I am 19 years of age, and I went into family dollar in salina, utah to buy me 2 pack of cigarettes. The lady at the counter got me the packs and then asked for my id. I handed it to her and everything seemed like it was okay. She put my birthday in (9/18/00) and she immediately snapped and said, "I can't sell these to you." I stayed calm and asked her why. She told me that the law in utah has changed, which to begin with it has not. The law for utah's smoking age does not change until july 20th, 2020. I understand if her system wouldn't let her sell smokes to me, but the way this lady went about explaining why, was rude, indecent, and extremely unprofesional. I I had tried to tell her that the other manager there, (which she informed me had been left go) had said to me that I could come in and buy smokes.in saying that I was also getting to apologizing for the misunderstanding, but before even hearing what I had to say, she went back to yelling at me and belittling me. She treated me like I was stupid for trying to go in there to get a pack of cigarettes. If family dollar business let's their workers treat people like that over a minor misunderstanding and the costumer trying to understand and apologize, I would just like to state I will not be going back to salina family dollar while she is working. I really do hope something is done about this unprofessionalistic worker.
