GE Money Bank IDENTITY THEFT FRAUD

They have my information SOMEHOW as I am a victim of Identity theft, in which a credit card has been opened in my name. I owe thousands and my credit report is trashed! GE MONEY BANK refuses to do anything about any of this until I pay, as 'I gave them the information and opened the account'

"Ma'am, I just told you I DID NOT OPEN THIS ACCOUNT. DO YOU KNOW THE DEFINITION OF IDENTITY THEFT?"

"Yes ma'am, I am working in the fraud department"

"Really? I thought you just said you were customer service?"

OTHERS PLEASE COME FORWARD!

I have spoken to a representative of this company 3 times the first time they couldnt tell me their name, then the second time all he did was keep repeating himself while I was trying to ask him questions about why this was under my name and tell him Ive never even been to the area the credit card was taken out under my name. The third time I had to speak to a supervisor who in turn said the same thing that everyone else did. "Let me turn this over to a fraud dept." I never received paperwork to report fraud after the 3 converstaions when in which i verified my address for each representative. I used to be a call representative for a major corp. these people have had no training other then the fact that they want your money, say something about 25 dollars, and then dont listen to a word you say. I dont want this to ding my credit but I am not going to pay for a credit card I did not take out just because their customer service is no where near up to par and they cant stand by their word. No wonder someone chose their company to screw with, if they are legit, they are asking to be a target for fraud!

This is a legitimate number. It is the number of Chase Credit Card Fraud Services.

They contacted me to report a fraudulent charge on my credit card. I canceled the card, and verified this with the customer service department. It feels a little shady, but it is actually a Chase Bank department!

This is a scam and the posts you see on here that claim different have hidden agendas for doing so. These people try to use psychology fear and even compassion to ferret out further information. In my case... I never had an account with Chase to begin with neither did I apply for a card. However, they claimed the only way that they could verify the letter I received claiming I had an account, was to render SS#. So I said I would render it. He offered information to prove his validity.
Of which I caught 3 discrepancies. Of which he apologized for and said he would have to alert his supervisor of immediately. LOL

First the phone # offered to me for a Experian is not the actual telephone number for Experian. This was verified by My Credit FRAUD monitoring service. The # [protected] is not anywhere on the legitimate CHASE.COM sites. And after pointing this out to him, he in turn claimed it must have been in error. Also I blocked when calling them, however he claimed my phone number did not match into their system on a search. However asked me to fax or scan the fraudulent letter I received to him. LOL Why would I block my number then release it pending exposing impostors of phishing scams? LOGICAL?

So the numbers in question that were blown out of the water for inconsistencies are: [protected], [protected], & [protected].
The last number listed is where I was routed to the third time for the so called Internal Dept. Of which the individual claimed to be an employee of CHASE.

It gets better. He offered me advice to make a consumer complaint saying the number for Experian was [protected]. Not according to my sources. I am warning people on here to use discernment as much psychology, guile and deception is prevalent in these economic times and the false rebuttals on this page just verify the compliance of these evil entities in the destruction of your economy. Karma is as Karma does and Justice prevails. This page is being used to access info that we know so they can use it to hide better.

GE Money Bank Charging higher rates when promised low rates

We moved into a new house and were approached by White Oak Windows & Doors. They seem to be easy to work with and did great work, but we had financed $15, 000 for all new doors and windows with 0% for one year and was suppose to be 7.24% after that. Well it after a year passed we paid off what we could, but knew we was going to pay when they finance charge kicked in at 7.24% which we paid the 7.24% for just 4 months and to find out by the 5th month they would raise it to 12.99% on a almost now $14, 200 balance.
I had got their letter about changes in account and when in fact I called them to be 100% sure it did not affect my account they assured me it would stay the same at 7.24% till paid off in full (unless a late payment occurred which they can raise it to a rate of 29.99% which is flat out unacceptable with about anyone trying to get out of any debt. What has the world come to these days when companies can RIPP OFF anyone at any given moment and raise rates to levels beyond most anyone else?
I will NOT and NO longer ever support GE MONEY BANK, GE CO., and or ANY COMPANY who used them for finance or any relations. I suggest to all people out there who read this do the same and make a stand against such company like GE MONEY and their RIP OFF tactics that use time and time again if you read other complaints online. I just wish I had read them before I used them to finance our windows and doors; I would have not used either company to be honest. BEWARE of GE MONEY and them RIPPING YOU OFF of your hard earned money, especially in a time of an economy crisis. GE MONEY is a cutthroat company that our out to only profit themselves and it shows in their good old American Pride. I hope I see the day the company falls and closes its doors for good.

