Purchased a used car (2016 Sante Fe) from this dealership in late June, and it came with a faulty motor
Purchased a used car (2016 Sante Fe) from this dealership in late June, and it came with a faulty motor. I understand that the car is used so I could not expect something in perfect condition. The salesperson pushed this car on me although I was a tad hesitant. Now on month 5, the engine is completely busted and the dealership is unwilling to do anything for me. They told me to replace the engine would cost $9K. Now I am left to make payments on a car that is no longer working. The most horrible customer service I have experienced, very unhelpful staff, and do not care what so ever about the inconvenience, damage, and costs of their actions as long as a sale was made. Manager would not even get on the phone to speak with me. Wish I would have followed my instincts.
Very unprofessional and rude service here, and a lot of inconsistency
Very unprofessional and rude service here, and a lot of inconsistency. if anyone is looking to finance a car they have to do it on their own cause this dealership scams customers, lies to customers and lies to the bank. my experiences First, when I financed a vehicle I was the last customer in the dealership because it took over 4 hours to process, it should not take that long to process a USED vehicle especially when there were no other customers in the dealership. they did this on purpose because by the end I was so tired and ready to leave I signed the forms without reading the agreement and later found out they raised the price of the vehicle and add on extra fees, and if you read other reviews i'm not the only that has happened to. second, the bank had needed extra information for my loan so they contacted the dealership, Ed Howell the finance manager, and instead of Ed contacting me he told the bank that I refused to provide the information. when I later spoke with the bank they informed me that it was NOT the first time he has told them that. when I confronted Ed he did not apologize for lying he said "it was a bad game of telephone" third experience, I wanted to cancel a warranty I purchased for the vehicle and when I called to see how to cancel it I was originally told to go to the dealership and sign a cancellation form, when I went in I was told that there was no form to sign and that my warranty was already cancelled. I went in a different day sat with a different finance rep and was then given a form to sign. when I called and asked for a copy of that form i was told again from a different rep that there was no form that my warranty was voided not canceled. there were other smaller instances that happened here that I could mention, but overall purchasing a vehicle here was one of the biggest headaches and biggest mistakes I've made and sadly the reps here are not helpful, they refuse to acknowledge their mistakes and have such terrible customer service.

Financing
I went in with Husband with a pre-approved check for financing (I a not co-signer or reference). During the process without me (wife) signing on anything, my credit was pulled for 5 hard inquires. It ha been 3 weeks and the Manager Jim Ursa (excuse spelling) is avoiding all my calls and messages. Only referring information through sales associate. I am only...

Finance manager Ed added excess fees that were never explained to me or mentioned on a new car sale
Finance manager Ed added excess fees that were never explained to me or mentioned on a new car sale. Theft Deterrent - B for $899, Pro Package for $1,650, and Propack EPP $974. The only fee that I was made aware of was one I negotiated down with Marty down to $6XX (estimate) as I never received any offer in writing and was nowhere to be found on the bill of sale.

Purchased vehicle in September and upon delivery it was noted the rear head rests were missing
Purchased vehicle in September and upon delivery it was noted the rear head rests were missing. Guaranteed they would be located and shipped to my home. Set arrived for another model car and did not fit. Was told they would order correct size...have called repeatedly, Had a friend in the auto business write the general Manager. Was turned over to the service dept and was told they located a set and were having them reupholstered to match my car. That was in December. Now they will not even return my phone calls. I did reach the salesman two weeks ago and he told me he saw both the GM and the sadrvice manager in the other room ...would speak with them and get back to me. Nothing...now will not return y phone calls.

I recently purchased a vehicle on 6/13, the salesperson Steven J*** told me that the WI DMV would receive the paper work for the plates
I recently purchased a vehicle on 6/13, the salesperson Steven J told me that the WI DMV would receive the paper work for the plates and i would not have to visit or do anything. It is now two weeks later and the WI DMV has received no paperwork from the Elgin dealership and there is now only two weeks left on the temporary permit they gave me and the WI DMV said it will take up to 8 weeks to receive new plates. I tried calling my salesperson and left a voicemail and never received a call back. I tried calling again and spoke with a Manager and they said they would contact their finance team and have them call me back. Once again i received no call back, and so i called again spoke with the same manager and he said once again he will follow up and have them call me back.

False Advertising
False Advertising. The dealership offers a price online to attract customers and when you get to the store the price is actually 3 to 4 thousand dollars more than what is advertised. They will bring a printed sheet as a standard practice showing you the higher price and how they might be able to bring it down to what you saw online as a favor for you. The dealership will offer a service fee which doesn't cover anything priced at a $1000 but they do not explain what it does. There are also no brochures or any pamphlets to show what it is either. If you refused it, you might be surprised at checkout that it was actually added without your consent. They might even play around with the tax amount to get the price where they want it to be where they can add as much as they can of hidden fees and additional unnecessary charges to the unsuspecting customers.

