On the 02 June 2018, I sent an email with regards to the full amount outstanding for my account that was in arrears as well as the banking details for payment to be made.
On the 03 June 2018, I received a response from Tanya Coetzee who is your Administrator – Customer Services rep.
She responded by giving me my full amount of R4300.99 as well as the banking details for both FNB and Standard Bank.
On her email she said that I should use my account number as my reference.
On 04 June, I responded with another email saying that payment was made to which I received another response saying that all balances was frozen, and the debt was SOLD without me having any knowledge about it.
When she eventually informed me who it was sold to, and I enquired about a paid-up letter and she cannot assist me.
How could you first allow me to make payment directly in the first place when you knew that my account was frozen and sold to someone else?
It’s been a whole back and forth during this time to get this issue sorted because now MBD collection agency has decided to issue a summons for the amount of almost R7100 when I have the proof that payment was made to Foschini for the amount of R4301.
I have proof on email from MBD that Tanya was supposed to provide me with a paid-up letter seeing as payment was made to your company.
Emails as well as phone calls has been continuesly been made between myself and MBD, and its always different people who is responding to my emails. MBD has even told me that Foschini was supposed to issue me a letter but they have not. They have not even informed MBD about the payment that was made even though the account was sold.
I find this highly unprofessional as well as unethical as my account was sold without my knowledge in the first place.
Up until now I have not received any response even though I have sent emails.
Claimed loss: R4301
Desired outcome: I want to know who is going to be held responsible as Foschini gladly took the payment . Where's money that was paid. Why no response to emails sent?
