Neglect and fraudulent
Groupon had a hammam experienced listed from Crystal Palace Spa on Edgware Road- costing £240 for a 90 minute service for 2. The photos reflected the price and looked decent.
When I went the entire place smelt of sewage and it was a health and safely hazard. There was dirt everywhere, broken windows, unclean showers and dirty laundry on the floors. My service finished after 60 minutes not 90 as advertised
When contacting groupon for this misleading advert to get a full refund/compensation they refused. This multi billion dollar company neglects their customers and posts fraudulent services.
I felt unsafe and unsupported by groupon
They continue to disregard my experience or refund me let alone make sure I am ok or amend their services correctly online to reflect truthfully
Recommendation: Do not purchase from groupon they don’t value customer experience
Groupon UK is a Scam: Misleading Customers and Concealing Information
I thought of giving Groupon UK (groupon.co.uk) a try by purchasing a voucher for "Looking4Parking" at a discounted price of ?4, which stated that it would get me up to 35% off on my booking. However, the instructions provided on Groupon were difficult to understand as they simply asked me to use the Groupon code while making the booking, without providing clear directions or steps to follow. The only option to enter the code that I could find was at the beginning of the process, before clicking on the compare button. But despite entering the code, no discount was reflected on the site. To make matters worse, the price displayed using my Groupon voucher was ?76.95 instead of the regular price of ?67.72, which cost me an extra ?9.23.
Assuming the discount would be taken off at the end, I continued with my booking. But much to my dismay, the discount was not applied even at the end! Frustrated with the whole experience, I contacted Groupon to solve the issue. I was informed that to avail the discount, I needed to have the printed voucher with me on arrival at the company premises. But when I reached out to the company for confirmation, I was shocked to hear that Groupon had given me false information and that I would not receive any discount refund. Furthermore, the company confirmed that my booking was not discounted and that I could not even change or cancel it because of the type of booking.
Feeling stuck and helpless, I reached out to Groupon again but was advised to talk to "Looking4Parking" to resolve the issue and get a refund of any surcharge that I had incurred. I was surprised by this response as it is Groupon that has a contract with the company and advertises their deals on their site, hence they should be responsible for any issues that arise. Sadly, Groupon absolved themselves of any responsibility and threw the problem back at their loyal customers. It seems that Groupon just misleads their customers by deliberately concealing information and making them believe that it is a good deal when in reality it is a con.
Overall, I am highly disappointed with Groupon's services and deals, and lucky that I did not lose out on a large sum of money. I have decided to stop using their services in the future and warn others to be cautious when dealing with them.
Beware of Groupon's customer service: My account got hacked and they offered no solutions or compensation!
In December 2016, my account got hacked along with several others. The hacker fraudulently bought goods from my account, which left me devastated and confused. However, I was pleased as punch when I found out that my bank reimbursed all the money taken from account. But it was only half the battle. I decided to reinstate my Groupon account in March 2017 and henceforth, made two separate purchases which failed to go through, and it was unclear why.
When I raised the issue with the Groupon customer service team, they ignored me and advised me to try again later. Disappointed by their response, I raised the issue again in October 2017. This time I insisted that if it fails again, I want out and immediate termination of my account. In March 2018, when it failed again for a third time, I contacted Groupon and demanded that either the money I had in my account should be refunded, or products of equivalent value should be sent to me, in addition to the account termination.
To my surprise, Groupon refused to comply with my request for monetary compensation, explaining that they could only refund the price of an order and provide Groupon credit as a gesture of goodwill. They also said they could not place any orders on behalf of the customers, and therefore could not send me the 'Plant' - the product I wanted to purchase in March.
But the real issue here is the Groupon customer service team. They were next to useless! It's outrageous that despite my account being hacked, and being unable to use my account for more than a year, Groupon offered no solution or compensation for the distress they caused. Additionally, even if I had managed to apply for a new account and experienced the same issues, the security measures may be active under my name and not related to the Groupon account I am using, which would bring me back to square one.