Well aside just the whole process being beyond poor, selling me a vehicle whose engine light came on the second day whose coil ignition I had to
Well aside just the whole process being beyond poor, selling me a vehicle whose engine light came on the second day whose coil ignition I had to change day 5 , giving me a chewed up key and promising they would get me a replacement later ,I found out that the vehicle had frame damage. They had not disclosed the vehicle was in an accident and worse yet it had frame damage and I had specifically asked numerous times if it did. They showed me car fax saying it had damage reported however no accidents and no frame damage. I had taken the car to car max after my mechanic suggested and found out not only it had an accident reported but also frame damage. I have the reports if needed Hope you can help me resolve this. This is a second time I have been sold a lemon and I have about had it with dealership taking advantage of our blind trust in basic professionalism.

I've had issues since buying my 13-month-old car; engine blew after a month, then suspension woes.
I've had issues since buying my 13-month-old car; engine blew after a month, then suspension woes. Discovered ball joint problems, had to repeatedly request my paperwork, faced unexplained charges. Car cost 10k, paid 6k, inexplicably owe 11k. Got a high parts estimate, warranty doesn't cover it, can't trade in without paying thousands more. Service has been rude and unhelpful, a thoroughly bad experience.

May I purchased a vehicle from Elgin Hyundai
May I purchased a vehicle from Elgin Hyundai. I was E.O.L on another lease with them and knew I had driven over the miles allowed. I only intended to buy if they (Elgin Hyundai) would be able to close out the lease with zero owed. Salesman Mike *** told me that zero'ing the lease is not issue. I purchased a vehicle that day, but I never recieved anything about the lease and its execution. They seemed too interested in getting me into a high interest loan, that they made multiple deceptive promises, promising to zero my lease. Month's later I recieved a notice saying I was past due on my lease, and that I owed $4k, had I known this I would have handled it, but Elgin Hyundai promised they would. I contacted a manager there, and he very rudely told me they would never do that. I feel decieved by fake promises by the management team, and now I have multiple derogatory marks on my credit that need to be handeled. I need this solved or I will get my attorney on this.

On or around December 11 I purchased a vehicle from Elgin Hyundai with a cashiers check from my credit union
On or around December 11 I purchased a vehicle from Elgin Hyundai with a cashiers check from my credit union. i also paid to have the title, registration and plate transferred. I was pulled over by Michigan State Police (MSP) and was told by the officer that I was not the registered owner of the vehicle and that the vehicle was registered to it's previous owner. I was told to park the vehicle when I got home and not to drive it until the situation was cleared up. I called Elgin Hyundai and spoke with Ed Howell the finance manager. Mr. Howell told me that none of the paperwork was done, he didn't know when it was going to be done. He specified that they never received the title from the previous owner and was not able to contact this person. When asked how was I sold a vehicle without title, he responded by saying " they do it all the time." He also stated that if i continued to complain that he was going to put it on the back burner and I might not never get it done and until then I would just have to wait and see what happens.

Dealership uses deceptive practices. They advertise discounted price that includes Freight on their website. Then when I was at the dealer the numbers they were coming up with were much higher. They kept telling me they had to charge freight as they have to pay it but I couldn't quite get the numbers. It appears they will do what they can to get you in the door, but they just waste your time. When I returned home, I saw the price online included freight already (see attached photos) so they were charging it back again at the dealer to make more money...When I gave them this feedback, their GM Mike called to give me new pricing. I tried to explain my concerns but he did not want to hear it and essentially hung up on me as he was only interested in getting a deal done. I don't think they get it...if they offered me a better deal than I was already getting I wouldn't have bought with them as they lost trust in their deceptive practices. If they were up front and needed that $1,000 they should have not reflected it as included in their online pricing already. They wouldn't let me take the sheet of numbers either, I assume because they are aware of their own practices here with slipping in add ons and fees already accounted for in the advertised pricing. I do not recommend this dealer and I made a deal with another dealership.. If you need a Hyundai in this area, I strongly recommend you try Wilkins Hyundai, Patrick Hyundai (Schaumburg) or Palatine Hyundai. They are much more transparent about their pricing, not confusing, and clear about add-ons they are charging for. If you do decide to buy from Elgin Hyundai, I strongly suggest you triple check all numbers on your bill before signing anything (They scramble up the numbers a bit on the sheet they first provide you vs other dealers which lay them right out. They also slip in various add ons without explaining them up front).
