I scheduled a service person from help heating and cooling to come out to my house to check my AC unit and he came in after supposedly checking it with a photo of where a fire had burnt the inside of the unit he lied about what was wrong in order to scare me into paying for a bigger job when I decided against it he left angrily I later called a different company for a second opinion and what they diagnosed was totally different and less money its a shame when you get people who will lie and prey on people to get a bigger paycheck just because they know that you don't know better
We filed a complaint and took this company to small claims court
We filed a complaint and took this company to small claims court. Unfortunately the courts also do not favor the consumer. It took four tries to get a a popup assembly and bathroom faucets installed correctly in our bathroom. Now less than a year later our 99 year warranty faucet does not work on the hot side. HELP refuses to service it, I am guessing because we took them to court.. Another example of them refusing to stand behind their promise of satisfaction. Their employees are polite and well dressed but that makes little difference when they cannot be trusted to do a good job and then refuse to service what they put in.
extremely professional and attentive, explains in detail everything he does, cleans up carefully after himself. It's a pleasure to have such a mechanic at home.
I had great ,same day service. They were professional and explained everything clearly to me. Could not be happier.
On time, professional, got the job done quickly and proficient.
Older houses are not perfectly consistent and standard
Older houses are not perfectly consistent and standard. So, people who work on them have to be knowledgeable about variations and quirks, flexible in their troubleshooting techniques and repairs, and able to handle the fact that things in real life probably won't follow "the book." 333-HELP's technicians who have worked on my home's utilities (HVAC, plumbing) have all understood the vagaries of older homes, have the skills to deal with their issues, and appear in many cases to enjoy solving any problems that arise. Ryan B. checked my furnaces (2 systems) yesterday to make sure they are ready for winter and did an excellent job.
Phil did a great job replacing my kitchen sink faucet. Very knowledgeable of the product (faucet) he was installing.
Mr. Josh H is an exemplary HELP serviceman. He clearly answered my questions, performed and completed his tasks in a timely manner. I am pleased.
They were fast and efficient installed water heater same day
We are beyond thrilled with the service we received from HELP
We are beyond thrilled with the service we received from HELP. Alex did an outstanding job with our estimate. Tyler and Darren were Rockstars on the install. They were professional, patient and helpful. They worked tirelessly in the heat and humidity to make sure we had AC. They went above and beyond to make sure our ceiling was not damaged (they could have easily cut it up, which is what we thought was going to happen) which saved us on costly drywall repairs. They explained everything they were doing and there were no surprises or hidden costs. They even cleaned up...it was like they were never there except we had a much much cooler house. Thanks so much!
Matt was awesome. He was knowledgeable and professional. I would recommend him and request him for future visit.
Ryan was knowledgeable about each device and component I needed looked at. Not only that I could easily tell his knowledge was being passed on and absorbed by the young man who was working with him. I am confident that if Help sends someone out, I will be taken care of.
We have used Help for a number of services and they are consistently professional, knowledgeable, kind and do a great job! We love their membership benefits and have used the annual service checkups to keep our house in running order.
Great experience, technician explained the work that needed to be done and completed the work efficiently.