Daniel Ferguson

GE Money Bank is a rip off, I agree. It took me 5 years to pay of a surgery for varicose veins due to their raise in rates. Tip: never finance any medical expenses because most private insurances (not sure about medicare or medicaid) have "out of pocket maximums" that otherwise wont apply if your balance is financed. Another tip kind of off the subject: If you use a visa debit for anything and use your pin, it is not covered under the visa insurance protection (theft, loss damage, etc.), however, if you sign for your purchases vs. using you pin number, it is protected by this insurance. This was the case when I worked at an Indianapolis bank 6 years while attending nursing school. Something to double check on.

I have ge money bank for my siding loan, it was 15.24% for the first 20 months, now it jumped in one month to 20.25%. It just isn't competitive, I'll have to go elsewhere with the balance. The indian call center lady told me she couldn't help by adjusting the rate at all and told me every loan increased to this 20.25% rate.

Wow... First of all let me say that I am not familar with White Oak Windows and Door however I am familar with GE Money Bank. My wife and I have used them in the past. We have esed them through Best Buy and through HH Gregg there are many companies that use this organzation for financing purposes. You can blame the window company for offering you financing that you accepted. If you did not read the contract, which spells out the terms, then shame on you. myou can blame other for your stupidity! When you finance something for 12 months same as cash it is a free loan if you pay it off whithin the 12 mo period. If you do not, then yes they have a higher interest rate. This is how these companies make income. The are not ripping people off. They know that some customers will pay off the balance and they will not make a dime and they also know that uneducated americans will accept the loan and then not pay it of and complain about it.

Everything is in writing. READ IT OR DO NOT COMPLAIN. It is ridiculous that complaint about good companies are allowed to be posted whn the coomplainer is the idiot at fault!

I am ok with ge and the thousands of American business that utilize their finanace programs.

GE Money Bank Late Fees, Poor Web Site and Auto Pay

I put off making a complaint, hoping that dealing with this company would eventually straighten out after a few initial bugs, but after about 4 months I'm finally irritated to the point of wishing that someone would sue their socks off and that at the very least medical groups would simply stop using them as an alternative payment plan.

Their website and business model seems to be designed to deceive customers by tactics like supplying an "auto pay" which never seems to work correctly and that at the very least one has to turn off and on in order to make payments when it doesn't work. And this process takes days rather than the minutes it would take on any other site. Once you turn off auto pay in order to make a payment (since it doesn't actually work) for some reason you have to wait until the payment posts and clears, which seems to take about a week, before you can turn auto pay back "on" again. And of course there is no warning that you have a upcoming payment due either by email or postal mail.

This is the second time I've been smacked with a $40 "late charge". For some reason auto pay was "off" when I'm pretty sure I went back and turned it on and adjusted the amount after making the payment amount I wanted. The one time auto payment did work it only made the minimum payment, which is essentially worthless if you ever hope to pay them off. This is despite my entering a much higher amount than the minimum.

This "service" should simply be shut down for the fraud they perpetrate. A company that makes the engines for our best airliners should at least be able to supply a website on par with a local utility - one that actually works properly and isn't obviously set up to catch folks in their little game - folks that are obviously already struggling with medical bills or they wouldn't have turned to a credit card!

The people who thought this up should be ashamed.

GE Money Bank High Interest No Hardship

I had called GE Money few months back and they agreed to put me on a hardship @200 month and lower interest. Butt he catch was you have to be up to date. So I'm up to date. Now they say OH youhave to be past 90 days to qualify. LIES LIES LIES! Then I see a purchase on my statement. I ask what is this. Oh that is late fees etc.. I said ok why are you charging me 26.99% for that. They said oh your payment goes most to your interest so this balance is carried over. I said WHAT in God's name are you doing that for? They said OH you have to call and tell us to pay that on your next payment or it carries over. MAN would somebody PLEASE join in and lets get an attorny to try and get a class action suit for falsely leading the public. How was I suppose to know this! I mean it these people need to be stopped some how. Any takers want to help research?

GE Money Bank Online Statements

I have had an account with Care Credit for many years. For the last few years, I have elected to receive my statement online so that I could quickly make my payment and save paper. When my email reminder comes, it tells me to click on the site to view my statement. After I log in, I am directed to a summary page. (Until I spoke to the customer service representative, I never even realized that there was a different statement.) The summary page failed to mention that I had a small balance that the special financing was about to expire. (It was on the statement?) Because I didn't go view my statement (who knew that what I was directed to after logging in wasn't the statement?), I am now paying an additional $1000 for interest on the full amount.
While this may not start out attempting to be fraudulent, it sure feels like that $1000 later!
Anybody who has this and makes payments online, you better go to the statement page so that you can see any important info that they don't want to share!

