never called me back
Ordered a set of tires for my truck through this site on the 3rd of November 2011, no email other than the original receipt. Called today the 7th to get tracking information on them and the first guy i talked to said that he would call me back. Never did. So i called about an hour after that and they said they refunded my money on the 4th of November, still havent seen the money yet, Really? I put my life on the line in the Military so people can scam me? I create that freedom for you to scam, come out and take a few bullets so people will stop shooting at me for a few seconds and then take the money you earn doing it and have it scammed away...
did not honor 50,000mi. warranty
We bought 4 new tires for our truck on 10/11/10 the truck had 112, 861 mi. we had the truck serviced on 12/17/10 at a chevy dealer and the tires were rotated then, the miles on the truck were 114, 768 the truck now has 120, 912 miles on it and two of the tires have lost about 50% of the tread, and the tires only have 8, 051 miles on them.
We took the truck to the store where we bought them and the salesman that sold us the tires said we did not rotate the tires at 5, 000 mi. which he is right, we went 1, 144 miles over 5, 000 and he says that is why the two tires are bad even though their warranty says to rotate every 6, 000 to 8, 000 miles.
The salesman told me that he would replace the tires for $151.00 and that I should be thankfull for that because he did not even have to do that. I would not pay the money, discount tire needs to replace the two bad tires free of charge.
bad customer service
at 2010 September i decided to buy a spare tire.one of my relative told me that discount tires have spare tire for sale.one day after my work i went there.it was not a busy day and i was tired also.i waited there for almost one hour and finally i finally saw an employee who were coming outside.when he got in his desk, i went to his desk .when got close to his desk he told me he is helping someone else instead of offering help, this kind very very bad costumer service made me so angry.i got PISSED OFF.then i walked out.i will not go there one more time and i will not recommend this place fro any one . i don't understand why this company still keeping this kind of employees
no bussiness in this world can't stand with out costomers

incorrectly mounted tires ruined my 2 other tires
Purchased 2 Continental tires Countryside Il, 12/10 pending a trip.
During trip, 100 mpg less mileage (I have a Hybrid)& have used this car on same trip before. Developed a loud roaring noise over the course of the drive.
Because the tires were new, I took the car to the dealer, paid for a diagnostic check to find there was nothing mechanically wrong.
Had alignment check at another business, was told noise must be was from shock absorbers. Purchased new shocks.
Noise and mileage still an issue, investigated on my own, & found tires were installed with the words "inside" on the outside of the tire, tires were installed backwards.
Went to where tires were purchased, and was told the installer "should have noticed that.."sorry". They will replace tires only because I purchased road hazard warranty.
Have severe abnormal wear on my 2 other tires- they require re-placement now. Manager argued it was not his problem, he couldn't verify the wear on my tires before new tires were purchased.
Only 2 tires were purchased based on the recommendation of your service advisor, as they were "like new".
Had I been in an accident on this trip, an investigation would have determined the tires were mounted improperly, & could be considered a contributing factor to an accident.
Continental Tires responded to my email & said their tires need to be mounted correctly, or it will adversely affect their performance.
What will you do to make this situation right? I need an additional 2 new tires now because of your error.
That's correct no 1 answers the phones it's amazingly disappointing
taking advantage of women still!
My wife took here car in to get 1 new driver side tire so it would pass inspection. We regularly get our tires rotated and just bought 80, 000 mile perilles. We had about 25 to 30, 000 miles on them and when she took it in they made a big fuss about how all the tires were bad and that she need all 4 tires replaced and showed here tires that were worn bald only in the center.
I know for a fact that all 3 tires were perfect. I checked them regularly as i feared the bad one would not last until we had enough to purchase a new tire. I am just furious that they still feel the need to lie and cheat people.
If i go back and ask for proof, they will only say that they disposed of the tires or they will show me some different tires. I know that the store and the company could care less about retifying or even inquiring about the situation. So that my complaint.
talking crap behind my back!
