Founders Insurance worst company ever

On Sunday November 6, 2011, I found my 2009 Hyundai Sonata crashed while being parked in my parking lot. It was a hit and run and happened overnight, so there were no witnesses. So i filed a police report and and Monday morning I contacted Founders Insurance claim department. I was assigned a claim number and was told were their body shop was, and that was pretty much it. I took my car to the shop on Monday to get an estimate on the damage, the shop submitted the paperwork to Founders the next day. After countless attempts to contact James Taone ( he never answers the phone), I am still driving, a week later, my 5 month old baby in an unsafe, crashed car. They are nowhere to be found. I left them at least 5-6 messages a day, but nobody returned my calls. I just hope the situation will resolve itself, otherwise I will pursue legal action against them. I have been a loyal customer for 3 years. This is getting ridiculous and I cannot understand what is it taking them so long. Needles to say I started looking for another insurance provider. My advise: stay away from them at all costs.

Founders Insurance not settling in a professional time frame

Hey everyone I was invovled in a accident on feb.14 2010 on interstate I290 by a woman who was driving too fast for conditions on a bad winter day! Anyways my car was totaled and I was injured as well. They paid out for the property damage but did not pay(to this day oct. 6 2011) for the injurys. I have one of the best attorneys in chicago fighting the case and its been almost 2 full years and still nothing. My lawyer try to get them to settle and there not even close to doing that. And on the police crash report it clearly states that the woman who had founders insurance was at fault 100% driving too fast for conditions she was even ticketed. I went to the hospital the very next morning because with all the excitement I didn't feel any pain right away. But all I had thank god was severe muscle spasms and bruises. I went to therapy for almost 2 months and I was a ok but now who gonna pay these bills? Founders insurance doesn't wanna pay for nothing in the world. But now I'm in the process of filing suit because no matter what there gonna have to pay wether they like it or not! They shouldn't insure careless drivers to began with! Just wanted to let all of u know that its almost gonna be 2 full years and I still haven't got compinsated for the hospital bills, therapy bills, and pain and suffering! Founders is the worst insurance company in the world!

On December 27, 2011 my parked vehicle was involved in a apparent Hit and Run. The "accident" happened in front of my neighbor's house while they were standing on the driveway in plain view of the Hit and run. They were able to get the license plate number of the car that hit my vehicle, thankfully, i was able to file a police report. The police send a letter to the driver and he acknowledged that he hit my car and provided an insurance Card from Magnum Insurance. While trying to file a claim with Magnum they, Magnum Insurance, transferred me directly to Founders Insurance. I was able to file a claim and they did send me to a "body shop" to get an estimate. The shop is nothing but a large garage not confidence inspiring at all. Once the Estimate was done, I was told that I will be contacted by someone from Founders to finalize the details. That was over 5 weeks ago and none has called. I tried calling them on January 17, January 24, and February 6 and all I was able to do leave a message on someones Voice Mail. i tried using their automated service but my Claim Number was not recognized.
This is the worse possible insurance company that i have ever heard of.

Founders insurance is the worst insurance experience in my life. I got into accident and its been 2 and a half week. I have been trying to contact them Nobody ever answered their calls. So i decided to pay a visit at their office. And had to wait 2 hours in order to ask about whats going on, which they say i didn't have appointment. Well I would've had an appointment if they do answer their phone calls. How many times a called them and left a bunch of voice-mail. Finally I sat down and talked about an hour the process of the claim. She said she would after estimate comes out. She never called me back. I would never suggest anyone to FOUNDERS insurance. If anyone is dealing with who has founders insurance how unfortunate for you.
WORST customer service rude people and liars! I bet a lot of people would definitely agree with me.

Founders insurance does not provide service. Our claim was denied since the insured would not provide a statement? We were not at fault & do not carry Founders, Now they (Founders) will have to pay State Farm (our company) and the insured ( Wilfrido Suarez) will also have to pay more than if they just made good on their responsibility.

