AOL Mixed Experiences with AOL

As someone deeply familiar with the digital landscape, I understand the frustrations and joys that come with using online services. Looking at the reviews for AOL, it's clear that customers have had a mixed experience. Some have highlighted issues with customer service, such as difficulties in verifying accounts and challenges with technical support. On the other hand, there are positive notes about the simplicity of the platform and the ease of completing tasks like surveys. It seems like AOL has room for improvement in certain areas to enhance the overall user experience. If you're considering using AOL, it might be worth exploring further to see if it aligns with your needs and expectations.

AOL Safe and Secure Aol

I created AOL email keeping in mind the safety and security. And I like the service updates notifications that I get time-to-time from AOL admin, so I can keep my contact details and double check the security system and keep it updated.
AOL email service is quite a relief for a user that also helps making a spam free email service.

AOL I disagree with some of these negative reviews

I disagree with some of these negative reviews. AOL has been nothing more than a great friend to me. I tried hotmail that actually blocked me out of my own account and not just once but several times. I got no help from the customer service at all and they blocked me for no apparent reason allowing me to not even get on the site with my password. I have found AOL mail to be extremely better by far and I am enjoying all of its services. No complaints here for this one I can tell you..

AOL I have been trying to contact aol for over 2 weeks

I have been trying to contact aol for over 2 weeks now and have got nothing in return. I have filed requests for assistance on their website, left voice mails, sent emails and received nothing. This is causing a loss of business and is a serious burden on our company. The only this I get back is an automated email saying "Thank you for contacting AOL Email Support. In regards with the concern, please contact AOL Postmaster and send a request for support. For help on how to contact AOL Postmaster, please follow the steps below. 1. Visit http://postmaster.aol.com 2. Click on the "Postmaster Support Request" link 3. Fill out information under the "For Internet Senders (non-AOL members):" Note: AOL Postmaster is the department of AOL who handles incoming and outgoing emails. You may or may not receive a response email from them once you filed for the support ticket but rest assure that they are working for it. If the problem persists, please file for another ticket after 24 to 48 hours. Please reply to this email if you have further questions. "

ONLY ISSUE IS THIS WAS 2 WEEKS AGO AND I REPLIED SEVERAL TIMES WITH NOTHING IN RETURN NOT EVEN AN ACKNOWLEDGMENT THEY RECEIVED THE EMAIL.

AOL A Fledgling Company Trying To Find It's Way - Hopefully To The Trash Heap!

I don't use AOL for news content as there are better places. If you look on the net about AOL, all you see are comments from people equating them to an unrelenting variant that they want gone because they might get a brain infection. If you don't believe me, check out Consumer Affairs. The latest is that AOL has joined the sensationalist bandwagon and will silence and delete posts from anyone that's not a good fit. For that, I feel fine. I don't have AOL brain rot. But I'm sort of stuck with them for another reason.
I have Verizon email accounts that AOL controls. They are good to have because Verizon email is not scanned by search engines for data mining to sell you stuff. Now, if you have an email portal like Outlook with everything under one roof, you can look at all your emails without logging in to each account on line ~ that is until they no longer sync with AOL's servers as many people experienced. It was a deliberate move by AOL because it only happens to emails you receive, not what you send.

In a nutshell, instead of AOL just notifying account holders to generate a password on their site for each one, load it into your application, but keep your old password because you'll need one to log into AOL online should you want to punish yourself, until you do so, you will have to get your mail in AOL because AOL will not send it to your email program. That's why I have a program like Outlook ~ to make life simple.

I waited endlessly to get AOL on the phone to fix things, got disconnected several times, spoke to [censored]s that were clueless, was stirred and shaken and repeated the same crap a few more times until I finally figured it out myself. Even though AOL could have made life easy, they chose to torture people like me, that just want to read their latest emails by forcing the need to log into their garbage site like a hungry rat so that they could ramp up site traffic. Even Verizon concluded it was a big error to invest in AOL-Yahoo. Do yourself a favor, get the AOL vaccine and also a booster if they're still around.

