Membership and customer service
Crunch Acworth - I signed up for a trial two months of personal training. Two of my eight sessions in I realized I did not have time for it, so I told my trainer to cancel my contract at the end of the two months, and she told me she would. However, my card continued to be charged $164 every two weeks. I contacted the gym and was told to talk to manager Kevin Perez. He said we'll take care of it next time you're in. I was out of the country and could not come in for another couple weeks - meanwhile, my card continued to be charged. By this point, I had received 4 additional charges of $164. When I came in, Kevin Perez said that because the trainer had not had me sign anything to cancel, he would not refund me anything, even though he acknowledged that I did actually cancel, because it is "policy." Even though I kept my inner Karen in check, he was rude and refused to help and told me don't bother to ask anyone above him, because it's policy and they're not giving me my money back since I didn't sign anything to cancel (even though they never asked me to). I'm quitting the entire gym because of this. He should be fired.
Desired outcome: I want all of my money back. This left such a bad taste in my mouth that I didn't even end up using the sessions I agreed to pay for, and I'm never going back to the gym, so I've basically paid them thousands of dollars now for nothing.
Coaching sessions
I have cancelled membership and ended all coaching sessions with Lake Nona, Crunch Fitness location on Narcoossee Road on November 2022. Ever since then, Crunch Fitness has fraudulently charged my card every two weeks for 114 US dollars. Refund is required for all incorrect charges since November 2022.
I have already spoken with an associate at the location this evening. Said associate has advised me to call the staff in charge of coaching and gave me two name to call. Update coming soon.

Desired outcome: Full Refund
Update: the refund has gone through.
Update: I have been informed that the refund has been approved and is forthcoming within the next 5-7 business days.
Unauthorized charges by Crunch (Acworth, GA)
My 19 year old daughter told a trainer at Crunch in Acworth, GA (the trainer is Budour) that I should be signed up for their Kick Off session. Well without consulting with me and talking to me about it, Budour took it upon herself to sign me up. I got the notification and didn't think anything of it - I would go ahead and attend. Then several days later, I...

I had a membership at Crunch Fitness this summer for a few
months. I called and cancelled my membership on the phone in
August, paid the last amount, even paid the $60 yearly free, yet
they still charged my credit card for future AFTER I called multiple
times to cancel services. After charging me an extra 3 months
after I canceled the service, my credit card company disputed the
charges, and I got a new card. Now I have been getting phone
calls every day stating that I owe money. I will show my credit
card bills if needed showing that I paid Crunch what I owe and I
want to be finished doing business with them. This issue has not
been settled since August and they need to stop contacting me. I
know a few people who have quit from working at Crunch
because they are tired of these unethical practices. All I want is to
have nothing to do with this company again. Thank you.
Desired outcome: Stop contacting me.
Billing and Harassment
I joined Crunch Fall River in 2019. I hired a trainer and agree to only do 4-sessions at a higher rate. We exchanged messages via text that I kept. These messages stated that I would not want the discount or a recurring service. I was billed $180 for 3-months consecutively on top of my membership. I had to fight tooth and nail to have this reversed. I signed up at Crunch Swansea and when a local person mentioned the same issues I mentioned my experience with billing issues. Two of the instructors from CRUNCH SWANSEA, Tonya (last name-group ex coordinator) and Crystal Dutra commented and harassed me. I deleted my post for fear of backlash. I am now uncomfortable attending this gym. They are creating a hostile environment. All I did was mention my billing issue from the location that they all LEFT in order to open Crunch Swansea. These staff members have also spent the last two months talking badly about Crunch Fall River. I am concerned about my welfare.
Desired outcome: I do not want my name mentioned to these people. I removed my comment which deleted theirs. Now I am receiving nasty comments and messages from fake accounts.
Cancel Personal Training because of health conditions
To Whom it May Concern,
I would like to request cancellation of my training membership. The reason being is that my wife has chronic knee pain which has gotten worse with exercise. I don’t want her condition to get worse and therefore it would be best to cancel the membership. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

Sent to collections
Crunch fitness closed during Covid. Naturally I tried to cancel my membership, but as they were closed there was no way to get a hold of them except to try to contact them through their website. I sent them a message to tell them to cancel my membership but they never responded. After a few charges I had enough and put a stop order on the charges at my bank. Now they have sent me to collections. Despicable.

Friday, 02-03-2023 I am a member of Crunch, 5508 Peachtree Blvd, Chamblee, GA 30341. Out of 10 TVs facing treadmills, 4 to 5 TVs have same sports channel on. No TV has news channel, like CNN, why? Many times, I asked to change one TV to news channel, the staff refused to do that. TVs # 1, 3, 4, 5 have no volume and can’t listen by plugging headphone into...