I, too, was involved in an auto accident (11/2010) with the other driver being insured by Founders. I was stopped at a light behind another dozen cars when I got rear-ended by someone driving too fast for a rainy evening. Myy car was only 2 weeks old - smashed the rear end which they paid for after two weeks of making calls to the claims adjuster who never returned my calls. Now being a little over a year, I have been trying to settle for doctors bills, pain and suffering and inconvenince. My med bills are not being paid and they said that I did not receive a "referral" for going to the doctor I went to. First of all - I don't have to have a referral from Founders. Again, it took over two weeks before anyone would return my call so did they expect me to sit in pain for that long? I think not. I missed work to go to doctors appointments, had to have a babysitter to accommodate doctors appointments, spent time on the phone trying to get thru to them or get someone on the phone because one of their insured parties was not paying attention to the conditions or her driving. She was cited - I was stopped completely at a red light - how can you turn this on me and make me feel like the guilty one and on top of that refuse to pay the medical bills - and I might add for injuries that may never go away. I have friends in the insurance business who when I told them which carrier this driver had, cringed and commented "GOOD LUCK IN TRYING TO GET THEM TO PAY". Also hearing what the above person mentioned, "the worst sub standard insurance company in the state of Illinois." I believe Founders is acting in "bad faith" and should realize they are adding stress to an already stressful incident in people's lives. Losing precious time holding my grandchildren and being unable to run and play with my children has been been time I will never get back - Presidio (and I may be spelling the incorrectly and I apologize) is the claim adjuster's manager that I have had to work with who has treated me like I did something wrong...I did not ask to get hit. Remember - I AM THE VICTIM. Do what is right, Founders. Take responsibility for your clients actions - isn't that what we teach our children? Now I am too having to obtain and attorney which is just going to cost more money and take time on my end and ultimately Founders end. Good Luck to you, Pito.

Founders Insurance bad claim service

I was in an auto accident about three weeks ago with a person insured by founders. Sandra Brown the Claim adjuster called me on friday June 17, 11 and we spoke regarding the car being totaled and my personal injury and she politely told me that I should hear something from her by early next week. Here it is today June 27, and I have not heard anything. I called and left a message on friday June 24, 11 from someone name Emily and she offered to send me a check for a third of what my car is worth so I ask to speak to Sandra Brown regarding the medical bill and the personal injury before accepting the offer for the car. Today I must have called them 25 times with no answer and no return call from all the messages I have left. So now I will be contact a personal injury attorney to persue this matter. Especially after reading this board this is terrible and very shady. This company needs to be stopped I will also per sue this matter with the Insurance Commission and BBB and whom ever else I need to so that nobody else have to go through this BS. If you thinking about settling this with them think again legal action need to be taken.

Founders Insurance poor claims service

I was rear ended by someone who had Founders. My first complaint against them is that they do not do business with any of the established repair centers. The choices for getting an estimate are inconveniently located "noname" shops. Not wanting to deal with any of these places, I elected to file the claim with my insurance company and have them go after Founders for the deductible. I got the estimate at one of the established chain auto repair places that my insurance uses. My insurer was, of course, unable to get the full deductible from Founders. People, please get your insurance with a responsible company.

Founders Insurance fraudulent claims process

My car was struck by a person insured by Founders Insurance. A claim was opened and I was told to go to a repair shop authorized by the company. This repair shop did not seem reputable. I tried to tell them about the damage I was concerned about but the shop seemed intent on making excessive repairs. Without ever interviewing the driver, Founders said that they were denying my claim. After 4 weeks, I finally had a manager get involved in the process. They have provided no proof of investigation. They only left a message on my voicemail stating that their client did not hit my car, but if they did hit my car, it must have been due to my making an illegal turn. Clearly, this company is engaged in fraudulent practices. Iam forwarding my complaint to Attorney General's office for investigation.

I am experiencing the same exact issue. I was sitting at a stop sign when a much larger truck tried to gun through the intersection at a high rate of speed to make the turn to beat another car. The driver who spoke no English took the entire front end of my Mini-Cooper off.
A policamn was sitting right there. She came to aid and found that driver totally at fault.
This was 3 weeks ago and I filed a claim with their office. Thus far in 3 weeks I have heard ONCE from someone who spoke very little and very broken English saying that they did not think it was their driver's fault based solely on what that driver said and NOT on the police report. They claim the police officer misunderstood his English.
They refuse to even LOOK at my car which clearly shows I was hit head on by a much larger car.
Now no one at Founders will so much as RETURN my phone call let alone help me.

