I got a phone call saying I can talk to my friend that is currently in prison for a few cents per minute and I just signed up out of curiosity he literally was just there one day I really needed to speak to him and I see they took $45 off me debit card I didn’t even agree to this while signing up this is insane I just bailed him out to be charged $45 for nothing! This is insane I need a refund asap

I was charged 45.99 and this company is trying to refund me for only 31.99. On 1/22 I assumed that I was signing up for phone services with Global tel link. In error I registered with Global tel. I reached out to the company and explained the issue and they agreed to a refund for the amount of 31.00 stating that I agreed to the terms of losing 14.99 if I cancel service. I never agreed to any amount because I was sent a pre-authorization email which I never completed. Also I never registered the number that was sent to me. When registering, they immediately request your payment options and then automatically deduct 45.99 from your account with out authorization. I spoke with ***, a representative, today at 1145 am who was rude and eventually hung up on me after refusing to refund me. I attempted to call back twice afterwards and could not get through.

This company charged my card $45.99 on 3/16 I went to this company's website thinking it was Global Tel Link trying to buy some prepaid minutes for my brother that's in prison so he will be able to call and talk with family. This company misleads you to put your credit card information in and then they instantly charge your card. When you go back to the website to view your account to cancel, it's very hard to navigate and signs you our (have to log in constantly). They quote "unquote", assign you a phone number (not sure why because it's not needed at all) so they can use it to scam you for a service they did not provide. I feel the site and service they (ghost service) they provide was created to pray on families with love ones in prison. I feel this company is using this website to scan people our of money with no intent to provide a service. Why would a company change you for a number that you have to use within 180 days on a plan?

intended on doing business with Global Tel link. Mistakenly set up an account with this company. They failed to issue full refund. I intended on setting up an account with Global Tel Link. After typing in the company name. I accidentally did business with the wrong company with a similar name. I set up the account entered my card number and the company automatically took 45.99 without my authorization. They never gave me an option to decline. I had no intentions on spending 45.99. After contacting them a few minutes later. Because I immediately received a text from my bank in regards to the transaction. They told me that I was only entitled to 31.99. This information is very misleading, because I never used the service, nor had intentions on doing business with them. I believe that a lot of Global Tel Link customers are being scammed after making the same mistake. This company is profiting 14.00 off of every refund after an unintentional transaction. I believe this is fraud.

GlobalTel webpage registration of information before hitting submit button fraudulently takes people's information but saids it was an error. I was directed to the wrong website. As i first tried to register it said there was an error in processing my card. So i discarded the registration. I noticed on my bank statement that a fee was charged for $45.99 i was not aware of this fee and i did not authorize this to be drafted from my account. They said that their terms and conditions are the first page i was not able to even register at all to even start reading the terms and conditions. Afterward i was informed that it was not the right website. I already have a company that i use for inmate services. These people refuse to refund money that was unauthorized taken. There are several complaints on their website with this issue. Please shut this company down they are fraudulently taking people's credit card information on the registration page without submitting the actual form by the person who is trying to complete it.

I set up this account in Dec 2019. I tried to receive calls but couldn't! 3 months passed *** they said it expired and took my money in my acct. The acct was set up in Dec 2019. The phone number they provided wouldn't work! I contacted them concerning this issue SEVERAL TIMES and they kept telling me their service works for ALL carriers! I said NOT this time! It must have been a glitch. In the mean time they took my entire balance that I deposited because they said it expired because of the 3 month limitation on the acct! I told them it didn't work and asked them to return my money in my acct and let me try it again and they refused. Why would I set up an acct and never use it? It DIDNT Work! They provided me with a new number in which to call and said it would go to my cell phone. I'm not sure if it's because I am NOT located in the state that the call is being made or not but as I keep saying it didn't work. They wanted me to put additional funds into the acct in order to use their service! I am already out $45 why pay more for nothing? They did nothing but take my money!

