We got a trip booked for a big bunch of high school seniors from NY to Bahamas on 4/10
We got a trip booked for a big bunch of high school seniors from NY to Bahamas on 4/10. 'Cause of Coronavirus, this trip can't and won't happen. Other hotels and airlines have given back the money to travelers, but Grad City is still saying they don't know if they'll get the money back, so they ain't giving us a refund. Instead, they're offering to reschedule the trip to keep our money. Nobody feels good about rescheduling, we just want our money back for a service we never got 'cause of a global pandemic.

I went on a trip with Grad City and it was not a good experience
I went on a trip with Grad City and it was not a good experience. First of all, there was mold in the room. It was disgusting and definitely not what I expected. Secondly, the advertisement was completely misleading. They promised all these amazing amenities, but when we got there, it was nothing like what they described. Lastly, my son has been coughing non-stop since he came home from the trip. I'm not sure if it's because of the mold or something else, but it's definitely concerning. Overall, I would not recommend Grad City trips based on my experience.
I bought a trip for my son through Grad City
I bought a trip for my son through Grad City. The trip was set for June 15, but was canceled on May 27. They canceled last minute, despite knowing the destination was shut until July 2, due to Covid-19. They advised me to file a claim with the travel insurer, which I did on June 1. I submitted all required documents as instructed by Grad City. Over 100 days have passed without a response. Despite numerous calls, I'm always told I'll be contacted eventually. Grad City, who received my payment for the trip, is unresponsive.
I paid ovr $3000 for my daughters' senior trip which was scheduled to begin on May 23
I paid ovr $3000 for my daughters' senior trip which was scheduled to begin on May 23. GradCity advisd us in May that due to travel restrictions they were unable to fulfill their part of the contract and offrd anothr date or refund less $379 per person. They subsequently advisd that the new trip date wasn't doable. They alleg that vendors which were paid in advanc were non refundable but GradCity refuss to provid proof that they paid anything on our behalf. We were instructd to file claims undr the travel insurance we purchasd howevr we've not receivd any indication they will reimburs us for GradCity's inability to provid the services we paid for!

I booked a senior trip for high school with insurance from Breakaway Beach to an undisclosed location
I booked a senior trip for high school with insurance from Breakaway Beach to an undisclosed location. My passenger name was redacted and my Passenger Code was J5PD8VE. I had travel insurance through Travel Insured International with the plan/policy number 210525GRPS0502. The departure date was 6/11. I informed them on 5/16 that I wouldn't be able to go due to health reasons, and I provided proof. I had to fly out for an oral issue and had surgery around the date of the trip. Since it's now 2023, I've tried multiple times to get information from Breakaway to complete the claim form for the insurance company, but they're not cooperating.
I was payin for my daughters trip and decided to cancel cuz of the uncertainty of COVID
I was payin for my daughters trip and decided to cancel cuz of the uncertainty of COVID. I was advised there would be a $300 cancellation fee and would be refunded only $400 10-14 days after cancelin. I cancelled 9/24 and as of 6 weeks later have only received $150 refund. I emailed customer service to let them know I only received partial refund and they let me know the refund is sent in 3 parts and they had been processed on there end and I needed to double check. I doubled checked and refund was not there, since then I have reached out via email and telephone countless times to inquire about the status and get no response. Just as easy as they took my money they should be able to refund me. It should not be this hard to get my refund.
I paid for my son's trip to the *** for Spring Break with Grad City trips
I paid for my son's trip to the *** for Spring Break with Grad City trips. But, dang it, because of COVID-19, they had to push it back to June. They said we could get our money back, but they want to charge us a whopping $479.00 fee. That ain't right, man. That's a lot of dough that could go towards college tuition. We didn't ask for this mess, so why should we have to pay extra? It feels like Grad City just wants to squeeze more cash out of us because they keep postponing the trip. It ain't safe to travel right now, so who knows when this thing will actually happen. We shouldn't be punished for this situation. We paid in full, so we should get a full refund. Can someone please help us out? Thanks, y'all!
They will steal your money
They will steal your money. This is a dishonest and unfair company, almost like an internet hacking group. The process for canceling is a total scam to take most of your payments! My problem is that when you buy trip insurance ($149 x 2 people), you expect it to cover the original trip purchase if you need to cancel. But no, Grad City and their shady crew have decided that they not only deserve the $298 from the insurance, but they also deserve half of the payments (so far) for a trip that's almost 5 months away. That's an extra $525 they stole! This is not normal in any industry! The whole point of buying insurance is to protect your original purchase, and Grad City has no right to keep anything other than the insurance money. Taking $525 is basically a crime! They need to give the money back and change this unfair practice!
We booked a high school senior trip for April
We booked a high school senior trip for April . The original plan was to make monthly payments until the full amount was paid by Dec 2020. I called the company in September and they agreed to pause the monthly payments until they had more information about whether the trip could happen. They also mentioned that the full payment, which was originally due on Dec 11, would be extended until Jan 11. They explained that if parents canceled before Dec 11, they would keep a $300 deposit, but if it was after Dec 11, the payment would be non-refundable. They also assured that if they canceled the trip, they would refund the entire amount. However, today I received an email stating that the original full payment was still due on Dec 11, along with the original cancellation procedures.
I went online and found out that the US government advises against non-essential travel to the ***. They also mentioned that a nasal swab test needs to be done before and during the trip, and that travelers cannot return to the US until they receive the test results. This raises concerns because we have no control over how long it takes to get the results, which could cause minors to miss their flights. Additionally, there is a nightly curfew of 6pm, while the grad city trip promises nighttime events. Therefore, at this time, they cannot guarantee us this trip. They should either extend the deadline for the final payment or cancel the trip and refund all of our money, since they cannot keep the $300 deposit if they cannot provide the original service.
The latest email they sent to parents seems like an attempt to make parents cancel the trip out of fear of losing all their money, rather than just $300. The bottom line is that grad city has not addressed how they plan to handle the new travel requirements for students. They have also not canceled the trip and refunded the money in full, or extended the payment deadline for parents without the risk of losing their money. If they want us to be patient and wait to see if travel restrictions change by March, which seems unlikely, then they should not ask for more money while they address this issue. They should also confirm that they will not keep our deposit if grad city cancels the trip because they cannot provide the service.
