I paid off my car on December 14, 2024.
I called the customer service line on December 23, 2024, to make sure that the title to my car would be mailed to me and that a scheduled payment would not be made on December 30, 2024. The representative told me that the payment would not be made on that date due to my account being paid and closed on December 14, 2024.
On December 30, 2024, I woke up to a notification that the payment went through despite what the representative told me. I was charged the ACI credit card fee, $3.75, in addition to the scheduled payment, $276.67. I immediately called and another representative told me that the overpayment would be mailed to me 10 to 15 days after account closure.
My account was closed on December 14, 2024, but it is re-opened today, December 31, 2024, with debt, $2.78, to no fault of mine.
Today, December 31, 2024, I logged in to check on the status of my account and view the transaction history. My account states that I, now, owe $2.78 after a series of unjustified interest charge reversals and direct payment reversals. My overpayment refund of $276.67 became reduced to a credit refund that got buried in a myriad of transactions.
Then, I checked my banking checking account and discovered that the $276.67 returned to me, but the transaction was stopped or reversed. I should not have to pay the ACI credit card fee of $3.75 which totals my involuntary losses to $280.42.
I have done everything that I am supposed to do. As this series of events has caused undue pain and suffering as well as undue financial stress, I want my money returned to me so I can pay the rest of my bills on time. I have evidence of my transaction history and call log prior to and on the day of Tuesday, December 31, 2024.
Claimed loss: $280.42
Desired outcome: I want my $280.42 refunded directly to the debit card that was charged on December 30, 2024. I want the title of my car immediately mailed to me. If possible, I would like a copy of the title emailed to me, too.