I agree with Ms Wurner. We were told at the Doctors Office that we were on one plan and then 2 years later were slapped with an addittional $1500 finance charge. Of course when we called they said we should have known. If they aren't fraudulent they darn sure come close. Dishonest, and disreputable are terms they can not deny. While I understand that the buyer must beware, I certainly was not prepared for this.

GE Money Bank Ripped off

I became late on my payments while on a deployment to Iraq. I got home, and wanted to start paying off my debts. I was contacted by GEMB and was offered a settlement offer. I set up three (3) payments with them, one payment for the next three months...after which, the account was to be considered paid in full. They decided to renege on that deal AFTER I MADE MY 3 PAYMENTS. and told me it was only valid for 25 days...and I now owe the full amount

I have letters from them stating the settlement offer and the three dates...and I also have FREE attorney service... by the way, the NAVY/MARINE CORPSE have the best lawyers around. I have paperwork, from them, that says I am right...they don't know yet, but they messed with the wrong guy, I am not a sheep. I am a vindictive jerk...and I will not be ripped off.

It's time all of us stand up against these companies who have been robbing us blind.

GE Money Bank Poor customer service and unauthorized debits

I have been getting the runaround from GE Money on my ABT store credit card since May 21st.

After paying my first minimum payment in May, I waited until after the due date passed and then signed up for their auto-payments on May 19 to take effect on my next due date on June 15th. Due to some "error, " the $150 payment (5x the minimum so I can pay it off in 12 months) came out immediately. When I saw this in my online banking I called and spoke to a rep who said that it would not count towards my June payment since it posted one day before my statement cycle, and the payment would come out again on June 15th. I asked for it to be reversed and was told that it could only be sent back via check. Since I was set to take a big trip in mid-June and wanted it for spending $$ I agreed to have them send me a check.

So now it's June 1oth or so...no check. I call back and am sent to an "escalation specialist" named Carol. Who was very nice and helpful, saying that there was a note on my account from accounting asking for a copy of my bank statement to verify that the payment had indeed been made. Very odd, since it was showing up in my GE Money account as a payment on May 19th. She agreed this made no sense and would have a check sent ASAP and apologized. On June 12th my online ABT account showed "06/12/09 NET TERMK $150.00" -- fantastic, the check is on it's way.

So the end of June rolls around and there's still no check, and I make another phone call. After waiting 35 minutes to transfer to another "escalation specialist" I talk to Carol (perhaps the same one) who puts me on hold and talks to accounting since the first rep I spoke to said it would be sent electronically, not as a check. She verified that it WAS a check, and they would research it and put a stop payment on it if it wasn't cashed. And then a new check would be sent. So I wait a few days as instructed and called back to see what they've found out.

The rep that answered my call on July 7th listened to my confusing situation and again said that it would be electronic, not a check, since it was originally debited electronically. How can every other person I speak to give me different info? So again I wait on hold for 30 minutes for Escalation Specialist Christina. After the very long explanation she says that they paid me on June 12th and it should be in my bank account. I tell her it's not and what Carol told me about the check needing to be canceled and resent. She then proceeded to tell me that I never spoke to Carol at the end of June -- only on June 9th, since there were no notes in my account indicating otherwise. I asked why in the world I would make up a story about stopping payment on a check, and that I cannot control what is noted in my account. She again insisted quite rudely that I never spoke to Carol that day and that I needed to send in a copy of my bank statement to show that I did not get a credit electronically on June 12th. I (not so politely) asked to speak to her supervisor since there was all this confusion of check versus ACH debit, to which she said "No, you cannot speak to a supervisor. They will just tell you the same thing." I then asked to speak to Carol, since she was familiar with my situation, and she again refused, saying that she could not transfer me directly. She still would not let me speak to a supervisor after I told her that they basically stole $150 from me and I needed answers she was not able to provide.

Let's just say I was LIVID--I have never had to jump through so many hoops or been treated so rudely about a situation that was in no way my fault. I was wishing I had just left the payment on my account to begin with. But that was no longer an option since there was now a $150 charge against my account that I never received. So I do what I'm told and fax in copies of my bank statement showing that they did not send me $150 electronically on June 12th. I hear nothing for several days and decide to call back...I speak to what I think is a big-time supervisor and I am told that it takes a few days for faxes to even show up (huh?) but she sees it all noted on my account and it will be taken care of when it arrives. She also says that I should check with my bank, since their records show the $150 was sent to my bank and not bounced back to them.