Therefore, I strongly advise people to be aware of the risks they are taking when dealing with Groupon. If something does go wrong with your account, the Groupon customer service team is unlikely to provide a helpful solution to the problem, and any compensation offered may be in the form of store credit rather than a more useful refund.
False Advertising and Poor Customer Service: My Experience with Groupon UK
I recently made a purchase on Groupon UK for a Kids Foam ABC Puzzle Floor Mat. The product was advertised to include letters from A to Z, numbers from 0 to 9, and 36 interlocking pieces. The mat was made of EVA foam and was suitable for children aged 3 and up. The dimensions of the mat were also provided, with each square measuring 17cm x 17cm x 0.95cm, and the assembled size being 85cm x 136cm.
Unfortunately, my experience with Groupon UK was less than satisfactory. The item took much longer than expected to arrive, despite the promised dispatch time. It actually took so long that I had to contact customer service to inquire about the whereabouts of my purchase.
When the item finally arrived, it was far from what was described in the advertisement. Instead of receiving 36 interlocking pieces with A-Z lettering and a numbering pattern of 0-9, I received only 9 plain, poor-quality squares without any lettering or numbering. This was obviously not what was promised in the advertisement and was a huge disappointment.
I feel that this is a case of false advertising, and I am considering making a complaint to Trading Standards. Unfortunately, Groupon UK's customer service has not been helpful in resolving this issue. They have only sent a generic "How to Return an Item" email and have not offered to replace the product with the correct one or to issue a refund. They have also asked me to send back the product before they will issue a refund, which I am hesitant to do given the lack of trust I now have in the company.
Based on my experience, I would not recommend using Groupon UK. They have a reputation for falsely advertising and selling fake merchandise, and their customer service is unhelpful and uncooperative when an issue arises. I am disappointed with my purchase and feel that this was a waste of my time and money.
Groupon UK Review: Total Disaster - Low-Quality Items & Poor Customer Service
I decided to give Groupon UK a try and let me tell you, it was a total disaster. I ordered a total of 4 items between 30 June and 10 July 2015 and it was nothing but a headache.
The first item took 10 working days to arrive, which didn't seem too bad. However, the second item I purchased on 2 July never arrived within the 7 working days. When I contacted Groupon, they said they would send another one. I called back on 21 July to inquire about my missing item and to my surprise, they hadn't even sent another one and I had to wait 10 days before I could even get a refund.
The third item that I purchased on 6 July arrived 3 days over the expected time frame and to make things worse, it was of poor quality.
Last but not least, I ordered 2 Garden Loungers on 10 July, but I only received the cushions 6 working days later. When I contacted Groupon again after 7 days to find out where the rest of the loungers were, the adviser was unable to give me an answer. They said they would investigate and give me an update, but they never did.
When I called Groupon on 21 July, I spoke with an adviser who told me they had contacted the supplier regarding my missing items. I demanded a refund, but the adviser told me that her system could not process a refund. When I asked to speak to a manager, I was put on hold and then the call was disconnected!
I highly recommend that you do not use Groupon unless you want to receive low-quality items, and if they don't even arrive, good luck getting a refund. If it were possible, I would give Groupon zero stars for the service.
After sending them a link and a copy of this review, I have not received any response. I even tried using their online chat, but it never seemed to work or I would be stuck waiting for a representative to assist me, but no one was ever available.
After waiting for over 20 days, I received an email from them stating that they were still investigating the whereabouts of my order. It has now been 6 weeks and I am still waiting for my refund.
Overall, it was a horrible experience and I would not recommend Groupon UK to anyone.
Terrible experience with Groupon UK - unreliable delivery and disgraceful customer service
So, I recently had a less than stellar experience with Groupon UK and I just have to share my frustration with you all. I ordered a rug with a promised delivery time of 7 working days, but on the 8th day, still no rug. I contacted their customer service, but to my dismay, they were not helpful at all. I requested to speak with a manager, but was told that a manager would get back to me within 7-10 days. Can you believe that? It's been over a month and still no call from a manager.
