Hawaii Unified is such an unprofessional company! I mean, seriously, it was a complete hassle just to get a wall oven installed. First, they had to come and inspect the site, which took forever. Then, not once, but twice, the installers showed up without the necessary parts. Can you believe that? And to top it off, there was even a day when the installer didn't show up at all! Can you say unreliable?

But wait, it gets even better. After another site inspection, they had the audacity to requote me an extra $650! Can you imagine? I was already frustrated with the delays and now they wanted more money? It's like they were trying to squeeze every penny out of me.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, they managed to install the oven. But guess what? They had the nerve to demand payment before even doing the job! Who does that? It's like they don't trust their own work or something.

All in all, it took a whopping two months from the first appointment to the last for this whole ordeal. I can't even begin to express my disappointment. If I could give them zero stars, I would. But since that's not an option, they'll have to settle for just one star. And trust me, they don't deserve it.

We were interested in what Hawaii Unified could offer in solar. So the first few meetings we weren't sold on the system they were offering because of the cost. However, the salesman, who actually seemed very genuine to us, was persistent. So we told him that the most important thing we want is a system that would provide us with power should there be a blackout on the grid. He said "Absolutely," whenever there is enough backup power on our battery, we would have power to our home. He also said the system by Sunnova required no down payment, which is always a plus. It came with a 25-year warranty for all the panels, battery, and parts associated with the system. He went on to say that the system would be monitored by Sunnova and if "anything" went wrong, they would know about it and send a technician to fix it promptly. So this was in 2020, we got sold on the tax break he also said we would get and the savings we would see on our electric bill. Well, it took awhile before it got installed and activated after we signed up. It took more than six months. At first, the system seemed to be working perfectly. Then we had our first blackout and then another and another. We had a total of 5 blackouts which we reported to both Hawaii Unified and Sunnova about where the system did not switch over. On top of that, we started noticing that our electric bill wasn't what the salesman said it would be. In each and every case, there was sufficient stored battery power to use in the batteries. The response we got from Hawaii Unified after reaching out to them regarding all these issues was, "THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING." THE SYSTEM IS SUNNOVA. Bottom line, here's a classic tale of why they always say, if you buy solar, make sure the company sells and maintains their own system. Hawaii Unified just dropped the ball totally. So if they would like to call me and talk about this, the salesman has my number.