Founders Insurance company blatantly backed out responsibilities

On April 18th, 2009 at approx. 12:30 a.m., my 2003 Mercury Sable was parked when it was struck on the left rear-side by a DRUNK DRIVER! The accident was reported immediately to Founders Insurance Claims Dept. toll free # [protected]. I filled out a lengthy accident form required by the State of Indiana for persons involved in an auto accident. The young lady who was DRUNK had insurance with State Farm. When I told Founders ins.who the DRUNK drivers' insurance company was (State Farm) they were ecstatic to tell me this did not involve Founders ins.anymore and I should direct all my efforts of being compensated toward State Farm Insurance. According to Carlos Morales my claim adjuster from Founders Ins.(who was terminated recently) said "They're a good insurance co. They'll work with you." "I'll just close this file and you won't have to call us anymore about this claim. . . " Are you kidding me? State Farm paid my lender a measley settlement less than the blue book value of $5700. I owed $8600. I sought the Indiana Atty. General office against the dealership and won in June 2009(no settlement) but the balance was erased because my car wasn't an "LS" model. I am pursuing a small claims trial against the DRUNK DRIVER ON Dec.14th. Founders will be pursued legally and I plan on dragging this insurance company's name in the dirt like I've been without a car for 8 1/2 months. I have been a policyholder with Founders Insurance faithfully for 4 years. I had COMPREHENSIVE COLLISION (full coverage). When am I going to be covered?

Founders Insurance claim neglect

To whom this may concern:

My name is Jhelisa Thompkins and I am writing this letter of compliant because my car has been totaled. My calls to Founders Insurance Company have been continually ignored and my child and I have no vehicle for daily transportation. This forces me to bring it to question the business pratices of this company and I wonder how they manage to stay in business with such questionable procedures. I have been without my car for two months now and I have yet to speak with a real person nor have my several messages been returned. I feel as if I am being ignored and I am seeking counsel as to how I can recieve satisfaction in this matter. What kind of place is this that totally ignores its claims as well as its claimants. The pratices of Founders are deceitful, manipulative, frustrating, and unfair. They are people with out conscience, I am not a vindictive person but I wish they could experience what they are forcing me to go through. They are pushing me to anger and I will not be ignored. Can you say LAWSUIT/ DAMAGES, PAIN & SUFFERING. I had to miss a week of work I was so upset I told my boss. I was surprised when he told me he had the same problems with the same company, when the church van was hit. He told me it took him 90 days before he got a response. Since he is a Pastor and they did this to him and the church there is no telling how long they'll make me wait. My last recourse will be to file legal action against Founders. My court day has come and gone, and the case was thrown out the insured hit my car and is finanically responsible, she is to replace my CAR.

I had to hire an Attorney because of the same situation, I filed a complaint with the Illinois Department of Insurance where I was not successful. I also called the Governor of Chicago where I was told that the only thing they could do is send my complaint to the Department of Insurance which I had done. But now I feel confident that this is going somewhere my attorney sent UAI and Founders a letter to show up in court.
My accident was in August 2013

