I sent an email complaint to the General Manager of Dewey Jeep
I sent an email complaint to the General Manager of Dewey Jeep. It's pretty clear, but it's too long to fit here, so I'll attach the complaint letter as a supporting document.
Fraud sales practices, **** padding, nondisclosure, lying by omission
Fraud sales practices, *** padding, nondisclosure, lying by omission. I bought a used 2017 Dodge Durango on Saturday, 3/14. Today is Monday, 3/16. Yesterday, I was reading my purchase agreement paperwork and noticed that I electronically signed for a "Theft Protection Plan" that I never discussed with the finance office during signing. I declined GAP insurance, so Mr. Davidson decided that since he knew I would likely decline theft insurance, he would skip that sales pitch and just have me sign for it, unknowingly. I never saw the actual document I was signing for until I opened my papers, it got neatly tucked away before I ever saw it. The document even has a disclaimer saying it's not necessary to purchase the theft plan to get finance for the vehicle. It is *** padding plain and simple. On the *** of sale, the $995 charge is not listed, instead, it's bundled with the total price of the vehicle, which is also a lie. The salesperson also didn't tell me that the vehicle had been smoked in. After running the heater all the way home, it's clear that this was a smoker's vehicle. I can't put my children's car seats in it until I can get it professionally cleaned out, or they too will smell like smoke. I emailed the salesperson, Mr. Johnson, because I don't have an email for Mr. Davidson, and asked him to forward my email to the right person for resolution.
My car had a problem with leaking fluid and I had to pay for the repair
My car had a problem with leaking fluid and I had to pay for the repair. But guess what? It's still leaking and now they want even more money to fix it again. On February 20, I took my 2014 Caravan to Dewey Dodge for an oil change. The check engine light was on, so I agreed to let them figure out what was wrong. This guy named Trent Owens, who works there, told me that the thermostat was bad and there was a leak in the transmission cooling line. I agreed to have those things fixed, and it cost me a whopping $870. The invoice number is DTCSXXXXXX, in case you're wondering.
The very next day, February 21, I noticed that there was still transmission fluid leaking from my car. So, I took it back to Dewey Dodge on February 24, to get the fluid leak sorted out. After they checked it out, they suddenly decided that it was actually the transmission cooler that was leaking, not the cooling line. And get this, they wanted to charge me an extra $850 to fix it. I asked them if I could get a refund for the unnecessary repair they did on the cooling line (which cost me $315.50 on February 20), but they said that the two leaks were separate issues. I didn't buy that excuse, so I declined their offer to fix the cooler and just took my car back.
Honestly, if the dealership had just admitted that they made a mistake and thought it was the lines but it turned out to be the cooler, I would have been more understanding. But if the cooler wasn't leaking before they touched it, then they must have messed something up. Either way, it's shoddy workmanship at best and straight-up fraud at worst.
And here's another thing I discovered upon closer inspection: the charges from February 20 included a coolant service that cost $155.64. They never even talked to me about it or got my permission to do it. I left a detailed message for the Service Manager on February 24, but surprise, surprise, I never heard back from them.

I've had a lot of problems with this dealership and its employees
I've had a lot of problems with this dealership and its employees. I bought a vehicle from them in August , and on my way home, the check engine light came on. There was nothing I could do since I had already purchased the vehicle. This is just the beginning of the problems I've had to deal with. They made me include my registration in my contract, claiming it was company policy, but I later found out that was a lie. Because I live in another state, they told me I would need to sign a power of attorney so they could complete the registration. It took them over a month to send me the paperwork. When I finally received it and overnighted the paperwork back, another month went by with no update and my temporary tags expired. I finally got in touch with someone and they informed me that they had lost my paperwork and would have to send me a new form. Another month passed, and I received a new form to fill out. I overnighted that back and now I have to continue waiting. I only have one point of contact and nobody reaches out to keep me updated. Another month goes by, and it's now December. My vehicle still isn't registered, and my temporary tags have expired. Finally, after 5 months, I was able to get my vehicle plated. The fees to register my vehicle were less than the check I initially gave them. After going back and forth with the dealership to get the rest of my funds returned, I was informed that the company they used to process the paperwork still has my money and will be expediting a refund. That was two months ago, and I still haven't received my money back. I have reached out multiple times to my only contact, but there has been no reply. This was my first vehicle, and they have made this experience absolutely horrible for me. I just want the rest of my money back so I can finally be done with this terrible dealership.
