Hermes Parcelnet Liars

been waiting for parcel from Miss Selfridge for over a week. Allowed for easter etc and then tracked it. Hey presto it said "left in porch" on 1 april at 13.36. Well what a surprise as there was someone in the house until 7.30 pm as it was my daughters birthday and we were also waiting for 2 other deliveries which duly arrived. Yesterday I got a card off postman (8th April) for item which had excess postage to pay. Went to PO today and lo and behold it was the missing parcel which had obviously been dropped into postbox somewhere by lazy courier who tells lies! Someone at the post office told me that this happens often. This is disgusting service. Hermes dont want to know but I am complaining in writing and have let Miss Selfridge know as they must be losing money if this is happening often.

We're missing several deliveries now and still no luck at all. The companies that use hermes have told us that our deliveries have been put in a "shed"...that we clearly do not have, we have been given NO note in our letterbox either, clearly either not delivered at ALL or they have just chosen a random house. However our neighbours haven't had the deliveries either. Hermes couriers are lying to the companies, pretending that they have delivered to get their dirty money. Lazy [censored].

Agree that Hermes are liars! (Yodel as bad) We live deep in farmland in NE Aberdeenshire, so a very low density population, and they will NOT come out from Aberdeen if they have only a single parcel to deliver. Yet they put on the tracking, that they have "attempted to deliver and will try again"! As we very, very rarely go out, we know they make no "attempt". They're like 2 yr olds who think the big people believe their lies! Even when they do deliver, they'll chuck the parcel on the drive, so we don't know it HAS arrived. This last time is THE last - anything I buy online will have to be from companies who use Royal Mail.

These are the worst people at delivering things! I've been waiting all day for the courier to deliver (as the order tracking system shows 'out for delivery') ...no one has arrived all day - not even a card left to prove that the driver attempted delivery and apparently the tracker states - 'driver to re-attempt delivery'! LIARS! Aarrrggghhh! No wonder they don't have a phone contact service - would be non-stop complaints!

I have had two deliveries handled by Hermes and neither of them have arrived at my address! The driver does not call me to ask directions as I have instructed, but visits an empty property instead! The first time he "left the parcel in the porch" (at the empty property) the second time (today) a drop card was left at the same property saying "delivery will be attempted Monday". I can't contact Hermes to warn them the driver is not delivering to the correct address and I am very concerned about the parcel (laptop computer) banging around in the back of a van all weekend. When the driver arrives Monday he will leave another card at the wrong property and I don't know what is going to happen to my laptop! I only discovered the first parcel because the owner of the empty property called that morning to check the house over and tidy the garden and brought it round for me. The owner of the same property has visited me again today with the drop card, all I can say is good job he has been doing some work on his empty house otherwise the first parcel would still be there and the drop cards will keep on building up behind the front door, God only knows what will happen after Monday!

Avoid using Hermes!

Hermes Parcelnet Non-delivery of goods

Please note that Hermes do not deliver or leave a cared saying that they have even attempted to deliver. The email contact us response is and I qoute "We apologise, but are unable to deal directly with your parcel enquiry. Please contact the company with who you placed your order."
The telephone number: [protected] gives an automated message saying the same thing. I can only assume that their reputation of non-delivery is such they dare not speak to people.
If you are a retailer or anyone else for that matter considering using this courier firm for the delivery of your goods I would advise that you re-consider and use a more reliable courier service.

Last 5 orders I've placed with Amazon that have gone to Hermes for delivery have all been returned to Amazon with the "unable to deliver due to unforseen circumstances" excuse. No explanation as to what constitutes unforseen circumstances. Tidal wave sweeping delivery van away? Sheep stealing the van? Amazon also are next to useless at handling my complaint - they say they have no control over which delivery company gets parcels and I can re-order if I still want the goods! All other courier companies have no problems delivering to my address - even those with an average score for deliveries.

Many packages delivered successfully without fuss in the run up to Christmas except two, from different suppliers but same courier...Hermes. Repeatedly "out for delivery" but no attempt to deliver. Given the number of complaints about this company why is anyone still using them ?

I think the problem is that couriers vary drastically and it's luck of the draw. Our local courier sometimes won't deliver to our office as the car park is for staff only. How on earth do they manage to deliver in city centers with no parking? Oh, and their phone is always engaged. Seems like a joke of a company.

I have had a card through the door saying i was out ( even though i was in), but no number or contact details. It did have a date that they would re deliver and needless to say i stay in but they dont bother! I contacted the number at the bottom of the card which tells me that i would have to go to the website. After going to the website i finally leave a complaint as there is no other way of contacting them. An automated email pops to my in box saying that they cant talk to me about it and i should contact the sender. HOW CAN I WHEN I DONT KNOW WHO SENT IT!

AN AWFUL COMPANY WHO HAS NO INTEREST IN SERVICE YET HAS THE BALLS TO BRAG ABOUT THERE GOOD DELIVERY RATES ON THEIR WEBSITE! GOD KNOWS WHERE THEY GET THEIR FIGURES FROM!

I thoroughly agree. Hermes are an absolute nightmare. I stopped using one catalogue who delivered via these couriers but am now caught up in their ineptitude again through a second caralogue. And yet again - no delivery - no collection of items to be returned (in spite of arranging this 5 times). This catalogue are even worse - they don't give you the option of returning via the post office. NEVER EVER EVER EVER use Hermes - they are absolutely dreadful. It's about time these mail order catalogues realised that their customers deserve some service and that using Hermes can only lose them customers in droves.

I totally agree to with jane63. I love small businesses and their great ideas and decided to try Hermes since they always deliver my order from NEXT even on a Sunday. I live in North London and wanted a parcel sent to South East London (I wished I had just driven down there myself) . I won't bore you with all the details and phone calls I made to resolve this. But item turned up after 2 weeks in a State! The bag was torned and delivered wide open. Thankfully everything was still intact but I was very dissatisfied with the service and won't be using them in a loooooooooooooooooooh while, if I ever do at all!

Just found my Hermes delivery in the top of the dustbin which had been put out for collection, luckily I was putting in some extra rubbish, the dustbin lorry was at the top of the road so 10 minutes later my parcel would have been in the truck!
Found a card previously stuck in the door frame rather than posted through the letter box.
Diabolical service!

Same here. My parcel is sitting in their warehouse, and has been for a week. No update on their "tracking system" online..

Spoke to the place i ordered from, only to be informed that they are "having problems with their couriers picking orders up from the warehouse"

Despite all the negative comments around about HDN, I've personally never had a problem with them.
Hermes are just awful.
Getting really fed up.

I am in the process of waiting for a delivery and it has been sitting at it's central hub for days. Only 25 miles from me and it was only coming from Dundee! I have since ordered 2 items which were ordered after this afore mentioned parcel, one from USA and one from Holland - one took 4 days and the other took 48 hrs both UPS.

All I have to say is WAKEY! WAKEY! Hermes. Even Parcel 'Farce' is more reliable.

Don't use Hermes Couriers unless you want to send a parcel to someone you really don't like!

Lousy courier firm. I ordered goods from Ambrose Wilson catalogue and this courier firm did not deliver my goods. If you phone them they tell you to go back to the catalohgue, and the catalogue tells you that they have no contact with the courier! Lousy arrangement, avoid, avoid, avoid! Heres the phone number for Hermes couriers - if anyone needs it...
