timeshare fees and double in maintenance raise
I purchased a timeshare in 2015 to 5000 points I was $3200 down had a balance of $1800 they said I could cancel with in 3 days. The salesman received my cancellation but the pulled my automatic payments out every month. They doubled what the maintenance fee was supposed to be . I did not have my husband sign anything and he is furious .
I went in person in December 2017 to demand cancellation and I had closed bank account they kept withdrawing on. They said they were going to give me 2 Rci week bonus certificates and give me 35000 point every 3 years maintenance was $597
Again I said I wanted to explain it to my husband and they never canceled 1st offer or 2nd bonus
star point resorts timeshare
We were also scammed. Told we could cancel at anytime for small fee. We could no longer afford it due to family passing away, loss of job and they moved us to collections. We were pressured to buy and told them over and over no and then after, the very next day we went to cancel they wouldn't allow us even though contact said we could. Please add us to class action. They are a fraud. We paid thousands of dollars and were never able to use it because they said we were never current. [protected]@gmail.com
member service complaint
This very unethical timeshare company doesn't even deserve 1 star but I was required to rate it with at least 1 star.
It took us two years after we purchased a vacation package, to get reservations at a hotel that wasn't even our first choice. This is because according to them there was no availability until the following year. In the meantime, we would have lost our points if we didn't use them so we had to settle going to a resort we didn't like. Mind you that their resorts can be booked online by anyone, so that members that already purchased a timeshare have to wait for availability.
Their billing system is also terrible. I've been trying to reach someone in the billing department for 9 days without success. They tagged optional charges for a grey card we didn't want which after I paid the maintenance fee for the year, was showing the grey card fee as delinquent so they also tagged an additional late fee for $75.00.
I have even tried to give the time share back to them but they won't take it back!
I also feel very sorry for our elderly friends who were taken for $50, 000 and can't seem to go anywhere they want. This couple kept upgrading their vacation package so they could go to Europe and to date (5 years now) have not been able to go! They want to hire a lawyer which will cost them an additional $5, 000 to $10, 000 but they don't have the money because this timeshare maintenance fees are so ridiculous.
This timeshare company will say anything they think you want to hear in order to close a sale. We were told and even shown that we could book anytime, and anywhere online or by calling them and that as time share holders we would have priority, which was an outright lie!
In Las Vegas this timeshare company goes by Sapphire Resorts, Geo Holiday, Hawaiian Village, Jockey Club, and other names in other, so please, if you value your money, BEWARE LEST YOU FALL INTO THE TRAP WE FELL INTO!
trying to cancel membership
I have had a membership since 2012 and have only been able to use one travel week, after paying extra fees through rci for my geoholiday membership. I paid over $2000.00 to join then yearly membership fees since joining. I was told my credits would be transferred and accumulated with rci if I could not use with geoholiday and I could cancel my membership at any time as long as I did it more than 6 months prior to the end of the current membership year and I did not use the credits for that year. Geoholiday only takes my money and never provides a service of providing accommodations as promised in the initial presentation unless we pay additional costs.
I need to cancel this membership... Please help
Aka sapphire resorts - they informed me that I can cancel membership by paying minimal fee... Now they are not honoring
2015 resort trying to get... Required to call reservation - never got back to me in june - followed up in november - nothing membership can be canceled, but changed rule in september was never told. I requested to cancel membership and informed will do when I return to us mainland. Now I am back, they are to honoring as rules changed... Without prior notification. Sold as told there was a secondary market which that with minimal fee to cancel, not there are not any...

We have a timeshare at Geo Holiday Sapphire and they lied to us. They said that we could use it anytime but when we called to book a room for a weekend, they said that it was booked for the next two years. We have to pay dues to something we can't never use because it's always booked. We are going to file a lawsuit against them.
Fraud
Stay as far away from this Company as you can. Once you give them money and sign a contract with them they will, hang up on you, tell you to prove it, they are rude, nasty and just refuse to talk with you. We had to provide a deposit 149.00 and agree to 2 tours. we made the mistake of purchasing from them on our first tour. We then returned for our second tour and explained we were not happy and would not be interested in investing more money. The salesman cancelled the tour, he also stated he was cancelling our Hawaii Vacation. We never received our deposit back. We never received our Hawaii Vacation and now they are refusing to let us deposit our weeks into RCI so we were scammed all the way around.
Scam
Please do not go on this time share tour, it's a scam. We went to first one, the they said we have to go back after 6 mo to go to another then we get our money back, well we have schedule 3 times they cancel on u last minute, then they offer u a low rate hotel, they will not give me my $99.00 back cause now time run out, wait they cancel on me. Not my fault. Scam
We were told we could refinance our escrow and that wasn't true, we were told we could use this as a write off on our taxes and that's also not accurate. We are financially struggling to pay our monthly fees on top of a 1500$ yearly maintenance fee. Can we do a pay off? We will gladly pay to exit the timeshare
Hello there
We every day receive a call from "Geo Holidays" we told them we are not interested but they still call and annoy us, there phone number is [protected] and they call to us, our phone is [protected]. Please make them stop to annoy us.Thanks
Timeshare Fraud
I have owned real timeshare since 1990 and have had wonderful experience with it. I have a week of red time which means it's in high demand all year long. So, i know what timeshare is however, i was told i was getting a week in las vegas which everyone knows that las vegas is the #4 destination in the us. The sales folks lied and said you can will it deed...
