Social security debit card
I had two fraudulent charges from Uganda for almost $500 that emptied my account on the same day my benefits were deposited leaving me with $0.03 in my account. Because it takes 45 to 60 days for Direct Express to resolve fraudulent charges, I won't have any money until my next benefits payment. No money for upcoming bills or medicine. Because Direct express is considered a prepaid debit card, there is no recourse and I'm powerless to do anything. The person I spoke to at SSA said you should only use DE as a last resort. Please take her advice.
Desired outcome: I won’t the money back in my account immediately and I want the government to find a better solution to automated payments.
I am complaining about direct express
Hi i, am Patrick L Curran about my social security i, never got it a social security sent the money to direct express and they say they never got it well social security says they sent the funds 682 dollars please help me I did get my SSI but no social security please there go to shut my power off a throw me out on to the street I, was born on 03/12/1958 my address is 7 Newark Streets Sodus, NY 14551 apt/a201/7/3/21 I never got my funds.
Frauds card replacement
It is the first July. I made it very clear "EXPRESS DELIVERY!" Transparent their customer service doesn't care to get the simplest of things done. This poses an ongoing issue for the demographic of DIRECTEXPRESS (disabled, veterans, and seniors). Additionally makes our Social Security Administration look bad. We are all very tired and appalled at the ongoing complaints and dilemmas. A news channel broadcasting that their card made a senior lady wait for months to access her very needed funds. I demand they do their job or cease from it.

Treated badly by there customer service theft
They over drafted my direct express card. Of $15.38 they said Walmart stole it in May, there stealing it out of my July. Deposit there forcing me to fill out paperwork on these charges, they will not credit it back. They want me to fill out are work first, the last teller told me to call Walmart if I wanted my money back, a Hispanic person. They were making give them my information Over and over again, threatening me. Rerouting me to different people, each person was telling off. One of the tellers was an African American person… I said they can't do that and she said yes they can, its theft.
Desired outcome: I want my 15.38 credited back to my account those people fired for stealing and threatning to take everything I have
I don't see how their alleded race has any impact on the situation though. It comes across as rude

Direct deposit debit card in Texas
I am supposed to receive disability pmts. each month by the 3rd. This past month I had to call for replacement card. It should have been here by the 9th via UPS. I filed investigation to locate new card, UPS said it was returned to sender I cannot get a live person on phone, UPS can't help, Direct deposit did not help. I am in the same situation as far as receiving SSDI that is already in my account. No money at all = no doctors, no medicine, no groceries, no phone, nothing whatsoever getting paid. I have gotten the run around at every turn. My next step is to contact the attorney general. Good luck with yours.
Direct express stole $583.00 out of my account!
On jan 13. 2021 at 4:14 pm I got gas at arco 42615 hook blv in victorvile ca. And right after I checked my checking account and realized I was missing $583.00 out of my account. With a little research there was a withdraw made from schools first credit union in mission viejo ca. At 7:21 pm jan 13. 2021. I immediately contacted direct express and told them my situation. The canceled my debit card issued me a new card and filed a dispute about the withdraw made in mission viejo. Direct express was to contact me within 45 days and did not. Finally I received there decision and basically I made the withdraw and they stole my $ 583.00. One of their customer service reps told me to go down and file a police report and fax the report to them which I did plus an witness signed an affidavit stating that I was in there company at the time of the withdraw in mission viejo which is 140 miles away from victorville and at that time due to bumper to bumper traffic there would be no possible way I could have made that drive to make that withdraw. I have waited hours each time to speak to someone from direct express. Now when I punch my card number they transfer me to god knows who and soon after they hang up.
Desired outcome: I want my $583.00 with 6 months interest and change banks.
I had $240.00 dollars charged on my debit card last August, someone bought $20 and $40 egift cards from walmart, Direct express credited me $40 back, said thats all you get, called to protest this claim, waited almost an hour on the phone. I can't believe the Federal Government lets these people to do this to the most vulnerable. The whole complaint was a sham, taking almost 3 weeks to get paperwork, to being hung up on because I choose wrong number on which department to transfer call too. So disgusted.
Inadequate service
Its impossible to contact direct express customer service without being on hold for an hour or more. Their website is another horror. Its impossible to change address or password. Or register a new card after the old one expires. This company is not user friendly.

Not helpful and long wait
I been trying to get ahold of direct express for the past few days, when I finally was able to get ahold of them they where not helpful at all. I been trying to get my account fixed because I have some kind of lock on my card and The lady I dealt with was very rude and condescending and my issues never got solved. They are refusing to help me, they won't unlock my account. The company trying to say I am not really me and there pretty much stealing my money.

