I live in Fox Point, WI, a small suburban community, just north of Milwaukee, WI. I use the CVS pharmacy and drug store exclusively for all prescriptions and miscellaneous drug store purchases -ie, cat food, milk, paper towels, TP, etc. As a family, we spend literally thousands of dollars per year, including prescriptions at our local CVS. We look at our...

There is a Employee at this certain store whom never smiles, always seems annoyed to have to wait on you and, I have no idea why I hand him my CVS card or Coupons that I have earned from shopping because he never discounts them or swipes my card. I go there once a month for my Mother's medication and I dread it. I am trying to convince her loving soul to change stores. I ask other people thinking it could just be me but hands down, there is a problem with this person. I would love to be reimbersed for all the coupons, cash back rewards that were not credited to me that I didn't realize until i was home and looked at my receipt.

mistreatment by pharmist
My name is dawn neilan and on july 30th at around 6:30p I went to drop off a prescription to be filled. I asked to speak to the pharmicist, erika stetz, to ask about my medication and what happened to it as there was a terrible mix up on july 7th. It seems that my medication clonazepam was filled on the 7th by another pharmisist, and the next day and the...

I am complaining this CVS store because I could not get my medicine after I submitted my prescriptions three days. I submitted my prescriptions to CVS on Sunday (JUL 25) and was told to pick it up tomorrow afternoon because they needed to get more information from the doctor. I went back on Monday evening but I still could not get it. I was told their...

I was told twice (Once by phone and then when I got there and gave my card) that they accepted my insurance. I had two prescriptions, one needed to be ordered (Which is surprising as this is a common med and the area dictates it would be popular). It would take 5 days... Ok... And the second script would be ready later that afternoon. Tech took all my information including phone number. Went to pick up one order the next day, they couldn't find it. After about 15 minutes they called the pharmacist at home (I heard his voice on the phone), he told them every place to look for the script and give it back. It was finally found on a counter with other paperwork. The reason they wouldn't fill it? Because even though I was told twice... The info given to me was incorrect, they do not accept my insurance.
No phone call to let me know they couldn't fill it, no offer to fill it and have me pay the full amount, no apologies for misplacing the first script, no apologies for the inconvenience, nothing. Needless to say i'm happy they don't accept my insurance because with what i've experienced, i'd be too afraid to take anything they fill as it may be the wrong medication.
Watch me roll my eyes at your Hitler comment.
>>>>No can do being that I can’t see you 8-|
But I will grant you that using the "Hitler" comment in any context is counterproductive. Perhaps you shouldn't have lobbed it to begin with. Although by your incessant babbling it's more applicable to you.>I have Ankylosing Spondylitis, hence the need for opioids. Continue to hurl as many insults as you want, it shows your antagonistic personality. Your need to get the last word doesn't mean you're right it just means you have an inflated ego and don't know when to stop even when you look like an idiot. You're blinded by your own perspective and lack the ability to understand anyone else's POV when you disagree with it.>Quick Chek Pharmacy
Driscoll, every retailer on the planet has negative reviews,
>>>> Not so>Multitude of Business' that don't care about dissatisfied customers end up closing their doors due to lost profits.>Ummm, I didn't. >That's called freedom of speech. You seem to have an affinity for attacking people for speaking their mind. Regardless of whether you like what they have to say, it's not for you to disparage them from saying it. Talk about a Hitler complex. That mustach is fitting you quite well.> There's that fly again now buzzing around the backroom of every retailer getting all the inside info. You sure are busy. How do you find the time? >That is subjective. And that is your prerogative. This is a nation of free citizens, STEALTH (used with a grain of salt here). Freedom to choose what they want. If you choose to shop at C V S that's your choice. They certainly need all the satisfied customers they can get. As a matter of fact... I encourage you to become a regular, LOL.>I've been a Retail Manager of a $7 million a year big box for over 11 years. I know how we and customers alike operate. Don't pretend that you do. I don't take complaints likely, no retailer does. But it's not for you to try and intimidate anyone from voicing their views. Heil Hitler!
I've been highjacked. Really, what does any of this have to do with my OP. Yes it's all about me, afterall I posted this complaint.
Interesting side note Stealth. I was reading an article on Comcast.net (should have C&P'ed it because I can't find it now) about the top Drug store chains in the country rated by consumers and C V S had almost equal amounts of satisfied customers to dissatisfied customers so they must be doing something right but it's alarming that they don't appear to be concerned about negative feedback so IMO, that's something they need to be working on. Because of my horrible experience there I will never become a costumer in the future.
BTW, Target was rated as the best (or one of, I don't remember) and I have to agree.
Easy now. Don't blow a vessel. BTW, it wasn't a claim and exactly why do you continue to insist that my prescription was denied? Did Jesus whisper that into your ear?
First jab was by you STEALTH in the last sentence of your first obnoxious reply. and it looks like I shot you down.
No, aside from misplacing the first script, not placing the order for a second script, telling me they accepted my insurance twice and not apologizing for all the wrong info, Target filled my scripts the next morning. So, not surprisingly, you're wrong.
What happened Kameraden? I have to say, I'm glad you finally realized you aren't a worthy opponent and it's fun to see you not liking the tables turned on you. Karma is a ### isn't it?
Take a drive over to CVS for some Valium, LOL! You never know though you may end up with an 18 hour hard on instead. Little blue pills ya know? But mistakes happen.
Think before you use those fingers to post an opinion no one cares about under the pretense of being spiritual and acting as if you were a fly on the CVS wall buzzing around and getting all the facts. You know nothing and jumped to conclusions about what transpired.
And yet again the only one you called out was yourself, for being foolish, inconsequential and embarrassing.
Oh look...now you've appointed yourself the administrator of expression. Talk about perfection...ego much? I'm not concerned with your opinion regarding my "tone" nor your religious preferences. LOL. Get over yourself.
The only point you continue to make is that you are a boor with a thesaurus who enjoys trying to goad people with senseless statements and insults .
But to get back to my OP...You are absolutely ridiculous in your analogy that it's acceptable for CVS TECHNICIANS to be irresponsible because everyone makes mistakes. Not very Jesus like of you to imply that a human life is expendable.
As I stated before and as you continue to ignore, peoples lives depend on accuracy in a pharmacy. Perhaps a multimillion dollar lawsuit due to negligence would work to insure consumer safety
Please, if you wish to continue with your drivel, go back and read the OP and the COMPLETE sequence of events and try to use a different defense because quite frankly you really aren't making a case other than you need to get a life and perhaps a reading comprehension class.