My husband is military and we just PCS'd to a new location. We decided once we got settled and at the beginning of the new year we would both sign up for gym memberships. I was also interested in getting a personal trainer. I did the free intro session with the PT manager and she recommended that I do 2 sessions a week for $130. My husband and I both asked...
Read full review of Crunch FitnessCanceled service and still charged
I cancelled my membership in November and was told I missed the cutoff by a couple days so I have to make the next payment, and that I still have membership until December 20th. Sine then my account was charged twice for a total of $60. I have called the local Normal Illinois gym twice now and I keep getting told the manager is not there and he can call me sometime if I want a callback.
Desired outcome: I need my money refunded immediately.
Personal training
My name is Arlene Fabien-Agreement #[protected]
In September of 2022, I signed up for a personal fitness training program at your Crown Heights location.
I met with the then fitness manager and was verbally given the outline of the contract (I was never given a written nor an e-copy, although I have requested one).
My understanding was that my workout sessions would be 2 30-minute sessions per week at the cost of $260.25/month, with staying in the program for a minimum of 2 months.
After 1–2 weeks, I was unable to schedule sessions because the trainer was unable to work with my schedule. There was also a disconnect in communication, as I would rarely get timely responses through text.
After 3 months, I had worked-out for a maximum of 2 sessions and had 24 unused sessions.
I made a complaint at that location and asked to have my contract cancelled. I was told that I would have to pay for an extra month, to which I agreed, in the hope that I would get to use up the sessions in backlog before paying for the extra month. I was then re-assigned a new trainer who was able to work with my times, but then a hold/block was put on my account for a balance in arrears.
This is clearly a breach of contract. If one paid for a service and was unable to receive that service, why would one want to pay in advance before a bill becomes due?
Then recently I got a call from a new fitness manager saying that my contract was not cancelled, and I have an outstanding balance of $520.50... this is ludicrous. I am beginning to think that this looks a lot like extortion.
I have also been paying for a monthly membership which is also affected because of this o/s balance although I was told that the fitness training and the monthly membership are 2 separate entities.
Desired outcome: Would like to have a refund for all my unused sessions and removal of the o/s balance on the account.

