No help yet with regards to my electricity being off
Yesterday Saturday, 12 June Our electricity tripped and when we tried to flip up the main switch to turn the power on again our prepaid box died. It went totally blank and we are unable to turn on our electricity. I call Eskom at 15H10 and after being on hold for 20 minutes my complaint finally gets logged only at 15H30 according to the 3rd consultant I spoke to. It is the next day 16H08 and no technician was sent out yet. When I phoned they tell me since yesterday there have been unable to find a technician that works in this area. And if there is they are knocking off work now at 16H00 so they won't be able to come out now. And when I phoned I specifically asked how long it will take for someone to come out. According to what I was told by the consultant Eskom's turn around time is 7 and a half hours. It's been more than 24 hours. This is ridiculous!
Desired outcome: I want my electricity to be sorted out today still. I have a lot of goods that can go off due to not having electricity.
No help from eskom regarding my elctricity
My electrisity has been off for almost 2days now. We stay in leeupoort near thabazimbi limpopo and according to eskom there is not enough complaints for them to come out and fix the problem. It is a holiday town with permanent residents, so most of the houses is holiday homes, but we as permanent residents must wait now till dont know whem for there to be more complaints for them to come out and look a the prble.
Desired outcome: Have elecrltricty today soni can give my children food to eat
prepaid meter not working
our meter is not working and it has an error 30, we even switched off the main switch and tried to load a token from next door nothing works. It first started with our plugs and lights busting and the appliances too. Please help this is frustrating .
Desired outcome: get a technician out here
No Supply for weeks
EVERY PROBLEM HAVE A SOLUTION THIS PROBLEM NEED TO BE RESOLVED THE SOONEST
Today I am on the 8 day without electricity.
Since people in Meadowlands are not paying eletricity I have paid a lot of Money collected by the community to fix Minibus issues on their own as ESKOM dont attend to our request anymore.
I don't have a choice. I have to pay them because I can't stay in the dark for months.
Minibus MDLE1/637 have more than 150 houses connected to it and ESKOM is aware of that as the result it is always faulty due to high load. Eskom employee (Khanyi Nyati) responded to my complaints on 16.03.2021 and confirmed that the box is faulty and it will take up to 3 months to replace the box. more than 50% of the houses on that box don't pay their eskom bill and ESKOM will not replace the box for us and it affects all of us including the paying customers.
I requested ESKOM to re-route 23 houses of the paying customer to other minibus that have 52 houses on them as might have capacity. The response was I will be issued with the quotation and required to pay for that service before it is completed. I thought as a paying customer this service should be given to me free of charge.
*MY REQUEST IS TO BE RE-ROUTED TO THE WORKING MINIBUS AS I CANNOT WAIT IN THE DARK FOR THE NEXT 3 MONTHS. I WORK FROM HOME DUE TO COVID AND THIS HAVE DAMAGED MY REPUTATION AT WORK SO BADLY AS I AM NOT A RELIABLE EMPLOYEE DUE ELETRICITY PROBLEMS.
In Soweto Meadowlands Zone 5 residents do not pay for electricity I was shocked when I bought a house here that the community in Meadowlands Zone 5 is privileged enough to use the electricity for free and Eskom is fine with that as they are not disconnecting them.
I will like to know why ESKOM is not implementing prepaid meters in this area, WHERE IS THE HICK UP?. Please don't tell me that the community is not allowing ESKOM to implement prepaid meters that lame excuse.
Desired outcome: Re-route all paying customers to other minibus and implement prepaid meters
No power supply
On 11.03.2021 eletricity went off due to load shedding when eletricity came back it blew 2 fues on our danger box. I logged the ticket on the same day and it was closed with no feedback and I logged another ticket and no no one have responded. Today it the 17.03.2021 we are still in dark worse part i now work from home due covid.
150 house are supplied by one danger box and we are out of electricity may be 10 times a month due to the faulty box and eskom is not replacing the box.
I am in Soweto Meadowlands Zone5 and I am paying for my eletricity I should not suffer because other people are not paying their electricity. I am eskom customer and I should be treated with respect.