From the moment I spoke with a HELP customer service rep to schedule my appointment, through the service performed by Seth, the HELP technician
From the moment I spoke with a HELP customer service rep to schedule my appointment, through the service performed by Seth, the HELP technician who performed the necessary work to our master bath, I was impressed with the level of professionalism demonstrated by members of the HELP team. Seth was very knowledgeable and did a great job explaining the reason for our plumbing issue. After the work was completed I noticed that Seth left our bathroom as clean as when he started the job. I am very impressed by the level of professionalism demonstrated and impressed by the quality of work performed by Seth, our HELP technician. I will definitely use HELP again in the future to address our plumbing needs and recommend this company to anyone in need of plumbing expertise!
I contacted HELP for my elderly father due to their ads, but their service for his furnace was poor.
I contacted HELP for my elderly father, a Korean War veteran, because of their ads, but their service for his leaking furnace was poor. They were late and proposed an expensive fix. I had to take time off work for a rescheduled appointment they didn't inform me about. Eventually, I refused their service. Thankfully, another company fixed the issue promptly for a reasonable price, revealing it was just loose screws.
I called HELP to auger a main drain
I called HELP to auger a main drain. $97.00 was the quote. Upon arriving the tech could not open the screw cap to the main drain clean out. He referred to his laptop and said that to open the screw cap on the clean out the new total would be $275.37 total. That is $178.37 to open a cap! Since he already had his gear there, and the drain was still clogged, I felt I had to say go ahead. It took him 5 minutes to remove the cap. 5 minutes. $178.37. I have to admit that he told me the price ahead of time so I did know, but come on! I felt like the old bait and switch. Get to my home with a reasonable price and then find something else to really stick it to me. Oh well live and learn. I will not every use this company again. I just wanted to let people know my experience with this company so that you all can make an informed decision. The tech was very nice and professional. He almost seemed embarrassed to tell me what removing that cap would cost. Sure felt like price gouging to me. 5 minutes folks... It took him longer to walk to the truck to get a Saw-all than it did to cut the cap off. That $97.00 clean-out turned into $275.37
We recently had HELP electrician Brandon Jasper install ceiling fans in 2 of our bedrooms
We recently had HELP electrician Brandon Jasper install ceiling fans in 2 of our bedrooms. Because there was no existing overhead wiring in the 10 foot ceilings and the rooms had outlets that were already switch-controlled, there was a lot to do. We could not be happier with the work Brandon did. He was knowledgeable, professional, explained things well, worked hard and was respectful of our home. We also want to commend HELP's Brian Haverland who specializes in HVAC issues. He did the seasonal inspection on our cooling system, which is included as a part of our HELP Club Membership. Brian is a personable, knowledgeable professional who came to our home sooner than we had been scheduled for this service because a HELP plumber colleague of his called for him to check out a noise we had been hearing that we thought was coming from our water heater. We are especially impressed by the way the HELP team works together to make sure that a problem gets solved. It turns out that the water heater was fine and the noise was a normal function of a part of our AC system that is housed above our ceiling. It has been our experience that HELP employs skilled professionals that really do want to "help" their customers.
When you hire HELP to unclog your sink but they leave causing a larger and much more expensive issue, don't expect them to live by their name
When you hire HELP to unclog your sink but they leave causing a larger and much more expensive issue, don't expect them to live by their name. We had a plumber come out to unclog our sink, they snaked over 30 feet down the drain and then couldn't get their snake back out. Their snake machine wasn't powerful enough to get the snake out, so they attached it to a drill because it was more powerful, which got the snake out, but the force of the drill either separated the pipes or made a hole in the pipes because water now pours down into our kitchen directly underneath where they were working. We never before had issues with leaking. It's not a coincidence, they did this. When we called to ask them if they would cover the damage, they said no. We then asked if they would at least help us by sending someone out to scope it so we could see exactly where the damage was, they said it was impossible to get a camera in there with the way the pipes are. (It isn't impossible, we've already had other plumbers come and scope it out and fix the problem, which they agree was the product of HELP's mistake.) This is so disappointing and completely not worth it. We'd rather have the sink still clogged than this issue because this has now cost us so much more money. We won't be recommending HELP.
Horrible experience, I first used them on 10/05 and the did the work stated
Horrible experience, I first used them on 10/05 and the did the work stated. They explained how i could sign up to be a Club member and would get discounts and first priority on service. I signed up and asked for a hard copy for my file of the Club membership showing benefits... never got it. Two months later i called again for a plumbing issue and scheduled an appointment on 10/15. They called the night before stating they couldnt make it but would come the very next day, I said ok. Guy shows up, scopes my sewer line and finds the clogs and tells me a price. I said ok and then he states he wont be doing the work but has to schedule a crew THEN he wants me to pay the discounted service call of $59. AND a scoping fee of $70. I asked him if these would be taken off the total cost of the job he said only the service fee would be. Then he said if i paid the total job cost now he would waive the scoping fee... I said "What" how does that make sense to pay for a service before its done and i dont even know when they are coming. He told me that does sound SHADY and i agree. They STILL double billed me for $59. SHADY is CORRECT, and i still havent received a contract. I called and terminated any business with them. I would strongly look at doing business with them if i were you also get a second estimate form another business, i could have saved $1000. ! if i had. Oh yeah.. they Left my home DIRTIER than when they came and i have photos to sustain this.
