The company was great!
The company was great! 2nd time I used them. Communication was terrific - they worked around my need to communicate with email and text, once fully understanding the scope of my request were able to provide a very reasonable estimate, let me have 1 day to review and lock in at that price, their "hold $100 deposit on credit card" once I committed with ability to cancel up to 24 hours prior to the job (this included the weekend!) was a really great piece of mind. Then they put me in touch with my helper's they found for the job, and they were terrific! When the allotted time of the job was up that day, Hire A Helper sent me a text reminding me the job closure time was coming close - is the job finished, or do I want to request more time - and if so to talk to my helpers. I did, they assured they were just wrapping up and would be done on time, I entered that into the text from Hire a Helper so they could process the remainder of the amount due. I couldn't recommend them enough - and the helpers they put me in touch with were awesome!
If I could leave Zero stars I would
If I could leave Zero stars I would. The company we were matched with was a red flag when I couldnt get a hold of them prior to the move. No answer to calls or text. I called hire a helper and they said that was normal and the movers are busy. We were scheduled and we shouldnt worry. I should have went with my gut and requested different movers. The movers did actually show up. Not a great attitude and not *** friendly (which they dont have to be so not a bit deal). First item they decided to move was our Sofa. Instead of just picking it up they put it on a dolly and rolled it to the front door. They struggled to get the couch out of the door (it was packed the exact way we brought it in) and kept complaining it wouldnt fit. They started arguing that we needed to unwrap the couch and take all the cushions out (it was completely wrapped with furniture wrap). Leaving the couch in the middle of our apartment hallway they walked off the job after being there for 10 minutes. Hire a helper didnt do anything and neither did the owner of the company we were matched with. I guess you get what you pay for!
I was so worried about how to get my heavy items moved and I scheduled hire a helper. They were on time, profession and courteous. They were so kind and helpful and careful! I will use them again I am sure! 5/5 all day long! The movers were top rate!
Polite, friendly, efficient and very careful Arrived on time excellent will hire again for my next move
Hire a helper did a wonderful job & took care while moving my things!
We were very pleased with the professional, responsiveness and affordability.
I In spite of the advance deposit I made for 3 movers for 5 hours, only two showed up
I In spite of the advance deposit I made for 3 movers for 5 hours, only two showed up. With NO advance notice. I had nailed the total time needed for what I warned the movers was mostly just heavy furniture and the end result was *** tired movers and unnecessary damage to both our furniture and our BRAND NEW home. I called Hire A Helper LLC immediately after the movers left. They did not return my call until the next morning when I was unavailable. I tried again unsuccessfully to reach them. I stupidly went ahead and authorized the payment of the deposit amount because it bugged me to have that hanging over my head. After that, they made no attempt to return either my calls or emails until after I posted a poor review on their website.I had been told verbally when I booked the move and by the guys who showed up at the door that my move included insurance of $.60 a pound. However, when I read the fine print after my things were damaged it says that you have to inventory the furniture by the night before for the insurance to apply. They did offer me $180 back on my *** without having to file for the insurance which is the only reason they get two stars.
had a great experience with hire a helper during our move from *** to MS. used their services to both load and unload our furniture and we were pleased every time. The staff were quick to offer suggestions and very respectful of our home and our belongings.I would definitely use hire a helper again and have already recommended them to friends and family.
The individuals who assisted us with our move were outstanding. However, my experience with HireAHelper, particularly with a manager from their team, was far from satisfactory. They dispatched two separate crews despite our request for only one. The second crew arrived two hours late, long after the job was completed. This manager placed the blame on us for their oversight and attempted to bill us for the unnecessary second team's time, despite them not performing any work and arriving late. I strongly advise against using this company's services and would caution anyone about providing them with credit card information.
I had a great experience with Hire A Helper and plan to use them again in the near future.
They facilitated the hiring of our "Pods" packers and seamlessly took care of billing and scheduling. This is a fast, efficient way to get help. Thanks.
