Hot yoga
Previously I was a member of GoodLife for a number of years and rejoined last week under a corporate membership with my significant other. Previously, I had purchased a ten pack for hot yoga and I was told they would not expire so I kept the GoodLife tag it was registered on. So I brought it in yesterday to find out how many I had left thinking I would...

Hello Goodlife, I Would like to acknowledge you about the showers in the men's change room at 10th line Goodlife, Orleans. The showers are filthy dirty with mildew, mold, dust & have a very bad odor inside the shower stalls. This is unsanitary and unhealthy for us Goodlife paying members. The showers should be renovated ASAP. I've heard from multiple...
Read full review of GoodLife FitnessGeneral state of the inglewood village goodlife fitness
Hi Everyone,
I have been a member of the Inglewood Village Goodlife for a few years. I have reached out to Robbyn Tremblay to bring up general issues regarding the overall state of our gym and have seen little improvements, I frequent the downtown locations often as well and do not see these issues at other locations, examples:
1. Broken machines we have at least 10 machines down at all times that take on average 3-4 weeks to get repaired
2. Our Large TV screen hasn't functioned or been turn off for 4 months, the photo attached is prior to the screen been turned off completely
3. The Cardio machine televisions 1 out of 4 works, biggest issue the floor cabling box was very poorly designed compared to other locations (the connectors are not protected, and members easily step on them and damage them
4. cable machine, weight stickers/labels are missing on many machines, as you increase or decrease weights no idea what we are lifting
5. Lots of bench material ripped fixed with red gun tape.
Again I have been a 530am regular customer for a long time, plenty of regulars have moved on to other gym due to the poor conditions and lack of maintenance. Steve Laforge [protected], [protected]@gmail.com
Desired outcome: I just want these items to get fixed so that I can enjoy the full experience, when I go to the Edmonton Brewery District Goodlife I do not see these issues.
Probation due to termination
I was I personal trainor at GL in halifax, Barrington, I was fired for reasons that should not have been. They gave me a 1 year probation period where I was not permitted membership . This was over 2 to 3 years ago. I joined recently under my new name due to unforseen circumstances, and then my membership was canceled and they said I was not allowed in for 5 years. I have the signed documents proving a 1 year. Now I have very bad mental health issues that I'm medicated for. Gl is definitely responsible for some of it and this is not helping. This needs to be rectified or I'm seeking legal council.

Reggie.d.[protected]@gmail.com
Desired outcome: I wanted my Memphis back because it helps me. Now it's obvious that I'm being punished and discriminated. I believe that GL is solely responsible for aiding in my mental health getting worse.
Poor treatment by staff member
To whom it concern,
I am filing this complaint because of the treatment I received from one of your staff member (Tanya) in GoodLife fitness (goldenmile location, Regina, SK). I usually workout pretty much everyday in this same location and i have my key fob on me most of the time and i was let in all the time and today of all day I forgot my fob and asked associate to get me in and provided my phone number. Then staff member asked me for name, DoB, email and address. I have never been asked for such things so far even if i went in without fob in the past. But when Tanya asked my name i thought she is verifying if its me so I confirmed the detail and then she kept asking for all the details as if i was just attempting fraudulent entry in the gym, i was also asked for my photo id. And when i told her i dont carry it to gym and i was calling my friend to send me picture of id and she refused to accept it. All this because the staff member who verified my information when i joined the gym dint click my picture. And I’ve moved 2-3 places since i joined so i wasn’t sure what address I’ve had on file and i gave her all address and showed her payment proofs and she declined to get me in. She wasted 2 hours of my time without letting me in because someone dint click my picture and she blamed me that i refused to give my picture to gym. I felt as if she was being racist as i was Indian (asian), but i am not gonna raise finger at that point as thats how i felt. But i sure need the action taken for all of my time that was wasted by Tanya as i had to drive all the way back outside the town to get my fob and id from my friend’s place. I dont care how but i need appropriate steps taken and also compensated. I need the update on matter.
Desired outcome: I need Atleast 2-3 month work of fees for my gym waived off or need credit for the same. As i wasted fuel and time for a small fob which wasn’t necessary at all.
Gym membership
Hello,
I took a membership in last week of June 2022 and paid $90 upfront. The sales guy at the bramlea City center Goodlife gym promised that you don’t have to make any furthet payments until august 1st week and even after cancellation on sept 10th 2022, they keep on charging my account. They are playing with me and I had already been their and all of them are making different statements whenever I visit them
Disrespectful workers
The day of the incidents date is September 16th, 2022 at the time of 12:35 am midnight. I was in the dry sauna enjoying the sauna after my extreme workout, and then a blonde worker and a male yell asking if someone is in the change room from out side, and I replied that I am inside. Then the blonde white girl that is an employee at the sherwood forest...