I attempted to sort things out through their online chat service, but to no avail. I was left in the dark about what was going on with my order. Just this week, I received an email from them stating that my goods were lost in transit. While they did offer me Groupon credits as a refund, I am in no way happy about having to deal with them again. I have no intention of using Groupon in the future and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.
It seems to me that Groupon UK is running a shady operation. They take your money, promise delivery, and then leave you hanging with no information whatsoever. Their customer service is beyond disgraceful and it seems like nobody on their team knows how to apologize properly.
In response to the email I received from them, I let them have it. I demanded a full refund back to my card and told them that their customer service was a joke. I told them that they had caused me a lot of inconvenience and anxiety with this particular purchase and I wouldn't stand for it.
I ended my email by letting them know that I would be posting my experience on Twitter and other review sites. I want to make sure that other potential customers are aware of the terrible service that Groupon UK provides. If you're thinking about buying from them, my advice to you is to steer clear. Don't waste your time or money. In my opinion, they are nothing short of crooks.
Disappointing Experience with Groupon: Cancelled Order and Poor Customer Service
So, I decided to give Groupon a try for the first time and ordered a dressing table and a three-piece bedroom furniture set. I was really excited to receive my order especially as my mum, who works at a school, was off work and able to wait for the delivery. The delivery was supposed to arrive in 7 working days, so I checked the tracking every day to see when my mum would need to be home.
However, my excitement turned to disappointment when I tracked my order on the sixth day and saw an error message saying that my order had been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. I was really frustrated and decided to call customer service, which took me 15 minutes to get through. The lady on the other end of the line seemed quite clueless and told me that my address was incorrect, which I knew was not true as my address appeared as stated on my bank statement. I confirmed my address but was then told that the goods were no longer available.
I then asked to speak to a manager, but was told that there was no manager available and that I would have to wait for 5-7 working days to receive my full refund. This was really frustrating as I needed the money to buy new furniture. I was put on hold for an hour until I finally got to speak to a supervisor named Jeffrey. I explained my situation, but he told me that there was nothing he could do and that I would have to wait for my refund.
I felt really disappointed and let down by Groupon. I had given them ?250 for 16 days and received no furniture in return. I was also treated appallingly, and this has left a really bad taste in my mouth. I used to be a big Groupon fan, but after this experience, I won't be recommending them to my family or friends. I've worked in customer service before and know that it doesn't take up to 7 working days for a refund, which makes me think that Groupon just wants to keep my money for as long as possible.
Hit or Miss: My Experience with Groupon
So, about a year ago, I decided to give Groupon a try. I was able to buy two vouchers - one for a discounted meal at a wine bar and another for a meal at a restaurant in central London. Both experiences went smoothly, without any hassle!
Feeling confident about my good experiences with Groupon, I then bought a couple more vouchers. Unfortunately, that's when things started to go a bit wrong. One voucher was for a cleaning company, but they weren't able to give me an appointment until two months after the expiration date. I needed the service between Christmas and New Year, so it wasn't very helpful for my situation. The other voucher was for hypnotherapy sessions, which were quite expensive (over ?100). While the first session wasn't too impressive, I still decided to schedule a second session to see if it would work better. However, when I arrived for my scheduled appointment, the therapist cancelled due to the flu and never got back to me about a new time.
To make matters worse, when I tried to contact Groupon for a refund, it was an incredibly tedious process! They were difficult to get hold of, and emails went unanswered. Eventually, they tried to reimburse me with account credits again, but I didn't want them. I asked for a cash refund, and I eventually got it.
Looking back on my experience with Groupon, I learned a few things. Firstly, it's okay to purchase inexpensive vouchers from them. Secondly, you should try to contact the service provider as soon as possible to book your appointment. Thirdly, there isn't really any quality control, as far as I can tell. Finally, don't accept credits to your Groupon account if you don't want them. All in all, I'd say that Groupon can be a somewhat hit or miss experience.