Founders Insurance accident claim

So my wife was in an accident where our car was rear-ended by a Founders Insurance policyholder. Fortunately, she was was unhurt but our car sustained considerable damage. The other car sustained alot of damage as well and even had the windshield shattered and both front air bags deploy. Strangely enough, the driver of that car drove that car from the scene with the bags out (shows you the mentality of a Founders customer). At any rate, we went and got our estimates that day, one from a shop of our choice and from the 2-bit body shop they sent us to here in Berwyn (you should see this place ... it should be called BondoWorld and it is on Ogden Ave. in Berwyn). Coincidently, after telling a friend that our car was in an accident, he blurted out "Don't take it to "XXXXXX, they will f your car up worse" ... the same body shop that Founders sent us to and my buddy had no idea we got an estimate from there! So moving along, we were told our estimate would be submitted by the following Monday (this happened on a Friday). Well a week went by and we called Founders. Our claims adjuster, Susana, said she had not received the estimate yet. I called "BondoWorld" and was assured that the estimate had been sent 2 days prior electronically to Susana, not the Monday we were promised but close enough. I further called again the next day and was told the same thing by "BondoWorld". So for the next week, I left numerous messages for Susana, none of which was returned. Finally, I called Founders and asked to speak to someone else and was directed to Javier, the Claims "Team Leader" ... you guessed it, I got his voicemail and no call back but suddenly i got a private call on my cell ... you know the type ... when someone calls you anonymously and no number appears, making it less likely for you to pick up the call. You guessed it, it was Susana leaving me a message that she had not received the estimate yet! How can a public insurance company make a private call like that? I know for a fact you have to punch something on the phone to disguise your number. I called Javier again and of course "Javy" can't return my calls either. So here I am with a car with a trunk that won't shut, a passenger door that won't close completely and 5 kids that need transportation to everywhere. Oh by the way, the time we were able to speak to Susuana, her advice was to go ahead and claim the accident on my own insurance and let them fight it out ... this way I could get my car fixed. My Allstate agent and I chuckled about that one ... but even they cannot reach this mysterious Susana or Javy. By the way, all of these people are hispanic, including the driver of the other car. I am not saying this to be racial, because my wife is also hispanic. They tried to play the "no speak ingles" thing with me and were rather taken aback when my wife spoke to them in spanish! So my advice is 2 fold ... do not get Founder's Insurance and if you have an accident with a Founders policyholder, GET AN ATTORNEY IMMEDIATELY ... I am doing so tomorrow. Thanks for reading this, any advice or comments (or a dirty a$$ attorney), contact me at [protected]@comcast.net.

I'm a Founders client and was very offended about the comments made. I will copy and paste them below:
1. (shows you the mentality of a Founders customer).
2. (you should see this place ... it should be called BondoWorld and it is on Ogden Ave. in Berwyn.
3. By the way, all of these people are hispanic, including the driver of the other car. I am not saying this to be racial, because my wife is also hispanic.
4. So my advice is 2 fold ... do not get Founder's Insurance and if you have an accident with a Founders policyholder, GET AN ATTORNEY IMMEDIATELY ...
I would like to point out that you are being racial and judgemental because a business is located in a certain area or the employees are hispanic. Things don't always go as planned and delays are not accounted for with any claim. You were in an accident. Did you hit your head or was it always messed up?

Founders Insurance 90 days unable to to talk with a real person. only voice mails who don't return calls

On April 5, 2009, our church van was hit by a man who is insured by Founders. Initially I spoke with a Juliette Romero. That was on May 29th. Since then I have been unable to contact anyone except a voice mail. I'm positive that no one is interested in returning our calls. We were sent to a repair shop, pictures were taken, and nothing has transpired since then. I even called the repair shop to inquire about our claim. We were not surprised to discover that no action had taken place on there side either. How do companies who exercise these types of practices stay in business. To date we have submitted 56 calls to Founders without response. The frustration is mind boggling. To recall a phrase from my days with DOD " Companies such as these should be dealt with with EXTREME PREJUDICE. Total annihilation is suggested but as a Christian I will leave the situation in the hand of the Father. After all it's his van.

Founders Insurance accident claim#[protected]

I was injured as a result of an auto accident in which your insured was at fault. I was eastbound on Touhy in the right lane, when Alina Kowalski suddenly pulled out of Nagle, where there is a stop sign for traffic on Nagle, into traffic on Touhy, and struck the passenger side of my car. On file should be a copy of the Founders Report of Accident and claim, which further describes the accident.

When your insured hit my car, I was thrown against the inside of the driver's door. There is a small indention in the door panel where my elbow hit the door. I had pain in my neck, lower back pain, and pain in my left shoulder as a result. I had a contusion on my knee cap, an abrasion on my left elbow and an abrasion on my left shoulder. I had to stay off work for three days due to the pain. It was painful to kneel for at least a week, and the pain in my lower back continued for about two weeks. The neck pain and muscle strain continued for several days. I went to my doctor's office, Western Springs Family Center, that day, and was prescribed pain medication, which I took. And was told not to go to work for the next two days, as well as that day.

I have submitted the breakdown of all the medical bills, medications, car rental agreement and lost wages as a result of the collision, which totaled $884.35. I believe $2000 for the pain and suffering I experienced is reasonable.

