My name is Carl H and I am a very satisfied customer of "JDI Handyman Services". I normally do not write letters or fill out surveys about the services I receive from businesses. However, my experience was so monumental that I must write and let everyone know about the service I received from JDI Handyman Services and especially Mr. A. I am giving them a five-star rating! Please allow me to explain.
Mr. A is very professional, knowledgeable, astute in his craft and has the right personality to deal with people. The work to be accomplished in my home was to install 88 wrought iron balusters in three staircases. Once Mr. A was in my home, I showed him around to see the staircases. Due to his knowledge and expertise, he immediately walked me through the whole process. He explained to me how the old wooden spindles were going to be removed and then how the new wrought iron balusters would be installed. When he set up shop in my garage and began to work, it gave me the impression that he was a master carpenter. Having all the possession of the requisite skills, training, and experience to perform the work I wanted to be completed in my home. Trust me, it took a load of worry off me, and I was glad I did not have to fret about the task at hand.
After the work was completed my wife and I are so happy with the craftsmanship of what Mr. A has completed in our home's staircases. It looks fantastic and I know it has increased the value of our home. Based upon how we were treated by JDI Handyman Services and Mr. A, we will tell all my family, friends, co-workers at Wright Patterson Air Force Base and Church family. I will tell them of the excellent customer service in setting up the appointment and the expert craftsmanship we received from Mr. A.
Mr. A's professional master carpentry skills coupled with his desire to produce quality work is above reproach. Mr. A is a great credit to himself and "JDI Handyman Services". Thanks for giving me a platform to voice my gratitude and appreciation. God bless!

I was very pleased with the work JDI Handyman's Services completed in my home. They were on time, professional, and cleaned up after the job was done.
Yesterday Ryan installed the vinyl plank flooring in my master bath. He was courteous , prompt and skillful. I am thrilled with the flooring and with the work he did. This was the first time I used JDI but it will not be the last. MY husband has done all these things in our home for 55 years, but it is now time that we get help. JDI will be called again. Thanks for a job well done.
We had a flood in the kitchen and part of our dinning area. We needed a small part of flooring put down which I still had a box of flooring. I called JB and told them I had the flooring but not the stuff to put under it they said they would do it for $79 an hour and material cost. They ended up saying they had to go back to this store and get the underlining for the floating floor and they ended up putting carpet padding underneath. When A couple people said the flooring was not right and I texted him he said I was being rude they said they would come back and charge me for material and then give me a half-price discount was the resolution I told them no already paid $150 some words were exchanged and the owner of the company said that he would not F had an old lady like me ever when I wasn't even talking to him he was talking to my sister she was telling him also that she heard several people say how bad job was and they shouldn't use carpet padding he stated that they did that all time

I needed to have my entryway door doorknob repaired. I was fortunate to get on their schedule that day. The repair was performed quickly and the repairman was professional and courteous. I plan to have them do more extensive home repairs done in the future.
The Owner refused to fix my door unless I take down my negative comment about waiting weeks to get my door issue resolved. Because the date they picked I work for a living wasn't accommodating to them I have to wait 5 plus more weeks. When my entry toor handle keeps falling off. And I Have to walk to the back of my house at 11at night because I can't get in. A safety concern. Then he tells me he doesn't have to fix it. I paid almost 500 for Installation in December. Had to wait 3 plus more than later and then get my product and the door handle keeps coming off. I'm suppose to do what. Speak my truth.
I was very happy with this company, from the receptionist, measurement, and installation crew. I had an attic ladder installed and they did a terrific job, very professional. The ladder looks and works like a dream. They were very mindful about cleaning up the mess and very helpful about removing the old ladder. I will use this company again for my next project.

The office "says" they tried to confirm with me the day before, and wasn't successful, therefore I will need to reschedule. My appointment was reschedule, May 18th between 12 - 5 p.m. I called yesterday to confirm and requested a call before arrival. Around 2:26, I just happened to check my email and saw a message from JDI (2:06 p.m.), informing me they had been trying to contact me as requested. I called the office, and to NO surprise, he had already went to another job site, therefore, I would need to reschedule again. Clearly, the company did not want the job, and I strongly believe it's due to my location (west side of town near UD). I don't appreciate my time being taken for granted. I will NOT EVER contact this company again in LIFE! . RC

I had to think about for a minute before I could decide why he'd made such an impression. Yes, he was prompt, skilled, knowledgeable, likable, and he and his staff are all perfectly professional. It was something more...I realized that what had left me with such a good feeling was that John treated me as if he was earning my business, and that it was important and needed, as if he was just starting out, even though it's very clear that he has all the business he can handle and can afford to to be choosey. The only part I wish was different is that I'd have met him sooner.