Were experiencing problems with a newly installed Thermostat and HELP heating/Cooling sent tech *** to resolve the issues
Were experiencing problems with a newly installed Thermostat and HELP heating/Cooling sent tech *** to resolve the issues. Problem 1) The thermostat was displaying totally incorrect temperature and was using those temperature readings to turn on and off the A/C unit. AJ diagnosed the problem was caused by air leaking through a hole behind the thermostat used to connect wires to the thermostat.. He removed the thermostat, plugged the hole and the thermostat started showing correct temperature. If the installation crew had tested the thermostat installation, this problem could have been diagnosed and corrected without the need for a second trip by a tech. A detailed check-list of what needs to be done and tested by the installation crew would be a great help to the crew and to the customer.Problem 2: More complicated. The thermostat was turning on and off the A/C unit in very short cycles which could potentially wear out the unit and also could increase the energy cost. He patiently worked to diagnose the issue, called the Lennox tech support and talked to 3 different technicians to resolve this issue. In the first two calls he did not get the correct information but he persisted and did not give up. Finally the 3rd call proved to be lucky. On the basis of the discussion, he resolved the issue. He told us that he learned something new today ! We salute his persistence in getting to the bottom of the issue and doggedly worked to solve it. We fervently hope that HELP hires such good quality, details oriented tech support persons !
May - June , cool then warm then cool then sweltering - and that was outside!
May - June , cool then warm then cool then sweltering - and that was outside! Inside our furnace worked fine for the cool days but the AC didn't mitigate the stale steamy inside climate. As Help club members, we were entitled to a 'free' start of season inspection & maintenance - clean the coils, check the freon charge, exchange the air filter...well, we did get the filter changed and the bulk of the dirt washed out of our condensing coils outside. But we absolutely had no freon in our system, there was a leak at the liquid side of the compressor! A hole with light oil stains around it. So we had a HELP member come out during their 'swamped period' of the first week of hot weather. The young guy looked at it and said "Your coils are dirty, your pressures are zero (no refrigerant charge) and you have likely taken years off your compressor. It will be a few days before we can get someone out to replace your system". To which I said inside my head "Whoa there buckaroo", and instead said "we had difficulty with a 9 yo OEM TXV and rusting Expansion (evaporative) coil - the insides are practically new (2018-19) and we had some charge last summer - lets check for a leak and see if we can find a simple fix". There was a positive off the scale leak signal from the "sniffer" and instead of scheduling a new installation, I was scheduled for an attempted repair (pressure test, repair, vacuum, recharge, monitor & pack up) or for an evaluation for new unit installation. My (Our) luck held out when Deon T came out. He spoke authoritatively about what he could possibly do, how he was going to attempt it, and made no promises. I let him know that in my youth my "Pop" would gather junked components and rebuild systems for fun - and light profit. I knew about brazing, recharging a system, running nitrogen with a dye to find leaks, etc., So Deon began to talk straight with me and said "we either get answers or we get it running - if only answers you will need to make a decision about what and who you want to install a new system" and he tackled the job - shoe covers on, mask on, and gloved. Deon found the leak (he couldn't find the 'diagnostic report' from the last week of May on the system) and he essentially re-checked everything the diagnostic visit checked. Then he went to pressurize the system with nitrogen - is nitrogen tank only took it to 50 psi or so. So he started checking everything in the truck he was driving (given to drive) and found no vacuum pump with which to vacuum the lines before recharging. Off to borrow a pump from another technician! To which you ask "Is this ever going to end?" Yes. Deon secured everything that should have been in the truck, he brazed the gaping hole (in AC terms, that is slightly larger than a pin-hole) at the compressor, he vacuumed, then charged the lines, and he sat in the mud (it had rained during this time) around the condensing coil and the system held its charge. I was considering leaving HELP's club - it is nearly 20 bucks a month - because since the TXV failed in 2018, we've been having issues with our AC. Not all HELP's responsibility, but it was a question of maintenance fatigue. We had a 'system check' at the start of the season when it was 62 degrees outside and 'everything was fine'. After the first warm weekend - it was clear "Everthing was NOT fine" and we scheduled the diagnostic. I got a '200 hour wonder tech' who checked the system and found no refrigerant, at my urging he took his sniffer and found the likely leak site. I began to wonder if HELP only hired young, enthusiastic, newbies with 200+ hours of training white boys (I am a white male) who could sell and maintain equipment, and out came Deon. He isn't in his twenties, he isn't a 200+ hour wonder, and he wasn't going to sell me a new system when the guts of my current system were still decent. He was patient when I was around asking questions and he did everything my "Pop" would have done - with a much better attitude than my Pop would have had in the heat post afternoon rain-shower. My house is cool again, and I am re-committed to HELP's club care. I thought there was no diversity within the system - but Deon who is a qualified, competent, and personable face to the HELP team proves that HELP hires quality no matter what race or skin color. It was my pleasure to have Deon service the HVAC unit today, thanks HELP!