Well, that depends... The point you made "Stealth" is that you simply are not good at debating issues.
If the only way you think you have triumphed is through a failed attempt at insulting then you shouldn't add you .[protected] because you simply are incapable of having an intelligent discussion of the issues. It is quite embarrassing actually.
THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A DECENT CONVERSATION HAD YOU NOT ADDED WHAT YOU THINK TO BE A SMART ### REMARK AT THE END. NOTHING ELSE TO DO 'STEALTH' BUT SPEND YOUR DAYS TROLLING THIS COMPLAINT BOARD LOOKING FOR A FIGHT? SO, LET'S GET ON WITH IT THEN SHALL WE? I'M DEFINITELY NOT JESUS AND I DO LOVE FLAMES...
MISTAKES IN A PHARMACY MUST AND SHOULD BE UNCOMMON. TECHNICIANS, LIKE DOCTORS HAVE PEOPLE'S LIVES IN THEIR HANDS. "OOPSIES" ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE AND SHOULD NOT BE TAKEN LIGHTLY OR TOLERATED.
THIS "MISPLACED PIECE OF PAPER" IS SERIOUS CONSIDERING HOW MUCH OVERLOOK IS GIVEN TO OPIOID MEDICATIONS FROM PHARMACIES AS WELL AS THE GOVERNMENT. FILLING THIS TYPE OF MED IS NOT A SIMPLE PHONE CALL AWAY. THAT LITTLE PIECE OF PAPER IS MANDATORY FOR FILLING. AND BY THE WAY THEY BEGAN FRANTICALLY SEARCHING FOR IT THEY KNEW IT WAS SERIOUS AS WELL. I'M SURE IF THEY COULDN'T FIND IT, THEY WOULDN'T OFFER TO PAY MY GAS FOR DRIVING THE 24 MILES BACK TO MY DOCTOR, YA THINK? OH BUT WAIT IT'S THE WEEKEND AND I WORK ALSO SO I WOULD BE NOT INCONVENIENCED ONCE OR TWICE BUT THREE TIMES.. NOPE NOT ACCEPTABLE IN MY BOOK. MAYBE, JUST MAYBE AN APOLOGY WOULD HAVE SOFTENED THAT BLOW BUT THEY DIDN'T EVEN COUGH THAT UP.
JUST FOR POOPS AND GIGGLES I'LL FILL YOU IN A LITTLE...I NEED 4 DIFFERENT MEDS FILLED EVERY MONTH. INSURANCE NEVER TURNS IT DOWN, EVER. NO NEED TO. IT'S ON A TIGHT SCHEDULE AND WE ADHERE TO IT. HAVE BEEN FOR OVER TWO YEARS. SO SORRY TO DISAPPOINT YOU BUT YES IT GOES BACK TO THE SHEER INCOMPETENCE OF THIS STORE.
TAKE IT FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH. IT'S YOUR RIGHT TO DISAGREE AS IT IS MINE TO VOICE DISSATISFACTION.
CVS SUCKS.
@ Driscoll, K
Humans make mistakes. While it's not acceptable to make them, they do happen, and that's unavoidable. When big mistakes are made CVS pays for it, and usually the board of pharmacy will strip the techs licenses. Yes, they should have called you for sure to alert you your insurance was denying your medication. May I ask what insurance you carry? Generally the only insurance they do not accept is union insurance (depending if its a private union store) and hospital insurances (kaiser). Even then, sometimes, in rare cases it's the plan your paying for that wont allow us to fill it. Example we accept Caremark, but sometimes when a patient comes in they reject us telling us to tell the patient they have to go through mail-order. If it wasn't one of those then I promise you they were getting a legit reject message.
However, at my store (we do 4, 100 scripts a week so we are very busy) we always call the patient and print the reject message so the patient can contact their insurance. They should have for sure told you sorry, and as for the waiting 5 days for a C2...I believe new laws were put into effect that allow ONLY the pharmacist manager to order. Maybe that's only in California, but it means if the pharmacy manager isn't working for two days in a row you have to wait for him to be on schedule for him to order it. After he places the order it takes another 3 days to arrive.
As for momentarily losing the C2 RX, I also assure you we are more nervous than you are about that because we look like completely incompetent fools and we do know how dire it is to lose a C2 because that's a customer lose and in most cases the doctor will stop referring patients to come in. Sadly it happens, but we've always been able to find the c2 RX after a complete inspection of everything. It's embarrassing for us when it happens (very rarely in my store only happened once in the two years I've been there but we did find the RX and fill it while saying sorry over and over again).
In end that store while they may have been right about your insurance, should have called you, printed proof of the rejection along with offering to call your insurance if they weren't busy with anything else, and apologized for not taking the steps they are supposed too, even if it was a mistake never hurts to say sorry over and over.
I completely agree with the complaint and think CVS has some negligent pharmacists and business practices. My daughter was prescribed a new prescription last week. We went to fill it at CVS. I called the insurance on the way to the pharmacy to make sure it was covered. No problem. When I went to fill it at CVS, they said it was denied. I told them to call the insurance because I just spoke to them and it was covered. Tech called and confirmed then told me it would be 15 minute wait. Perfect, right?
We proceeded to shop in the store. Afer about 1/2 hour I went to counter to see what was taking so long. Said pharmacist was filling it. Went back 15 minutes later. Still filling. 10 minutes later, they gave me the prescriptions, I paid and I walked out of the store. Opened the prescriptions in the car and found it was not what the Dr. prescribed. I went back into pharmacy to speak with the pharmacist. He said the prescription ordered wasn't covered. I told him abou the tech and he said she told him it wasn't covered and to call the Dr. of course, couldn't verify that because she was off duty. I could tell he was lying about checking with her. He said he called doctor and doctor changed prescription strength and dosing. Instead of 50 mg XR, he filled 50 mg 2x per day. He was adamant that was what the Dr. prescribed. Again, of course, this was a Friday evening and the Dr. had left for the day so I couldn't verify myself.
I gave my eight year old the Rx per the pharmacist instructions. She was lethargic and barely awake all weekend. Called insurance and Dr. first thing monday morning to find out (1) medicine substituted should have been 25 mg 2x per day, not 50 mg (PHARMACIST JOHNNY Yu's error) and (2) the XR IS covered under my insurance.