So I call Bank of America (as I should have done in the first place) and they say the best thing to do is file a claim against an unauthorized debit. I question this since I already have all this other nonsense going on over at GE Money, but they go ahead with it anyway. So lo and behold, two days later I have $150 in my account as a reversal of the May 19th debit. BUT the $150 charge on June 12th is still on my account, in addition to a July 14 reversal from B of A. I now have my $150 back in my checking, but I still have a $150 charge counting against my balance in my GE Online account that I never received. I call again and am told it can take up to 60 days for accounting to "investigate." Really? Oh, and if the investigation shows that they did actually send it to B of A they will need to investigate where it ended up before anything can be done. So if they can't find it, does that mean I never get it back?

Again, I wait a week and decide to check my GE Money account online...nope, the June 12 charge is still there. Plus the reversal of the May 19th payment, and my July 14 autopayment initiated by GE Money...which just so happened to post the same day as the May reversal triggering a $39 late payment fee. You have got to be kidding me...back to the phone. I am able to get a one-time "courtesy" reversal, even tho there was no actual late payment. I am told that I only get one a year, so be thankful. So we launch into the explanation again since I'm already on the phone and figure I should check again on this accounting research. I am sent to escalation specialist Lillian, who tries to tell me that my July 14 autopayment was actually reversed -- even tho it clearly states it is ACH RETURN 05/21/09 CLAIM #2853609JUL09 on my B of A statement. And then tries to tell me that they did send me the money back on June 12th. Here we go again.

So as of today, July 21st, I was told that an email would be sent to Christina to follow up on the information I faxed on July 7th. The best thing about GE Money is that they have no email or snail mail contact info -- so none of this is ever documented. I finally have my $150 back in my checking thanks to B of A, but my GE Money account balance still shows the phantom $150 charge that I am being charged interest on and will be responsible to pay if this is not resolved. So in the end, what I said earlier holds true, GE Money stole $150 from me.

GE Money Bank NEWCARPET/ EMPIRE CARPET RIPOFF COMPANY

I used GE MONEY w/Empire carpet co. GE or Empire never told me that they subcontracted with each other on the loan and the actual work that was done. I also was never informed about a 20 something percent interest rate on the loan itself . I attempted to contact their officals about adjusting the rate to fit my very good credit score, and they refuse to do so. they stated that they didn't care about my good credit that got me the deal in the first place, they just want to collect all the money that came w/ the high interest rate. They also attempted to charge me lots of additional fees each month, even if the payments are on time. I thought high interest rates are for people who have a history of bad credit or late payments, i guest i was wrong. I will never used Empire Carpets or GE MONEY BANK again. I encourage all consumers to do the same.

GE Money Bank Credit Card Issuance And Vile Customer Service

In November of 2008, I agreed to have GE Money finance a new air conditioner for my condominium. The agreement was to pay six months with no interest charges. Once I received an actual credit card, I cut up this card and disposed of it since the purpose of having this account was to only pay off my air conditioner and not use it for future purchases. I was also given the option to make "paper-less" payments via online and I made monthly payments via their web site.

Once the six months of free interest expired, I wanted to transfer the remaining balance to another card. In order to do so, I need the GE account number. I never noticed before, but my online statement does not provide my actual account number except for the last 4 digits. I called a representative to help me get my account number, however, I was told that my number cannot be given to me over the phone so I was told that I would receive a new card. I believe I made that initial contact around June 15. When I called about a week later to let them know I hadn't received it, a representative decided to cancel this account number, shut down access to my account, and send me a new card with a new account number altogether. I remember then calling yet again because a payment was coming up and I was wondering how I was going to make a payment without any access to my new account. A representative did take a payment from me over the phone and did not charge me a telephone fee due to my unusual circumstance.

On July 2, I made, what I thought would be a final plea and asked to speak with a supervisor. This supervisor told me that she had no record of having a card sent to me prior to June 26. I told her that I had called GE a week prior to the 26 and she accused me, and I quote, of "exaggerating". I was incensed by her lack of sensitivity and I ended this conversation promptly. I decided to call again and make yet another attempt by speaking to another representative. I spoke with a representative by the name of "Michelle" and I was told that I would receive this new card no later than July 7. Today, Thursday, July 9, I have yet to receive this new card because I just spoke with a supervisor by the name of "Lillian" and now she tells me that a card for this cannot be issued anyway. After all of my phone calls to different GE Money representatives, I come to find this out today! GE never sent me any letters or made any attempt to contact me and let me know that an actual card could not be issued--even though I did receive one back in November. I have never heard of such a thing, but nevertheless, I told her that all I want is access to my account number so I can transfer the remaining balance to another account, which I have every right to do so. I let her know that GE cannot force me to be its customer and I demanded that my account be closed today. According to Lillian, she did say that my account would be closed today and that I would receive a letter in the mail with my account number printed. I have already filed a complaint with the BBB and to please be my advocate so I can receive my account number and have this matter settled. It's absolutely disgraceful and vile how, I once believed, such a reputable company can engage in such corrupt business practices.