I have been a customer for over six years and I have never paid more than $25 a tire becuase of my life time warranty. Today, I was told I had to pay almost $180 for two new tires and that one my tires was 5 years old and no longer covered under the warranty. I have had all of my tires replaced at least every 2 years or less. While I was outside getting my paperwork from my car, my girlfriend was sitting in the wating area and she could hear the guys talking crap about me. The guy I was dealing with, Jason I think was his name, did not explain to me about what was covered under my warranty and neither did the manager. I ended up leaving and going to Belle Tire and saved $40.00.
First of all the warranty covers road hazards and defects. Most tires do have some sort of mileage warranty on them. If you've been getting new fires every 2 years for $25 each, either you drive a ton of miles or you are somehow taking advantage of their system.
sold me two deffective tires in a row
Over the past four months my front left tire has blown out three times. The first time was an old tire I had on it. Not a big deal. I went to Discount Tires and purchased a 75.00$ tire. They out it on and two days later it had a bulge on it threatening to burst.
I returned the tire and they replaced it without question because I had a warranty. This next tire of the same brand lasted a week and a half before it blew out while i was going about 55 causing me to swerve and hit a curb pretty hard. I didn't think much about it and went and got the tire replaced with the warranty again. I upgraded this time to a 125.00$ tire.
I assumed the other ones must have been poor quality. This tire lasted a month before it too blew out. I returned to Discount Tire and knew something was wrong because now both front tires were messed up. Discount refused to honor the warranty stating that my alignment was off from hitting the curb (their fault as well) and it wasn't caused by road hazard.
I took my business elsewhere and got two new tires and then took it to get it aligned. Then I find out my struts and wheel hub are ruined and have to be replaced costing me another 750$ on top of the new tires. All of this was caused by a tire I purchased from discount blowing out after a week and a half. They also failed to inform me of the damage when they replaced the final tire. I have never received friendly service there anyway and I will not be going back and will recommend to anyone that they not go to Discount Tires.
How is it Discount Tires fault you had a blowout? Hitting a curb is not going to ruin your struts and hub. If there was that much damage the wheel itself would have been damaged also, and you would have been informed of that so either A. They could sell you another wheel or B. A bent wheel can cause irregular tire wear and result in you blaming them for the wear and demanding a new tire under the warranty. I hate to tell you this, but if you paid $750 to get it fixed either you got screwed or there was way more wrong that could be caused from hitting a curb! As far as informing you of damage, they don't do struts and such, only wheels- tires!
bad service
Purchase of Tires: On July 24, I took my car to discount tires to have a set of tires put on my car, which resulted in bent rims. I purchased a 2006 Hyundai Sonata from Keffer in Oct. 2009. I keep this car garaged and drive it on occassion. I took my car to Keffer Hyundai to have the tires rotated approximately beginning of July 2010 to find out that there was a knot in the passenger side front tire. The service men at the dealership suggested I not drive the vehicle until I replace the tire. I parked my vehicle and did not drive it until I got the tire replaced which lead me to the appointment scheduled with Discount Tire on July 24, 2010. I keep my vehicle serviced and checked and the dealership discovered no damage to my car other than a knot in the tire. My 2006 Hyundai Sonata ran smoothly prior to the service completed at discount tire. I took my vehicle in on July 24, 2010 to have a set of Arizona low profile tires put on my vehicle accommodating for my vehicle, however once I drove the vehicle home parked it and drove it occassionally the next two weeks it drove with a wobble. I notified discount tire of the problem and they advised me to bring my car back in. Discount Tire checked the vehicle and advised me that the tires were not mounted correctly and they remounted the tires. I drove the vehicle home, drove it a couple of days and discovered the same the wobble which discount tire had confirmed after rechecking the tires that they were not correctly mounted and remounted them, however this did not correct the issue. I contacted discount tire again on 10/4/10 at approximately 11:33am spoke with Matt, another manager at this location advised him of the issue again, he advised me to bring the vehicle back and they would recheck the tires. I advised Matt that I was going on a Military assignment on 10/7/10 and would not return for a couple of weeks but would bring the vehicle back as soon as I return. I took the vehicle back into the shop for recheck on 12/3/10 at approximately 12 noon spoke with Rhodney, manager on duty and he checked with one of his technicians the tires to discover that the problem is due to bent rims which were not bent prior to them putting the tires on my car.

