out. Two hours later still no technician. When we called it turns out our technician could not get into our building and instead of calling just left.
When we lodged a complaint they dropped our call and did not call back. Had to call back again and the rep said he put us on an urgent call and they would call us tomorrow.
We were misinformed and no one did nor was it an urgent call list, rather a list if someone cancels their service. Wish Verizon serviced our area. I hate cox and might as well have an automated customer service machine. Don't use them if you have the option.

Dealing with Cox Communication I've been put through so much back and forth with customer service sales and billing I really feel that they were not adequately attending my needs and I feel that they should accommodate me for my hassle. They sent me back and forth with sales and billing not attending my hands I feel that that is not the way Cox should do business and still waiting on my payment till this day need some type of Justice

rewards visa card still not received, promised as part of signing 2 yr contract
I moved in to a home recently and compared services for internet and cable tv. The rewards Visa card was the agreement for signing on for a 2 yr contract .. it was the reason for choosing cox communications. The reward was due to me in July, still I have not received this and I have been dealing with the inconvenience of calling twice a week since July and speaking with a different person each time just to hear it is not their department to deal with. I am deeply disappointed and totally regret my decision for choosing cox, after friends and family suggested I choose a different provider. Now I hear "I told you so" and cannot dispute it. It's sad .. I pay my bill on time and have to stand by the contract .. question is what if I broke the contract .. what would the penalty be? .. What if I did not pay my bill on time? Well cox broke their end of the contract by NOT honoring the agreement.
Also .. how can you make this right you ask? Well finally receiving my card is not making the inconvenience and frustration enough as it was due to me in July, today is Oct. 19, 2018 .I have no respect for this company. I deserve to receive 6 mos of no payment on top of my card for this ... every person I've dealt with on the phone had no clue how to handle my inquiry. What kind of customer service is this? I'm not sure if this is even going to get me anywhere as one of recent calls I was told I would receive a call back because of my frustration with just getting through to a "customer service" person who cannot help.

Cox communications is a fraud con artist company! They are actively engaging in false advertising and throttling! I pay for 100Mbps why the hell am I barely getting between 1-2 mbps!? Why does my internet get throttled at night for no reason!? I haven't even used 10% of my data cap! Everyone needs to contact your attorney general and file a compliant! This company should not be in business! I am shocked at the business practices of this ISP! Cox communications is the WORST ISP in the country! I am a ATT U verse customer and have not had Cox for years. I just got my credit report and you have sent $1195 to Experian as turned for collection. I have NEVER gotten a bill from Cox nor a bill from Convergent and I am furious. My wife had someone try and open an account with Cox in her name, Victoria and we put a freeze on our credit accounts. I want this cleared up quickly, and written evidence it has been taken care of.
This happened to me. I sent this letter to convergent. After a week, I got a letter from convergent saying was solved and I never heard from again.

It is a simple case of corporate incompetence yet they insist on calling it "fraud" and want me to visit the local police station - who will likely be as confused and annoyed as I am.

When we moved to Oklahoma a few months ago we called cox to compare prices and was lied to about who else was available in my area. The lady on the phone told me several times that they were the only internet provider in our area. Luckily my husband knew that att covered pretty much everywhere and he was correct. There is at least 2 others that offer internet in our area and despite the price difference, because I was lied to, I never would choose Cox cable. How dare they take advantage of people's ignorance to a new area. I wonder how many have been tricked into choosing them? Absolutely disgusting practice.
my new connection - promised one rate and billed higher rate
On 10/4, I was chatting with an Cox representative and i was asking about a new connection with Internet and TV, I also mentioned that i cannot afford more than $100. The representative gave me a plan that she/he said will be around $108 including taxes, i asked specifically that is $108 inclusive of all taxes and i got an answer as yes.
Based on that i placed the order on 10/4 for the recommended package.
When i reviewed the generated bill on 10/12, i was shocked that it was $132, when i called the COX phone support they said the plan cost is $108 and inclusive of taxes it comes to $132. I explained them i was promised by the chat agent that the cost wont will be $108, they pointed out that they dont have any records with them as a proof on what i was claiming, they also suggested me to get back to chat and get it clarified, top most customer service here. No one really cared on what i am trying to say.
I tied to chat again with the COX Live chat representative and even the supervisor, they denied as well and mentioned they do not have any record about my chat on 10/4. I wonder how come the sales chat details about a new connection vanished without any trace, now i am forced to pay $132 as i am stuck into a 2 yr contract they cant even cancel the plan and if i ask them to cancel and create a new plan, i am forced to pay the contract breakage free. How ridiculous is it.. I am totally fed up.