I have filed a complaint with the BBB case#[protected] and on 1/7/09 they received a response from Lauren Mc Farland claim manager. Her response was they are awaiting proof of lost wages from my employer. I told her that the lost wages form was faxed to them on 8-21-08.
On 1/27/09 I spoke to Lauren Mc Farland about my claim, she had indicated that a check was sent to the body shop for the rental re-imbursement. What I cant understand is why? I don't live their. She called them to find out if they still had it, they didn't, so she cancelled the check and re-issued a new one to me which I received a month ago. I also signed a release form for my medical records on the date of the accident 7-2-08.
I have repeatedly left messages with the claim manager and rep. I don't understand why its so hard to call with a follow-up call or update on the claim. I want to settle this claim, I fell this organization has been dragging their heels to pay out compensation.

While I understand that the complaints that the claimant has. An injury isn't worth three times your specials. Thats simply not reasonable. There was no ambulance ride, no ER and very light follow up. Where is the proof of your injury other than your subjective complaint. Quite frankly there is none. Although you are certainly due some recovery but certainly not the amount you have set your sights on.

Now speaking on your commenter who is utterly ignorant on how claims work. They only had liability insurance... Hm. Well it is certainly no one's fault but your own to choose to not have adequate insurance coverage. Your rental policy you agreed upon with agent so your rental will only be as prescribed on your declarations page, probably 20-25 dollars a day maximum. Any mount additional to that is your responsibility, whether you have State Farm, Farmers, or Founders. You can rent a car in your daily rental amount, no Insurance company is going to pay the "collision" insurance on a rental. This again is your fault not the insurance companies. In addition, when you are struck by an uninsured vehicle you do have to prove certain things. Until you have met the burden of proof, which is not the insurance companies responsibilities. In addition, did you make a police report did you have the other persons name etc to prove if they do or do not have insurance. If there is information the insurance company must write to IDOT to determine if someone is uninsured, that process can take 1-5 months depending on how quick IDOT wants to work. This certainly is an unfortunate circumstance but it is what it is.

Bottom line, insure yourself adequately. Don't blame someone else because YOU CHOOSE to not have proper coverages or inquire with your agent what certain coverage means. Uninsured motorist claims have a significant amount of proof you must provide as the insured person. Be realistic and reasonable. Ask questions to learn more.

I too am a victim of Founder's Insurance. I was parked on August 16, 2009 at a friends' house when I was rear ended. I too have two eyewitnesses who saw the person hit my car. I called Founder's the next day to report the claim and was sent information about the accident which I have filled out and returned to the company. It has been 4 weeks today since the incident and still nothing. I called "The Department of Insurance" and also founded out that I can not leave with any of our vehicles covered under "FOUNDER'S INSURANCE COMPANY the state OF ILLINOIS because they will not be covered if involved in an accident and that my son, nor his wife are allowed to drive our vehicles, also if we were to have to rent a car we would have to pay the renal car insurance because FOUNDER'S will not. Also, it can take up to 6 months maybe a year to settle this claim depending on the outcome of the court date and what happens to the person who hit my car.
The person who hit the car doesn't have insurance and just because we only have liabilty we have had to do all the foot work for this company. SO COMSUMERS BEWARE OF FOUNDER'S INSURANCE COMPANY!Also my damages are $552.00
Sincerely,
Y & L Champlin

Founders Insurance claim

BEWARE, DONT BUY INSURANCE FROM FOUNDERS INSURANCE CO. IN CHICAGO AREA.
i am in my 50s with a perfect driving record, and, unfortuanly, have founders insurance. after work, with ice and snow everwhere, i accidently just hit a cement pole in the parkinglot. no other cars, no injurys. since i have never had a claim in my driving life experiences, i really didnt know what to do, and since my car never stopped running, i drove home 10miles. the insurance co. sent an investigater tomy house toi inspect the damages. he never lifted the hood or started the car. so, the insuracne claims adjuster aqpproved repairs, and the car was towed to a nearby dealer's body shop. here is the bazare part.
the insurance agreed to pay, so, the body shop did the front end body rep[airs, but, for some reason, the car wont run, and the insurance co. refuses to pay mechanical repairs, stating the problem was pre existing. how bizarre is thaqt? this is a newer car, and obviously was in driving condition at the time of the accident, or how could the car have driven into acement pole, and back home? so, the body work is finished, yet, my car sits in the body shop because it isnt running and the insurance wont pay. this has been going on for about 2 months now. im makingcar repairs and paying insurance on a car sitting in a body shop. my next step is contacting a lawyer, because foundes insurance took my money for coverage, yet wont cover all the needed repairs in what the body shop men call a "minor accident."

