I purchased a car from Drive Time in Las Vegas, Nevada. The dealer told me that yes, it was a used car, but that is why I had a warranty. About four months in I noticed a knocking sound and a jump when I shifted gears. I took the car to Drive Time's authorized repair shop and paid the 50 to have them check out the car. They said that they could not find anything wrong and refunded my money, which was commendable. Yesterday I drove to work. When I tried to head home I could start the car but could not shift out of park. I called roadside assistance and they towed it to the same repair shop. He said it would be another 50 for them to look at the car. Then he said that my gear shift needed a repair that was not covered by the warranty. Of course... I told him to fix it. Today, I expected the car and he said that they were able to fix the first problem, but now the rack and pinion was busted. He said the car was pouring power steering fluid and was not drivable. The repair bill is now $1, 100. Funny, I drove it to work just yesterday. The repairs are now mounting and guess what? The warranty does not cover what is needed. We will see about that. I am not going to sit by and let them get away with this. I know they are teamed up with the repair company. If you have a car from Drive Time I suggest you get another mechanic. One you can trust who will correctly assess the car. Then take it to Drive Time's mechanic and see what they say. If that repair is not covered under the warranty then leave. Take your business to someone else. They are currently trying to work out a "deal" with the company so I would be able to repay them for the repairs. They do not know who they are dealing with. I have not neglected my vehicle and they have you by saying the warranty is not bumper to bumper. It is limited. They can choose to pay for whatever they want which is nothing. I am on a quest to see who has actually had a claim paid because I have found hundreds of people who have not. I am not going down without a fight. Drive Time has messed with the wrong person.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Our free oil change wasn't even free, had to pay some of it. Took it to the repair shop because the 4 wheel drive light and engine has been on. They couldn't see what was wrong with the engine because at the moment the light wasn't on and the parts needed for the 4 wheel drive are not covered and now we have to pay the mechanic to even get our truck back that drivetime said they would originally waive and may I add that the mechanic said he wouldn't even know how to fix it anyway! Is this a freaking joke?!
Was sold on the 'warranty', just to find out it doesn't cover all you are led to believe. You would have to be a mechanic to understand it. I have a 2009 VW Tiguen with right at 67, 000 miles on it. The rear main seal and timing chain cover gasket went out and guess what...they DON'T cover it. I trust the VW DEALERSHIP I took it to as they have nothing to gain, however, the 'warranty' brought me a false sense of security!
same thing happened to our tiguan! We also got it from drivetime. So far replace main seal, and already had motor and turbo replaced! The car keeps breaking down, Its currently at the shop! I hate drivetime and their crappy coverage doesnt let the mechanics do good quality work. They pay them less than what it costs to fix, and everyone knows VW is a pain in the a$$ to fix.

Drive time is a predatory car dealership that preys on people with horrible credit and limited mechanical knowledge. They're warranty isn't worth the recycled paper it's printed on. They'll give you peanuts for your tradein and then sell you a vehicle that's 400% over blue book value. Then charge you 21%+ interest using their finance department. How do I know, because they did that to my daughter. I agreed to let her trade in my Nissan Sentra, until they offered her $600 for it. I told them I could sell if for $1, 500, which I did the very next day. Now she's stuck with a POS that she's already paid $4, 000 over blue book for and still owes $7, 000. I would never recommend drivetime to ANYONE, even my worst enemy. Stay away regardless of how bad your credit history is!