Inadequate Customer Service and Pricing: My Experience with Groupon UK
I was browsing through Groupon UK's website when I came across a King size mattress priced at ?259.99. The offer seemed great until I found the exact same mattress on another website, Mattressworld, for only ?189.99. I decided to contact Groupon to ask for an explanation.
The customer service representative, Ahmad B., responded saying that Groupon doesn't guarantee the cheapest price on their deals and if customers find a better deal elsewhere, they are free to purchase from that source. However, this explanation didn't satisfy me as I thought Groupon marketed themselves as a discount site.
I raised this concern to Ahmad B. and threatened to close my account and post negative reviews of Groupon's pricing on various review sites if they failed to provide a reasonable explanation. Ahmad B. then said that Groupon offers a variety of deals to customers and they strive to provide the most competitive price. He advised me to send my feedback to Groupon's email address for improvement.
I still felt dissatisfied with the response as it felt like a stock response, and Ahmad B. was unable to provide me with a clear explanation. I noted that in our conversation, Ahmad B. seemed unwilling to help me and his responses lacked customer service.
I decided to let him know that I wasn't looking for a discount on the mattress, but rather an explanation for the price difference. Unfortunately, Ahmad B. only provided me with the same explanation and suggested that I forward my concerns to their specialized team's email.
At this point, I was quite frustrated and I let Ahmad B. know that his responses were disgraceful and lacked customer service. I also informed him that I would be posting about our conversation on review sites to warn people of Groupon's pricing. Ahmad B. responded saying that he had already provided me with an answer and that I was not willing to accept it.
However, I still felt like I wasn't provided with a clear explanation and Ahmad B. seemed unwilling to help me. He then ended the conversation citing my personal attack on him.
Overall, my experience with Groupon's customer service was not satisfactory. Their pricing seemed questionable, and their customer service representative was unhelpful. I hope Groupon improves their services and pricing to gain back their customers' trust.
Beware of Groupon UK: My Horrible Experience with their Services
I'm writing this review about Groupon UK (groupon.co.uk) to warn others of the horrors that I faced while making my recent purchases on their website. On the 30th of June this year, I spent a hard-earned ?320 on three products, but till now, more than a month later, I am still ?311.98 out of pocket and have received none of them.
One of my purchases was a pair of earrings, which was refunded the very next day without any explanation. I noticed that the same product was still being advertised for sale on their site, so I bought it again, only to face the same issue of being refunded without any explanation. Another product I bought was a pair of shorts for ?11.99, which was supposed to arrive in seven days, but even after two weeks, I didn't receive it and couldn't reach out to Groupon as the tracking info showed it was still in transit.
The worst of all was when I made a heavy purchase of ?299.99 for a garden furniture set, which took weeks to arrive, and then, the actual nightmare started. The courier had already made two failed attempts to deliver the product, which I was not informed of. On the day of delivery, I witnessed the courier outside someone else's property, and when I caught up with him, he had my furniture, but with incorrect delivery details and an incorrect phone number, despite the correct information provided to him earlier.
When I started unpacking the furniture, I saw that some components were wrapped in plastic bags, while others were damaged. I found that almost every component that was not in plastic was damaged and showed significant wear and tear. After contacting Groupon and showing them 13 pictures of the damage, they offered me a ?40 refund, which I refused. This went on for a few days, with me asking for a replacement or a full refund and them offering a meager sum which kept going up and down till finally, they agreed to collect the furniture.
Their courier picked up the furniture on 25/07, but I am yet to receive a full refund, more than a week and a half later. I am deeply disappointed with Groupon's services, and I advise others to think before purchasing from them and look for other reliable sources. Groupon can be misleading and not transparent with their communication. Shop at your own risk!
Unsettling experience with Groupon UK: No delivery, no response from customer service!