Is AOL Legit?

AOL earns a trustworthiness rating of 91%

Highly recommended, but caution will not hurt.

Our conclusion: After a detailed review, ComplaintsBoard finds AOL to be a trustworthy company. Although there's a 6% resolution rate for customer complaints, which deserves attention, AOL is known for their high standards and safety. If you're thinking about dealing with AOL, it's wise to check how they handle complaints.

AOL has received 6 positive reviews on our site. This is a good sign and indicates a safe and reliable experience for customers who choose to work with the company.

The age of AOL's domain suggests that they have had sufficient time to establish a reputation as a reliable source of information and services. This can provide reassurance to potential customers seeking quality products or services.

Aol.com has a valid SSL certificate, which indicates that the website is secure and trustworthy. Look for the padlock icon in the browser and the "https" prefix in the URL to confirm that the website is using SSL.

Aol.com has been deemed safe to visit, as it is protected by a cloud-based cybersecurity solution that uses the Domain Name System (DNS) to help protect networks from online threats.

We looked up AOL and found that the website is receiving a high amount of traffic. This could be a sign of a popular and trustworthy website, but it is still important to exercise caution and verify the legitimacy of the site before sharing any personal or financial information

However ComplaintsBoard has detected that:

  • While AOL has a high level of trust, our investigation has revealed that the company's complaint resolution process is inadequate and ineffective. As a result, only 6% of 307 complaints are resolved. The support team may have poor customer service skills, lack of training, or not be well-equipped to handle customer complaints.
  • AOL protects their ownership data, a common and legal practice. However, from our perspective, this lack of transparency can impede trust and accountability, which are essential for establishing a credible and respected business entity.
  • We conducted a search on social media and found several negative reviews related to AOL. These reviews may indicate issues with the company's products, services, or customer support. It is important to thoroughly research the company and its offerings before making any purchases to avoid any potential risks.

AOL AOL Customer Service

I keep receiving notifications to update my payment method EVERY time I log on to AOL. Last week I spoke to another employee that said AOL was cancelling my subscriptions 2 subscriptions and waiving any fees. He gave me a confirmation number (#[protected]) I could give AOL to verify his decision, (since I was told the same thing from another employee before this last one.) He promised my notifications would stop. They have not stopped. Today I called AOL and spoke to someone whose English was bad who could not verify my concerns. Each time I call AOL it means staying on the line with customer service people for over an hour! Please stop the payment update notice on my account ([protected]@aol.com). It is as simple as it gets.

Claimed loss: n/a

Desired outcome: Please stop the "update your payment information" on my account.

AOL Third party email client can not connect with aol server

In the past two days I have been unable to reliably connect to my AOL accounts using Thunderbird. For years I have used Thunderbird with AOL and have had few issues. I have Thunderbird on my Linux system and Windows 11 system and the issue is the same with both.

I wiped Thunderbird off the Linux system, re-installed it and the same issue came up when I went to add my AOL accounts which are @verizon.net accounts. However, I have one aol.com account and that worked. However, even then it took a long time for AOL to verify my password.

As an alternate, I used a second third party email client and encountered the same issue; I could not access any of the accounts.

I get a message saying can not contact the server or the attempt was timed out.

What else can I try?

Desired outcome: I want to be able to use Thunderbird to access my AOL accounts as I have since AOL took over Verizon's email.

AOL Represents mental illness

The mental illness of these people is astounding now. They claim unity while reporting on fake news, post salacious stories that are false and divisive, always bashing Conservatives, but when you reply to say it's fake or counter the story with facts your comments are removed and you are banned. There hasn't been a truthful story since Russian collusion 8 years ago, but still their gullible followers are like soldiers now for these lies. The abuse of the 1st amendment is Fascist and dictatorial, and is creating a mental illness and hatred in their readers which manifests in real life and in the public as attacks on people and our freedoms. It's been the cause for some of the shootings and evil encounters we see in our real world that are racist and ignorant. While the left protects other's borders, they leave ours open and the people susceptible to crime, theft and death. We are being destroyed by these people and it seems intentional.