I was on Securus website for inmate calling. I was trying to set up phone service when globaltel popped up on the website (not sure really how that happened)Globaltel offered postcards that you can send an inmate for .52 cents so I filled out the post card and paid for it with my debit card. I thought I was paying for a postcard and when I got on my bank account Globeltel charged my card $45.99 I had no idea that they were charging me that amount. They actually charged me for phone service. The service says 90 days for unlimited calls. I did not know I was signing up for this service. I called their customer service and told them I wanted them to cancel my service and I wanted a refund the rep said I coul not get all of my money back because like $14 was for a phone number that I purchased to make inmate calling. I did not know I was purchasing a phone number to start with. I ask for a refund on5/22 the rep said I would only get a partial refund and it would be put back on my card 7 to 10 business days and I still have not received my money back. I feel like this company is very deceiving!

False Advertisement- they are not associated with Global Tel Link as they claim to be I was looking for a service called global tel link, this one claims to be that service but is not. I emailed showing everything I seen when creating my account as well as never agreeing to pay $45.99 and I never was asked if I consented to that amount it was just taken. After weeks of asking for my money they told me I agreed to having $14.99 taken from my account but I never even agreed to $45.99 to be removed so that $14.99 shouldn't even been charged. I signed up for an account, I didn't accept any fees or payments. No where in their contract does it say I would pay $45.99 either. I sent the terms and conditions over to the representative I emailed and they called me a fibber. This company is scamming many people out of the same amount, they are not GTL or GlobalTel Link associated with the prison phone system. They are fraudulent because they claim to be able to accept call with the prison and I called the prison and this company is not associated in any way with this company so they are false advertising as a way to gain personal information from individuals.

I am requesting a refund from this company that is not what they appeared to be online. They're phone is always saying high call volume. This company appears online as globaltel link. When you click on it you create an account and once you submit your information you're immediately charged. There was no warning understanding or anything informing me that they're not globaltel link. Once i submitted and was charged immediately for 45.99 using my Visa card. I immediately called them. Their phone said due to high call volume leave a message they'll call me back. Today nov.8th I called again and it's saying the samething. That's when I noticed I was scammed. I see here they're called dial91. They are scammers who portray to be another company for people who are new to needing services such as globaltel link. I read their frequently asked questions and it states they mat or may not refund if they do they'll keep 14.99 for processing. Processing what. I don't even know what they do or what they represent. They are scammers and I can't reach them. I've emailed 3 times and called still nothing from them. I need my 45.99 back immediately. They are scammers.

ONCE I REALIZED I WAS ON AN INMATE PHONE SITE AND WAS CHARGED $46.00 FOR WHAT I DONT EVEN KNOW. I IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED THE COMPANY THRU EMAIL AND REQUESTED TO CANCEL MY ACCOUNT, I SIGNED UP THINKING IT WAS A DIFFERENT SERVICE AND ASKED FOR A REFUND. AFTER SEVERAL EMAILS OF THIS COMPANY TRYING TO GET ME TO TRY OUT THIS SERVICE AFTER I ALREADY EXPLAINED IT WAS AN ACCIDENT, THEY RETURNED WITH MY REFUND ONLY BEING $31.00. ACCORDING TO THEM SOMEWHERE ON THE WEBSITE IT SAYS THEY KEEP $15.00, WHICH IS PROBABLY BURIED SOMEWHERE. I LITERALLY SIGN UP, CANCELLED AND WAS CHARGED $15.00. THIS TYPE OF PREDATORY COMPANY SHOULD BE PUT OUT OF BUSINESS, AND WHEN I EXPLAINED IT WAS AN ACCIDENT THEY DIDNT CARE, THEY JUST KEPT PART OF MY MONEY AND THERE ISNT MUCH I CAN DO TO MAKE THEM RETURN THE FULL AMOUNT.