I'm am currently a member of your gym at Davis Ville and Mount Pleasant. I am seriously considering joining another gym as every time I go for a work out the floor is full of 10 and 12 year old's, they are either hogging equipment or being overly boisterous and never wipe down equipment after usage. If this is what your establishment has become a Day Care Centre then I will no longer be using your services.
Was a happy customer not anymore!
I was charged and did not receive any service
Hi , I am a returning client to GoodLife ( I used to go to gym before covid and never had a problem with anything) during the covid my husband canceled subscription and we stopping going to gym . Few moths earlier we decided to renew subscription again . My husband opened an account and could not add me . So then I wanted to open an account on my own . But I did not go through all the steps and I thought that that account was never opened .
And today I am receiving this email with outstanding payment . I have to pay 144$ for nothing , I didn’t even go once to the gym since COVID-19 . Service is terrible . Managers are not helping at all , they don’t explain anything . Very unsatisfied and upset
Desired outcome: I want to cancel subscription
Costumer Service
Today June 12, 2022
GoodLife fitness Bloor Islington Place
Worst customer service by Joey and Micheal. They both lack knowledge and it seems that they haven’t been trained properly.. that if GoodLife does any training for their employees.. I have a corporate membership and asked them if I can add two members of my family to my membership. They referred me to do it online. While adding them online I noticed that there was only one tab to add a member, and I wasn’t sure if I can add two. They told me that I can, but I have to do it one member at a time. I proceeded to add one of my family and checked out, I went back to the main menus to add another family, but I couldn’t.. Before I add the first member online, they told me that I could cancel right away and get a refund which I was okay with knowing that cooperate memberships really depend on the company I work with. However, after I registered one member and I told them to cancel it because I can’t add another one and they did cancel it, they told me that now I have to talk to the Manager to get a refund.. And the Manager only comes in weekdays 9-5.. this is unacceptable and they as employees of GoodLife they should be knowing this from the start and tell me this beforehand when I asked about the cancellation. They really lacked knowledge other than how they were rude in the way they were arguing with me to alleviate the blame on them. I did not expect this from GoodLife.. the employees they put on the front desk they represent the company..
Desired outcome: My desired outcome is not encounter this type of rudeness and lack of knowledge of the employees.. if they don’t know what they’re talking about, the only acceptable answer would that “I don’t know”.
My membership
Hi there,
I already cancelled my membership but I still see the deductions in my account. I request for a refund ASAP.
I have a email stating my cancellation. This is so stressful.
Unprofessional and unsanitary facility
I am concerned about my current location, property address of 3420 Major Mackenzie unit 20, in Vaughan. The staff doesn’t seem to want to be helpful and work outside their box, including management. My biggest concern for today and for the past few years we’ve had a serious issue with marijuana smoking in the underground parking lot with minimal...
Read full review of GoodLife FitnessNo showers
Goodlife in Belleville has not had shower facility since April 14th, 2022. This issue does not seem to be getting resolved any time soon, No information is given to members at all on updating them when it will be in use.
Head office needs to realize that is is causing major grief to the members and pushing us to go elsewhere in our city for memberships. My husband and I have been a member for over 25 year and have paid also for additional training and boot camps. Not once have we missed or not paid our fees, therefore I feel head office owes those people an answer on this problem and get it fixed immediately before the loyal members leave and never come back.
We do not live in the city and have to drive 30 minutes into workout, which we them go to work straight from the gym. Showers are a must! Lets get on this.
Why couldn't this of been done while the facility was at half capacity or when the building had to be shut down completely during covid rules. Pretty sure plumbers were an essential business that were open throughout.
Membership
In January 2022 while Ontario was still in lockdown, I called Goodlife to make sure my membership was still on hold. The lady on the phone informed me that they could no longer leave my membership on hold and that I would need to start paying my membership fees again. I explained to her that since covid was still surging that I would not be going to the gym. She became very rude at this point, telling me that they put my membership on pause as a favor and that I couldn't expect them to continue to not collect fees. At this point I asked her to cancel my membership. She did not even try to keep me as a member, and she continued to be rude and curt over the phone. In April I began returning to work. I called Goodlife to get my membership back. They said that yes I could continue my membership and would not have to start over as a new member. I have been a member for 8 years. However when my fees came out they are more than double. Also I no longer have towel service. I go to the gym with 2 of my co-workers. They were never told that their membership could not be paused. They continued being members and when they went back to work in April they returned to the gym. Thiers memberships are the same and have not increased. They also still receive towel service.
Desired outcome: I would like my monthly fees to return to the previous amount and the return of towel service.