When my husband called CVS to complain he got the brush off. (1) CVS insisted the prescription was filled per the Dr. orders (or at least how Johnny Yu heard them... English is not his first language), (2) Johnny Yu is a "floating" pharmacist that was filling in for someone on vacation so it won't happen again (aka it's someone else's problem) and (3) CVS only had the XR in the blister packs (which is not covered by my insurance) and since they didn't have the "bottled" kind in stock, they told me it wasn't covered (aka they will withhold the "whole" truth if it puts a quick buck in their pocket).
Bottom line: CVS pharmacists do make mistakes, it's CYA not apologies. If you are willing to accept pharmacists' mistakes or management's lackadasical attitude about them, it's your life. Just be forewarned...
approval for meds
CVS Caremark? You may wish to consider another pharmacy for your long term meds. If you have a condition like cancer, MS etc your meds should not be questioned it the doctor gives a script for a specific med it is to help condition or illness. CVS feels they have a rite to deny a med if its not on their list for treatment. Causing the patient who is relapsed or dealing with an attack to be delayed in the treatment referred by doctor. Patients with MS who have a congnitive brain attack some get relief from low dose ritilin or the generic brand. If the pharmacy has approved it for over 2-3 years in the past when patient needed it. The should not make the person who is ill jump through hoops to get it when they need it again. However, CVS is doing this to MS patients who have relapsed from MS or brain lesion. First they say no at pharmacy until patient gets authorization from doctor. Doctor jumps through hoops gets it in. Patient is still waiting no follow up they call to find out CVS refuses the authorization they asked for. Is not on their treatment list for patients who take the med only children and certain patients. I suggested the find out more about MS attacks the brain as well. If patient been on med for several years. Had previous pescriptions filled over several years with CVS no red tape fill it. Patients are being denied if doctor did not prescribe med previous year. Patient may not have needed it then. Now their is a need and they are making the relapse worse and forcing the patient to take old med from 2008 or older to help. The should be held accountable if condition gets worse.

employment
I've worked for this company for about 4 years and realized its not what you know but who you know. This company laid me off over some [censored].I've read article after article online and noticed that I wasn't the only one.I've noticed managers got fired for not having the proper title in the system for there employees, my title hasn't been right for 2 years. Then I noticed how if you fail 2 audits your fired my ex-manager lost 3 and was missing a good amount of money that he couldn't even explain.I've seen how people got away with stealing items of the floor, cigarettes and even go as far to try to get with minors on the job. They try to keep all of that information on a tight rope but its time to come out for people to see.I've written letter after letter while I was still employed with this company about certain people breaing CVs policy but nothing happened I guess because they have DM and training positions your policy should be for evryone not just certain employees and that how I feel.PROOF I have a lot of it and am very determined to hand this over to the right person so all of this can STOP.

prescription
RPH George Franko refused service to me because computers were down. Doctor faxed over prescription. RHP George Franko required me to drive all the way home to get old bottle of medication and bring back. I used profantity and "fliped him off". I returned to the store after driving all the way home with the family in the car because we were on our way out to dinner, and drove back to the pharmacy to pick up my medication. RPH George Franko threw the empty bottle back at me and said I am no longer a customer at CVS because CVS does not accept customers who use profantiy and I must take my business elsewhere. I asked for my faxed copy of my prescription back. RHP George Franko refused to give it to me saying it was HIS property now.
I asked for the police. He said go ahead. I asked for my prescription once again and he refused and told me to go take my business to another pharmacy. I am now using SAVON on El Camino Real and La Costa Ave in Carlsbad CA. No problems there.
Thanks for your reply for the other side.
Businesses have the right to refuse service to any patron for whatever reason. Admitting to using profanity and vulgar hand gestures is a sure fire way to get yourself kicked off of their patient list. Tough luck. Next time, try not to be such a dick.
I HATE CVS they are only about the all might dollar, look at their prices in the stores. I am a tried and true Wal-greens customer. I have 2 narcotics called in for me every month and they do not EVER ask for a bottle only verification of who I am and occasionally to see my insurance card. Giving some one a prescription is NOT illegal once again I repeat NOT illegal if it is to the person it is intended for. You did right Susan! that prescription is your property because it was written for you not the pharmacist. I hope you get some satisfaction out of this hole ordeal, good luck.

This state has a pseudoephedrine purchase tracking system. It is set up to only accept certain types of IDs such as driver's licenses, state issued non-driver IDs (from state DMV), and military IDs. Pharmacy workers cannot legally sell any pseudoephedrine containing medication without typing in the number from one of the acceptable ID types. If they did so, they would be considered illegally selling a controlled substance just the same as if they were selling narcotics without a prescription.
It's the law, buttercup.. they can only accept state or federal issued Id.
I used to work in a pharmacy, they only take state drivers license, state identification cards, or military cards

Linda Clary's doctor, Dr. Richard Allen called the pharmacy mentioned above and left 2 prescriptions for her on July 6, 2010 at 3:30. She was extremely nauseated from other medicine she was taking. Her husband went by the store at 5:10 and the employee there said that nothing had been called in to the store. She called the doctor and luckily he was still in and said that it had been called in at 3:30 PM and left on an answering machine. Her husband was called and told to tell them that it was on the answering machine. He had to wait approximately 45 minutes. The pharmacy called before he arrived at his home to tell him that they left one of them out of the bag. It is approximately 30 min. from the pharmacy to their house.
The pharmacy was called and asked to bring the second prescription to the intersection of I85 and 903 and her sister would meet them so that she could get the medicine as soon as possible. Rather than listen to the reasons that they needed to deliver it, the pharmacist hung up. Not I'm sorry, nothing. This is totally unacceptable.
Wal-Mart will be the pharmacy of choice from now on.

rude treatment by their employees
I wrote 3 letters & sent 2 e-mails plus I tried to contact Tom Ryan CVS-Caremark to complain about rude treatment by your employees whenever I informed them that they were ignorant of your corp. policies. I had to research the internet to find inf. put out by you in regard to presc. policy. Unfortunately your employees from mang. on down do not know your own policies.Pls.forward this to Tom Ryan and contact me.