Desired outcome: Stop the Division and Be Held Accountable for their Lies.

AOL moderators, and topics being discussed

nearly every time I enter a discussion on aol, a person can make a rude and often untrue comment about a President or Judge, and a moderator will allow it, when I say something to defend these groups my comments are rejected, here is 1 of many examples over the last several weeks, CW writes Joe Biden is a Marxist, the Moderator allows this statement! I reply; No he isn't, you should read up on Marxism, my comment gets rejected. so how is it that my comment is being unkind and CW's isn't unkind? this form of one side prejudice has been going on for several weeks now I'm so close to canceling aol, there are other option other than aol, up to now I have stuck with aol, however if aol continues to allow moderators to be one-sided I will have to look for other internet options. saying sorry doesn't get it, ACTIONS DO!

9 the moderator allows this statement

Desired outcome: hurtful untrue comments on bout sides must be rejected,

AOL Redundant "policy" about account verification - Goes against logic and reasoning.

I made a brand new account earlier this year. Registered it with my phone number I had at the time. However, I recently got a different number last month (September) so I have no way to "verify" my account AFTER attempting to sign in with BOTH the correct email AND correct password..

They told me they cannot "verify" my account with the "information I was proving" Instead they tell me that "there was nothing more they can do"

So, in conclusion;

I attempt to login, using a valid email. With the correct password (I tried other ones - that prompted it saying it was incorrect; until typing the correct one bringing me to the next screen) The next screen was to "send me a text message" to the old phone number I no longer have access to. Incredible and absurd.

Desired outcome: I am able to provide verification of the name, last name, and phone number associated with that account.

AOL Computer repair asurion

My MacBook Air went into repair at the end of July. On July 28th I received an email that they were waiting for a part. Since that time I have called 8 times and have spent close to a total os 20 hours on the phone. Now I am told that they will give me 300 dollars for the computer. The computer is 3 years old! I was never given the Option to get the computer back. It needed a track pad since it worked fine with an external keyboard and portable mouse. There was no communication from repair and every time I called I was told that someone will call back in 24/48 hours. I never received a call back or an option to get my computer back.

Desired outcome: I want an equivalent MacBook Air or my original back in the same working order.

AOL Email recovery

I have an original Email address from AOL (Ktluvsdncn). I have the proper password, but I cannot log in. I have called at least 5 times over the last 2 weeks and they are unable to help me log in. I have the password, but the identifying phone number isn't correct. I have the email addresses that were underneath my login that belonged to my children. Not one of their employees has been able to help me. It's a good thing that I moved away from this company years ago. They keep telling me to call back, and there is never a supervisor available to help. This is the worst customer service I've ever experienced from a tech company since NOT ONE of them knows how to help me.

Desired outcome: I want someone who knows what they are doing to help me recover my account

AOL aol accounts

I travel frequently. Almost every time I travel, sometimes as little as 10 miles from my home, I get a message that aol (and yahoo) wants to verify it is me and to get a code from a backup account. The problem is that, although I have six accounts, they have blocked all of them so I can't get the code. Essentially, I am blocked, sometimes for days, from my emails on all accounts. The only solution they offer is to pay to talk to someone (who will probably tell me there is nothing they can do). It is a circular trap which fails to recognize that people do not always log in at the same location every time.

Desired outcome: Stop blocking my accounts just because I travel.

AOL Technical aid which is useless

I have what appears to be a simple AOL issue but four of your "technicians"

were unable to understand or find a solution. For two weeks now the total new e mails shown is in the hundreds and growing daily!

I have had 5 new e mails shown as 150. Is there anyone who understands

the source of this issue at AOL ?

Thank you for a response from a loyal

customer who has added on $$ in extra AOL services which are doing nothing for me. Friends say: "AOL is the worst ! Change to g mail !".

But I am still hopeful for finding a solution through a live person at AOL.