Read full review of GeoHoliday Vacation ClubThey refuse my dates I reserve
I spoke with one of the customer service reps and tried to make a reservation for certain dates and they said they were booked up but I spoke to someone that works for the company and he said there were available rooms for those dates but the company is keeping those dates to make more money by renting the rooms themselves. And they raise the maintenance fees for no reason. GeoHoliday is ripping people off and its using bad business ethics.
I own time shares and I know that they hold rooms for rent... That is how they make money... Only a set number are for time share owners.
Lies and misrepresentation
We were talked into trading our current time share in to upgrade to geo holiday for additional and easier vacation bookings. After trading our time share in and paying an additional $9000. 00, we went in for our "educational review" and found that not only did we lose our current time share which was 1 week a year, but now we had 1 / 2 week a year and no additional or easier bookings. We actually paid them 9000. 00 to give them our timeshare! This was all lies and misrepresentation which needs to be illegal
Membership dues increase 100 every year now increase by 400 WTF ###
Scam can't use
Very true the complaint GEOHOLIDAY/ STARPOINT are nothing but scams. We fell for it as well and can't get them to buy it back. One week in Vegas every year, can't get there with GEO. May 2013 went on owner teach to use only to be told you have to buy more to use but you still can't get to Vegas with GEO.Well surprised got call to come for another owner...
Read full review of GeoHoliday Vacation Clubnon compliance of trade-in agreement
Me and my wife purchased a timeshare with Starpoint Resort Group/Geo Holiday in Las Vegas with a trade-in of our other timeshare in Cabo San Lucas involved. Our contract included a Trade-in Agreement and everyone on the table was aware that the purchase is dependent on the closing of the trade-in. We were assured the trade-in will go through without a hitch because Universal Vacation Club/Villa del Palmar is a resort they have been doing a lot of business with and they processed a lot of trade-in in the past that went well. We fully paid our contact in March 22, 2012 and Starpoint Resort sent us a confirmation letter for that. We also paid maintenance fees on time BUT come November 2012, I received a maintenance statement for 2013 from UVC/Villa del Palmar which prompted me to verify why are they still collecting maintenance when we're suppose to be not owners anymore because of the trade-in. UVC cleared that we are still owners and there was no trade-in. This was when I started calling Starpoint's customer service until I ended up dealing with Erin Anderson who they said is the only one who I can talk to regarding trade-ins. Communicating with Ms. Anderson was a pain; she never picked up her line and never returned my calls. For almost a month, all I did was leave messages. Sometime in December, she finally called back and she herself confirmed that there were no notes nor status about the trade-in in our account. It was in January when she finally said that the trade-in didn't happen but the contract is still binding. I argued that they didn't comply with the contract agreement and did not send us any form of communication to notify us of this issue. I also found out from Stewart Title Company from Kristen who handled out trade-in that she notified Starpoint as early as April 2012, weeks after we fully paid, that UVC does not accept trade-in with corporations. It was obvious that Starpoint dropped the ball and didn't do anything to fix the issue because they got what they wanted from us anyways...our money. When Erin stopped communicating with me to resolve the problem, I filed a dispute with American Express which I used to pay our account. AMEX made numerous resolution attempts but was also eventually ignored so AMEX resolved the dispute to our favor in May 2013 and refunded us all the payments we made to Starpoint/Geo Holiday thru Equiant who is their billing and collection agency. A few ago, we started the refinancing process of our home only to find out that Equiant reported us delinquent for more than 120 days to the credit bureaus and because of this, the refinance is on hold. It's been almost two weeks now since I emailed a complaint and sent all pertinent documents to Equiant but no one has communicated with us yet. We already spent 7 months battling with Starpoint and now we're dealing with this issue again. We've wasted so much time and suffered so much stress and anxiety from these people and this has to stop. I've heard of similar and a lot of complaints about this company, they should be barred from the business.
Timeshare
We stayed at the MGM Grand when we went to Vegas. We decided to go for a stroll at Fremont Street around noon for lunch and we headed off for a walk we were approached by a guy who is offering a good sale ticket to a show and buffet for 2. First he approached as in a non threatening manner very friendly and he asked how long are we still staying in Vega...

lack of accomodation
January 2012 Jockey club . Las Vegas .
We purchased a package from a sales manager "Sonny" (after the rep failed to sell us a timeshare" . The finance manager called Kermit did the paperwork.
He promised us a timeshare for 4950 points (normal deal is to purchase 20, 000 points and spend 20, 000 on 1 holiday) if we rang Geo within 30 days of the holiday date for any location (usa, Europe, etc) at any date. sounds good ..but ...