Hi there, Groupon UK has left me with an uneasy feeling. I have found myself waiting for the delivery of goods that may or may not arrive, which is a bit unsettling. After numerous attempts to contact them, I have yet to receive a response from their customer service. It's as if they're evading me on purpose or something!
I tried calling them on Wednesday, 22nd July, and I spoke with a customer service representative by the name of Dexter. He informed me that my complaint had been 'escalated' to another department but he could not provide me with the number to contact them directly. He said that he could not put me through but promised that they would call back. I insisted on speaking with a supervisor, but I got the brush off.
And, to add insult to injury, I still haven't received my order. Groupon has taken my money without delivering the specified goods, and the worst part is that they are unsure whether or not they can deliver what I really ordered. How is that even possible?
The customer service rep I spoke to couldn't even provide me with a time frame for my order, leaving me to wait in 'limbo.' I happened across an article that I found interesting and am making sure to include it. It appears that Groupon UK has promised to make improvements, but I have yet to see any of these changes in action.
As a concerned customer, I request a formal response from Groupon UK about my order. They have failed to deliver what I ordered yet they hold my money. It feels like the company is holding me to ransom. I'm sure others feel the same way.
I want answers as to when I'll be refunded or when I'll receive the correct order, and they need to be transparent about the process. I've already requested a response to my prior emails, to which I have received nothing. It's beginning to feel like I'm being ignored.
I hope this review gets published so that anyone else considering buying from Groupon UK is aware of the risk.

Disappointed with Groupon UK - Voucher Issues and Poor Customer Service
I used Groupon UK every now and than (sic) and it seemed okay. I wouldn't say I got great deals from it - equivalent deals are offered elsewhere, but I found it convenient. One small voucher issue has decided it for me though. I had a voucher for multiple online calendar purchases, which was valid until the end of 2012. I spent two days putting the calendars together and went to redeem it on 31. 12. 12, but the voucher didn't work.
I emailed Groupon and expected the issue to be resolved after New Year. After getting in touch with them by email and phone, when I did talk to someone, they accused me of not having enough time to do the calendars based on the time noted for attempted redemption. Never mind the fact that you can only redeem after putting the calendars together - so basically blame the customer. Also, they blamed me for emailing them with not enough time to resolve the issue. So the expiry date on the deals is not the real expiry date - it's the customers' fault for thinking it is!
After they told me off for their own screw-up, they told me the voucher had expired, so they can't do anything about it. They would not let me talk either, kept talking over me, and telling me I was yelling when I wasn't - classic service industry tactic to shift blame again to the customer. I've witnessed and been subjected to this to recognize it quickly.
At this point, I thought they could not offer me anything that would make up for the two days wasted and the Groupon voucher. Negative publicity is all that works for large organizations, so wherever I can, I will spread the word! I'm very disappointed with the service and attitude of Groupon UK and will not be using them again.
Warning: Terrible Experience with Groupon UK - Avoid!
Groupon UK is the worst! I don't understand why people still use them. I recently placed an order from them and it never arrived. I have spoken to customer services several times in the hope of getting it resolved but I have yet to hear back from their resolution team. This is the second time that they have messed me about. The last time was over 2 years ago when I ordered 2 cases of lemonade and only received 1. When I spoke to their customer service agents they told me that they didn't have enough stock but failed to inform me of this when I initially made the order. After weeks of talking to them, they finally agreed to give me a refund but it took a further month to actually receive it.
I know that their products are from other companies, but it's their responsibility to make things right for their customers. They really need to sort out their company - it's not fair that people end up out of pocket due to their mistakes. If they can't get their act together, they should be investigated!
Honestly, I would not recommend Groupon UK to anyone. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else.
Groupon Review: Terrible Customer Service and Shoddy Products - Don't Use Them Again
I was so excited to snag a deal on Groupon for an old Mac computer. It was listed as refurbished and for a great price of only ?180. I eagerly awaited its arrival, but when it finally came I was immediately disappointed. The computer was overheating and lacked practically any useful applications. I knew I had to return it right away.
