overprice
While looking on the net to find a grammar checker, I ended up by taking the one month free trial period with grammarly.
Those ones, since, charged me 3 times 29.95$ on my credit card despite the fact I clicked the correct options to suspend their bad service.
This company is litteraly stealing money from potential client by supplying unclear and wrong information on the net.
I am in the process to call my bank to fill an official complain about that company and I strongly advise you to do the same if we want those unacceptable practice to stop.

can't reach anyone there & won't answer emails
I have tried every phone number for Grammarly.com and you always get a automated system. They don't return phone calls or emails. Paid for the 1-month service through Pay Pal to start after 7-day free trial. However, when I went on there site it doesn't work. If no one response to this compliant, I will defiantly cancel! But after reading all the posts I may not be able to cancel. Does anyone know how to reach a live person at Grammarly? Help!

this service is pretty worthless
Somehow Grammarly seemed to work fine on my Mac when I was testing out the free service. As soon as I paid I was unable to access the edit screen after log in, regardless of which browser I tried. It's also shady that they do not tell you up front that the Word plug in does not work on Macs, which makes this service pretty worthless.
unauthorized billing on free trial
I read about this online tool called Grammarly and out of curiosity; I decided to try it and registered for a trial period. With out having any doubt on the request for submitting my credit card details for information purposes as stated on the website, I filled out the registration form. And was charged $11.66 on my subscription to free trial. However, on 3rd November, I received an email from [protected]@grammarly.com stating that my credit card has been charged $139.95 for a yearly subscription which I did not authorize. HOW CAN THEY TAKE MONEY FROM MY ACCOUNT WITHOUT MY PERMISSION. They should inform before debiting from our account. I feel like I have been scammed and am being defrauded of my money. I expect a refund of my amount and complete cancellation of my grammarly account. As I see many complaints unanswered I expect a reply to my complaint at the earliest.
Sincerely,
Poojitha S

Grammarly charged my account without my authorization! How do you I get a refund?
non-authorized billing/subscription
Having read about this online tool called Grammarly and being a teacher and translator; I decided to give it a try and registered for a trial period. Unsuspicious of the request for submitting my credit card details for information purposes as stated on the website, I filled out the registration form.
I used the service only on the day I registered and did not bother with it again. However, on 20 August, I received an email from [protected]@grammarly.com stating that they were billing me $ 139, 95 for a yearly subscription, which I did not authorize.
I wrote to them stating my surprise and concern and in the reply, they stated that they cannot refund me the money since I did not cancel my subscription-to-be. Instead, they themselves cancelled the subscription but yet are charging me $ 139, 95 for a yearly subscription but not supplying the service they are going to get paid for.
I cannot describe how indignant I am at such conduct and feel I have been scammed and am being defrauded of my money.
Sincerely

fraud
I signed up for a trial subscription to Grammarly.com. I canceled the subscription online within the trial period. The company then charged my credit card $29.95. The company does not list its contact phone number. This is fraud. After searching online, it appears this company routinely engages in this type of deception.
I contacted Grammarly via their website. If I don't receive a response, I will report it to the fraud department of my card issuer and file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

every phone number is an answering machine
As many others have announced, this website steals your information and then refuses to contact you when you have a complaint. Every phone number is an answering machine. Check with BBB and they will show how many complaints that grammarly has gotten. Unfortunately, I was not one to look this up and have had trouble ever since.
I realized and I WROTE on email. I never heard from them. I apologize for giving the wrong email address in the first place but I asked if they could correct the email address. I am sure they refused and I never get a respond because this email goes nowhere. This email is non-existent unless they correct the email. I tried looking for a phone number to call and there is no phone number either too. I am trying this way to get their attention. However, I LOVE their
GRAMMARLY. Keep up the great work! Hope you can simply change the three letters in the email

multiple charges after cancelling account
After using grammarly for a month, I decided it was not for me. I cancelled my account and expected for the company to fulfill their end of the bargan by not charging my account from that day forward. It has now been 3 months. Every month I have tried to contact this company and they have not called me back. They are still charging my card. After doing more...

I signed up for the free 7 day trial and liked it very much. Then I paid for one year subscription and used my debit card. When I tried to download the softward, thankfully, my computer warned me that this software would destroy my computer. Now, my bank account is closed for my protection but what a hassle. Can't something be done to stop thieves like this? What a shame it's a scam as the program worked very well.
I had problems with Grammarly as well. Not only did I not like the product they provided, I was extremely dissatified with their customer service. They charged my card despite my previous cancellation and removal of their product from my computer. It took me more than two weeks to get a refund that shouldn't have been charged in the first place. Then, Heather Smith, one of their representatives sent me an absolutley awful e-mail telling me I was not charged, but to expect a refund, and I had been communicated this already and to check my Spam folder, of which there was no e-mails for Grammarly reps. Not only was she incorrect in her assistance, she was plain rude; so rude infact, I saved her e-mails should Grammarly ever want to research their despicable customer service. I read reviews and hoped this wouldn't happen to me, but it did, and I will never use, nor recommend Grammarly to anyone. I regret not listening to customer complaints.

over billing & billing on closed account
I wanted to check out Grammarly.com - the online grammar checker. I opted for a 1 month only plan. So I was to be charged about USD 20/- for that. Little did I realize that in the reams of fine print they state that despite you choosing a 1-month only plan, they enroll you and keep charging you beyond the month. I called & mailed, but no one returns the calls. The customer service always gos to an answering machine and the sole message I got was a standard blah blah about how Grammarly.com keeps billing to ensure uninterrupted service ; this despite you requesting a 1 month only plan! I resigned myself to the scam and closed my account pronto. Now the account is closed but I am still being charged. This is the 3 rd months now! Again calls/support queries are not answered.
To anyone wanting to use Grammarly.com, be careful it is scam! the software is slow and horrible to boot...

Sir:
I do not want an auto charge on Feb 1, 2025. I paid the $72 in good faith and only want that service. I must have the chose on Feb 1, 2025, to renew or not. If it takes $144, I definitely shall not renew. Please advise.
Received a message from PayPal 9/8/2023 that $144 had been taken from my checking account to pay Grammarly. I had NO knowledge of being set up for auto renewal. I called Grammarly immediately only to receive a message that the only way to communicate is via email to their customer support. It’s been several days and I’ve received no response.
Hello,

On May 3, 23 I got the Free Trial for 7 days for business account on Grammarly. I soon cancelled the free trial but to my Suprise on May 11 I was charged 75$. I did not intend to purchase for later. Please resolve my issue. This is unprofessional behavior and a fraud.
About a month ago I paid an annual fee to upgrade to premium. However, it does not come up on my account.
I expected to be billed monthly, not as one payment
I'd like to request a full refund on my original payment
I don't even know if grammarly premium is effective, it was just a trial for me. So why? One year's payment, why?
Kindly refund my money.
Regards.
I got Grammarly and at first, I thought it was awesome. But then ALL of the words in my project were underlined and when I clicked on them It told me to spell it exactly how I spelled it. Then I deleted it. BUT THEN I STILL GOT SPELLING ERRORS BY GRAMMERLY EVEN THOUGH I DELETED IT
Ps. Your ads are getting way to overboard and it is overrated
I did not authorize a payment and they processed the payment. I have been trying to get a refund, but all I get is that "my bank declined the refund". I called my bank and it was not true. This cause an overdraft on my account and now I had to submit a bank claim. No telephone support. I strong recommend canceling your subscription.
Don't even know where to begin. I can't even log on after paying for premium service. No support online. No phone support. No chat support. Total piece of crap