GE Money Bank Not following through what was said they would do

I have been a loyal customer with GE money bank Care Credit. I have had numerous problems with my account and can't get them resolved. I been in constant contact with the sales rep that works with the doctors office that handles my dental work. That is when the nightmare started. I went to the dentist office and they recommended I sign up for a Care Credit account and my insurance company will cover the difference. I had some work done and decided to use another credit card instead of Care Credit because of the balance of the dental work. But looked over the terms and conditions and like all credit company's you need a degree in law and a bottle of aspirin to read these terms . The no interest for six months sounded even better, and I used the Care Credit instead of that credit card. Boy do I regret making that decision. Let the fun begin, I had the work done on a Tuesday. And waited about three weeks for the insurance company to receive the bill and pay there part and the difference would be mine. Its very simple. I would use my Care Credit Account to pay that difference and I have a Flex account that would pay that Care Credit Account to a zero balance. For me this would be a open and close case. What actually happened was the day i open the account is the day that the six month interest waived started . And not when the service was rendered. To me this is the same day. Because the GE money rep said to me that they only charge the customer when service is rendered and that is when the clock is started. And even in each statement their is a date that the interest waived ends. For me my was all zeros. And again I called the customer service line and got nowhere with my problem. At this time I had been with GE money about three months and had been waiting for the Flex payment to come to me and to pay off this account. So i made the three payments and was charged there out of sight interest that made my payment even more out of sight. I hate paying interest, well who does except the person receiving the interest. I even did the three ring circus dance to avoid paying interest, this handicap of a mistake was made. I finally got a hold of a customer service representative and they said that there has been a mistake and they would look into it. Let me repeat myself. They admit to the mistake and they would look into it. Wow. I can feel the customer service love. Well I called a week later and noticed that nothing has been done to my account because the hard to understand csr said nothing has been done. This could take one or two billing cycles to get corrected. And if at all they cared about the customer. she could have made a change to my account. But did she no, instead she read back the notes that were misspelled to me. according to the csr. And she would look into it and correct the mistake. I called the GE money bank Care Credit rep back and explain this to her and she said they would fix the problem. I also been talking to the doctors office and they too have been having problems with Care Credit. But there is nothing to worry about, they will fix it said the Care Credit rep. Yea they fixed it alright. My account was so messed up they closed it and gave me a new number and tryed to get the dates back in order to generate a new bill. Bye this time i have already gone back for my six month checkup and again more services were rendered and i used my flex account to pay for bill and not the loving Care Credit. It still is mixed up. They correct the mistake finally. But to only get the same problem next month. Now there has been seven months since this problem has been going on and I have been charged about 45o dollars in interest at the out of sight 27.99%. My face turns about six shades of red when I have to call Care Credit and get this fixed. I and only waiting to get my account to where the zero interest is due to make a final payment and say fair well to GE money Care Credit. But i am afraid they will accept my payment and still charge me interest and I'm back to where I started. Paying interest and making them rich off the so called corrected problem. And bye the way I did make a payment to pay off the so called balance. I came to find out they miss billed my account and i was charged the pro rated interest on top of the interest i was already been billed. I have no been in contact with the Care Credit rep, who now is a different person. This problem now has been somewhat taken care of because i have not payed the difference in interest. Bye the way for your info, I have found out that if you don't pay them they will reduce the debt and settle the debt for over half. Yes it hurts your credit but the debt is gone. But no more Ge money bank or Care Credit.