Perhaps the problem isn't CVS or any other drugstore for that matter, it is probably you, After working in retail, for a very long time and especially working in retail pharmaceuticals for over a decade, i can assure you, the problems arise from customers who are impatient, ignorant, conceited and absolutely have a sense they are entitled to everything and everyone worrying about every one of your problems. Let me give you a list of what not to do:
It's a pharmacy, don't go up to the pharmacist to ask them where the nail polish is, we don't know and we don't care, try opening your eyes for once.
Consultation doesn't mean we solve every one of your petty problems such as oh my insurance is charging me blah blah, we don't care about your insurance, we don't know about them and we don't have access to your insurance plans, consultation means ask about a drug, and walk away with the answer.
Stop over analyzing everything and wondering exactly how a drug works, if we started explaining to you how it works, you will not understand, that's why we went to school for 7 years, you didn't. when we give you a jist of how it works, take our word for it.
We do not withhold your prescriptions, when we tell you that we haven't received your prescription yet, call your doctor, don't ask us to call, we're not your servants, we have a few hundred other people just like you to attend to, who also think they're the most important thing on this little planet. When we waste 10 minutes of our time on your one prescription, we're disregarding about 10 other people, so don't feel so self important.
When you have an insurance problem, call your insurance, don't yell at us, it's NOT our fault and quite honestly it doesn't affect us. Explore your options, you can either call for a change of drug, call to get it authorized, give you insurance company an earful, you chose this plan, not us, don't take it out on us.
IF you have medicaid, don't feel entitled to get all brand names just because you want them, you're getting free insurance being paid out of the rest of our pockets, take the medication that is prescribed, and don't be petty about getting it brand name only.
When we call your doctors for a rx renewal, it's a privilege, not a right. You are supposed to call your own doctors and keep track of your own medications, how lazy can you possibly get. Oh, and don't yell at us when your doctor does not respond, speak with your doctor.
And last but not least, remember that we are humans too, we have feelings too, and sometimes, we make mistakes too, if you work in healthcare, you have to be especially careful, but no one is perfect, this is why when you decide to complain about someone else and try to get them fired, remember how the world works, what goes around comes around, so if you wish bad upon someone else, you most certainly will receive the worst of it.
I agree they once told me to go and find the cold medicine myself. It was three am and I was really sick it is the nearest 24 hour drug store to my house. I called the store manager complained and have never been back to CVS. I bought my medicine at Safeway much better customer service.
You are wasting your time with Mr. Ryan just "BOYCOTT CVS "
mistreatment by manager
I don't know where to begin. My entire store is having problems with our manager. She's young: 28 and she tends to condescend to all of us. She overworks our assistant manager while she takes 3-4 days off almost every week. He's lucky if he gets 1 day off. She overworks me by making me do all of her paperwork. When I come back to work after being gone on vacation, or helping another store, I'll find weeks and weeks worth of paperwork that she should have done. Why does this have to fall on me?
She shows favoritism towards other employees. She hired one girl to be a Photo Lab Supervisor (even though she came from the pharmacy department, doesn't have much knowledge of photo, and has only been with our store for a month) while one of the girls who has worked in photo for 3 years wasn't considered for the opportunity. An opportunity that is FULL-TIME, and yet the new girl is working this job part-time. If this was allowed the girl that has been there for 3 years could do it. Our manager is practically best friends with the girl she hired as photo lab supervisor. And the other day, a pharmacy tech. overheard our manager and the photo lab supervisor talking ### about all of us.
More favoritism...we had a contest. Whoever had the most customer compliments called in to corporate would be given a $50 giftcard. I was tied with a cashier. When I inquired about the gift card he received and I didn't I was told my comment didn't count because it was told to my manager and not called in. I told her the customer told me she would rather tell my manager personally, especially because she didn't want to give out her information on the phone. My manager said it didn't matter and it didn't count. Later, the customer asked me if I won the contest. I told her what happened and she said that was ridiculous and that I needed to work for someone who actually appreciated me.
A few days later, my manager asked my assistant manager if I was upset about the contest. He said I was and she said, "Well that's too bad. I don't care about how my employees feel."
A day or two after that I spoke to her about my "Phase one" training. I told her I was told I had to complete this on my own time and that it wasn't paid for. My assistant manager told me it was. She said it was not. When I inquired about why she was letting one of the supervisors do it at work she said, "Well I don't have anything else for her to do." I said, "But she's doing it on company time instead of her own time. She's being paid for it. How is that fair?" She had no comment.
Later in the week she snapped at me when I came to clock in. "Nicole, what did I tell you about clocking in before you're ready to work?!" That's right. I can't even put my purse away or go to the bathroom right after I clock in. So I said, fine. I'll go back to the bathroom first. She asked me why I was giving her attitude and I told her I was not. Later she cornered me in the office and asked me what my problem was. I told her I had already discussed my problems with her. Once again she asked me to name them. I told her everything you have read in this post so far. She repeated the same old things she had said before. She said, "I want you to come to me with your problems. I care about how you feel." I wanted to say, "Really? Because that's not what you told our assistant manager the other day", but I bit my tongue. I didn't want to drag him into it. I left the office after telling her she had nothing new to say to me so there was no point in talking about it.
We've had two people quit this week because of her. We have 2 people out for medical reasons. I was the only one left to cover the morning shift, but I"m off that day. She asked me tonight if I would cover it. I told her I couldn't because I had obligations. She said that I better be doing homework tomorrow then. I said, what I do with my personal time off is just that...personal. But I told her I would not be doing homework. She said, "Then you should be working. That's what I give you the weekend off for!" (I only ask for one day out of the weekend off and that's what I normally get). I told her that what I did with my personal time was none of her concern. "I'm not taking classes right now because I'm waiting on my FASFA to go through." She said in that case, I should have told her so she could put me on working weekends. I told her that wouldn't make sense because she does the schedule 3 weeks in advance and I just found out that I had to renew my FASFA. She then called me a liar! "You should know when your semester is over." I told her that I do Axia College of University of Phoenix online (per CVS) and that I don't do semesters. I do the whole year without a break (except for Christmas) and I do 2 class for every 9 weeks. "No you're lying. And you have no right to be a supervisor if you can't be flexible!" That statement pushed me over the edge. I am flexible. I only ask for one day out of the weekend off, and it's her pick! That's it. That's all I ask! And she has the nerve to tell me I have no right to be a supervisor when I've spent 5 years working my butt off to get where I am today? Who does she think she is? How can a manager speak to an employee that way?