Hey, they offered me a two year discount agreement that suddenly ended one year in. I was told that it was impossible to give me what I was assured I would get, but that they could downgrade my service and get me on some promotional plan that would still raise my rate $45 a month. Thank you, but after 25 years, it's time for a change.
I recently go the bait and switch from Cox Internet. First they raised my Internet billing for 50Mbps download from $79.99 to $83.99 without warning. I went out to their website and saw that they were offering what appeared to be a great PROMO deal to preferred existing customers. They were offering 300Mbps download for $45.99 per month and stating it was a 57% discount from their regular price. They spelled out all of the terms IE 12 months $45.99, then $69.99 for next 12 months, and finally $104.99 for month 25 and beyond. This doesn't include the equipment rental or the activation fee. When you click the upgrade button, it took me to a deal for $79.99 per month. I chatted with the Cox rep online and she told me it was a website error. I tried to explain that there was explicit details, terms and pricing plans documented. She kept insisting it was a website error. I told her it was false advertising. I called up Cox on the phone and told them I wanted the $45.95 deal, but they told me that it wasn't available for my address. I told him that it was an offer for my exact address and he asked me to click the button to see where it took me. I told him already did that and it takes me to a $79.99 offer. He said that was because the $45.99 was not good for my address. I told him, NO, that's the way Cox programmed it! He said the best he could do was a $69.99 offer with a 24-month agreement. So, I start off with $79.99 with no monthly contract, to $83.99 with no monthly contract without notice. Then I see the non-existent $45.95 deal and eventually get offered a deal for $69.99 for 24 months which at the end becomes $104.99. And don't forget, they will try to rope you into the new equipment and the $10 per month service agreement. Totally FALSE ADVERTISING and BAIT & SWITCH tactics. I have been a loyal Cox customer for 30 years and they try to pull this on me. SHAME ON YOU COX! Everyone please report your bad experience with Cox bait and switch and false advertising to the FTC. It's about time these guys start paying hefty fines for their dubious business practices!

Cox internet has consistently been an issue since we purchased it. We have to restart our modem at least once a week, sometimes once a day. The speed in which we purchased is never what we get. The answer they have us for that is, they cannot guarantee speed once it leaves the modem. Now, they have had a 48 hour outage that seems to extend itself all day. Their notifications of a time update seem to have no thought process involved when giving an estimate other than add a few hours, change it closer then extend it until midnight the next day. Cox internet is the worst company I have had service from.

did not get promised service and now they messed up my bill
I first started with cox 8-31-2018. Told I would have the cox contour gold duo package for 109.99 per month plus taxes and fees. I did not get that when they hooked it up. They also charged me for installation when it was supposed to be free with my bundle. I went to the resolution store and they said I was missing the phone portion and that negated the bundle. I told them I did not want the phone equipment. Just the duo package. They said I needed the phone portion to get the lower billing and the channels I originally asked for. I went to check my account, and the bill had gone up to over 308.00 from 130.00. I called and was told the resolution store could not get that fixed and I should have called them. I told them the issue and the woman submitted a form (because she was not allowed to fix it because it was a promotional bundle for a new customer) and told me wait 2-5 business days. It would be corrected. I checked over a week later and my bill went to $500.34! I called again and was told the first woman submitted the wrong codes. The next woman submitted it again with supposedly the correct codes and after waiting again my bill is now $373.00 and some change! I went on chat and was told the resolution department had not taken all that off and put the bundle back on and I had to wait another 2-5 business days! I totally disgusted with cox and have only been with them for a month! Cox has proven they are inept and care nothing about the customer. I wanted comcast (had that where I came from) and was told by comcast they had a deal with cox that they would not go into certain areas if cox was there (seems like a monopoly to me since not everyone likes satelite tv). I will also be filing a complaint with bbb, lfa, and the fcc. If I could give cox a 0 star rating I would.