My request is
1.eskom should approve our petiction and supply another danger box...0ne box cannot cater for 150 houses
2.eskom should implement prepaid in Meadowlands Zone5 so that everyone can pay for eletricity ...that the only way we are going to get fair service delivery
In conclusion it is eskom responsibility to ensure that customers that are not paying electricity are disconnected and I wonder why in Soweto community is afforded a privilege of free electricity. In my neighborhood people have not paid electricity for more than 30 years and eskom dont disconnect electricity.
Desired outcome: I want a new danger box and prepaid electricity to be implemented
Im reporting a bad service of eskom workers in Estcourt
I reported a theft of cable in Estcourt Eskom on 2021-02-11 someone came after few days to check. I phone for follow up on 2021-02-22 a lady I spoke too said they are still out of cable.on 2021-02-23 Zulu male phoned and scoulded at me he was angry becasue I did follow up and told me to wait up until a year If they dont come I must just wait
Load reduction
I live in Bramfisher phase 4. I buy my electricity monthly but in our community we have load shedding and load reduction. Why must we suffer to have both load shedding and reduction while other communities do not have load reduction. It's unfair for our community to bear the brunt yet we pay for electricity like other communities. Please stop the 5hrs load reduction and give us a fair treatment. Just because we come from an underprivileged community it doesn't mean we don't have the rights to equality.
Let be a review on load reduction it violates the right to equality before the law and this unconstitutional.
Desired outcome: No More Load reduction for Bramficher
Reconnection of tempering
Kindly assist with the above outlined description. We made a paid to eskom on the 9 of november regarding reconnection of tempering of 6050.00, and called them of 19 of december after seeing that nothing is been done. They gave us a ref no [protected] and told us that case has been elevated to their management for further review and we will shortly receive a call concerning how soon will they be coming to assist with the matter at hand. So till now has happened we calling them day by day and they pick on promising that they will come the following day. So the residential no is 2059 ebony park extension 4 mbatha. We will be grateful if we were to be assisted.

Buying electricity which doesn't not last for a day
I called Eskom hotline last week a lot complaining about tht I'm buying electricity but it does not last for a day, I spent 400 last week loading it buying 100 each but for a day it does not last, I was told tht thy will send one from mabopane to check the problem but I never got help even now, now my meter box is showing 30 not working at all, I hve too much reference but never help [protected], [protected], [protected], [protected].
No electricity in my household since Wednesday the 11th November 2020.
I call customer service on Wednesday to inform them about my problem and they give me this reference number [protected] and my problem was not resolved. I call again on Thursday and they give me another reference number which is [protected], still my problem is not resolved. On Friday morning I call again and they said the technician is on his/her way to my house, then I call again at 11 am because no technician has arrived. They give me another reference number [protected] still waiting even now. I buy electricity coupon but I struggle to be help and those who r not buying electricity they get help fast. It mean I should be corrupt and connect electricity illegal because now food are decaying in the fridge and without electricity I failed to perform basic things such as cooking, using warm water etc.

Call centre is the problem
We are having daily outages and have used all the options to log complaints but they are not being heard.
I send an sms every 2 hours when we experience an outage and get the standard reply proving it was delivered. Call centre operators take an average of 12 minutes to andwer and then pretend they cannot hear you or put the phone down whenit suits them.
Who is consolidating emails, call centre logs and sms. only when these are consolidated will the service improve. the CEO is being given only a portion of the complaints and there is one person earning a large salary who is deciding which portion to report on.
It is frustrating living on a farm and depending on electricity for security.
Its time for change.
No Electricity
We have been without electricity at Braamfischer Phase 2 for four months now (since June to date). We reported the matter and the transformer has not been replaced. This is really frustrating.