I have nothing but praise for HireAHelper
I have nothing but praise for HireAHelper. Initially, when we had to find helpers for our move, I went to the official partner of our shipment company. They were booked solid for one month and simply could not fit us in. Then I contacted four major companies, well advertised on the Internet, with the same result. I was about to give up, assuming that I had not planned for our move during the peak summer season and, now, it was too late. Then, I recalled the emails that Porch.com had sent us. Through them I contacted HireAHelper and I have been pleasantly surprised and impressed with the excellent job that all the loaders and unloaders have done. I have had two companies and three loading/unloading events that their sub-contracting companies helped with. All were reasonable in their prices, and prompt, efficient, friendly, and meticulous in their demeanor and efforts. Whenever I reached out to HireAHelper, as I had to, when I rescheduled my second shipment to an earlier (not later!) date, they promptly found someone else (the original company was not available, who incidentally let me know quite promptly) for the job, with excellent reviews and still reasonably priced (about the same as the first one). Thanks for everything!
They were right on time and had perfect communication. Worked hard the whole time.
Horrible. Because of the time difference I was charged the cancelation fee. Never use these people.
The team sent we hired through *** was excellent. Great experience highly recommend
Absolutely loved this company! We moved from one city to another and we used them in the past and present. They are always available live and they send out the absolute best! We got to pick from three different moving companies that load and unload Pods, they sent the bids through email. We will definitely use them again!
Moving takes perseverance and a good crew to assemble and organize a truck when packing an entire home into a 26' Truck
Moving takes perseverance and a good crew to assemble and organize a truck when packing an entire home into a 26' Truck. I estimated three guys and me for three hours to get it done. The young guys sent by Hire-A-Helper were incredibly careful, professional and hardworking. We beat my estimate by 15 minutes - loading three bedrooms, a dining room, a living room, a kitchen, an office, an attic and a overflowing garage in 2:45 hrs. *** was the "Tetris" professional on the truck. By loading it properly for the first third of the truck - we were able to fit the entire house in that truck. Quite amazing. Each of those guys were worth their weight by three times. I busted my *** to break down shelving units, beds, tables and office furniture to keep these guys moving without having to wait on pieces to be disassembled. I worked as hard as they did and as a team, I was pleased not only with the result, but the care they took not to hit walls or frames or furniture - not once. ***, G and *** were tipped handsomely for their effort. they deserved every dollar. In addition, I hired two guys on the back side to unload for two hours. Beating that estimate by 15 minutes as well. These guys work hard and make the cost of Hire-A-Helper invaluable.
Legacy Team through Hire a Helper was the ABSOLUTE WORST service I'd ever encountered
Legacy Team through Hire a Helper was the ABSOLUTE WORST service I'd ever encountered. They showed up 4.5 HOURS late, and when I called about 30 minutes before their arrival slot ended they said they were "running a little late" but would still be here to help me. So I said, "okay, a little after 3 PM then?" and she said yes. It's 3:30 and I call again and she proceeds to tell me she is in ANOTHER STATE and was finishing up a job there first. She did not give this information during the first call. I hired 2 helpers to unload a moving truck for 2 hours. She said there would be 3 movers that would help to make up for being late--but that didn't help me at all; adding a 3rd mover only helped THEIR situation. And the 3rd mover was already with them anyway. What were they going to do if they were on time? The 3rd person would just sit there the whole time the other 2 worked? It was solely out of convenience for them. It ended up taking them 70 minutes to complete the job. Once they got here, they were very fast. Had they arrived on time and did not keep extending their arrival time (literally 10 minute increments to hours) they would have gotten a great review and a great tip. When it only took them 70 minutes to complete the job she continued to say that "there is a 2 hour minimum" so I had to pay for 2 hours of work anyway, even though i WAITED for nearly 5 hours for them to show up to do their job! I will NEVER recommend this company for any help WHATSOEVER.

Your experience with Hire a Helper will vary greatly dependent on the contractor that they match you with
Your experience with Hire a Helper will vary greatly dependent on the contractor that they match you with. For us, it ended up as the worst moving experience we've ever had, in which nearly every piece of furniture suffered some degree of damage. We were matched with Zeta Beta via a MovingPlace/Hire A Helper full-service move. Three of the Four movers arrived 40 minutes after we were told they would arrive. Within ten minutes of starting the owner, ***, tried to roll a full dresser onto it's side and snapped the leg. "It can't ever support it's own weight... That's just wood glue." Wooden furniture wasn't protected while moving because the fourth guy was the one with bringing the blankets and wrap, so nearly every piece of furniture got scratched (only a bookshelf made it our unscathed). Heavy boxes were stacked four high on a dolly so that the boxes at the bottom collapsed. Items that should have been plastic wrapped weren't. We provided a mattress bag, yet somehow it still got stained from the dirt in the truck. Metal objects were placed against wooden surfaces, and bikes were laid, unsecured, on top of a digital piano. The truck was packed so poorly that we called MovingPlace and requested it to be redone. They initially offered to have Zeta Beta come back out and we refused. We were told that they have since removed them from their list of movers, but they are still active on Hire A Helper.Mister Saguarothe subsequent movers that fixed the loadwere great, but by that time the damage was done. An expensive *** learned.