Off-duty "staff member" harassing me in the weight section
On May 22nd 2022 7:45 PM (GoodLife Islington), I was putting weights on the barbell to prepare for a back squat (The weight number is irrelevant). Anyway, I try to adjust the equipment since I am a petite woman. This white man in tattoos, mind you not wearing the GoodLife uniform, was telling me about my "improper" form - loosely tied shoes, "improper" weight placement, even though I placed the bar lower to prevent injuries. This person yells at me to come to the front desk, starts treating me like a "lost child", asks for my parents (even though I'm in the age of majority). I keep telling him that I live by myself, pay for my own rent, but he is not buying any of my "excuses". He tells me I should use 2 LBS dumbbells' to "tone" my body, and use machines with weights up to 10 LBS, or I would "injure myself", despite having 2 years of experience. I'm so sick of GoodLife employees taking advantage of petite women, and treating them like children, despite being adults.
Desired outcome: I would like a refund or transfer to a different gym
Individuals using sauna wearing running shoes and gym wear.
I am a regular member at 3420 Major Mackenzie Dr W, 201, Vaughan ON L4H4J6 After my work out I shower and then use the sauna, there are members who right after their workout go into the sauna with in their sweaty clothes and wearing their running shoes, they stink and it’s against the rules. I have complained to staff there, even to the manager of the gym. These members still continue to break these rules.
Read full review of GoodLife FitnessClosure of GoodLife fitness centre in Village mall, St. John’s
I am saddened to hear that my good Life family here in the village mall in Saint Johns is closing. It is in my lovely neighborhood, a very short drive from my house. I go there five times a week, sometimes six. It feels like I’m walking into a part of my family. They are great people there, always clean, very courteous and helpful bunch. Everyone there respects each other, and I just love going there every day. This gym has helped me get out of a very deep depression, a place that I feel very comfortable, and I don’t know if I will ever go back to Good Life when this place closes . The new gym that is taking its place is a discounted gym, as well it doesn’t offer half of the amenities that Good Life has. So this was not an option for me. Whenever I come into this gym, it is always a very vibrant and populated place, but not populated enough that you can’t use the equipment . I am very saddened by this news. If there is any hopes in keeping the space open, you will save members of the Good Life community. There are many people discussing leaving the gym all together if this location closes. The price of gas is too high for me to drive any further for another location. Please consider myself, and the many people that mirror my opinion . A lot of people discuss it and never reach out, but I am a doer and not sayer:). Please reconsider this decision.
Sincerely, a good life member, hopefully forever
Marlene Thompson, Village mall member, St. John’s ,NL
Desired outcome: Please keep this location open!!!!
Membership Cancellation
I myself with my partner who has Goodlife corporate membership called our home location to cancel the membership on April 18th 2022. The representative asked me to send an email based on the fact that I am the primary holder of the membership. I have sent the email and included the name and membership number for the cancellation. I was charged even after the email was sent so I reconfirmed the email address from the home location (Barhaven Stranherd) and sent the email again but it did not work out again. I had to call the location again and they acknowledged the email that they will cancel the memberships for me as they checked the email sent previously. No one mentioned to sent a different email form my partners account (first time or even after acknowledging the received email that you have sent this email ask your partner to send different email) I saw the charge again on May 13th 2022. I called the corporate line this time and she mentioned something about my partner being age of majority and he would need to call himself, when I mentioned that we called together she switched herself to send a different email. I am so frustrated as I am looking to do a simple cancellation and no one can help me, give right information just because there is no sale involved. When I was speaking to Aurelia about this she pulled things like it has been said in contract and this and that and it might only a verbal miscommunication. Therefore I asked her the procedure to lodge a formal complaint and Aurelia keep on saying that she can take my feedback for internal training and there is no way she can put a formal complaint. As a customer I was not given a right of lodging formal complaint, as a client I was not given right information when asked because there was no benefit of sale involved. And when I agreed to go though feedback she was more like I will escalate but there is no follow up involved. This is not what I expect from a such a big club in Canada that they do not have any procedures for clients for formal complaints or have their employees not give right information or review the emails for the service.
Daisy.[protected]@gmail.com ([protected])
Desired outcome: I would require to backdate the cancellation for me and my partner's membership from the Day I sent the first email and take a not for the fact that there should be a formal procedure for the formal complaints.
20 to 30 minutes to get hot water for a shower
I am a member in Peterborough Ontario. The signs are posted on the doors at least 20 minutes for hot water to shower. Yesterday I had to wait 30 minutes for the water to get hot. This is rediculous. Showers are included in the price. If you cannot fix this I would like a discount on my memebership. No one has time to wait 20 minites for hot water to shower at your gym.
Desired outcome: Immediate hot water for gym showers.
Harassment at the gym
I was harassed at the GoodLife fitness today at 3660 Kingston Road. I know it is talked about how women are consistently harassed at various gyms but this was a very scary experience and really uncalled. So I am working out at weight section at 6:07pm exactly on Tuesday April 19th. I set up my squat machine and also take a a weight bench so I could do a...