Founders Insurance denial of claim

In late March, I was traveling north along Interstate 94 in the Deerfield, IL area. A car insured by Founders Insurance swerved into my lane, broadsiding my car. We exchanged insurance information, but did not file a police report - response times were two hours and over (the Northern suburbs would get nine inches of snow by the end of the day). I contacted Founders, filed the requisite paperwork and got damage repair estimates. After six weeks and a number of phone calls, I was told my claim was being denied - their insured was not at fault. I asked how they could claim he was not at fault - I didn't hit him, he hit me! Their reasoning was that since their insured swerved to avoid another car, this first car was the proximate cause of the accident and not their insured. I pointed out that I had been hit by their insured, not by this "proximate cause" but they continued to pronounce their insured not at fault and were denying the claim. I asked if they were also blaming the Illinois Tollway Authority for the condition of the road surface and the Sun for shining in their poor widdle insured eyes. They failed to see the humor of the situation, again stated firmly they were denying the claim because their insured had not caused the accident. So not only did I have to fill out their forms, go see Founders-approved repair shops and make numerous calls, but they take six weeks to blow me off.

While driving north on Interstate 94 in the Deerfield, IL area, a car insured by Founders Insurance swerved into the side of my car. We exchanged insurance information but made no police report - the local Police Department said response times were two hours and longer due to the poor weather (by the end of the day, nine inches of snow in the area). I contacted Founders Insurance, filled out the requisite paperwork, went and got damage estimates to fix my car. After waiting six weeks, I was told they were denying my claim because their insured driver was not at fault. I asked how they felt it was conceivable that their insured was not at fault - he hit my car, I didn't hit him! Their response was that because their insured was swerving to avoid another car, it was the fault of this first car and not their insured. My argument that I had been hit by their insured, not by any other car, and that this was the direct cause of the damage fell on deaf ears, literally. I asked if they would then blame the Illinois Tollway for not keeping the road surface clean and dry, or blame the sun for shining in their insureds eyes. The insured could have avoided both my car and the other car by braking, but instead hit my car. Once again, Founders Insurance simply repeated that they were denying the claim because their insured was not the direct cause of the accident. Leaving me out time spend filing out their paperwork, submitting repair appraisals and making numerous calls to Founders. Not to mention my own deductible to be paid, paperwork that I now have to fill out for my insurance company, etc.

Founders Insurance not settling a claim in a satisfactory time frame!

I was in an accident december 3 i live in a busy street and backed out and got hit. This was during the day . The company refused a rental car. There adjuster wanted to put on junkyard parts on 2003 jetta they said it was the law. After further investigating it was not the truth. I continued to drive eventually the car became uncontrollable. The car in fact was unsafe, but I was forced to drive the vehicle. On a snowy morning I was leaving work and hit a pole head on--due to the uncontrollable car-steering was gone.--had i left the parking lot and that not happened then I work on a busy a road the accident could have been fatal. This accident could have happened at anytime to anyone with my family in the car or someone else's family in the car. This company has not yet settled now 3 months now since the first accident. I am still making car payments now 4 payments and counting. No vehicle now, I signed over to them. Just wondering when they will pay off the accident. So I can get a new vehicle and move on with my life, and a new insurance company.

My experience with founders has been similar.

I have my insurance through State Farm, but was struck nine months ago by someone insured by founders. I was fully stopped at a red light, and their client rear ended me at 50 mph. She was arrested for DUI at the scene.

Thankfully, after Founders made it clear that their game was to stall until I became desperate, and because their adjuster wanted to put good money (my settlement money) after bad repairing a clearly totaled vehicle, I went through my own insurance.