I've tried to call the CVS Ethics line for 2 hours (They're supposed to be 24 hours), but I haven't gotten through. I"m so outraged!
Hi, TeufelishEin,
I contacted my Loss Prevention lady after this incident. She said that all phase one and phase two training (whether online or in the book) is PAID FOR. My manager lied to me and the LP lady had to go to someone higher up to ensure I was paid for it. My manager later told me a superior told her this training was not paid for, but that was just to cover her ###. She resigned a few weeks after I voiced my complaints to our LP lady. If you did not get paid for this training, try to back track and figure out when you did it and how long it took you. I figured out all of phase one (the book version) took me over 20 hours! That's a lot of money I was missing out on!
Quinonez,
You can try to get a transfer, or call around and let other stores know you are available if they need someone to work. They will pay you gas mileage too! You wouldn't happen to be from the Tampa Bay area would you? The stores out of district 4 always need help!
Yeah, but she has the DM & RM in her back pocket. She became a manager after being a assistant in 3 months. Whenever someone calls the DM, RM or the ethics line nothing happens. At this point I give up.
I was 18 when I started working at CVS Pharmacy. I was so excited after knowing the store's employees and employer since I was ten, and very eager to work. I started on Valentines Day of this year and I was excited but nervous at the same time given the high demand of service required on holidays. An older gentlemen came to to the checkout counter with around five items and asked me to grab him a sixth item around the counter that was decently expensive. He handed me exact cash ($120) and I had left the register very disorganized (fives where tens should be and so on) therefore, I didn't want to make it more complicated for other transactions so I stupidly slipped it in my pocket with intent to sort it later. The man may have though I had intent to steal it but I explained my confusion and he moved on with his purchases.
I had volunteer work shortly after the end of my shift that I needed to catch a bus to make and (again, stupidly) forgot about the money in my pocket. As I left the store my manager causally said he would see me on that next Thursday. I didn't wash my uniform until the Wednesday before and saw the money. I freaked out given that I was working the next day and it was after hours so I couldn't return it that night.
I came into work that next Thursday after a college interview and changed out of my "great first impression suit" in the break room. After I changed I worked at the counter for about ten minutes and then was called by my manager up to his office. I knew what it was about and was ready to explain the unlucky occurrences leading to the financial loss. I had the money with me in an envelope however and hoped I wouldn't be punished too harshly.
I came into the office and to my surprise my manager left me in his office with two very large (muscular and tall) men that seemed initially very intimidating. One man was in a swivel chair by a computer and another was in a stationary by the wall. They gave me a very general assessment of who they were (loss prevention) and what they did (prevent loss). Following this, a very "good cop bad cop routine" laid its ground and I could feel it. As I tried to explain the situation, the man sitting in the stationary chair by the wall actually cracked his neck and knuckles (terrifying me) while the man in the swivel chair continued to ask no matter my utterances if I was "insulting their intelligence".
I continued to explain my case as I assured them no, but they seemed to get sick of me and my explanation. They said that if I didn't sign documents (that they wrote by hand in front of me) saying that I stole the money from the store, they would have the cops come and arrest me. I cried and begged because I know I didn't do it intentionally, but had to sign to prevent legal action.
I was lead into the break room by one of the men to collect my things. He seemed to almost turn over completely on the attitude spectrum. Very mean to very nice. I walked to work every day and told him that was how I was getting home by preference. He thought I had potentially shoplifted merchandise and searched my bag to make sure (finding nothing obviously). The man asked me why I stole it and when I said I didn't he continued to shut down on a responsive level. They had my manager drive me home. I loved my manager, but I felt like garbadge next to him. I tried to appologize, but he wouldn't take it because he didn't know the situation yet.
He called me on February 20th and told me (almost based on script) that I had been terminated. I didn't fight it, said thank you, and said goodbye. I wasn't banned from the store, but nevertheless can't sleep because my character was killed in the store that night.
How can I repair what was lost? My manager said that I would receive money based on the hours I worked soon, but that was three months ago. I want to give the store my wages to prove I didn't steal anything. I love the store, but think that loss prevention was not very appropriate. What can I do please? I am so depressed and feel terrible. I would love another chance. Please help! :(
Hey there im an employee also and have the same issue with are new pharmacy manager whos only 25 hes cocky and no matter whats going on he has something smart to say. If cvs has a goal of seeing of many people quit its growing by the day.
This young kid has no clue how to run the pharmacy instead is just winging it all the way. Its a pretty sad situation before him the manager was amazing. She was upbeat and always asking customers what she can do to helo them. Wth webt wrong. He talks to us like were dumb. Not to mention he thinks he can do whatever he pleases
I have been constantly talked down to since I started working here. I do my best to make sure that customers are taken care of, but I get yelled at for being slow and ridiculed with sarcastic remarks when I voice a concern or ask a question (I'm a new hire) that they know because they have BEEN THERE WAY LONGER THAN I HAVE. I'm sorry for asking for help. An incident happened today where I say a woman who was clearly being abused. I pulled her to consultation away from the man she was with to try to speak to. She didn't know engpish, so I asked a coworker to translate my question for me. The pharmacist can over and asked what was going on. I told her what was going on and she said "we're not allowed to do that". I had to go back to working, and I watched as the woman walked away after being talked to about her medicine. It stuck with me for the rest of the day. When I spoke to another coworker about it, the other pharmacist over heard, and started sarcastically saying in a loud voice "__________ got her conscience degree". I hate this place. I like most of the customers, some of my coworkers, and ONE pharmacist who's a cool guy. There's nothing to be said for the rest who only care about the bottom line, and only sees the customer as a means to get to it.
over charged on a refill of medication
Sometimes it seems that there is nothing that you can do, I am a Manager and my DM has made my store such a hostile work environment that I cannot sneeze without worry that one of my shifts will try to report me for something. I have actually had one of them come to me and tell me that a certain shift who has been trying to get me fired for 4 months so the Asst. can take over constantly asks him if there is anything she can report me for. She does this EVERY WEEK and when I talk to my DM about it he actually calls her and tells her if she has any issues with me to call HR directly and skip the ethics line. Its not just Managers who make life miserable it can go both ways and I feel your pain!