After a couple of weeks, I still hadn't heard back about my return and my order on their website just said "closed". I was getting worried so I called Groupon's customer service. They told me they weren't sure what was going on and said they needed to contact CRS, their supplier.
To get my refund faster, I sent them the receipt from the special delivery I used to return the computer. On their website, it clearly stated that sending in evidence of the return would result in an immediate refund. But after waiting a few more days, I still hadn't heard back from them. It was frustrating because their website doesn't make it easy to find a contact email. I had to search around on different sites to find it.
When they finally responded, it was to tell me that I had to contact CRS myself and email them. I thought this was ridiculous because that's Groupon's whole job, being the middle man. They didn't provide any contact information for CRS, just a website. I've asked them repeatedly why they couldn't contact their own supplier and provide me with more information, but it's been a month and I still haven't heard anything.
Overall, my experience with Groupon has been terrible. The product I received was not as described, the website is difficult to navigate, and their customer service is lazy and unhelpful. Their replies are always vague and leave me with more questions than answers. It seems like Groupon doesn't want to make it easy to return items, which makes me wonder if they're breaking any laws. I wouldn't recommend using them again.

Disappointment with Groupon: Ignored During Grief
So, my husband got us a voucher to have a two nights stay in Cotswolds for Christmas and invited two of our friends to come along. But, his brother David got diagnosed with a brain tumour and started to have palliative care at home that required 24/7 care from his partner and us to assist her while giving respite care. It was such a tough time, and my husband was so distressed seeing his brother deteriorate right in front of his eyes. The Christmas and January passed us by, and unfortunately, David passed away on the 15th of February.
When we finally tried to book the hotel, we found out that the voucher expiry date was the 31st of January. My husband tried contacting Groupon twice to explain the situation. I even sent a copy of his death certificate to prove our case, but unfortunately, no one was willing to help or listen.
Losing David was a very emotional time for our family, and the coming months are going to be tricky without him. We're already dealing with so much, and to lose the £238 voucher in this way was a massive blow. We asked Groupon to reconsider the decision, but they just gave us a universal shrug and said there was nothing they could do. It was so frustrating and made us feel so overlooked and unheard.
After this experience, we've decided not to use Groupon again. Ever. I even left a bad review on Trust Pilot, hoping that someone would take notice and try to help us. They requested that I email them again, but the response was the same as the first time. It felt like they only responded to save face on the review page.
Overall, it's been a disappointing experience with Groupon. Their staff may have procedures to follow, but it would have been nice for them to show a bit more compassion and understanding towards our situation. It's a shame because we've used them in the past and had decent experiences, but this has left a bitter taste in our mouths.
Groupon UK Review: Oversold Coupons, Non-existent Customer Service, Unreliable Refunds
So, let me tell you about my experience with Groupon UK. I recently bought a deal for a two-night break in a pine lodge for up to six people - seemed like a great deal, right? But, the very next morning, I tried to redeem my voucher by calling the company. I rang four times and left two messages, but there was no response. Eventually, I got through at around 4 pm on the first day the coupon was to be redeemed, only to be told that they had no availability for the next four months - even though I said I would take any day and any month up to the middle of September (when my son goes to university). I was willing to be as flexible as possible, but it seemed like there was no solution.
As this was supposed to be a luxury treat for my son before he started university, it was really disappointing. So, I called Groupon straight away, but after being on hold for over 15 minutes, I was told that their computer had crashed and they would have to ring me back. Surprise, surprise - they never did. So, I tried emailing them the next day, but there was no reply. I tried again the day after that, but still no reply.
It took me four long days of trying to get in touch with someone before I finally got through to customer service. I was held in a queue for 18 minutes before finally being able to speak to a real human being. They eventually said they would refund my coupon as I was unable to use it, but it would take at least five working days to process the refund. I was really annoyed that they could take my money instantly, but it would take them a week to give it back to me.