Read full review of Crunch FitnessRE: Training manager "Tanya" and General manager at Bensonhurst Crunch Fitness...
Dear Crunch Management,
I'm a valued customer of Crunch Fitness at the Bensonhurst location.
I talked to Bruce (the general manager) and Tanya (the training manager) about my situation with the training classes I purchased for three months. I explained that I would be traveling a lot and miss many lessons. Bruce said that he would reimburse me for a month of training, so I have been waiting to hear from him for the next three weeks. I talked to Tanya (the training manager), who said I attended all my training classes with my trainer. Without listening to what I had to say, Tanya said I did not miss any training with Roger Collins. With an attitude, she said that everything was good and that there was no further conversation about this. Then she walked away and ignored me. REALLY! I am disgusted and cannot believe that Crunch Fitness has a Training Manager talking with no respect or care for the valued client's feelings. As per the client of Crunch fitness, I will finish my time and leave with all my friends that I brought to this terrible management environment.
Desired outcome: I need an apology from the training Manger and the general manager for the delay and the respect.Plus, I need the one-month reimbursement as per the conversation with the general manager as verbally expressed.
Cancellation of policy
The North Brownsville tx crunch super rude not helpful at all.I have paid them all the pandemic and fell on hard times and they refuse to cancel got 3 months behind and the threatened to keep charging me and refuse to cancel the account refuse to do anything they are being extremely rude and charging yearly fees why it's wrong to charge that . She says they send a agreement when you sign up that is a complete lie they never tell you about any of this when you sign up at all I am willing to pay the 3 months but nothing else
Desired outcome: I would like the yearly fee waived and I will pay gym fees only for 3 months and no late fees
Managment
This in regards to crunch at the meadowood mall in Reno, NV.
I have multiple complains to make, they are as follows:
1. Today I had a person (someone I believe is friends with the workers) take my items out of my locker, throw them into some random persons locker, then stole the locker I originally had, and put a lock on it. I went to the manager to call the person to the front, and confront them. I was hoping the manager would tell them that its not ok to do that, but was told "too bad. If I dont have a lock, it my fault". Even though the person was still in the gym, they refused to try and figure out who it was (most likley cause they are friends with the person). By the managers logic, I can come into the gym and take anyones stuff from any locker (thats not locked), and do whatever I want with their stuff. I clearly know now that management wont do anything about it, so why not? Ill make sure to get my favorite locker every time, and just toss any random person stuff to the floor if they even think of using my locker. Its apparently ok to do this at this gym? All I know, if it happens again, ill wait to find out who it was myself. If I do that, Im not going to be very friendly. Crazy to think conflict like this could be avoided if the gym management actually cared, but instead they just created a vigilante. Good job!
2. The management is getting rude, and have been forming huge egos because "they compete". Workers like chealse, ralf, and a couple others have been getting seriously standoff-ish and rude over the past couple months. They have the attitude, "I compete so im better than you". For some of the males, I truly believe they are getting roided out (which ive over heard conversation about this), and its causing them to act in this unacceptable manner. Its crazy to me when I see 17-20 year old basic workers act more respectful than the grown a** managers. Sad when people are put into leadership positions, when they act like they should be in the drive thru of a McDonald's. I have 10+ friends (who are serious gym goers) who have all agreed that this issue is getting out of hand.
3. This gym is absolutely falling apart. Who is in charge of taking care of the equipment? Its horrific how bad its been getting. For any least 6 months, we have had multiple machines broken, rips in almost every seat, and attachments that should clearly be thrown away and replaced. There are signs on literally every piece of equipment that says "is being repaired, use caution" but nothing has been fixed in almost 6 months? Its starting to get embarrassing how bad this gym is falling apart. Ive always went to cruch, in every city that ive lived (4 different citys), and this has been the worst experience ive ever had.
I love crunch, and ive never considered switching gyms until I spent some time here. Just seems like noone cares, like management is to good to be there, like fixing equipment is to much of a hastle, and caring about members personal items is just not allowed. I'd like to hear back from someone and further discuss these issues, otherwise ill just make sure to disrespect every person without a lock on their locker, and reciprocate the treatment the management provides.
Desired outcome: Management needs talked to about their attitudes, equipment needs fixed, and a procedure needs to be implemented for when someone thinks they own the gym and disrespecting other peoples property.
Membership, customer service and additional charges
Crunch Fitness in Acworth, GA is misleading customers. They sign you up with $1 for the first month, but don't tell you about a yearly fee. After having visited 2x we realized it is not a fit. We asked to cancel our membership, but went into a never ending circle. You arrive, they listen to for second sit you down and they ping-pong with each other before they talk to you (45-60 min). While they are greeting others, doing tours, looking at good looking gals etc.. The manager is never there, there is no corporate phone number or escalation point. They gave finally a general email address to submit out complaint. The net net is. After 2x we decided not staying, they charged us 3 month of service and a yearly fee, which is excessive. They claim they submit a cancellation but it will be rejected by corporate. (it is still pending cancellation!) But when you move away they make an exception. hm... We set up a session to discuss plan, that we cancelled, and still got charged $10. When I tell them it's too much what they do, they just not willing to work with you. It is impossible to find someone that can make a decision or resolve our dispute. Terrible customer service!
Desired outcome: refund and cancel membership and consultation cost that never happend!
Agreed! I have been having the same issue, except I have been trying to cancel for medical reasons. It's always you have to come in and speak to someone, then wait 30 more days and another months payment. I finally gave up until I get my medical documentation to submit. It's absolutely ridiculous the hoops you have to jump thru and then still have no resolve. Biggest mistake I could have made signing up here.
Personal trainer