Still, nine months later, Founders has not paid State Farm and I'm still out my deductible. I'm told that Founders doesn't believe their client was at fault, despite the DUI, multiple witnesses, the police report and common sense all suggesting otherwise.

Unfortunately you looked up the law incorrectly. Insurance is supposed to put you in a position you were previous to an accident. Your car probably had over 60 K miles and that car is completely undeserving of a new part. Unfortunately you are ignorant to the insurance practice. Also insurance needs to useLKQ parts not OEM, your car didn't qualify for OEM parts. Your old car with many miles on it does not make your car new which is what an OEM would be. They would be putting you in a better spot that what you were previously. It is unfortunate that you feel the way you do but you need to do more research. There are also plenty of other circumstances, is your policy new? did you file a police report? did the other party stop and give you their information? did you cooperate? did you give proper information when signing the policy? Many things that could have lead to a delay. Again get your facts straight. It is unfortunate at the time period but again we don't know all the different scenarios that impacted your claim.

I had the pleasure of someone hitting my daughter's car who was insured by Founders Insurance. The insured person that hit my daughter's car received 3 tickets, one of which was a DUI. My husband and I arrived at the accident to find this driver very drunk, alone in her car (I'm going somewhere with that one), and completely irate about hitting my...

Founders Insurance highly questionable business practices

Founders Insurance Co.
1645 Birchwood Ave.
P.O. Box 5100
Des Plaines, IL 60018
[protected]

On the evening of Friday, September 9, 2007 in a parking lot in Elgin, IL., a vehicle insured by the above insurance company struck our parked van and fled the scene. Including myself, there are two eye witnesses to the accident. The license plate of the offending vehicle was recorded and immediately reported to the police. Within minutes, the Elgin, IL Police Dept. tracked the plate down to a nearby residence where they discovered the vehicle parked in the owners' driveway. Upon further investigation by the police, they talked to the passenger of the offending vehicle who was at that residence and he admitted to being in the vehicle at the time the driver backed into our car and drove away. However, he claimed he only knew the drivers name as "Jesus" and that he had left minutes before. The police also discovered that the registered owner has a suspended drivers license. Neither myself nor the other eye witness could identify who was driving the vehicle that struck ours.

We reported the incident to Christina Kane at the above insurance agency when they opened on Monday 9/12/2007 and filed a claim to repair the damages caused by their insured clients' vehicle. The above insurance agency had requested copies of the police report and a letter stating the events of the accident. This alone is odd because any insurance agency can obtain police reports of their insured themselves. Later, they had also sent us a Founders Insurance form to fill out that resembled a police report. Some of the information they requested was our Social Security number, our insurance policy number, our coverage type, our deductable and where we worked. Needless to say, we did not give them that information as they have absolutely no relevant need for it. We have taken our vehicle to the body shop that Founders Insurance Co. suggested for an estimate. The recommended body shop seemed shady and had a large calendar with scantly clad women hanging in plain sight of the customers. I will say that my wife was uncomfortable with the establishment.

It has been over three months and in excess of 10 phone calls have been placed to Founders Insurance Co. checking on the status of the claim. When they actually returned our calls, each response has been that "they are still investigating it and can not reach the owner". To this date, absolutely nothing had been done to pay for the damages caused by their clients' vehicle. We have also filed a complaint with the BBB, The Illinois Division of Insurance and Professional Regulations, and the Des Plaines, IL. Chamber of Commerce.

It is in our opinion that Founders Insurance Co. is clearly avoiding paying a claim in their hopes that we would have our highly reputable insurance company take care of it. Regardless of who was driving the vehicle, the fact of the matter is that the vehicle that Founders Insurance Company insured, struck our parked vehicle in plain view of two separate witnesses and fled the scene. This form of business practice is fraudulent as far as I am concerned and should be eradicated from the insurance business.

I've dealt with these people for close to a year now over damage to my property. I've submitted photos and police reports also..After numerous calls to the company I got the run around and excuse after excuse of why they haven't paid their claim. Now after more calls they say they've mailed the compensation check..After two weeks of not receiving a check and blaming it on the post office for a busy season, I can't wait for next excuse...I've documented every phone call and person I've talked with, I guess it's time to pursue legal action...shame on you founders..you should change your name to flounders insurance because things are truly fishy dealing with you people...

