This company is telling multiple people, myself included, that they can void our warranty if we have another certified HVAC technician service
This company is telling multiple people, myself included, that they can void our warranty if we have another certified HVAC technician service our unit. Our AC went out and they told us it would take 8 days to fix obviously in the middle of July in *** that is not acceptable. We told them we would have another company fix it to which they said that would void our warranty on our unit. This is illegal and unacceptable. If you look through Yelp reviews I am not the only victim to this immoral and illegal practice.

I had my home built 2 years ago, and my home builder had Roberts install our AC unit
I had my home built 2 years ago, and my home builder had Roberts install our AC unit. Today the AC went out, and I contacted them to schedule a repair, as we have a parts warranty with them. They offered a service date range of several months out, which is unreasonable. In Arizona's 115-degree weather, a three-month wait is unacceptable. It seems they're avoiding the parts warranty. Now we must hire a different AC service and pay for both parts and labor.
After four years of frustration with the quality of service and customer concerns dealing with the constant breakdown of a Carrier A/C unit and with the headquarters of Chas Roberts A/C and Plumbing, I finally received top notch service and a customer concerned response from a Service Supervisor named Joshua from the Chas Roberts Queen Creek location. If you are ever in need of a quality customer service experience regarding the service of your air conditioning system, call the Queen Creek Chas Roberts A/C office
I had my home built 2 years ago, and my home builder had Roberts Heating & Cooling install our air conditioning unit. Today the AC stopped working, and I gave them a call to schedule an appointment, as we have parts coverage through them, though not for labor. They gave me an estimated date range of several months out before we could get anyone out here. Three months, in 115-degree weather in Arizona, is simply not acceptable. I feel like they just didn't want to have to pay for parts to fix it. We now have to find another AC company and pay them for both parts and labor, even though we have a parts warranty through Roberts Heating & Cooling.
Simply put, do not buy an AC unit from this company!
Simply put, do not buy an AC unit from this company! Moved into a brand new *** community who unfortunately used *** for its AC units. *** failed in year one AND in year two! When it failed a second time, was told it passed the two year warranty and we were out of luck. Two years for a brand new AC unit in a brand new community is pathetic. Make sure you check the warranty before buying an AC unit. Adding insult to injury, when I called for service, was told I had to wait 4 days! Luckily I found a solid and reliable provider who came the same day!

I am extremely displeased with the lack of service. I had an appt scheduled on 4/28 from 12-4. I was told the tech would be late. 3 hours later and a tech still had not arrived. I waited over 1 month to get an appointment and now we have to wait another month when it was not our fault. There is a lack of accountability and I am very unhappy with the company and how they dealt with their problem at our expense.
Purchased a new home and Chas Roberts was HVAC company. Upon annual inspection we were told that the home had multiple zones that were not programed into HVAC. We were also told that HVAC unit had exposed wires that would eventually wear and rust because they were exposed and not insulated properly. Called Chas Roberts to schedule warranty work through our builder. Roberts would schedule appointments in the middle of the day that my wife and I would have to take off work for and would eventually cancel and reschedule. On the third time time Chas Roberts was scheduled to be at house between 11 and 2 on Friday. At 2:00 a girl called and said they were running a bit late but would be there and would offer a 30 min service call prior to coming.I called back at 6:00 and was told that we were still on the schedule. Received a call at 9:30pm and told we were still on the schedule. I called back at 12:00 am and 2:00 am and left a message but no service call. Chas Roberts put in all the AC in our community and this same scenario is happening to virtually everyone we talk to. This conduct is Chas Roberts norm not the exception.
Paid $19K for new AC systems and have a problem that needs to be resolved. Waited a week for a service/warranty visit and they no-showed. Rescheduled me back to the end of the line which is 6 weeks out. Asked for a manager and basically given the runaround about speaking with someone. Terrible service, but they have the money.
our AC went out
our AC went out. Chas made it out the next day. we had a couple of hiccups along the way and i did have to call in and check on our parts. we didn't have AC for 4 days. however, in the end they made everything right. especially the extended warranty misunderstanding. they went above and beyond. the techs were working a lot of OT and were tired and hot. stuff happens, especially when things are busy. these type of things happen everywhere. mechanics, restaurants, grocery stores, etc. especially during the covid 19 stuff. thank you Chas team for getting our AC fixed. I've used you guys for 29 years!