The bottom line is that I feel like Groupon oversold their coupons out of sheer greed, without any regard for actual availability. Their customer service is virtually non-existent, and if you want a refund, be prepared to spend hours on the phone trying to get through to someone - all at your own expense. I would never trust Groupon again after this experience, and have now unsubscribed from their mailing list. If you're reading this and have any sense, I suggest you do the same.
Groupon UK: A Nightmare Experience with Deceitful Behaviour - KARCHER 4K Pressure Washer Reviewed
Wow, what a disappointing experience I had with Groupon UK! I recently purchased a KARCHER 4K pressure washer from them, enticed by the promise of a 36% discount compared to Argos. However, when the item arrived days later, I realized that it was actually a refurbished item, something that was not mentioned in the original advertisement. I even have screenshots to prove it!
To make matters worse, Groupon failed to provide a complete address, causing the shipment to fail. It turned out that they missed the first two lines of my address. I was quite shocked to see that they had added the word "refurbished" to the details in my order without informing me beforehand.
I tried to reach out to Groupon to address these issues, but they didn't seem to care. Despite my complaints, they did not even bother to respond to me. To add insult to injury, they offered me Groupon credit instead of a full refund. I immediately contacted PayPal to report a claim and instructed the courier to return the item to the sender.
Fortunately, PayPal were amazing and ultimately issued me a full refund, but I am extremely disappointed with Groupon and their deceitful, underhanded, and downright illegal behaviour. They offer no value and have no regard for their customers. I refuse to use them again and urge others to do the same. My overall experience with them was a complete and utter nightmare, and I would have given zero stars if it were possible.
Disappointing purchase experience with Groupon UK for Maddison sofa - poor quality and non-existent customer service
Recently, we decided to go ahead and treat ourselves to a Maddison sofa which we came across on Groupon UK's website. Unfortunately, we were met with a terrible experience throughout the purchase and delivery process. It was quite frustrating because no one seemed to be able to give us any information on delivery or even the actual company that was the supplier of the product. The Groupon customer service representatives we spoke to kept giving us the same tired response of "we are looking into it" and "we are concerned about the service." They introduced themselves as David, Nancy, and others, and provided reference numbers for phone calls. It seemed as though they were trained to make sympathetic noises and pretend that they know more than they actually do.
It has been three weeks since we made the purchase, and there has been no product delivery. We had paid a significant amount only to be left waiting without any idea as to when we could expect to receive our order. Finally, we received a phone call informing us that the sofa was on its way and would be delivered the next day after 12pm. We were ecstatic at the news and waited impatiently for the delivery. However, when the corner sofa finally arrived, we were met with a sub-contracted and miserable delivery driver who knew no more about the product than we did.
When we finally set our eyes on the sofa, we were immediately disappointed. The quality was poor and bore little resemblance to the photograph in the offer. While we had paid ?299 instead of ?699, we felt that it was not a bargain at all. The sofa was likely worth no more than ?199. To make matters worse, the cushions were missing, and the centre back cushion was mocked up and partly filled with pieces of foam covered in cheap fabric.
We cannot express enough how disappointed we are with the whole purchasing experience. We had looked forward to enjoying our new sofa, but instead, we are now forced to look for ways to cover up the cheap and ugly piece. We have decided to avoid using Groupon UK in the future as it seems their products are not worth the money paid for them. We still keep receiving emails from them telling us that they are investigating the delivery and that they will keep us informed as to when it will arrive. It is quite frustrating and annoying that they still try to appear concerned when their service has clearly been a scam. We are now working on unsubscribing from this scam merchants as soon as possible.
Unreliable delivery and poor customer service: My experience with Groupon UK
This company, Groupon UK, has not been a good experience for me. I normally don't write bad reviews, but I feel like I need to say something about this. First of all, the delivery is not guaranteed on the date that you pick, which is really frustrating. I didn't find out until after I made the purchase and then I even called to make sure I would receive my items on the date I wanted. The company told me that my name was on the list and that I would have my items on that date, but when the day came, nothing was delivered. I even left special instructions to leave the package around back, but they didn't follow them.