GE Money Bank Rip off on credit card

Started with telephone calls from India at all hours of the day and night even though we were not behind on our payments. Guess the final straw was the call I received this morning from a guy whose English was marginal to say the best. Informing me that our account was going to be turned over to collection because we were late.
Checked the statement and the due date isn't until the 9th and this is the 1st. Something wrong with that picture.
So I started trying to contact the corporate offices. Five hours later, found a number that was good. Just for everyone who might want to call and voice their disapproval of the call center in India and the business practices that GE has adopted over the past few years, I'll give you these numbers so you don't waste 5 hours of your valuable time like I did.
The New York number is: [protected]. But to use this number you need to have an employees name. Try looking up the company directory. I went straight to the top and used the CEO's: Mark Begor. His office number is [protected]. His assistant is a nice lady so be kind.
Next I spoke with Corporate Relations: [protected]. The person I spoke with was Cindy Lockyer and she was most helpful.
So once you cut through all of the crap they have put out there for us to cut through there are some decent people working there, who also don't necessarily agree with the corporate practices but don't place to much blame on them, they need their jobs just like the rest of us do.

GE Money Bank STOP SENDING PAPER STAMENTS AFTER SETTING AUTOMATIC PAYMENT

It is tricky how these credit service providers are doing business, Please keep in mind that they are NOT going to help the clients. It is not in their interest...PERIOD!. Here is my case:

First I called GE Money Bank Customer Service to request to have one of the accounts (World Market) that I have more than six months with $0 balance CLOSED and TO BE REMOVE from their records, because that was THE ONLY ONE that will show up in the screen of my computer after I have signed in, strange enough, the one I want to pay and it is still active does not some up...I still find that page showing up as my first and only account with GE Money Bank.

Second, I wanted to avoid late feeds in my other account with CARE CREDIT/GEMB, therefore I sign up for an automatic payment, to be paid the 1st of every month. Well, they STOP sending me the statements in paper to my address and this morning when I talked to the customer service employee she told me they are sending them, that this is my problem, then I asked to speak to the manager and she told me that they stop sending the statement in paper after I signed in for automatic payments!.

I have been charge for more than six months 29.99% for late fees because my payment was not paid on time (1 day late) but how was I able to know if I could not see it?

Now I will have to pay $2.553.66 with a 29.99%... This is the industry is making the most profit during this hard economy...and they are doing it in a very wrong way. I hope one dya it will come back to them...In my case I CAN"T WAIT TO BE FREE OF CREDIT CARDS DEBTS!...or nay type of credit...better living simple than a slave.

GE Money Bank Made payments that were &lost& then sent to law firm for collection

I have a credit card that is handled through GE Money Bank. I pay on a regular basis. I have, however, stopped using most of my credit cards so, usually, carry a very low balance. This particular card is through Gap and currently has a low balance of $300 + or so. Earlier this year, I was very busy and getting behind in my "sitdown" personal business, so I called in a payment to the company. I, then, mailed my next payment, and, finally, after getting a new iMac, began setting up an online account to make payments (though, with my tax refund, was going to just pay it off). I don't know if the odd switch in HOW I paid threw them or what, but... I ended up getting a call and a letter from a law firm, saying that they are now handling my very delinquent account. This firm has no record of my recent payments and no contact info. for me at GE Money Bank. I have written GE Money Bank a letter (it was nearly impossible to find the correct address), and I have also tried to call them (but the automated phone service is awful, given the fact that you have to listen to many, many different options since they handle so many retailers, and, once in, my customer service rep could not find my by acct. # or SS# - another did find me but said they could not help me because I had been sent to collections), but nothing, it appears, is going to help me find out why my payments were not credited - how to get the law firm to stop harassing me (they tell me I have to pay what I owe plus a fee and then they report to the credit bureau, which makes me uncomfortable) - and how to get this off my credit report.

GE Money Bank Account Closure

I opened this account in January of 2007 with my father as a co-signer. I paid a few dollars more than the minimum every month by the due date until August 2008. In August 2008, I began experiencing money shortages. My payments were no longer made by the due date, but the payments were made within 30 days. My father was a cosigner on this account and it was imperative that I stay as current as possible. I let other accounts go deliquent before I let the Care Credit account lapse. In February 2009, I took the family in for their semi-annual cleanings at the dentist. My preferred dentist is not in my dental insurance network and I use the Care Credit account to cover the difference. When I attempted to pay my bill, my account was denied. I contacted Care Credit dba GE Money Bank in order to determine the cause. GE Money Bank closed my account due to deliquencies on my other credit accounts; not remotely related to GE Money Bank.

My financial difficulties continued and I needed to reduce my monthly payments. I knew that the credit companies offered financial hardship programs for deliquent borrowers, but the only way to qualify for the program was to be deliquent. Therefore, I allowed the Care Credit account to go 60 days late. This, of course had an adverse effect on my father's credit. My father had two other lines of credit with GE Money Bank. The company closed his long standing accounts because of the deliquency on the Care Credit account. After being 60 days late, I qualified for the hardship program, but only after creating an adversarial relationship with my father.

