I received an SMS from DHL Qatar 8.33am on August 19, 2018, stating my parcel will be received by the end of the day.
At 9.38am I contacted DHL Qatar (+[protected]) and a male operator answered. I asked about the location of the parcel to which he replied it's with the driver and did not know what time it would be delivered. I asked him to make a note for the driver to call me before delivery as I am waiting at home. I also told the operator to ensure the driver obtains my signature upon delivery to which the operator said: "ok Ill update the system however the signature is already requested".
So as not to inconvenience the driver, I waited at home all day for a phone call and or delivery. Neither happened.
Thinking the driver has a busy day, I patiently waited until at 8.34pm where my patience reached boiling point. I called DHL again and was greeted by a different male operator who informed my parcel and been delivered and received. Much to my horror and disgust, he said it was delivered to a company office named BR…. I do not know what company he is referring to or why it got delivered there as the address on the parcel is quite clear that it's not an office or a company. Even so upon delivery had the driver asked for Samuel Rico by the name he would have been informed there is no such person in this office. Honestly, you don't have to be Einstein!
A very simple task of giving me a call before delivery to help with the location and to obtain my signature that's all I requested but it could not be done. The job was too big and too complicated for your staff. Perhaps its time to let go of the incompetent staff that apply no logic or work ethics. Your customer service and lack of delivery ability has once again been questioned and failed miserably. WOW, how incompetent can a company and their staff be? Mind you, this is not the first time DHL has reneged on their words and provided woeful customer and delivery service. The last parcel I had to pick up myself because the driver failed to pick it up from the warehouse during the morning shift. Instead of receiving it before 12 I picked it up at 6 pm. Obviously, there is a huge problem with the intellect of DHL staff or they simply don't care about their work or customer"s parcels.
To recap one more time, my private parcel, which I paid for and has my name on it, with clear instructions to call me before delivery and to obtain only my signature, currently is in the hands of a stranger who I do not know and who DHL do not know. WOW, amazing stuff!
I strongly suggest you find and deliver my parcel by 9 am today Monday August 20, and offer me a brief explanation of how and why this happened in the view of my clear instructions at 9.38am yesterday to the operator. I also request an apology and need to know what action you will take against the morning operator if he did not make the notes of my conversation and what action will be taken against the driver/delivery person who did not call me as requested and gave my parcel and property to someone who has no right to it?
Failing to receive my parcel and request, I will contact Amazon and inform them of your extremely poor service, I will also inform them of how you failed to follow simple instructions and issued my parcel without my signature to a complete stranger. I will then contact your regional and international complaints departments and the media of your rubbish standards.

I order a DHL express via phone. DHL assisted me create an order online by asking all question about what is item/ where from/ where to... and then send me link to finish my order.
DHL told me clearly what to type under the description of the item exactly what she said. I asked her if i can write in English. She told me to write both and I did. In description box: I typed in both languages.
The package was arrived 2 hours late compared to the time they guaranteed. They promised that if they would refund the shipping fee if the package was arrived not as what they guaranteed. However, they told me that they couldnot allow the refund because it was my fault that type the item name in Vietnamese. Although that was DHL typed in when we talked on the phone. Also I'd already type the description in English.
Is that really a reason? You dont speak English that's why you do not get the "on time service". What if the customer who does not speak English and want to send something to another country by DHL express?
What kind of reason is that?

dhl express van scraped against my car
I am writing to report an incident that took place on Tuesday 24th July 2018 when my Honda Jazz OY09 UGA was damaged while stationary by a DHL Express van that had just been delivering to 5 Cherry Holt Lane, East Bridgford, NG13 8PN at 11.35am. The driver had his window open looking down on me as he edged past my car but unfortunately didn't quite clear it as a scraping noise was heard. I expected the driver to pull over but instead he carried on to the end of Cherry Holt Lane even though I had got out of my car. I didn't get the number plate as he drove away quite fast.
The damage to my car is on the driver's side rear quarter which while not severe is quite unsightly. It is likely to cost £150 to make good the damage. I have supplied photographic evidence. I would welcome your advice on how this matter might be resolved satisfactorily.