My Name is Martin Flores and I have a Dodge Ram and several more vehicles and I had discount tire as supplier of my tires
and paid extra insurance for each tire that I buy; and when the time came that I had a nail on one of the tires they refuse to fix
it just because my truck has bad alignment. My question is what has to do alignment to a flat tire Witch I paid
a expensive separate insurance to specifically cover the hazards of the road as a nail on the road is,
I'm not telling them to replace the tire just fix it. if this is the case why buy extra insurance for the road hazards?
so this company is not worse to my business, what do you think? is the manage right or he is full of it.
I have to give them credit, they steal in ways you probably never thought
When I bought my GMC Sierra
Dec, 2006 I took it to Discount Tire and purchased aftermarket chrome wheels and tires.
Now 4 years later I need replacement tires, I saw a ad for Yokohama tires and there was a $40 rebate so I went back to Discount Tire and purchased 4.
Unfortunately the chrome center caps on the wheels I bought from them cracked during the installation, no problem I thought, this is where I bought them.
Andrew told me he was ordering replacements and they would be in "soon"
When I tried to file for the tire rebate at the discount website and it would not accept my information, for over a week.
A Faron Horlacher called me and told me he was the store manager, the website was taken down when the tire went on rebate.
I should come in and let him take care of it, the website went down the day the tires went on rebate.
I went to the store and Faron is not there, apparently he was actually asking me to come back and "go to war" with the person that sold me the tires.
After a few "heated words" Andrew told me he would give me the rebate rather than have all his "potential targets", customers, upset.
I guess I won, I got the rebate and I can now figure out where I can caps for the crappy wheels they sold me.
Do your self a favor, Do not buy aftermarket wheels unless you are sure of the company selling them to you, and for God's sake find some one that will at least tell you who the store manager is before you buy tires from them.
Discount Tire used to be a decent place, I had been buying tires there since the 1980's but things change and so do people.
I definitely feel that I have been ripped off, and I certainly find the "chain of comand/lies" amusing.
I'm sorry you had a bad experience. I have only had positive experiences with them.
fired after twenty years on the job
Discount tire fired my son- in -law after twenty years of dedicated service as a manager at discount tires in royal oak, michigan, over a disputed $60.00 dollars discrepency and a $200.00 customer scam.
my son in law is a honest hard working family man and has dedicated himself to discount tire and it's customers for twenty years. discount tire has branded him a thief and ruined his life. he has no other skills he has done this job ever since high school. it's not fair. he should be given another chance to redeeem his good name.
Was his District manager involved in his firing? If not he should contact him. If he was, your SIL could contact the company HR office and ask for an investigation into his firing. Were there hard feelings between the manager or DM and your SIL? Was this a new manager or DM that fired him? What proof do they have that it was his error? Most times I have been at Discount Tire it seemed that the cash drawer was shared. And in my personal experience in tire stores and auto repair facilities management it is normal to only have one cash drawer which everyone shares. If that was the case they would have a hard time pinning any loss on any one person.
Regardless, if he has that much experience he should be able to go to ANY tire dealer and get a job. He certainly wouldn't want to go back to the same store with the same staff. Perhaps to a different location but in my experience he's better off changing companies unless they actually find fault with the people that fired him and terminate them.
If he knows auto repair at all he should try to get on at a new car dealership in the service department as a service writer, the person that writes up the repair order when you bring it in for service. That's what I did. Better pay, hours, benefits, etc. BUT remember, most of the time he'll be dealing with unhappy people bringing in broken cars. Or he can try to get hired at tire stores that also do auto repairs. Probably the best choice if he has limited mechanical experience.
Either way. Getting fired isn't the end of the world. If someone calls his old store for references they most likely won't give any information past that he did work there. If they WERE to badmouth him and say that he stole money I think that would be grounds for legal action. Good Luck!