We did this and the telephone operator said sorry no holidays for this period in spain or Portugal. The brochures (Geo & RCI are full of apartment blocks but none available. The operator said sorry ..nothing ..bye bye. this took 2.5 hours from Belfast We rang another number and another number. no good. finally got a "director" who has not bothered replying to our telephone and e-mail requests for an apartment.
I suggest that anybody looking at this timeshare option think twice or 3 times before handing over their money . we got lots and lots of documents./contracts which look good but so far appear to be worthless.
I wonder if Geo holidays actually provide holidays. we shall see.

Rip-off
We got an unsolicited call to listen to a timeshare presentation via the Jockey Club. They promised a whole bunch of gifts, like $100 in casino play, free vacations at the Jockey Club, dining cards, etc. I let my wife take the call since I had to do something else. That was a mistake. She was confused about the package and wanted more details. The saleswoman said, "You have to make a deposit of $99 before we show you the offer in writing." I didn't think anyone would fall for that but my wife did. So we got stuck with paying out $99 so we could have 72 hours to review the "offer." I guess they did not say our deposit was refundable. So we wait a day and no email is forthcoming so we cannot review their offer. We call back and finally get the email sent again and it is different from the offer they made over the phone. We call back again to clarify and they say, "Oh, of course you can have what you want, we'll send another email to clarify your questions." So another day and no emails. (I think they deliberately stall on sending out emails so you pass the 72 hour time to review their offer). I call back AGAIN and they say they will send out the email again and have the same saleswoman talk to us. ONLY she can answer our questions.
Finally, after another day and no response, I call back to just get our refund back. We are told to call a different dept and I get some uppity gay guy who starts to tell me that we ONLY had 72 hours to review the offer. I had assumed there was a money back if we don't accept and when I tell this guy, "Just give us a refund." he says, "No, you are past the 72 hours you were allowed to review the offer." It has only been 2 DAYS, 48 HOURS, since our deposit was taken but this CLERK can't even do the math. I tell him I will name him in a lawsuit against his company and his reply is, "Go ahead, that doesn't intimidate me!" I demand our deposit back and he just simply refuses to give us our money back." I hang up and try calling back to speak with a manager. The next 5x I call, the line is answered and hung up IMMEDIATELY. So these guys seem to be a MAJOR SCAM to take your deposit and then REFUSE to give you a refund.
I finally reach a new manager who apologizes for the rudeness of their employee. I tell her she doesn't need to apologize, the clerk who refused to issue a refund needs to apologize and the silence tells me, "that's not going to happen." I tell her just to refund our deposit and that's when I'm told, "It will take 4-8 weeks for our accounting dept to issue the refund." It took them 10 minutes to take the money out of our account and now it will take 4-8 weeks for us to get a refund. This is a MAJOR SCAM so DON'T give them a $99 deposit. That's making an offering to buy your house and having thebuyer say, "You need to make a $99 deposit in order see our offer."

Fraud/Misrepresentation
I have owned 3 timeshares in my life. This by far was the worst! From the beginning to the end and from top to bottom, it was a night mare experience. Here are some some people to avoid in this time share in Las Vegas called the Jockey Club. They are are skilled in deception and taking your money without giving you anything in return; Keven Luce (sales person who is trained in misrepresenting Geo Holidays), Linda Carlson (sales person; she will make you sign the "reciept of public offering" before you are able to read it); Sonny Damlakhi (he's the sales manager and "closer" who will make you a new offer that is not legitiment after you say no to the first person); Arron Synder (Supervisor of customer service, who ignores your complaints and delays you every step of the way when you try to get questions answered); Dan Rumsey ( he will see you a few months after you join to tell you that the number of points you have is not adequate and will try to "upsell" you); Alan Deckler (Chief Operating Officer) who is behind the scenes henchman that allows for the debatchery to take place. Put them altogether and you have a well oiled machine that knows how to sidestep every question or concern of every honest person that sets in on their sales meetings thinking that the sale person who is communicating with them is as honest with them as well. NOT! I was told that since I owned another timeshare they would take it off my hands (buy it back) and offer me a better price. I did not want two maintenece fees and two time shares so it sounded good to me. Well, sorry to say, I believed them and bought a membership into the "Jockey Club" in Las Vegas only to find out later from GEO that my previous timeshare would not take it back because of a clause that says I cannot sell my time share to a competitior! So that left me stuck with two timeshares. Geo of course gave me the "were so very sorry but there is nothing we can do" story. I asked why they did not have a list of timeshares that would not re-purchase a timeshare from them? I said that it was negligent on their part not to be aware of those companies. They agreed that they needed to do that. Later I read in their contract the same clause that stated the same thing...no member of Geo properties could sell their time share to a comptetitor! what a dispicable company and what a dispicable group of individuals who works to cheat people out of their money! I will persue legal action. Stay clear of them and if someone knows of a class action suit agains GEO in the US please let me know...I want to join that suit...STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE!