They came out for warrenty work and the technician didn't reconnect a pipe
They came out for warrenty work and the technician didn't reconnect a pipe. My floors and carpets got wet. They were wet for 5-6 days. The technician told me it was hit fault. They didn't immediately offer to resolve and when I asked about making it right they said they would take pictures and review it and I would get a call the next day. That was the 29th. I called on the 23rd and they said the person was at lunch and they would call me. I never got a call. I called on the 26th at 9:52am and they said they would talk to the person and call me back right away. I called at 10:21am and was told that person was busy and they would make it known I wanted a call today. I have no faith I will get a call or resolution

I have been with the company for years for various plumbing issues
I have been with the company for years for various plumbing issues. The main service that they have provided is a "Snaking" of my main drain. They have performed this numerous times with great results and is aware of the issue that makes this an ongoing issue. Fast forward to Dec. 31st when Bethany from HELP came to perform the Snaking of the drain amongst other duties, T Bethany was very professional and thorough with explaining an extra task needed to get to the root of the problem. She scheduled a scoping for our drain which was paid for in advance along with the other services rendered at that time. When the Gentleman Phil came out to scope, he admitted that he could not see through the roots (that should have been snaked out) and suggested a Jetting to remove all roots to see where the break is allowing the roots to enter, hence causing this ongoing problem.

I have been paying VIP for 17 years they come out twice a year
I have been paying VIP for 17 years they come out twice a year. My furnace is 14 years old Help install it. I replaced my inducer motor 4 years ago through HELP. Now they are saying I need another inducer motor when they came out last week. So I called and ask if someone else could come out and check it again because I could not understand how the are coming to clean my unit but I need another inducer motor. So they came out again three days later and said I needed a motor blower, heat exchanger, and an inducer motor. I went down to look at my furnace while they had it apart and I could see that the filter that surrounds the motor blower was really dirty and had not been cleaned. I asked the serviceman can this contribute to the problems I had and he said it was a possibility. How are they cleaning the furnace and they skipped the filter around the motor blower? I feel that they have been taking my money every month and not doing the services I was paying for. The manager was rude and mean, I discontinued my VIP. What can I do?

We have called numerous times and tried to contact HELP though chat on their website regarding provided "services" and requesting a refund for the services. We are highly dissatisfied with provided services which we paid $397 for. First technician replaced fuses, the temperature in the house did not go down as he said, so we called again to get a second opinion as technician advised. First technician told us that the unit was overcharged, but the second one told us it needed to be fully charged (lie). The second technician turned off our AC completely and told my wife it has to be off or furnace will break (lie). And he told my wife there were leaks(lie). He wanted to charge my wife over $1000 on top of the first charge and offered to install a new unit at $5844 for a 1500 sq f house. My wife was upset and stressed. We have called a few other AC companies after HELP technicians left and all of them told us it was OK to run the AC, told us there were NO leaks. We had another company giving us estimate to install a brand new unit for $3100 and a few other companies for about the same price. Due to everything, we would like to request a full refund for HELP services. Thank you, ***ard ***. P.S. I have called numerous times and was told technician manager would call me back. left a few messages. no-one called me back.

I have been a HELP club member since December and I am paying $19.95 per month for their service
I have been a HELP club member since December and I am paying $19.95 per month for their service. On Monday, July 20 I contacted them to schedule a plumber to fix a faulty bathroom sink faucet. I was told that a repairman would come on Thursday July 23 between 10:00 and 12:00. When no one showed up I called the office at 1:00 and was told that the repairman called my phone number shortly after 10:00am and since no one answered I was taken off of his schedule. I explained to the person on the phone that I did not receive a phone call, I have no voice mail message and no "recent" phone call from the repairman on my cell phone. I asked to be rescheduled even though I had already changed my schedule to be home on July 23rd, and was told that I would need to wait a week for the next repairman. The woman who answered the phone was belligerent and kept insisting that there is a record of the a repairman calling my cell phone and she told me to "check my voicemail honey"! I repeat I DID NOT RECEIVE A PHONE CALL FROM THE REPAIRMAN and should have not been taken off of his service list for July 23rd. I also feel that I should not have to wait another week to be rescheduled for this service since I am a club member and would be charged $60 for a service fee plus the cost of any materials needed for the repair. I had to call another plumbing business to schedule the repair within a reasonable time and they do not charge for a service fee.