Hello qtdq,
We are sorry to hear about your on-going mechanical concerns. Aeverex is a separate company who administers Vehicle Service Contracts, purchased by DriveTime customers. If you are not comfortable with any of the in-network repair facilities that is provided to you, per the terms of your Vehicle Service Contract, you are able to go to an out-of-network repair facility. That out of network shop would need to be able to work with your warranty company. There is a $200 deductible for any covered items should you decide to have an out of network shop complete repairs. If you would like for us to address this matter further, please feel free to contact our Customer Relations department at [protected]. Thank you and have a wonderful rest of your day.
Hello Joe ArellanoQ,
DriveTime does not compete on price, nor do we hide it. Because DriveTime specializes in financing for people with less than perfect credit, the interest rate on the financing can be quite high. The total price of the vehicle can be higher because it sometimes includes optional products such as the Vehicle Protection Plan and Gap Insurance. At the time of signing, DriveTime reviews each document with our customers and ensures they understand the information within. By signing these documents, they are asserting that they have read and fully understand the terms enclosed. We encourage our customers to review all paperwork thoroughly before signing the contract. In addition, we record all of our closings, and a centralized group typically reviews in excess of 1, 000 closings each month to ensure adherence to our standards, including the disclosure of all terms and interest rate. If your daughter has any further questions regarding her vehicle, we'd be more than happy to speak with her. She can contact our Customer Relations Department at [protected].
Talk is CHEAP blah blah blah! They we sued by the Feds for 8 Million!
Customers should ALWAYS read through the extended protection contracts before signing and make sure you understand the criteria for "POWERTRAIN WARRANTY". Keep in mind, you ARE buying a USED vehicle. If you were buying a brand new vehicle, then yes your rack and pinion would have been covered by the manufacturer. And i assure the original poster here that there is no deal between Aeverex and the repair facilities to take your money. If you read through your contract, you will have a clue as to what is covered and what is not.
This is the same company that was sued by the Feds for 8million dollars, they can't be trusted!
Go back to your desk and get back on the phone you SilverRock shill. You have Pep Boys calls to pick up and tell [censor] the part required for the repair is a non covered component.
i was talked into getting there warrenty through averax well as of 1 3/4 years having car the war company still sends me to places that will not even look at a cvt transmission and so will cost me out of pocket to take to a dealer nissan and now the air bag system failed and not even safe to drive and guess what they dont cover it, so ill be going and having nissan do a complete dignostic on rogue then im filling a suit on drivetime and averax becouse i now have no air bag system in car and i wont put my kids in it see you all in court
Drivetime and Silverock warranty are predatory individuals that should be locked up! When a car we had 3 days broke down, Silverock didnt answer the phone. They referred us to their website. How stupid do you have to be!
Drivetime & SilverRock is the same company just found out because my Nissan rouge that I’ve had for 3-1/2 months that sold me with dry rotted tires file a complaint with the BBB in your state that’s the only way we can get the word out there
Ha - SilverRock is Drivetime suckers. They prey upon and fleece the less fortunate twice by not only selling them a POS, they can sell them an overpriced warranty that covers next to nothing along with an outrageous deductible. They keep it all in house. They may say they are separate companies but I assure you, both companies operate out of the same building. How this is not a complete conflict of interest has me puzzled. Maybe no one has bothered to look into their practices at a state attorney general level.
DriveTime your Extended Warranty sucks and doesn't cover anything and yet it gets financed into the over priced inflated sales price! Customer Relations is anything but that! Still waiting on s member of management to call me back. And what's worse is that ALL of the repairs my vehicle needs were documented by the manufacturer/dealer and tagged to the VIN BEFORE I purchased the vehicle from DriveTime. Drivetime you should have known all of this when you bought the vehicle and therefore these ARE covered repairs.
This place ought to be ashamed of themselves. My daughter bought a car 6 months ago, it conked out on the highway and it was the engine which is covered. They are trying to get out of fixing it by saying she didn't do maintenance on it .IT DIDNT NEED ANY. I even spoke to them on the phone and they kept repeating the same thing over and over like some robots. So my daughter is stuck with a car and she owes all this money on it.I told them she uses the car to take me to the doctor and shopping and work. They didn't care and to boot the car sat at Pep Boys and they didn't even call them to tell them they weren't going to fix it until yesterday so my daughter had to pay more towing fees to get it towed home and now she has to figure out where to get a couple thousand dollars to fix it.They are really a disgrace.
If you don’t mind me asking which drive time is this. I just brought a car from them and is thinking about canceling the extended warranty before it’s to late, seems like a joke.
I PURCHASED A CAR FROM DRIVETIME, THEY TALKED MY HUSBAND AND I INTO GETTING EXTENDED WARRANTY.
WHEN WE PURCHASED THE CAR IT NEEDED REPAIRS WITHIN 3 MONTHS. TOOK MY CAR TO PEP BOYS FOR REPAIR AND ALSO BRIAN TIRES. THESE MECHANICS WOULD NOT REPAIR MY CAR. STATING THAT SILVER ROCK DOES NOT LIKE TO PAY, AND THERE ALSO WAS SEVERAL VEHICLES THAT WAS THERE FOR WEEKS WAITING ON PAYMENT FROM SILVER ROCK THAT WAS NOT RECEIVED TO MECHANIC. SILVER ROCK IS A PIECE OF [censored]. BRIDGCREST AND SILVER ROCK ARE OWNED BY THE SAME COMPANY. PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS COMPANY THEY ARE OUT TO GET YOUR MONEY, THEY HAVE VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. I WILL BE FILING A LAWSUIT

LETS START THIS STAND AGAINST "DRIVETIME" scam!
I bought a Nissan Rogue last Friday for my wife and it was in the evening almost closing time, and to make a long story short one of the tires was pretty bald so I called DriveTime they told me to call silverrock warranty because I did purchase a warranty, so I took it to one of their facilities which is Pep Boys for a tire they took pictures they send the paperwork to silverrock then I called Pep Boys and they said that I did not qualify because the tire was off by 30 mm of an inch something like that it was very minut and the tires are almost bald so the bottom line is they did not want to replace it. And when I spoke to the Pep Boys people they said that tire was 5 years old and needed to be replaced I also took it to my mechanic and he said the same thing that it needed to be replaced so the bottom line is they charging you for this warranty which was about 4, 000 on top of the price of the car and they don't want to cover anyting nobody wants to take responsibility DriveTime. And Silverrock are a scam do not buy a car from these people or get that warranty I have 60 days to cancel it and I already saw and spoke to another Warranty company which is cheaper and they cover a lot more without the hassles stay alert and don't fall for the scam they're horrible this should be locked up like they said on the threats. Peace. What goes around comes around. By the way this is the drive time from Ocala Florida so beware!