Then, the next day, I came home to find a "sorry we missed you" note in my mailbox and they wanted to charge me a fee to reschedule delivery. I was so upset because not only did they not deliver on the day I wanted, but they ignored my instructions too. When I called customer service, the person I spoke to had a really strong accent and I couldn't understand him very well. He also didn't give me a clear reason as to why I had to wait 7 days for my refund. I paid through PayPal and I should have received my refund on the same day.
I wish I had read the reviews before purchasing from this company. If you want a reliable company that delivers on the day they say they will and doesn't charge a fee for redelivery, then stay away from Groupon UK. I learned my lesson and won't be making the same mistake again.
Groupon Customer Service Fail: Hotel Booking Cancelled without Reason, No Urgency in Finding Solution, Useless Offer for Compensation
Yo Resolver,
So, check it, I got this Groupon thing goin' on, right? Booked this hotel for me and my momma on the 24th to 26th of March. But then, outta nowhere, they cancel on me while I was sleepin' or somethin'. Can you believe that? I hit 'em up by email and chat and they basically told me to wait around for a solution. Like, why wouldn't I just book again if they couldn't even give me a reason why the first one got cancelled? But then by the time they finally got back to me, the dates were all filled up. So I hit 'em up again and had to explain the situation to like three different people who clearly didn't read what was said before. They just kept tellin' me to book it again even though the dates weren't available. These dudes didn't understand the urgency of the situation at all.
I even tried emailin' 'em repeatedly yesterday to let them know how serious this was. But no dice. Their customer service was straight up clueless and didn't know a thing about their own promos. Every time I talked to 'em, they were just like, "Book it again, book it again." I must've asked, like, a million times how they were gonna make it right or help me out or something. And all I got was some lame offer for like 10% off, even though they were already running a 20% discount for Mother's Day. Are they kiddin' me with this?
Anyway, I called up the hotel (Clayton London Hotel), and the dude on the phone was like, "Yeah, Groupon's trash. They just want your money." But he also said they could work somethin' out if Groupon reached out to them, and that they'd cover the price difference. So, I contact Groupon again, right? And nobody knows nothin'. Like, really? They didn't even react to what the hotel guy said, just told me the same old thing about booking again. It's been days now and they ain't done a damn thing to solve the problem. I'm about to lose my damn mind.
Peace.
Unsecured Financial Information: My Experience With Groupon UK
So I had this problem with Groupon UK. You see, some sneaky person used my financial information that was stored in their system to buy something without my permission. Can you believe it? And I only found out because I got an email from them about it. But when I tried to log in to see what was going on, I couldn't because the hacker had changed my email address too. So I checked my bank account and saw two charges, one of which they refunded, so they knew something was up. But the other one? Nope, no refund yet.
I told them how serious this was, because they could have broken the UK Data Protection Act and failed to be PCI compliant. And you know what they did? Gave me excuses instead of giving me my money back. But this isn't just a problem for me. Google searches show that it's happening to loads of people. So don't think you're safe just because it hasn't happened to you, because it probably will.
I'm even thinking of suing Groupon UK, because this isn't right. And I'm going to tell Google and the credit card companies about it too. They need to know that Groupon UK isn't taking care of our information like they should. If they're going to store, process, or transmit credit or debit card information, they need to be PCI compliant. And even though I think they are, they still let someone use my credit card without my permission. That's a huge problem.
I mean, imagine if this happened to you. It's so stressful and unfair. And just think about how many other innocent people are going through the same thing. Groupon UK needs to get their act together and start protecting our financial information. So if you're thinking of buying something from them, be really careful. You might end up losing your hard-earned money to some random hacker.
Purchased over $400 worth of vouchers for upcoming vacation. When attempted to schedule reservations, system broken down. Now one week later after more than 30 emails requesting refunds, nothing!