Very upset with #cox communication. They update their system and not able to deactivate call waiting on my line. Which I didnt have since I got the service in january, offered me to downgrade to simple line which will increase my bill by $200. No other option. Im not able to work until this issue is resolve. Internet services:
Received a new modem for faster internet service, instead, all communications are down. A service technician came on Sunday and it worked for 24 hours. Got another appointment scheduled on the following Tuesday from 1-3 yet when I called to confirm the appointment, the service representative hung up on me. Wish that I got her name.
No phone calls to let me know when they would arrive!
I am disappointed in the manners that it was handled. Being a customer for over a decade, no matter what my family complain about the speed of the internet, I stuck it out. But I am going to rethink my decision.
Lost a full day of work! No TV. No internet for 2 days. We were forced to go to the library and Starbucks to work remote.
Super frustrating! Need alternative!
The in store technician and technicians were both great.
fox news blackouts
I live in Sun Valley, ID. Cox cable TV continually blocks both Fox News channel and Fox business news channel. CNN? It is never blocked. Virtually all other channels are airing...while Fox News is "temporarily' off the air. This is not only illegal since I pay for this channel's coverage...but unethical and pretty typical of media organizational bias against a conservative viewpoint. I'm getting fed up with this. It's been going on for weeks now. Sat Tv is walkways an option if this continues. Also a written complaint will be issued to the FCC.

I have been a cox customer for a little over 2 years and when I recently moved into my house around 5 months ago one of the sports channels wasn't working that I pay for. I have called LITERALLY 1-2 times a week for the last 5 months and the problem still isn't fixed. We had a tech come out last week to find out that there is a wiring problem outside and they are supposed to come out and fix it... guess what... called today and they won't have any "answer" until Thursday. Why do I pay for an expensive cable package when I can't watch all the channels... I am so done with cox..

I called Cox two times today to inquire about my billing statement and amount owed because it wasn't correct or what I was originally quoted. The technician in billing kept subtracting and adding all these numbers and eventually said he was confused on the amount owed. I asked to be transferred to the loyalty department because I thought they would be able to assist with this issue and this woman also couldn't figure out why the amount was the amount shown on the billing statement. She offered to send me back to billing but I told her I had already wasted 40minutes on the phone with them and thought she would be able to better assist me. I told her do not send me back to billing because it will be a waste of my time. I just wanted verification on my charges before I made a payment and no one was able to give me reasoning behind the increased amount of my current bill. I feel this is unacceptable.

improper billing
On June 28, 2018 I moved from one address to another and asked that Cox Cable move my service. The account for the old address was to be closed an a new account for the new address was to be opened. I set my account up on autopay, Since then I have received the following bills and made the following payments:
Payment 6/28: $204.54
Bill: 7/2-8/1 - $272.45
Payment 7/27: $204.54
Bill: 8/2-9/2 - $354.94
There was a $50 credit shown on this bill from July 21
Payment 8/8: $222.00
Bill 9/2-10/1 - $212.20
Payment 9/28: $567.59
As you can tell, I have been billed $839.59 but have made a total of $1, 198.67 in payments.
When the August 2nd bill posted it said my account was past due by $222.00. I immediately went and posted a payment in that amount. It never showed any prior payments posted. I contacted Cox Cable about this via phone and was told the old account did not close and payments were posting to it showing it as having credit, while the new account then showed as being overdue. I was told the issue would be corrected. The same issue then occurred again. I first initiated a text conversation where I was told I was wrong and would not be billed the fill amount because the credits would be moved from the old account to the new. I then called in and was told the old account was never closed, the paperwork to do so was never submitted. That lady said she would do it and I would only be billed $11.00. I trusted this, however my account was billed the fill amount of $567.59. I contacted Cox again. The said the account just closed. They would refund me $278.83. They have not/will not address the late fees I was wrongly charged or where the other amount is. I overpaid them $359.08 but they are only willing to refund me $278.83.