Dealing with Chas Roberts has been infuriating. Beware: on a new build, there is no standard warranty on the installation of your HVAC from Chas Roberts, despite what their website implies. The manufacturer of the unit will probably have a warranty on the physical parts, but this company cuts corners and will more than likely screw up the install of your unit as mentioned in other reviews. When (not if) your ac unit has problems within the first year, the 1 year home builder warranty will pay them to "fix" the issue. This is when they will put band-aids on the issues until the 1 year homebuilder warranty expires. Once this happens, your unit will fail again catastrophically due to the incompetent install, only this time the labor is not covered by anyone, and you will find they will charge absurdly high labor/material rates (Close to 2x labor cost of legitimate licensed HVAC professionals in our case. They claim Freon accounts for most of the couple thousand in materials/labor, when in reality it would cost about $140). They will simultaneously try to pressure you into a maintenance contract for an extra fee at this point so this won't happen again(it will and this won't help). When we've contacted them about the problems they caused, they are argumentative and belittle us for not being an HVAC professional ourselves. I brought up the opinion of a trusted outside licensed HVAC professional who looked at our system, and he says they couldn't possibly know anything because they don't do new home installs for 85% of the valley, so they don't know what they are talking about. If you have similar issues you can file a formal complaint with the Arizona Registrar of Contractors, which I will be doing because they are refusing to stand by their workmanship.
I just had Brick to my home to fix a problem that three past reps from Chas Roberts couldn't or wouldn't fix. Brick was courteous, knowledgeable, and knew immediately how to fix the problem. His fix was done and he was gone in 90 minutes. Thank you Brick
I called this morning to request an air-conditioning maintenance appointment and within an hour a technician was at the house
I called this morning to request an air-conditioning maintenance appointment and within an hour a technician was at the house. Thomas did a very thorough job and explained exactly what he was doing every step of the way. He was thoughtful and considerate and wore a mask the entire time. I was so impressed that we signed up for maintenance agreement which will cover 2 visits per year. I have called the company directly and I spoke with Liz who was happy to get positive feedback. This has been a such a positive experience that I wanted to pass along the details. With grateful thanks to have found such a professional company. Even the invoice was handled on the spot by texting so I still have the check in hand to keep for my records.

Our home ** unit quit last night
Our home *** unit quit last night. I called *** Roberts to schedule an appt to have a tech come out and see what the issue was. Our *** unit is almost 9 years old. *** Roberts installed the unit along with all the other homes in our development. *** Roberts has serviced our *** a few times in the past. I took it since we are repeat customers, there would not be a problem getting someone out to our house today to have the *** repaired. When I called them early this morning, the telephone operator said they are really busy now and could put us on their schedule for a *** WEEKS. I said what? After arguing for appr 15 minutes and still no appt. I told them I will be going elsewhere. I was able to schedule a same day appt with ***. SHAME ON *** ROBERTS FOR *** SERVICE. We live in AZ and cannot live w/o . 110 degrees today.

his company installed on my new build
his company installed on my new build. Two systems that have not worked since day one of closing. Warranty attempts to send them out. They over book their techs. They did not show up on time. Had a morning appt, was pushed back twice. Tech called to say he would not be there til 10pm. I was rescheduled with Tracy in the call center for an appt the next day. I called the next day, and she said she never spoke to me about rescheduling and I cancelled through the tech. Still waiting for a supervisor to call. I attempted to call another AC company to pay out of pocket and they will not touch the system. Now the company is saying they cannot make it out til dec 26th for a 7-midnight appt. so I am going over two weeks without heat in my home because they do not know how to install a system nor can their customer service get a tech to fix it. STAY AWAY FROM THEM!