My husband been working for CVS about 6 months and has dealt with everything everyone here has complained about ! treated like dirt hours cut for free labor by pharm techs on externships horrible boss who's not even certified and gave the full time position they promised my husband to her sister ! DM does nothing while he had no hrs like 1 day a week she was getting overtime then supposedly the DM was mad she kept getting on to her but never really did anything ! Wonder what inside dirt she has on the DM cause she gets away with everything. now husband called every CVS in FL looking for hrs and or to transfer to full time position got hrs in Gainsville was expected to get mileage got there and half way through his shift the manager tells him hes not gonna pay mileage for driving all the way from Jax ! Worst place to work ever !
CVS Pharmacy
Since day one I have been mistreated, yelled at, insulted, and pushed around by my pharmacist and certain team members of pharmacy. It's to the point they openly snap at me in front of the customers for the most part I have taken it, but today I stood my ground & defended myself to the associate pharmacist who yelled at me across the pharmacy as I assisted a customer who had been waiting 45 minutes for a prescription. I originally did not have a line of customers as I was finishing up her refill with another team member next to me the assoc. pharmacist yelled "(name) are you helping a customer"? When I responded "yes" he came over & said when you have a line send the customers to drop off literally in my face nose to nose violating my personal space. I turned to the associate pharmacist & stated " At the time no one was there that's why I assisted her at drop off had four people in line I was doing my job"! After servicing all customers I requested to go on my break early. Just before leaving the associate pharmacist requested to speak with me before clocking out. I walked over & he stated I needed to move fast. I immediately said "excuse me" I'm not superwoman I can't move like the speed of light however I per my trainer I am allowed to go as slow as I need to ensure I am doing my job correctly. I will move fast, but I will not hurt myself in the process. The associate pharmacist then said I have been very disrespectful & lacking in my performance & the other day I got mad at the (lead pharmacist name) when switching me from a station (side note: unprofessionally in front of a customer in an abrupt manner associate pharm not aware) at that point I bit my lip trying to refrain from saying what I really wanted to say. I then stopped him & said at no point in our hand book does it say your allowed to shout across the pharmacy to get my attention, or ask me what I'm doing, at no point does it say your allowed to violate my personal space when addressing me with a concern, or throw a conversation in my face that you don't have all the facts to. The associate pharm then cut me off saying I don't want to hear this leave my store I don't need you for the rest of the day & instructed me to call the store in the morning. One minute I'm doing a horrible job & constantly disrespected the next minute I'm "asked to stay later & cover peoples shifts because I'm picking up quite fast & doing a fantastic job" with this being my 5th day feeling like things aren't working at that specific location it's time to request a transfer so I can continue working with this awesome company.
I have been having problems with my manager since she was transfer to the store its been 5 years and nothing has improved, I don't know who else to talk to ...DM, HR, and ethics line has not done anything in my favor...The DM, and HR, both favor her in anything ...I now was transfer and given to work the Overnight hours, I have been with company over 20, and its been 2 years I don't get a raise, but some new employees come in with a better pay rate, than me ...I don't understand, but this has nothing to do with the company, but the people they have in charge of the higher positions, that are making these decisions ... very upset...
My manager told me that I was to complete that 'homework' on my own time, and that I shouldn't be paid for it... Is this saying we should have done that on company time, and that I should have received pay?
what can we do if are manager don't give us hours ! and is transferring other people from other stores and they get the hours what can we do ?
managers uncaring and incapable
Oh, what to say about cvs? Having been a long time customer of cvs caremark corp. I have seen and heard a lot of things, and until recently i've had no complaints.
Store number 448 in haddonfield nj recently rubbed me the wrong way and I will never go to cvs again; me, my family, my friends, not one of them. This particular location has been switching managers more than one changes clothes, but it finally evened out when they got two managers erin and lew. The store was great, always stocked, and whenever there was a problem in the pharmacy they were able to rectify it almost immediately, they were the most caring, and biggest customer service oriented managers i've ever met. However, due to the district manager (Whom i've witnessed sending the manager erin into tears over her outrageous attitude and macho passat) gave them enough trouble they both left.
Recently, a new manager by the name of wayne and his assistant tim stepped in. Since then the store has been absolutely terrible. The shelves are bare empty, checkout candy is non-existent; the parking lot is full of debris and trash. Wooden pallets broken into pieces, floors that look as if they haven't been vacuumed in months, among many other problems.
On a more recent trip I noted they were out of the brand of cigarette I buy daily. After a 2 weeks I gave up looking for another week; the day after their delivery I called up the store to ask if they had gotten them in as I was on my way to work and didn't want to stop if they were still not in. Wayne had answered the phone and told me "sorry, you gotta call back in two hours" I said excuse me can't you just look really quickly for me? To which I got "no ma'am, call back in two hours and our cashier can look for you when she gets in.
I've also seen tim on his cell phone multiple times, as well as using vulgar language on the sales floor. I'm sorry cvs, but the fact that you can hire such incompetent people shows me nothing but the fact that you don't really care about your customers, only the money going into your pocket.
Actually Stealth, if you had ANY idea how retailers work, product is recieved by a central CVS Warehouse, each individual store sends their order out to the centralized warehouse, and the warehouse ships that order to the store. So no, you don't blame the tobacco company. Learn how a retail system works prior to making stupid comments. Also, when did I ever say anything about asking a pharmacist to do my shopping. I asked the STORE MANAGER, so yes Customer Service is his job. Why don't you fully read this before making comments and making yourself sound like a buffoon?

you think that's bad.. try working for them!
customer service sucks
Yesterday I went to CVS to take a over the counter medicine, I had a quick question with the pharmacist and I was waiting at the consultation counter. Three other assistants of the pharmacist asked for any help at three different times but asked me to wait for the pharmacist, but the pharmacist was looking(acting) so busy looking at the computer and she...
Read full review of CVS and 7 commentsthey are both awful to work with and will not use them again after the year is up
I just finish talking to Health Net and CVS Caremark about billing problems (Many, many, many times over and over) This call took 59 minutes and 47 seconds and still no result. They promise to call me back later. When I complaint about overcharges they tell me to call Health Net, when I call Health Net, they tell me to call CVS Caremark, nut Caremark will not call Health Net to tell them what the problem is. They are BOTH awful to work with and will not use them again after the year is up. I had unresolved issue about the same medicine in 2009 that I had to go all the way to Maximus Federal Services to finally get a refund (which I have not yet received).
being falsely accused by loss prevention!!