I agree with all the complaints because it happened to my husband Founders is a scam trying to get away from paying the claims. I filed a complaint with Illinois Department of Insurance and was not successful, don't trust them, I had to hire an Attorney but he is hesitating to get the case, due to Founders have lots of powerful people in the State that will cover for them.

We all need to do something about these scammers out there. Not sure where Justice is, but if anyone out there knows of anyone that can help please submit a post.

I trust in God and I know that his Justice is better that ours.

Me and my wife brought a 2002 Chrysler 300m as soon as we had got our taxes. We decide listening to a friend because she said she been involved with them for 10years and was treated rite by them. So out of good faith we went ahead and gave them a try. Neediness to say that that was the worst mistake i made. On 6-9-2015 at 3:39am i was woked up by Peoria police put and handcuffs telling me i was involved in a hit n run. I was like then how was i involved when i was sleeping at the time and my car was park in front of my house. Well when i got that cleared up i reported it to founder and keep in mind we had full coverage so i really wasn't mad intill founders gave me a call telling me they ain't going to pay and they are just going to give my refund back and i was like the f***if you r. I put and as well a class action as well. Don't not go to founders they are no good

I was struck from behind while in my parked car and forced into another parked car by a driver with Founders insurance. Founders answers no phone calls always voicemail. They do claim responsibility. 33 days later all I have is an unfair offer for the value of my car. No rental car at all or cash out on rental. No reimbursement for towing vehicle from the scene. They won't provide a declaration of benefits. Moreover they want to charge me $1000 to dispose of the scrappile that litters up my yard. Pray you're never hit by a Founders insured. Their answer to everything is "You can just urn it in to your insurance company" complaint to be filed with Ohio Bureau of insurance.

I realize people purchase the insurance they can afford but this company should not be in business. One of their clients hit me and they refused to pay for all of the damage. They will nickle and dime you to death. Also, If there is a Class Action lawsuit I'd be glad to join it. Their customer service is poor. Agents never return calls and I assume people work there just because its a job!

Also, be forewarned about the insurance industry in Illinois. There are lots of loopholes these companies find to avoid paying. One lady's car was totaled and because she could never get in contact with the person who hit her they didn't have an obligation to pay! This is for people with liability only. Ask your agent.

I just recently had a accident with insurer who was insured by founders insurance on December 23, 2013. The lady T boned hit me and I was on the road first and she made a right turn into my lane without looking first and hit me. I have been battling it out with founders insurance for the last 2 months and they are only wanting to pay for 50% claiming that I was at fault for the other 50% but will not tell me how I was at fault. The police report stated who was at fault based on evidence and Founders said that the police report was inaccurate based on their insured. To make matters worse on Founders claim form they they asked their insured to draw a picture on the accident and clearly based on THEIR insured drawing she painted a crystal clear picture showing she was at fault. I m sure Stevie Wonder could have seen it for himself. Founders is a deceitful company and are liars. I bet you one thing the people who work for them don't have founders. Founders has messed with the wrong cookie and I tell you what a CLASS ACTION lawsuit against Founders Insurance Company will be coming into affect in the Days to come. If your insured is at fault for hitting a person they should investigate and take proper procedure in ensuring everything gets handled in a timely fashion. People should not resort to contacting the Department of Insurance most of all going through the hassle of not being mobile getting a rent a car to only find out they are going to pay half of it and just drama and its self. Founders Insurance is goign DOWN!

My daughter was rear ended by a young girl with Founders. The girl was texting and hit my daughter at a high rate of speed with no braking skid marks. My daughter's car was totaled. State Farm took care of everything for my daughter, even returning her deductable. Of course, 20 months later, State Farm is suing Founders for not reimbursting them. My daughter is seeing a lawyer Monday, because she has never been able to get in touch with them since. They contacted her, and once she would not sign off with them, and wanted payment for rental car fees and missed work due to injuries, no further contact. No matter how many times she left messages or emailed them, no response from Founders. This tactic must work with a lot of people that file claims against them. They play a waiting game until your time has run out to file. Founder Insurance is a evil, unscrupulous company.