I tried to cancel my personal trainer in late June of this year bc my dog required radiation treatments for cancer. I was told by the manager in Elk Grove, Ca that I was too late and would be billed $360 . No where in your pamphlet does it mention canceling PT; only mentions canceling membership. So WTH is the problem?! I have tried to contact Crunch headquarters several times and I am ALWAYS referred back to the ELk Grove Crunch manager who is the problem!
Desired outcome: Reimbursement of the $360 for PT that I have not used.
Downgraded member ship 5 months ago, horrible customer service in wichita falls from gm tamilyn robbins
I down graded my membership in July of 2022. I did it early in the morning with a rep saying he was a manager. I signed an electronic agreement saying I wanted to be billed $14.99 per month because I did not want to sign a contract. Payments are withdrawn from my savings so I check the next month and thought it might just take another month to kick in. Well since it was my savings I did not know the charges were never downgraded. But I did try to use the massage chairs once and was told in Sept. my membership was downgraded and I could not use them. I did not check my saving for a while but once I did I noticed I was still being charged the $24.99. So I called on a Saturday, Nov. 26 and was told I was speaking with a manager (did not get his name) he said he could see in the notes the membership level was changed but payments were never downgraded and I would be reimbursed $35-37ish dollars. I called today and spoke with a lady saying she is the GM Tamylin Robbins and she said she saw nothing in the notes and told me there is no manager on the weekends and she would only give me a refund of $15.99 , which I decided I would just take it as a free payment in January. She did not apologize for any inconvenience just made excuses that the changes were not done and that was all she could do. She had terrible customer service, I would appreciate a little remorse or extra benefits that could be compensated for the inconvenience. I don't see why she could not she anything had been changed but the (so call manager on the weekend) said he could see changes and provided me much more details. I attend Crunch 3-4x's a week. but fill the employees are useless and it could operate with out any employees and I've very upset about the loss money that I was not refunded because of their poor note taking even though I signed and electronic signature when I change the membership levels back in the summer. I call back 12/6/2020 that evening when I could speak further about my upset with Tamilyn Robbins (they said she was there) and left a message and she never called back.
Desired outcome: I would like to be refunded more than $15.99 since I change membership levels 4 months ago and in the time frame the membership went from $14.99 what I was told when I changed to $15.99. Brandy Gearhart
Group fitness
The first time I ever game to this gym was as a guest to attend Elinor's spin class with a friend when you first opened in 2020. Elinor at the time taught 12 classes and a few different people I knew recommended her. I attended Elinor's class and since that day I was hooked. The same day I came for a free trial is the same day I signed up to join. Initially, the reason I joined was to attend Elinor's spin classes in hopes to start a healthy lifestyle as I loved the energy in her classes. I have attended nearly every single class of her since I joined. I started as a beginner with no knowledge of spinning, extremely overweight and not healthy, but Elinor's motivation, encouragement and dedication to her clients is what changed my life. Elinor's classes have an energy that is unmatched, she motivates everyone in the class to be the best version of themselves and to constantly improve. Elinor has trained 4 different spin instructors, Ana, Ivan, Roger, Maria, all who teach at Crunch, all of their classes as well as Elinor's, have a large following of over 200 people who enjoy this style of class. We all come to their classes throughout the week. Some who specifically are Crunch members for their classes. She and these other instructors bring in a lot of revenue to the gym. Not to mention several of us, like myself, also hired personal trainers at Crunch after Elinor and the other instructors encouraged us to see the trainers at Crunch to maintain this healthier lifestyle. ALL of these instructor's classes are nearly always 100% full and when we use the app to reserve a spot, they are always fully reserved within first 10 mins, sometimes less, of registration opening.
It is a shame that classes that were once FULL, with people waiting, are now being wasted with a classes that have new instructors who are not nearly as committed to spinning, and average 2-5 people, on a good day. Why is this gym removing several classes from the instructors who bring in the most amount of members day in and day out? Isn’t it a good thing to have so many people dedicated to this gym's spin instructor's classes? To have an instructor be so popular and bring so many people into your gym, yet punish them and remove class after class? Why wouldn’t they ADD classes for Elinor and these instructors so more people who want to join can actually attend since the classes are always maxed out in attendance? Instead we keep seeing, season after season, more and more classes are being replaced with random instructors.
It’s so awful that what once was something we all look forward to daily is being cut down over and over again with absolutely no reason given. And to give these classes to instructors who don’t have any clients attending. I arrived early to Elinor's class last night and happened to see what used to be her 5:30pm Monday class, had only SIX people, a class that once had full occupancy with people even waiting for her next class at 6:45pm. This is a regular observation, what a waste of a class, and what a disappointment. Elinor used to teach 12 FULL classes, now she is down to 3 as of January 1st? How can this be?
Elinor, Ivan, Ana, and Maria are certified in several forms of technique and people who attend their classes, love their style of class, music, and energy. Not only am I very, very upset by the gym’s treatment to Elinor and these instructors, but over 200 of us who attend her classes weekly are as well. I would be glad to have everyone who agrees with me, sign something stating that this is unfair and that something should change. We are the paying members of the highest package to attend these classes, we should have a say on who's classes the majority enjoy. I am confident that if you did a survey of spin attendees, the outcome would prove all my points.
Crunch, you need to do better to your people who bring in the business for you and who make your gym the one we chose to come to. If this continues and more classes are being removed, I can almost guarantee people will be cancelling their memberships, myself included. Something needs to be changed.
Thank You and I look forward to your response.
Desired outcome: i'd like a response [protected]@gmail.com

I have been charged over 300.00 after I was awarded Silver Sneakers. I have seen no resolve but more money leaving my account. I because of this, I have had checks bounce and charged for your misappropriation of my funds. Enclosed are bank photos of Crunch taking money from my account. Please contact me before I contact a lawyer. Thank you Mr. M. Coffey Ph# [protected]