Exactly what Dawn said. He can file a lawsuit if he deems he was fired unfairly.
discount indeed
I went in to America's tire (same company as discount tire) to get a price quote on a set of XXR wheels and some tires. I asked the sales rep if they carried XXR's, and he replied that they did. I'd already priced out on internet about what my cost would be, with a rough estimate for labor. The wheels I was looking at were $89 each, shipped, from the site I was looking at. The rep told me that I'd be looking at over $1200. Now, that's a fair price for some wheels and tires. But I was looking at wheels that were $89 each on the internet, and tires that were about the same. What I was expecting was $720 parts, $60 tax, and $80-100 labor.(I know how much work it is to mount and balance tires: not much. With a 15 year old turntable, I can mount a wheel at work in under three minutes, and balance it in about ten. I just didn't want to use beat-on weights). Either that's one *** of a markup, or they really think that they deserve the same labor rate as a full-fledged mechanic.
Well you did buy a cheap ### tire in the Mojave. You get what you pay for like anything in life.
they want me to pay for their mistake
I just bought 4 brand new tires and wheels. Once mounted, I noticed that they hung out pretty far past the fenders. I complained and they insisted it was the correct fitment because their computer always picks a correct fitment. After doing a little research I found that they were wrong and that the set-up is in fact very dangerous due to potential tire/fender contact.
I complained again about a week later and they informed me that the wheel manufacturer would not take back the wheels so they can't refund me my money. These guys are crooks! Don't go there!
screwed me up
I recently purchased tires from Discount tire in Bloomingdale IL. I asked the guy helping me at the counter that i want to keep my old tires, which were in really good shape i was told no problem got the tires changed.
1, Problem after tire change TPMS on my car stopped working i called and complained about it i was told to bring the car back in and they will look it up they looked it up and tested the TPMS on each wheel they were all communicating with the device they had but won't display and show error on dash, i was told to keep driving and it should work after 20 min of driving it's been 3 weeks and after 300+ miles of driving TPMS still not working.
2, Problem when i got home i looked at my old tires one of the tires was swapped instead of Michelin Pilot A/S 255/40/19 i got Ventus 235/45/17 with a drywall nail stuck in it, when i called discount tire on that i was told you don't need old tires anyways you purchased warranty on all tires if any thing goes wrong it's covered... What kinda answer is that why do they care what i would do with my old tires the bottom line is pay a little more where you get better customer service!

discount tire destroyed our car
We are an average hard working American family. We take responsibility for ourselves and never complain, take a stand or see ourselves as victims, until now! I went to the Discount Tire store located at 1230 South Milton Road, Flagstaff, Arizona. November 9th, 2009 to have the tires rotated on our 2005 Kia Sorrento. I clearly informed the salesperson that...

Got a full set of all season radials, and got a flat one day while driving. Pulled off the road, jacked the vehicle up and took the tire in. Discount representative stated that they will not honor the warranty due to the fact that I drove on it! the tire had about 9000 miles on it. They are about as bad a weasel as can be, dont go there!
After replacing the tire at my cost, the new one was flat the next day ( like they did something to it?) when my wife drove it down the road about 5 miles...same thing again but I have to give a little credit to the fact that she actually drove on it.

They put full staff on 3:30 in afternoon which is not right when should be full staff all day bad management decisions especially when people in mountain have to drive in dark with blizzard conditions in dark for a wait list. Please look into bad management there in Colorado
I had been a return customer to Discount tire. They offered me free rotation of tires. Once there, they say my tires tread is too low and won't rotate. Ok, yo want my continued business, you just do so. If you don't ...well duh, I'll remember...right.
I ordered my tire invoice #1320454 was ordered 10/08/2022 no call so today
i called on 10/31/2022. I paid 165.11 why do they not called i want a full refund for the 18 days wait for my tires
i asked dis tire at 1538 i 45 south conroe tx feb 24/22 to put these on my 2017 ram 3500 dully and they would not do it , said they would not fit on factory rims. yet all research shows they will fit. now i have smaller tires 245x75x70 that i didnt want but had no choice because of what they told me
There is no way to activate this card on the website. The Colorado Attorney General is the next step. Fraud.
This charge was made 01/05-2018 without my approval. Furthermore I have never been to Austell, GA. This is the second time this unauthorized charge was made, the first time time was on 12/20/2017.