This company's website is misleading and purposely deceiving people into thinking they are Global Tel Link, ultimately conning people out of money. The name is deceiving - Global tel vs. Global Tel Link. This is done on purpose to make people think they are adding money to their account to be able to receive prison calls. When I clicked on their link, the immediate page I was taken to was to enter my credit card information...I did so thinking I was adding minutes to my account. Once you submit and are charged $45.99, you are then take to their website that does not have any information in regards to services. I had to go to the FAQ's section to realize what I had just purchased is a forwarding number. I immediately requested a refund, literally 2 minutes after submitting the purchase. I did not set up an account or phone number. I got a response from their support team stating the would only refund $31.00 as I had agreed to their terms of a non-refundable $14.99. I never agreed to this nor did I have an option to even look at their terms and conditions. This is an unnecessary service that just cons people out of their money and deceives them into thinking they are dealing with Global Tel Link - the true prison call system.

I feel these individuals are taking advantage of the citizens in this country by running a sham business. On March 23 I spoke to my family member who's currently incarcerated and he advised me that the company I setup the account with was incorrect and that I needed to cancel asap. I initially did the account with GLOBAL TEL only to find out that the correct company was GLOBAL TEL LINK. I contacted GLOBAL TEL on March 23 I stood on the phone for approximately 37 minutes waiting for someone to pick up, eventually I got tired of waiting and I disconnected the call. I then sent them a email letting them know I made a mistake I wanted to cancel my account and that I was seeking a full refund of $45.99. Three days goes by before anyone reached out to me, I called again to check if they have received my email and finally someone answered. After speaking to the gentleman about what happened he tried to get me to keep the account I told him I don't want it it's useless to me I can't do anything with it eventually he gave up and told me that I would only be getting back $31.00 he said they would keep $14.99. I asked why he said because you made the account. I told him it was a simple mistake he told me he couldn't do anything about it. I did tell the gentleman they were going to get a negative review and I would file a complaint. That's pretty much everything that transpired between me and Global Tel!

I was going to add phone time on my phone number for our son in jail, but somehow this company jumped in on the page when I GTL was entered, after noticing the site asking me for additional information that was not asked for the previous times, it was already too late and I immediately canceled the payment and asked for a refund. I immediately received an email saying to start using the pin number and use the service, I again sent another email asking for a full refund and then immediately called their number which had only a voice message and then hang up on me three times. I called my bank to stop payment and close my account because now they are not answering their contact phone. My bank gave me their business number to call and ask for a complete refund, but the company sent me an email saying I agreed to the terms, which there was never a terms of any kind on any of the advertisement page. The company said they would refund me back my money but would keep $14.00 for paperwork and reimbursement. I wrote them back and told them I did not agree to any charges and/or terms of any kind. I told them it was a mistake and somehow it was not the service I needed. They emailed back with the same offer a few times. I told them I respectfully would appreciate a full refund to avoid any further concerns and issues including filing for what I feel is fraud via internet. so I will be sending this information to the Orange County Federal Bureau of Investigation in California.

The GlobalTel was mistaken for GlobalTel link due to website of GlobalTel. Deposited funds thinking GlobalTel was GlobalTel Link The reason that I was confused was because GlobalTels Website is misleading they don't explain that they are not GlobalTel Link, the websites are almost identical and I was not only able to pull up the facility, but the inmates name as well which lead me to believe I was in the right place. After almost a week I realized the inmate was not able to get through when he called. After more investigation I realized that I had deposited money with the wrong company, I was under the impression they were the company that puts the money on the inmates phone account, when in fact they are supposed to give lower rates, I was never worried about he rates as the inmate is not far from me. After my discovery I tried to reach out by phone that didn't work, so email there customer service who the first rep I spoke to sent me a very short and to the point email informing me I couldn't have a full refund and if I wanted my money I could accept 31.00 when I believe I paid 50.00 thinking they would take the four dollar and change fee and deposit the remainder 45.00 onto the phone account. This didn't happen, I ended up contacting the correct company via phone and had to deposit another fifty dollars. I am looking for a refund, I would like to add that at the time of a pandemic when many people are struggling I find it atrocious that these people would not give me a full refund. I have written at least three email correspondence with maybe two responses and I have yet to receive my refund. I am on a fixed income and I don't have extra money to give away, I would like to also add that I think there website is misleading on purpose, taking advantage of families of incarcerated individuals is not cool.