So i've been employed with CVS as a photo technician since sept of 2007. Never had any complaints..no serious customer issues...established a great relationship with my customers and have even been told by several corporate employees that i was one of the best employees that store ever had. So i go into work on Monday 6/14 and get called into the office by my store manager and when i go in there the new loss prevention guy is there. Im thinking he just wants to meet with all of the employees in our store because he was new. Boy was i wrong! He pulls out an empty lip gloss package and tells me that they have me on video removing the lip gloss from the package..concealing the lip gloss and throwing the package down the aisle. (this supposedly happened on 6/9). So my first reaction was i laughed..and i then asked them if this was some kind of joke or training excercise of some sort...i repeatedly asked him if he was really serious. He assured me that he was. I then proceeded to tell him that i did NOT take anything from this store. Especially lip gloss. He then clarified that he had seen it on video with his own two eyes. I then requested to to see this 'supposed' video IMMEDIATELY! because this is complete and utter b.s. He kept telling me that "it didn't work like that"...and then asked me if i was "comprehending" what he was saying to me. I asked him if he was comprehending the fact that i want to see this video..not now but RIGHT NOW!I was really beginning to get highly upset and demanding to see this imaginary video! I started to raise my voice and began to cry because the frustration of this situation was taking its toll on me. It was like i was yelling at the top of my lungs and no one even bothered to look up. So he told me what he'd do for me is talk to our district manager to investigate this further.. i said ok whatever...then i asked him..since i supposedly stole this lip gloss where did i conceal it? He said "I dont know". Im like this has to be some kind of joke. Then he made sure to tell me that i was not being written up...not being suspended..not being terminated..and that i should go in the back..gain my composure and go to work and let this blow over. Im like WtF? You're accusing me of stealing and yet you want me to go back to work like nothing happened. If im stealing why would the store put their assets at risk? It makes no sense! If they have me on video...why was i not terminated? I know why..because i DIDNT TAKE ANYTHING! So my store manager asked me to get myself together. I told her no...im going home and i then left...about 45 mins after i got home i got a call from my store manager asking me why i reacted the way that i did and that...(get this you guys) "I WASN'T BEING ACCUSED OF ANYTHING" . Oh so youre telling me that i was in the office for close to 45 mins being told that i stole lipgloss when i know i didnt? But i wasn't being accused of anything? Come on! what kind of game is this? So they have been calling my phone several times a day asking me when im coming back into work...if i would like them to put me on the sched for next week. I haven't responded to anyone. I called human resources and requested a leave of absence until this situation is resolved and i receive and apology from my manager...loss prevention...and the district manager. i also filed a report with the CVS ethics line because this is just wrong. Nothing like this has ever happened to me before...and nothing about this situation makes any sense. Im hurt by being falsely accused...no matter how small the item was.. im being accused of doing something that is completely out of my character...now THAT hurts...any advice?

Well, being we are all humans...you must admit- we are an imperfect species, wrought w/shortcomings & ailments that are simply out of our control, understand?! To think/believe anything different is the 1st sign of a genuine problem. Furthermore- to immediately place blame on any/all others around you, can be some kind of a last resort attempts at a desperate self preservation technique.. Let it go. Really. Just surrender to your sins... Admission of your powerlessness is 1st of many, many steps ahead...got it?!
People are ao afraid of failing, &/or disappointing- that nothing is out of realm of plausibility- in terms of confusion, denial, etc. Certainly you admit, there's a very real chance (&LIKELIHOOD) you inadvertently slipped the merchandize in a pocket, purse, Apron, smock, wallet, etc and merely "forgot" about it soon after. Anybody can have a momentary lapse in recollection. A subtle & minor blackout is not out of the question. Our pride can be our worst enemy-making admission so impossible. Never fear the TRUTH! Only face your SIN, OR ELSE we do po ourselves the biggest disservice ever! As in your case, evidently.. You put job, reputation, livelihood all at huge risk...and for what? Just a momentary lapse in judgment? So not worthy! It's a very slippery slope, and the outcome, is generally never good for the person who convinced self of this split second idea of becoming invincible. You must drop this notion of controlling all thibgs around you! We have no control, thinking any different will surely rot your spirit! We know you understand, we know you can see & feel, so wake the hell up CHILD, & ressurect! B4 your chance eludes your grasp! Time for a priest. Or a lawyer, perhaps.. Definitely should get a shrink, ASAP. .while you still have some slivered semblance of reality. It's never too late to begin the rebirth... That is, unless of course- as in your case... IT IS JUST TOO DAMN LATE, period. Ask for saving! Look for guidance! Pray for swift & pain free demise...as you face impending doom. Just plan for a better shot in the next life...if you're lucky enough to be granted another go at it. Meditate, & liberate your Soul... Or darkness shall forever shroud your life's inner-light! Humble yourself now, or forever be damned. It very well might be too far beyond your desperate, groveling reach.
My Name is: H. Maurice. On 7/19/2021; Appx 09:00 pm, I walked into the CVS store on 14st 4ave to get something to drink, walk to the beverage cooler opened the cooler for some reason or another I didn't get anything. I turned around, started walking toward the front of the store, suddenly I felt someone rushing beside me, followed by a voice saying; let me see what you have under your shirt, I looked besides me , it was a lady police officer, I automatically froze, in a hurry I lifted up my shirt of course there was nothing there, I wasn't surprise because I never had a stealing problem or History, instantly there was that of embarrassing, shameful, lesser than feelings rushing on me the list goes on. I went outside, just so I could exhale & start breathing correctly again. I went back inside the store to bring it to Cvs store staff. I made them aware of the incident. I also got the Name of the store manager on duty that I got. I though I could put this behind me, well its harder to be said than done. I frequently go to that area, guess what? Once I'm ready to pass that store my feet actually clam up on me. & besides; I must be very careful not to enter that store intentionally or by accident ever again, because that's a feeling I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy, & because the are a couple drug stores within that block. I need to put closure to this incident; for one to rest a little more in peace within my self & hoping another Black man would have to go through that. Put it this way if I was in fact a thief, oh boy consequences as a black man? You already know what time it is on that fact. I Hope to hear back from someone will be appreciated.
I think this is a super old thread but if it is not then you need to contact a lawyer. Cvs has a long history of “cold interviews “ they call them meaning they have absolutely no evidence of anything but they pull you into the office saying they have you on camera and see if you crack ! That way they can reach their numbers there trying to reach!