To Whom It May Concern: My name is Jane Doe, on October 15, I detected a gas leak in my basement.
To Whom It May Concern: My name is Jane Doe, on October 15, I detected a gas leak in my basement and informed a friend who advised me to contact the local utility company. They responded by shutting off the gas and issuing a warning that service was necessary. Subsequently, I reached out to HELP heating and cooling, with whom I hold a service agreement. Their inspection revealed three punctures in the gas line. Inquiring about the repair cost and payment options, I was told the office manager would need to confirm the details. The repair was quoted at $2030, and my son and brother agreed to help with the costs. After consenting to the repairs, I was informed they were complete, so I requested the utility company to restore service and remove the warning. However, they discovered the repairs were incomplete with additional punctures found. HELP was contacted again, but they stated further repairs would incur extra charges, contrary to our initial agreement. As an 80-year-old woman without heating, I sought advice from the council on aging, which led me to appeal to the ComplaintsBoard.com for help. I am without alternative means to resolve this heating issue. The ComplaintsBoard.com is my last resort. Please reach out to me through the email provided by my assistant. Your prompt response is greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Jane Doe from Cincinnati, Ohio.

I called help to come out and fix our upstairs sink because it was not draining properly
I called help to come out and fix our upstairs sink because it was not draining properly. Their ad said $99 to clear out any drain. There were 2 younger men that came out and clearly did not know what they were doing. The first issue was they stated they could not get their snake to go through the pipe to clear out the drain and they were using a basic snake not a motorized snake. Once they said they could not get the snake through the pipe they said they would have to remove the sink and pedestal to try and fix the drainage issue. I told them ok as long as they can place it back after they had the clog cleared. They tried again and still no luck getting the snake to the clog. They the said they would have to open up the pipe using a hammer and screwdriver to get to a blockage in the pipe. They said after this process they should be able to get to the clog with the snake. I told them ok. After I heard them hammering on the pipe for about 20 min they then said they noticed a leak of the cold water faucet. While doing this they still could not get to the clog and said they would have to go through the tile to access the pipe. They said they would have to repair that as well. After getting the snake through the pipe they said they could not fix the cold water fixing without going through the tile where the sink was attached. The walls in the bathroom are tile. They also stated while replacing the cold water line they noticed the hot water line was just as worn out and decided to take it upon themselves to replace that as well without permission. Long story short a $99 visit turned into a $950 bill. I took video and pictures of the torn out tile. They did not use a tile cutter they used a hammer! Not acceptable. I emailed them immediately after the work was done because the tile in out house is the original tile and can't be replaced and the color is not able to be found. The contact I was given is ***. when I email him the pictures he said he would get with the master plumber I told him they would have to reimburse for the fixing of the tiles and he said they would see what they could do but they probably would not reimburse since they "fixed the drain issue".

I have used Help for heating and a/c tune ups since I moved here 3 years ago
I have used Help for heating and a/c tune ups since I moved here 3 years ago. They have always been respectful and asked permission to put a sign in my yard when done. Up till now the only complaint I have is the continual pushy up selling at the end of tune up. While easy to say no to, very annoying. This changed during this years a/c tune up. I was asked about the yard sign which I gave my permission to display. The technician was polite and set to work. When he finished I was told I had a coolant leak and needed to have dye test and coolant added. I was then informed that the capacitor was not within in normal parameters and needed to be replaced, sooner than later. The cost for all three things was around $800.00. I told the tech, since I was living on very limited disability income, I needed to get a second opinion before spending that much money. He looked horrified which made me uncomfortable. Since the tech had left me very concerned that further use of a/c could cause major damage to the unit, turned the unit off. Of course, the weather became hotter and more humid. Not pleasant but too worried about the a/c to turn it back on. It soon became apparent that the humidity was aggravating my health issues, I had to turn it back on. Fortunately, it was only a couple of days before I received the second opinion. The technician from the new company agreed with the readings but recommended course of action was vastly different. The first thing he noticed was one of the caps on the coolant ports (not sure of the exact term) was on loosely and the other was damaged from being opened with pliers or a wrench. He said that could have caused the level of coolant loss noted on my system. He filled the coolant up and change the caps for Free. Since HELP has been the only one working on the a/c I wonder why one cap loose and the other damaged. As for the capacitor, he said is was a hair off and would need to be replaced in the next year or two. Not to worry and us my a/c as much as I wanted. He also checked the air flow and said it was within acceptable range. While thankful I was not facing a huge repair bill, I was confused. How do two companies come up with two vastly different care plans for my a/c. Also, while HELP is very polite and asked about putting a sign in the yard, they felt it okay to deface my property with their stickers (furnace, hot water heater and the cover of the outdoor a/c kill switch). I did reach out to HELP left a detailed message with office. They assured me I would receive a follow up call. However, it is a week later and no response. Very disappointing. I would hate to think they were trying to take advantage of a disabled, middle aged single woman.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