Driving along A1 towards Peterborough just south of st. Neots on 21st July 2018 at around 18.30. Lorry driver changed lane from outside to inside not checked pushing a Mercedes car of the road. No physical contact as driver responder quickly to avoid the collision. We were in the car behind the Mercedes. We overtook the lorry who remained oblivious to what he had done. Absolutely horrified by the DHL 'express service'!
For the past 2 years I have been ordering art supplies from Jackson's Art Supplies in the UK, in regular intervals of 2-3 weeks. Always using the regular mail service and never - not once - had any issues. I was also never charged any custom fees on orders in the amount of below 50 euros, which is the limit beyond which goods are charged custom fees in Serbia.
For my last purchase, I chose to have it shipped and delivered by the DHL - in order to receive the goods within 1-3 days, and to make sure the high quality watercolor paper sheets doesn't get damaged during the shipping.
This time around, my shipping charges were quite high - over 40 USD and amounted to almost as much as all of the goods I ordered. This order was placed on July 8th, 2018. Today is July 16, and I still haven't received my order.
When I contacted DHL Serbia (no one contacted or attempted to contact me), I was told my parcel was held at customs and that I need to sign, scan and send a bunch of documents in order to have it released. This, despite the fact the value of my parcel is 52 USD, i.e. does not exceed the 50 euro. What has made my purchase suspicious to the DHL courier is 40 USD on top - the charge for DHL service! Even though the bill provided by the Jackson"s clearly shows that out of 90+ USD *postage* costs the entire 40+USD!
I can hardly believe the ordeal I have been put through, after paying so much to AVOID problems! The DHL Serbia I talked to on Saturday assured me I will receive my parcel on Monday - today. When I realized no one is contacting me or attempting to deliver my stuff, I called again. To be told they cannot deliver my parcel today - 2:30 PM is already too late for the gents at DHL to get me my parcel... UNLESS I want to hop into my car and drive to New Belgrade to PICK IT UP MYSELF and take it home! so I have paid $40 to wait for my stuff longer than I would have if it went by regular mail, to WORK and provide signatures, documents and papers so the DHL worker who didn't used his head but tossed my package to customs can now have it back, AND to go and pick it up by myself!
Absolutely the worst, slowest 'express service' ever, with incompetent, unprofessional courier(s) who couldn't care less for his/her job!
If I didn't launch an entire investigation into what on Earth has happened and where is my order, my parcel would have probably been returned to sender, without anyone making any attempts to contact me.
I expect to have a full refund for this incredibly slow, lazy and unprofessional service I did not receive but have paid for - through my nose!

My parcel was sitting with DHL Express Malaysia for 1 week, not including the number of days sending it from Bangkok. All because of wrongly HS code declare by DHL that leads to a small amount of duty payment.
1. My client refuses to pay duty for sample item. Item was delivered on Wednesday, July 11, 2018. Why DHL EXPRESS Malaysia did not contact us to inform on the duty payment and instead of collecting it from my client.
2. Parcel sitting in DHL Express Malaysia until I got a notice from my client on Thursday, 14 July 2018. Note: Again why DHL did not attempt to contact us? What will happen to the parcel?
3. I call DHL express from Thailand on Friday, 13 July 2018 enquiring about the shipment. Miss Gurinder asked for time to check on the duty payment error. I told her that on my previous 2 samples I sent has got no duty payment. (WB [protected] and WB [protected]). I told them to release the parcel because the mistakes are not on me. She replied with the intention to have it delivered by Friday, 13 July 2018 or latest Saturday, 14 July 2018. My client has to postpone the high-level meeting due to the non-arrival of the sample from me. I was supposed to get a return call from her that day but nothing happens.
4. I received a call late evening from Mr. Sooriyan explaining about the duty payment. I have to go through the whole process of explaining the problem to him again. The urgency, the business decision making awaiting from the client which cannot be made because of my non-arrival sample items etc.. I beg Mr. Sooriyan to released the item by Monday morning and if I DHL insist I pay then I will pay for it. Mr. Sooriyan again says he will check it out.
5. On Sunday, 15 July 2018 evening, I received a call from Mr. Sooriyan and was told to pay first then only release the item. I told him I can only make payment on Monday, 16th July 2018 and will take the bank some time to transfer the money. Mr. Sooriyan than transfer my line to another person Mr. SK. These guy does not know the problem and just tell me to pay the bill. I told him my client needs the sample by Monday, 16th July 2018 noon for meetings and decision making. He keeps saying I have to think of a way to pay not wanting to know the urgency. What a sarcastic guy.
6. I have sent mail to the managing director of DHL Malaysia and he asked the bottom guy to respond. Sent another mail and still asking a bottom guy to respond. Miss Gurinder does not want to handle my case because of my urgency.
I would like to ask the following questions:-
1. What is DHL?
2. I am willing to pay DHL mistakes (Duty amount only 104.20 Malaysian Ringgit) and why DHL not willing to help?
3. They have the e-mail for complaints directly to MD [protected]@dhl.com, why are they running away from problems?
4. Can I rely on DHL for express shipment again?
5. You guys are no different from any normal government-run postal office
6. God knows if my shipment will arrive in time for my client meetings. What a bombastic ego showed by the high-level management at DHL Express Malaysia.

packaging issues
I have been importing rolls of fabric from the USA to Jamaica (W.I.). This has been a viable option as the actual weight and volumetric weight are similar. My fabric suppliers have now told me they are being made to package everything in boxes, even though DHL's Packing Guide allow for 4 key points when shipping textile rolls (#009 OPS300). By not allowing the alternative fabric packaging, DHL is doubling and/or tripling the volumetric weight of the package. This is effecting our business as not all clients are willing to pay more for the freight than was originally charged by DHL.
Please could you allow for textile roll packaging in a manor that does not dramatically increase our freight costs.