I went to the CVS in Quincy MA(Beale Street) yesterday to pick up three prescriptions...the same ones I pick up every month. The clerk informed me that the co-pay on one was very high, when he showed it to me it was $103.99 almost $100 more then I usually pay. He eventually explained that it needed to have prior approval. When I asked why I wasn't notified BEFORE it was refilled he went and asked the pharmacist who said "sorry, I should have been called". I said it was a good think I had the money to pay for it since I need my medicine. I also said I would call the corporate office to which the clerk did not respond, nor did he speak to me for the rest of the transaction not even thank you. When I was putting my medications away today I found that one looked different then previous months, I called the pharmacy and was told they had change distributors. I said should you have noted a change, the clerk stated, "there is suppose to be a sticker on there" I told him there was none, he then repeated it twice more..finally I said "you can say it as many times as you would like, but there is no sticker". He then put me on hold and never came back. I'm switching my prescriptions to either Walgreen's or Rite-aide anywhere but CVS...
I have a medical plan through Aetna. Caremark CVS fills my prescription. I have had this insurance for over two years, however, this is the first year I have been charged over $1, 600 for 2 medications. I was told I had to pay a $2, 700 deductible before I could get a discount on this prescription. I was told by CVS that Caremark was an insurance company and that they were the ones who decided the price I pay for my medications. The two medications are Novolog and Levimir. When speaking with Caremark I was told that the prices for these prescriptions included a 3 month supply and that they could not be supplied on a monthly basics. I am going to file a complaint against CVS and Caremark. I would like to talk to a representative of both companies as to why these medications are so much higher this year than last year. I am going to do some research on my own but feel that the cost for these medications are outrageous.
Today would be the third time that CVS has changed my medication with out authorization. I find it very unethical to make a change to my prescriptions with my consent. Even if my doctor did not check the " do not substitute" box. Did they ever think that maybe the patient doesn't want their medication changed? No, they just assume we will not notice because we are not educated on the difference between generic and branded medications. Major retailers like CVS make more of a profit off generics than branded agents. No wonder they are always trying to switch our medications or insurance companies do not "cover" your medications. Again, I find this unethical and ridiculous to not confirm switches with patients.
I paid my deductable in January with united health care. Cvs caremark has stated several times that I have not met my deductable, but I called UHC with cvs caremark on the line about 10 times now! For them to state that the deductale wad met in January! Yet caremark still made me pay full price for my 2 subscriptions! And refuse to fix the issue. And they keep telling me to contact UHC! my health care company! Why in the world is this my responsibility to correct there mistake? Plus I have done what they requested and they have been told there is an error! I feel like the only option I have is to pay full price for the medications and then I will never be refunded for it! Not to mention every time I called them it was a different story! I just kept getting different answers every time I called! Tiredof dealing with them! But I have no choice! J paid full price for one prescription already and I do not want to shell out more of my hard earned money for there mistake!
I visited your Pharmacy located in Wildwood, NJ and submitted my prescription for Viagra. The pharmacist informed me in public with loud voice that my insurance only approves Levitra because Viagra is a "pleasure drug for recreation". It seems that she is unprofessional with her communication skills as well as ignorant by not recognizing that this drug is indicated for Erectile Dysfunction. Please educate and train your professional staff appropriately as well as training them on the repercusion of the HIPAA law violations.
I have been a customer of CVS regularly for the past two years - i shop there about every two weeks. But no more after the way i was treated tonight at this CVS. I was a victim of identity threat last week - someone broke into my workplace and stole the finance persons computer. So i had to change my bank account. I have new cheques but they dont have my name typed on them yet. I asked before i went around the store to grab some things if it would be ok to pay with a cheque. I had ID - a drivers license, and my cvs card which i have used regularly. I went through the whole process and had my shopping in a bag and then it turns out that actually since i had to write my name into the address part of the cheque that they couldnt accept it. It was very embarrassing and i felt from their reaction - the clerk and the manager who came quickly around the corner and who pretty much ignored anything i said - i felt like i was passing a forged cheque, or was doing something illegal as indicated by their reaction. I contrast this with my experience at Trader Joes - where they never ever treat you like a criminal - it seems a funny form of customer service and helps me decide not to shop there again and to share this experience with everyone i know.
This store used to be very nice, but I will not step my foot into that store again! It was disgustingly trashy outside when I drove up recently. As the doors were to slide open to enter the store, the rubber stripping from the door was swaying in the wind (for at least 2 weeks) and was hitting the customers in their faces as they walked through. When I got into the store, I was shocked at how dirty and messy the store looked. I walked through the store to the pharmacy area, stepping over merchandise just thrown all over the floor. When I got to the over the counter medicine shelves, I was so disappointed that the shelves looked so bare. Not only was my specific item not there, there was no substitute for me to buy. The CVS in Franconia, Pa., which is not even a mile away, is exactly the opposit. Always supplied, cleanand orderly. There employees are also very personable, nothing like the personell at the Souderton store who don't even acknowledge you as a customer. Bad management! I will be going to the Rite Aikd across the street from now on, since it is closer to my home than the CVs in Franconia. CVS has just a loyal customer!
deceptive business practice
I feel like i have been recently cheated by CVS Caremark.
I had ordered a 90 day refill for a allergy medication - XYZAL - as a mail order for my wife. As she had side effects from Allegra and OTC medications we had to order prescription medicine.
I received the medication on 04/06/2010 and then got a invoice on 05/25/2010 for 200$. On calling CVS Caremark I was informed that XYZal is no longer a preferred medicine by Insurance so I have to pay 200$. I asked CVS why did someone not call me to inform me that the medicine is not a preferred medicine and secondly why didnt the invoice was sent after 2 months and not along with the medicine. I was told that CVS will notify the customer only if the order exceeds 250$. I was told by CVS to return the medicine, but as they send me the invoice after 50 days i have already consumed more than half of the medicine. CVS says they cannot do anything about it and i have to pay the 200$.
Regards
Rajeev Prabhakar
That'll teach you to verify your plan's formulary for doctor prescribed medications from here on out.
city noise oridnance violation
The cvs store on 119 lincoln avenue in venice moved to that location in october 2008, after a wholefoods market took over it's old location. L. a. city has a noise ordinance that prohibits deliveries between 10pm & 7am, which still allows 15h of deliveries & noise making for the store, and only 9h of peace for the neighborhood. but, as all big gready...