A liar, unprofessional and mean spirited person. The owner doesn't have a sense of customer service. see below the way he handled my simple comment on google: My comment: "we made appointment to come and give us a quote but he never showed up". His Reply to that: "Sheela P This absolutely not true. We showed up, knocked and rang your door bell, you never answered. YOUR HUSBAND called us to tell us he forgot to tell you we were coming and that you would not answer your door. How dare you leave a lie for a review" (he gave out my cell phone number, my home address and my full name in google, which i took off here because ComplaintsBoard.com don't let people to publish the personal info). My response to his lie: "Yes, the first time when you came I was in the bathroom and couldn't answer. Usually when people give a window of time, like you did anywhere from 12 to 5, they call ahead before coming over, but you didn't, and you expect people to wait from 12 to 5 sitting at the door? if you had called ahead i would have been waiting for you! Yes my husband called and apologized and made another appointment with your secretary or whoever, for Thursday 5th august, again anywhere from 12 to 5. So this time my husband took off from work and came, but you NEVER showed up. And you are accusing me of lying? how dare you? you have no integrity or sense of customer service.

On 10/6, JDI Handyman services contracted to complete the job
On 10/6, JDI Handyman services contracted to complete the job. However, they did not return to complete the job even though I paid half of the amount. They also did not return to complete the repairs and meet with me to review the damage and repairs needed on my property. I met with the owner of JDI, Jon Y, at my house. Mr. Y agreed to repair all the siding on the left side of the house, fix the damaged walls and holes, and paint each wall. He also agreed to remove two storm windows and replace them with new ones. He advised me to sign a construction contract for JDI Handyman services to address the repair and replacement of the damaged property.
JDI requested half of the final amount upfront before starting the job. I paid JDI a check for $1,737.50 on 7/29. They scheduled the first appointment to begin the work. The repairmen initially arrived and removed the siding on the left side of my home. They proceeded to repair the holes in the walls but eventually painted the walls with the wrong color paint. When I brought this to their attention, they agreed to correct their mistake when they returned to finish the job by installing the new storm windows. While they were completing the first portion of the job, they measured the windows and frame for the new storm windows. JDI then informed me that the job repairs would be complete when they returned with the windows, and the other half of the repair cost would be due at that time, as documented on the signed contract.
Later on, I noticed that the JDI repairmen had put some old siding back on the house along with the new siding. On 10/6, the repairmen arrived to install and repair all the items listed on the contract. However, there was a different repairman who informed me that the windows they brought would not fit my windows. He explained that the previous repairmen had measured incorrectly but assured me that he could make the windows fit by cutting into the frame of my house and building window frames. I firmly told him that I would not allow him to cut into the structure of my home due to their negligence in measuring the windows. I requested to speak to the owner, Mr. Y, to schedule a time for the windows to be measured correctly and installed properly. However, Mr. Y refused to speak to me on the phone, so I spoke with the office manager and reiterated that I would not allow the repairmen to damage my window frame due to their negligence. The office manager then instructed the repairmen to leave. I requested that Mr. Y call me back to resolve the issue, but they never called me back. I believe this is blatant disrespect, possibly due to the fact that I am an African American senior citizen.
A couple of days later, I received a message from my insurance agent informing me that JDI had contacted my insurance company without my legal authorization. I had never involved JDI in any communication with my insurance company as I was handling the repairs on my own. JDI breached my confidentiality by disclosing my business with their organization. I had not authorized either business representative to communicate with each other. I made my agent aware of this breach of information, as she even acknowledged the conversation about my insurance information.
On 10/23, I received a certified letter from JDI stating that they had placed a mechanical lien on my property. The letter also mentioned that JDI was filing to foreclose on my property. This is a horrific situation as they did not bother to contact me to make repairs or resolve the issue, but instead contacted my insurance company without my authorization.