Electricity box outside home not properly repaired
On the 12th may 2020 the box infront of our house burnt down to the ground and it took the eskom crew +- 1 and a half hours to replace and rewire the box. They never went to the houses to check that they are connecting the correct houses. Since may the people on prepaid has never bought electricity and we that are on the monthly billing systems has received bills of +-r3000 when our bills was always between r1200. My neighbours and I have been complaining since then and to date no one has come out to check the boxes. I have all the email addreses and to date no one from eskom has come out to erfort avenue in elsies river. We have complaint telephonically and via emails to the below email addresses, but to no avail.: customerservices@eskom.co.za, jacobsjd@eskom.co.za, jacobsj@eskom.co.za, govany@eskom.co.za, arnoldma@eskom.co.za, saulsj@eskom.co.za, mbizaoz@eskom.co.za, gelderr@eskom.co.za

Power cut
The Eskom guys came to cut our Electricity at 2am on Tuesday morning all because they had a disagreement with a few community members a day before, the painful part is that they cut even for us people that buy electricity, this was deliberate and I feel they were just trying to prove a point, but I think whatever point they were trying to make we get it now, it's been 5 days now and we still dont have electricity, this is not only affecting our pockets, but it's really frustrating. I am a resident of Protea glen extension 27, our community leaders have been going to the randfontein offices to try and resolve this matter, but nothing has changed. I dont know where else to go for assistance if the Eskom offices are unable to help us. I feel like our area is always victimized by Eskom because this is not the first time we are left in the dark like this. Please someone assist us.
Not having electricity since early june 2020
Our electricity went off the whole area earlier in June and when it came back it was weaker suddenly it went off again and only half a block we then called eskom as usual we will be told that our meter numbers are being investigated and we do buy electricity we were told that they dont have electricians up until now there is no help its almost 3 months now and we are tired of asking people to charge our phones and help with putting our food in the fridges. We really need help we feel its it's too much now it would be understandable if it was the whole area but its not like that. Please help us with this we are staying in Sebokeng zone 12 ext
Being charged for a point that was disconnected 5 years ago
After several requests to Eskom we finally got a final account on 04/09/2014 with email confirming move out on/of point on account [protected]. Then on 2019-01 we received an account again with an amount of R92 147.15, which we ignored as this point was disconnect and not being used by us. Several emails was sent to [protected]@Eskom including CC to customer services
stating our case and attaching all relevant documents as proof. Still 2 years later Eskom keeps us responsible for the outstanding amount which we did not use, and we are unaware of why and how in the +/- 4.5 years the meter moved on with 584 units. Biggest part of the account is the Service and administration and Network charges which we can't be responsible for as we closed the account and did not use the point. We have stated our case with a gentlemen which we were refered to by Rina Koekemoer by the name of George Mkonto which inturn again refered us to Hosea Mothap. I hereby request that this account be written off to solve the problem and it not again be moved to any of our active companies, as each point has its own farmers paying for it and supply water to many different people and the area. Your favourable response in respect is awaited.
My house has low voltage, can't run stove, microwave borehole pump tv.
My house has low voltage, cant run stove, micromave, borehole pump tv. Logged a call with eskom and was told that my meter number is under invetigation becuase I did not buy electricity for the last 3 months. I last bought r500elcetricity in april trying to avoid it running out while in lockdown because I dont live in this rural house as am based in centurion and am not home all the time. It is a known fact that people in my street in particular tempered with elecricity poles and thereby affecting voltage on my house. Now for the mere fact that I bought r500 electricity, eskom told me it appears as though I am stealing electricity because I am supposed to buy electricty every month and not buy bulk which lasts me for months.
Security refund after moving out
On 14 Feb 2020 I informed Eskom that I have moved out of my property and asked procedure to claim refund. I obtained the move out reference [protected] which I submitted together with account number [protected] and meter number [protected]. They requested a proof of bank details which I submitted three times. No refund. I received several letters from Eskom apologising for delayed refund due to Corona lockdown, then I suddenly received a final bill where my security has been cancelled and I am told that the money was unclaimed. How can the money be unclaimed if Eskom acknowledged all my letters they have received to claim my security held by them? They even apologised for their poor service. Today I was told that my correspondence with them has been closed. Why? Is this a way to scam customers out of money that Eskom legally owe to them? Please assist.