The company has told my father that it will remove the adverse information from his credit bureaus and that he can apply for new lines of credit after the adverse information is removed. We, as consumers, know that factually accurate information cannot be removed from our credit reports and that the adverse information will keep him from qualify for any further GE Money Bank products.

I understand that my deliquency affected him, but I also hope that he can understand that GE Money's business practices will continue to adversely affect him regardless of my account status.

GE Money Bank Overcharged and lousy service

I had to open an GE Money credit account through PEPBOYS in order to pay for some unexpected car repairs. There was supposed to be 90 days same as cash, at which I only got 30 days. When I called about only receiving 30 days, the GE associate argued with me!

Next, I did not receive my credit card for almost 6 months! I had no way to make payments (no card number, no account number, nothing!). I had to call in all of my payments and change the address to the correct address every month, because GE Money kept changing my account information! I finally had to tell them to leave my account information alone!

When I made my first online payment, I sent up my online account for automatic payments. It took a full month to start my automatic payments. When I checked my account this month, the automatic payments was turned off. So I made a one time payment (to make sure my payment is onetime) and then turned the automatic payments back on, expecting again that it would take another full month to start. Instead, the automatic payment started the next day and now my checking account is overdrawn because two payments were taken out for the month of June instead of one payment! I was also charged $30 in fees due to the over payment from my credit union. When I called GE Money, I was told by the associate that GE Money would refund the over payment (not including the $30 in fees), but it would take 7-10 business days for me to receive a check in the mail! If this happens with my other credit card, they return the over charge to my checking account within 1 day, not mail me a check in 7-10 days! I now have to scraped together cash from somewhere, to fix my checking account while GE Money takes their sweet time giving me my refund!

I plan on paying off my GE Money account and closing it! I would not refer my worst enemy to GE Money! Completely lousy service! No one should have to put up with this kind of customer service ever! GE Money Bank needs to get their act together!

Thanks for letting me know about that. I tried to file a complaint with the Better Business Commission, but GE Money Bank is not listed with them. I will be filing a complaint FTC.

I don't know if anyone has filed suit against GEBM. I have done a little internet research and all I have found are lists and lists of complaints.

That is because GEMB will completely ignore their customer when it is their mistakes!

YOU MUST FILE COMPLAINTS WITH THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION AND OFFICE OF THRIFT SUPERVISION!

They cannot ignore complaints that come in via the Office Of Thrift Supervision!

FTC compiles complaint data for other agencies so they can see a pattern of abuse. OTS works on your behalf to make GEMB correct their mistakes!

I have contact OTS on 2 different occasions - and where WAMU AND GEMB refused to discuss or fix their mistakes with me- they both fixed them very quickly once they got the complaint from OTS!

Jennifer watch out since GE Money Bank now has your bank account number. Expect additional deductions from them AFTER you have fully paid off your account. Look up the Check 21 Guidelines, www.federalreserve.gov/paymentsystem. It is their normal operation to take more out to force you to get it back. They get bonuses on how much they can scam off of you. You get so frustrated that you give up.

I have been dealing with them for more than 2 1/2 years about Ethan Allen for a non-posted check for which I have sent them proof of payment. No one looks at anything you send themthey still have passed this on to several collection agencies. I have sent volumes of backup to them with return receipt, emailed, faxed and to no avail. I will try the National Thrift route along with a lawyer!

FORGET THE BBB - THEY WON'T HELP AT ALL
GEMB is listed - with a bogus A- rating.

That is because GEMB is a dues paying member, BBB does not post most complaint data about dues paying members - they do not want to risk losing those fees.

They also take the side of the dues paying member when complaints do come in, claiming they were resolved when in fact GEMB never resolved the issue. They simply respond to them denying any and all wrong doing.

That is why SO IMPORTANT that you file complaints with BOTH FTC AND OTS.
FTC compiles complaint data only - so the Government knows who to go after. OTS works for you to get the problem resolved.

EVERYONE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH GEMB NEEDS TO THIS!

GEMB IGNORES VALID COMPLAINTS FROM CUSTOMERS!

FILE COMPLAINTS WITH THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION AND OFFICE OF THRIFT SUPERVISION.

GEMB refused to even discuss my account with me once they sold it.
They could not ignore the complaint I filed with the OFFICE OF THRIFT SUPERVISION!

I had the same issues with GEMB and my JC Penney acccount.
They made unauthorized changes to my account and added $100 in fraudulent charges to it as well. Never attempted to contact me about it - just let default and SOLD it to a collection agency>

It took a couple of months but they
removed the account from collections
admitted they made changes to my mailing address without my consent
Removed the $100 in fraudulent charges they placed on my account.
Removed the default information from credit reports.