This company pose with a similar name to a company they're not affiliated with and refuses to refund my entire charge. I never agreed to their charge. This company charged me on 2/5, upon signing up for a service that I cannot use, stating that the charges are for a "special number". I was directed to sign up with GlobalTel Link, and instead I was directed to this website when I did my google search. I firmly believe they have created a name similarly to that of GlobalTel Link, in an attempt to lure unsuspecting consumers into purchasing phone services that they cannot use. Upon signing up, the company asks for your credit card to keep on file. No where upon signing up does it say that you will be charged $45 prior to charging you and only after signing up does it alert you that you will be charged $14.99 if you would like a refund. I am a credit analyst, my job is to review all documentation, so to insinuate that I signed up for something like this without reading the terms is untrue. Also, after signing up, only then did the website alert that they are not affiliated with GlobalTel Link; the company I actually needed. All of this can easily be proven or refuted if those that are in place to protect the consumer, test the services themselves. This is fraud. To have a company scam consumers by not letting them know what they are being charged upfront, is unfathomable to me. I've never used their services, as it is unusable and I never asked nor agreed to paying for a "special number". I sent a request on their website for my refund, and that's when and where I was alerted about the $14.99 non-refundable fee. I was told to try the services with a bunch of directions, that were also not given upfront. I emailed them back stating I did not want those services as that is not what was conveyed upfront, nor is it something I did agree to nor would ever agree to; but was emailed with another generic email that I found many customers complained about and posted on consumer complaints board.

This company Global Tel intentionally misleads people who are looking for Global Tel Link, and did not issue a full refund after wasting much time This company deliberately fools people into thinking they are dealing with Global Tel Link, whose actual website is connectnetwork.com - this is confusing as multiple other companies have websites that are closer to the legitimate company's name ie websites that contain global tel or GTL - these are not the company that directly handles custody phone calls, however. I am a teacher in a county jail, and yesterday I set up a system so my students would be able to call my google number collect. Normally, my students don't call my phone, but during COVID-19 I am unable to meet with them in person, so other methods of communication must be available. But I am new to the process of setting up my phone and adding money for calls from custody. On April 30, I signed up for Global Tel, thinking it was Global Tel Link, as it was the first result in my google search for Global Tel Link, and the name is "Global Tel". I sign up and I'm charged about $50 and then receive and email that gives me a new number that will redirect to my google number, and told to have inmates call that "jail number", which still needs to be registered with Global Tel Link. Out of confusion, I call the jail facility, then I call the company (Global Tel... still not Global Tel Link) it takes forever, and after speaking with them, I still am not understanding that Global Tel is not Global Tel Link. I wind up redirected to Global Tel Link's phone number, and while on hold with Global Tel Link (the real company) I finally realize that I had paid for a service I did not want to deliberately sign up for. Once I finally figured it out, Global Tel was closed. So I called back the next day (today, May 1) and was told I would get a refund minus a $15 fee, as per their terms of service agreement. OK, this is a deliberate way to fool people who are trying to get in touch with friends, family and loved ones who are incarcerated. They refuse to refund the $15 fee because of their terms of service, which are deceptive due to the very nature of this business platform. For many folks, $15 is more than an annoyance, and money that people might waste on something other than connecting with their loved ones, which is already expensive. They fooled me, and I am sure that they have also fooled many other people out of at least $15. I see people reviewing Global Tel on Global Tel Link's Yelp page (the company who actually services custody calls) - that is how confusing this whole set up is! This is dishonest and intentionally misleading, in a system that is confusing and inaccessible to families in the first place. It is not right that they don't issue a full refund, and even more, that they are intentionally deceptive in the first place.