Good evening, I am writing this complaint because I used dhl services to send a package to guatemala sins the 6th of june 2018 and the package was placed on hold since june 8th 2018. Still waiting to resolve this issue as DHL still has my item. I purchased a used wallet from France, value 683.00 when DHL first tried to deliver it they wanted 237.29 for duty, hst, and processing/transaction fees. I called and asked what this really was for and they said since the shipper did not put origin of item that was the charge, I know Vestiarire Collective always puts where the item was produced and what it was purchased for so DHL was blaming it on Vestiarire Collective. I now just recieved an email after 4 calls and 3 emails to DHL and right now they will not even answer their phone.. they have revised the invoice to 160.09. This is not correct as I have contacted the Ottawa branch of CBSA to investigate as DHL is now charging HST on the duties payable which is not a HST taxable item! I sent my package through express service in thursday, may 17 2018 through goin postal frago downtown (fargo nd usa) to addis ababa ethiopia. According to the tracking result summary, my package reached its destination addis ababa on may 20 2018 but my sister went to this office several times and they refused her to pick up her package because the receiver name was not matching her name and we corrected it through online the same day. Even they asked us to go back to office we used when we were shipping, we went back and they corrected the receiver name which is hodan abdi ali, but still in 3 days they are telling my sister that she can't pick up her package yet, this is ridiculous. What is wrong with this office in addis abab ethiopia? Can I get my shipment back and refund our money? This dhl office in addis abab ethiopia has very bad customer care. My document package was sent from penang, malaysia on 8/5/2018 for kyoto, japan with the assurance to receive it the next afternoon (may 9, 2018).
Since I received a text message at 18:44 from the japan office indicating that the package is scheduled for delivery on the 11th. I was rather shocked and frantic, and requested the sender shizue yotsukura to go to the penang store to confirm.
From the store, the sender was reassure that the package was on the way and will arrive japan on may 9, 2018 morning.
Still worried, I called the customer center in kl around 21:15 japan time, and was further reassured that the shipment was on the way to hk at that time, and reassured me again it will be delivered on may 9th 2018.
The customer service agent also confirmed my number and informed me that he will drop a email to the system for immediate delivery.
This is now 19:21 may 9th, 2018, and I have still yet to receive my time-sensitive document. Thus, I just called your kl customer service office again since the japan customer service office has closed. This time the agent has informed me that the document will arrive on the may 11th. As she was extremely rude. She initially said the may 11th is the delivery date, she then changed the explanation saying it will be delivered on the 10th. Moreover, the customer service agent then told me to call the japanese office since we have no control, as she claims. The package is added with extended liability, this means that this package should be "delivered on time" and "dhl is responsible until the package is delivered to the receiver." she further says it is the weather issue, if this is the case all flights from your hong kong to japan should be delayed by weather no just the "dhl flight". However, this seems not the case. So I do not understand what kind of service and liability dhl practices in business!
Dhl is suppose to be "excellence. Simply delivered". But rather this is not the case at all, the service is falsely promised, and I have been lied to but both customer service agent. This is truly not what was promised.
This is a a very time sensitive document and is needed by today (may 9, 2018). I am suppose to fly with this document in hand tomorrow (may 10, 2018) at noon to the us.
This is terrible service, with no reliability!
I do not understand what is the value of dhl if you have worse service compared to the more cost-efficient ems run by the post office alone.
I truly will never use dhl again!

I ordered something online and was supposed to receive it within 3 to 4 business days it has been 2months now and I having gotten anything. Dhl sent me a tracking order along with the person they left my package with, however, the company was not listed as my drop off location. They claim they never signed for it and dhl has no clue where it is. Dhl contacted me and made a claim but, I having gotten my package or credit for my order. They continue to give me the run a rounds and they have yet to resolve the issue. I am extremely upset to a point where I wouldn't trust my future orders in the hands of dhl. I am highly disappointed in the lack of professionalism and problem solving ethics that dhl has and I will continue to complain until I receive my package and if your complaint system isn't effective I will take it to a higher authority.