I purchased my home back on April 30th
I purchased my home back on April 30th. I have a brand new home that was built and I am the first and only owner for my home. Chas Roberts installed my ac unit and in the past 2 years they've been out to fix my ac 5 times for the same problem. My ac has cooling problems and it seems like they keep putting a Band-Aid on it instead of fixing the problem. At first they said it was my condenser which I paid for, then less than 24hrs they came back because the problem became worse. Now its supposedly the Thermometric Expansion Value which they want $1035 to fix. They also refuse to refund me for purchasing the new censor. I spoke to one the supervisors twice and he lacked customer service and was just a *** about the entire situation. The technician wasn't very pleasant either. He went outside to talk on the phone in his van for about 20 mins then came back I asked what was going on and he put his hand up an yelled at me. I never want this company in my home or attic ever again! Please if you don't want to be scammed nor want ac problems in this desert hot state DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
I have a brand new AC which will not turn on
I have a brand new AC which will not turn on. Called Chas to schedule appt and they told me first avail was a Friday evening between 7pm and midnight. On that Friday at 11pm I get a call saying they couldn't make the midnight timeframe as they were running late. I thought after midnight was just way too late so I told them that and they said then would Sunday between 1pm - 5pm work. I agreed to that. On Sunday at 3:30 they called and said I was next and that they would be there after 4pm. Well at 6pm I call and they say they don't know when the tech will be there. I call at 8pm and I get their answering service and they say they are closed and will call me on Monday. Now I'm really mad because of the misinformation. At 10pm Sunday night I get a call saying they can come in about 45 minutes. I was in bed already so I said no. I call Monday morning saying when are they coming and I'm told the earliest would be Wednesday between 7pm and midnight. I said no, I've been scheduled since Friday! Why are they not here right now? I asked to speak to a super and he finally called and he said he can't change times, doesn't know why etc, and here I am still waiting. I have zero confidence with Chas and their service is flat out awful. I wish I never had to deal with them.

First of all, our ac unit went out for a second time within 3 years
First of all, our ac unit went out for a second time within 3 years. Keep in mind that our closing date was in 2019. The first time the downstairs ac unit stopped working was supposedly due to needing a capacitor replaced which seemed odd given that the ac unit was only about 1-2 years old.Fast forward to four years, our downstairs unit stopped working again. I called for assistance and explained how we have a 1 year old and 3 year old and how it was an emergency chaz explained that they only had availability for a week out. I verified that the week out availability was due to many other homeowners having ac unit outages from *** roberts installed units. Instead of waiting a week and putting my kids in danger, I decided to take action myself and resolve the issue on my own (pics taken). The ac unit for downstairs located in the attic had panel doors that were not securely tighten by the necessary screws. Instead, these screws were lying under pvc piping and insulation. I noticed that that missing screws were necessary as there is a safety switch held down by the panel doors when properly secured. When not properly secured, this can cause thermostat to shut off and display a blank screen. Once I properly inserted the screws into the panel doors, the thermostat turn back on allowing the unit to be turned back on. Although, I had resolved the issue, I still wanted to keep our aopt with *** roberts for August 1st to ensure they did not find any other issues. I had advised the rep when I first answered the door that the.unit was working again but would still like him to check it out. I am assuming that he did not hear me correctly because be then came to my front door ten minutes later to tell.me that the unit was back up and running and that the cause was due to a burnt wire and and labor would be $299. This makes no sense to me as the unit was already working before he got here because I had already fixed it as illustrated above and advised the rep of this when he initially rang the doorbell to service.

I've used Roberts Heating/Cooling for approximately two decades. Their service has been terrific. But today I had an exceptional conversation with the receptionist/agent who explained one of the service plans in detail to me. As a result, I decided to make the purchase. In addition, she skillfully handled a matter afterwards related to the purchase. Her knowledge and friendly presence was reassuring, reminding me again how happy I've been for so many years with this company!