Locked account
Went to pay a bill online but they said my Direct Express account was locked. Tried to call Direct Express to find out why. Been waiting for 3 hrs. Where is customer service. Why s Social Security still using this company? so many complaints about Direct Express. They didn't even notify me my account was being locked and can't get a hold of Direct Express to unlock it

For the past 3 weeks I have been trying to activate my new card, but then this morning I reached a real life human and one with empathy, what all the others didnt take the time to do she did, she gave the instructions on what to do, so below I give them to you I hope it helps good luck, at the end it will if you have any money on the old card, it will be transferred on to your new card right there, again just follow everything she says,
Go the the automated service and... Press 1 for your choice of language, press
2.. And put in all the numbers to your new card only, the one you are trying to activate and just follow all instructions it took less than 5 minutes for me
After almost 4 weeks I finially got my new card activated,
1. go to the automated service
2. put in all the numbers of your new card only
3. and just follow evrything she says, it will ask for ss number, and a new pen,, it took less than five minutes,, after all this time, she instructed me on what to do, something the others could have done but didnt, so after running out of time twice on my phone, hanging up on me, after me asking what good are they if they cant help, I finially now can sleep and pay my bills on the first,,
Card/fraud department
My stem check was taken off my card and I filed a complaint with the fraud department witch took a month to get it started and then I received a letter from them saying that they didn't find any fraud on it. Thay know that I did not do anything with it but thay denied my claim. I will have a lawyer to sue them. I was told by one of there representatives that thay could see that there was fraud and that thay would refund the money taken. I am 58 years old and on disability I can't travel anymore and the charges were all out of state. Please help me resolve my issues with direct express.

Acoount has Fraud Suspension on it this morning. For what? I have tried calling customer service since 7 am no answer and it is 12 noon. I rely on this card for bill payments and my phone and water are due..Cannot get anyone to answer phone. Is there any alternatives to this Direct Express card for disability payment? They say customer service 24/7...this is not good when bills are due!

Locked Card
I was trying to buy an item online at Office Depot card was declined, I knew I had more than enough funds on my card so I tried to get it somewhere else, declined again. After repeated attempt's to contact customer assistance I finally got through to someone who told me my card had been locked due to fraudulent activity. We discussed the attempted purchase and I informed them that it was me trying to make the purchase. After a 24 hour hold to get card unlocked before I attempted to purchase same item I called, was put on hold for over an hour then informed the hold had been lifted. Once again the purchase was declined. Called, waited for almost 3 hours was informed no restrictions were in place and the card worked I told them what happened and the rep said I had to run the card as credit even though it's a debit card. Now my card is declined for both online and in-store. Now I can't even pay my bills and Direct Express is giving me the run around one person says card is fine another says locked.I feel as if my money has been Seized by Direct Express

Card locked and cant get ahold of customer service
On sunday went to use atm and told me my card was declined. It is now wednesday 4/7/2021 and still can not get through to customer service. All of my money is on there and I cant get food pay rent do anything. Customer service just keeps saying experiencing high call volumes and says try back later. I dont understand how this company can do this to so many people and still the government allows them to process our ssi and ssid so only option I have is to get an attorney to file for you to pay my late fees on my bills and send my loan to you to pay since had to take out a loan in order to eat im sure this will be ignored but enough is enough

Must have been a busy week, all my money went to Uganda on July 27th. They sent a new card out right away, got it in about two days. But the investigation packet that they were supposed to send is still not here, and they kept telling me how it was time sensitive and I had 10 days to fill it out and return it. Now I try to call Direct Express, and they have me enter my 16 digit card number 5 times, then they want my Social Security number several times, then they say they have unusually high call volume and hang up on me. These people are the thieves. The ONLY place that had all the information to change my PIN and drain my account is Direct Express. And now they are purposely dragging their feet, and avoiding me. Do an internet search and the list of people who were defrauded by Direct Express is long. They claim to be FDIC insured, and your money is safer than cash, but it's a lie. Comerica Bank should be investigated and not let anywhere near people's SSN money. I called immediately when I got a text saying someone changed my PIN. But they told me they couldn't do anything while the transactions were pending, and had to wait until the funds were actually stolen. It's like calling as bank robbers are in the bank, but the cops saying we can't do anything until they've taken the money and left the bank. Makes no sense.