I believe but cannot prove that someone on the inside used my account to buy a gift card - as I never received 1 call from their collections dept.

THE 0% INTEREST IS ALSO A SCAM WITH THEM. Just search the internet for GEMB Complaints and you will find thousands of them worldwide.

GE Money Bank Unethical Late Fees Charged

I have always paid my credit cards the day after I receive them. For the past several months Chevron has stated they have not received my payment on time and is charging me a $25.00 late fee.

I receive the statement 4-5 days before the bill is due. They have changed their mailing address billing location from California to North Carolina rendering more "mail time" to get the bill to them or they are not posting the bills as soon as they get them recurring in this unfair late charge.

Two months ago I called and they gave me credit for the $25.00 late charge, and I can only guess because of my complaint -they reduced my credit limit.

This month when I recieved my bill the $25.00 charge was on my bill again and again I had mailed the payment the day after receipt. So I called them for options. I was offered the option of paying online which I will not do for security reasons. When I asked if their was a telephone payment option I was told yes but there was a $25.00 processing fee to do this. I asked to speak to a supervisor who was not available. I asked for a supervisor to call me back - but I'm not holding my breath.

Chevron or GE Money Bank which runs the credit card for Chevron is making it impossible to pay your bills on time without incurring a late fee. Imagine the hundred of thousands of people being billed the extra $25.00 late fee, quite a tidy sum per month for them I would say.
My choice - not to use the Chevron credit card - which I will do from now on.

GE Money Bank Late Payments/Increased Interest Rates/Harrassing Collectors

***DO NOT USE GE CARE CREDIT CARD...IT'S A RIPOFF**
I initially took out a Care Credit contract for vet services but ended up using it for vision services. I diligently paid my bill on line each month and I was one day late paying the bill one month and they jacked up my interest rate to 29%. I called these people to explain why I was late and they could care less. Once they add the late payment and higher interest rate...you never get out of the hole. It's impossible to get back on track. The reason I used the card to begin with is because of cash flow problems and then they expect you to pay all the late fees and added interest because of being one day late. I have been constantly harassed by the collectors from this company. They tell me that they have turned me over to a collection agency but when I contact them to try to make arrangements...they say my account hasn't lasped for 60 days. This company is one of those that make their money off of late fees and high interest rates. I advise anyone who is thinking about getting this card...DON'T DO IT!

GE Money Bank Excessive Charges Undermining Credit/Trust Customers

I had a contract with GE Money Bank(Care Credit) in which I was forced into final payoff balloon payment. One mourning when I was trying to get to work the voice of Dexter a rude overly persistent bill collector, acting as a representative of GE MB coaxed me into a debit of 2044 dollars to be taken out of my account on April 30, 2009. Because I was trying to get to work on time he received my savings account # instead or my checking account # both under the same routing # to B of A. On April 29, 2009 I spoke with a rep. from GE MB confirming the deposit of 2044 dollars to Bank of America. On my lunch hour Monday with 2044 dollars still in my checking account I called GE MB Care Credit to notify them of the error, after being on hold for approx. 45mins on 4 different calls the 3 previous days I finally got through to a supervisor who wouldn't let me speak to a manager. They would no longer accept 2044 dollars and were demanding another 400 dollars. I tried to tell them that no banks would lend me the money to loan them and was again forced to borrow money from my Father who offered the 2044 dollars and was refused. Appoxamately 1 week later I received a document from AlliedInterstate that states I have a balance of 3442 dollars in comparison to the entire dental bill of 3, 580 dollars; which I have already paid in excess of 1500 dollars on $12.63 an hr wage which does not go far. After refusing to pay this ridiculas bill I went to Law Day @ Whittier Law College then found the Complaint Board and composed this letter. Thank You & I hope anyone who is in finacial difficulty in these tough times finds ecomonic Refuge in this Freenation Of America.

If I understand the situation, the 3rd party that offered a settlement, did not get payment due to your error with the account. they then either sent it back to the original creditor, who reassigned the account to Allied. They then added more collection charges and now you owe more.

The contract you signed originally should have outlined what would happen with nonpayment. This would include additional charges for collection of the debt, including collection charges, fees and court costs.

This all seems fairly legit to me. I know it sounds unfair to you. I would also add, the first agency made a terrible business decision for not working with you for the correct banking info, but sometimes the client decides when their accounts are pulled. They(GE) may not have had a choice but to close the account.