Thank you.

P.S. Even your robotic response is using erroneous grammar !

Laury Ford Jeambon

Desired outcome: Obviously, to get above issue resolved ! Program should show a new correct count instead of giving mesilly inflated numbers of 3 digits when there are no NEW MAILS.Does anyone at AOL know how program is created or flawed in this regard?

AOL email

I have had Aol for about 25+ years when I got their disk. I opened an email account and the phone number associated with the account was my home landline. About 15+ years ago I canceled my landline but can still use my aol email. About a couple months ago, Aol was changing their front-page and email page, despite everything was fine before. About a month ago I was asked by aol to enter my password to get into my emails. I never had to enter a password. Nevertheless, I tried several passwords that I may have used 25+ years ago. None worked. Aol could not send me a verification code because my phone was canceled. They could not send me a verification on a landline anyway! Aol showed me the last two numbers of my landline. I easily remembered the whole number. I called Aol customer service and told them the above information. Originally they instructed me to wait 24-48 hours for their system to reset itself. Days later I had the same instructions from another technical customer service rep. Later I was instructed to not attempt to log on for one week. That did not work. I asked to speak to a supervisor then was hung up on. When I called about the seventh time I asked to speak to a supervisor but had no success with her. When I asked to speak to someone who can fix the problem the supervisor hung up on me. I tried to contact the aol corporate office without success. I am sure I am not the only person who canceled their landline associated with their aol email account.

I should be able to access my email account without entering a password nor phone number. Luckily I automatically see my aol emails on my iPhone but that is sometimes a hassle to view documents.

Desired outcome: There should be someway to access my emails without entering a password or phone number on my computer.

On July 10 I was cut off access to my AOL account. The password no longer worked. I attempted to reset the password and the recovery email and phone number associated with the account was removed.

AOL AOL email address

I began with AOL in 1999. Last week I had a power cut all for twenty minutes, I had to sign into Microsoft with a new email as they didn't recognise my password. I found then I couldn't sign into my account on AOL as they said too that my password wasn't recognised. I went through various passwords I recall as I very rarely changed it at all. All they did was send me a recovery code - to the address I cannot access! I tried all my email address to no avail. I contacted AOL and they gave me all these stupid question which they asked me to confirm to the best of my knowledge-I. E name, the last three emails I sent with subject line, at least three folders I had created etc. I have done this four times now and they still say they don't recognise these details. I have no way of reading important emails sent to me from the bank, insurance people, and others. If it wasn't my account, how would I know this? In my folders I have things people have sent me, details of payments I have made, insurance docs. queries etc. and they say I am welcome to make another account! what is the point of that! If they actually sent me a recovery code to the address I sent them or my phone number, I would stand a chance! This has caused me an awful lot of distress, and I even explained to them I was in hospital and had suffered an injury which made me forgetful, to no avail (I had sepsis which the hospital thought at first was a stroke) I have so many things to relearn Please help me I am desperate. My Facebook is the same, all they do is send a recovery code to my inaccessible account!"

Desired outcome: i would like an apology and my account ,all i need is a recovery code sent to my new email,or phone.I only need this account .

AOL New aol revision of email web site

I have been an AOL user for approx. 25 years. I understand that systems sometimes need "adjustments" to operational use as time and/or applications take place.

However...I have never seen what are billed as "improvements" be so convoluted and complex as what I am experiencing with whatever the identified "new changes" are doing to the efficiencey and effectiveness of the user.

What used to be straight forward "click ons" and icon identification and one-step applications have been turned into a guessing game as to where in the heck to find these same functions. I now must search the entire page and then take additional steps to apply the "new technique" so that my objective is filled.

I have always supported AOL for its ease of use to those friends of my who have offered their criticism of my continuing AOL loyalty. Now, it appears I may have to "eat crow" as I decide where to end my AOL membership and seek a different, more friendly, more effective email vendor.

Desired outcome: Go back to the OLD SYSTEM which was always user friendly and straight forward.