I've worked with a moving company before and had a good experience, so I used them again.
I've worked with a moving company before and had a good experience for my first move so I decided to use them again for my subsequent move. They connected me with 'We the states moving', a company with positive reviews, so we chose them. Unfortunately, the experience was subpar. We expected 3 helpers for 5 hours but got 1 experienced mover training his nephew, and a 63-year-old whose back gave out after 2 hours. My friends and I ended up moving boxes ourselves while the movers struggled with a bed frame for an hour. They also required an extra 3.5 hours, incurring additional charges, and failed to fully pack the trailer, leaving furniture in the garage. I had to rent another trailer. After hiring different helpers who did a great job, I realized the initial team was inadequate. When we voiced our concerns, the lead mover, related to the other two, threatened to leave the job unfinished. The company should ensure better quality referrals. A proper team doesn't include an inexperienced kid and an elderly man. It was a disappointing experience.
I hired hire a helper on Sat 6/11/2022 for an unload on 6/12/2022 @8a
I hired hire a helper on Sat 6/11/2022 for an unload on 6/12/2022 @8a. The rep told me I would receive confirmation and a call from the moving company. Which I never did. I actually set my reservation up less than 23 hours. We were driving from *** to *** in a 16ft with car carrier and car. While hire a helper sent me a confirmation I never received call or email confirmation from the contracted company. I called the number provided to no avail so I waited for contact which I never received. Because I was on east coast and hire a helper was on west coast I could not speak with anyone due to operational hours. Needless to say I was delayed by an hour due to car accident and traffic delays. I called All *** Moving 6a est time on 6/12 and was able to speak.with the movers and explained my ETA would be 9:30a i explained i was moving from AZ *** miles away o explained the wreck the delays and they would not move my time said they couldn't be sure I hired them thru hire a helper. I told him Noone contacted me to confirm no Email or anything Because of the coastal time hire a helper wouldn't be open till 9a Sunday 6/12. *** attempted to reach out All *** Moving but the company still sent the workers to my house even though they knew I was not there and still traveling on the road.. just ridiculous and then tried to charge me additional money if they stayed. *** charged me *** of my *** for cancellation. It was either that or pay for moving company twice. I'm thoroughly disgusted and want my money back. That was a whole scam. Especially me setting this up the day before and informing the *** that I was traveling from *** miles away. I would never recommend this company. No type of empathy or delay prrocess.and they ripped me off. I told the. I wanted the calls pulled because this was not fair. Noone has reached out to me since
My whole experience with them was horrible
My whole experience with them was horrible. After I filled out the inventory a rep called, when she told me it would take 3 hours to load, I questioned it and was told they are professionals, they can do it. When I was told how many feet I would need on the trailer, I questioned that, and I was told they are taller and wider than a Uhaul, it will fit. I even sent videos of everything, but, they still insisted it was fine. They ended up going over by 4.5 hours for loading and my things took up double the space. In fact, the trailer they sent couldn't even fit everything, I put 7 items on the curb. I ended up paying and additional $3,200 on top of the original quote they gave. As if that wasn't bad enough, the guys who loaded the trailer didn't have moving blankets even though I was told there would be 12. So, a LOT of my furniture was scratched. A lot of items had footprints on them too because they didn't have ladders to pack items up high, so, they stood on my belonging, including a jewelry armoire. The legs were so wobbly when it was unloaded, they almost fell off. Then, someone thought it would be a good idea to put the stationary bike on top of a wardrobe. The top of the wardrobe collapsed and the bike fell inside, which then the seat got torn up when it fell inside the wardrobe. I had at least a dozen plastic tote bins crushed from putting the heavier items on top of the light items. I put in a claim for over 25 items and I was told I had to find someone to look at the damages. I was having trouble finding a company because I wasn't sure what they would be called, so, I responded to their email and I was told to google it. I sent another email and asked what these type of services are called and I've gotten no response. I have yet to resolve this issue. This company is very difficult to deal with and is a scam. I give them no stars and would never recommend them.
Unresponsive to poor service
Unresponsive to poor service. Inadequate business practices and disregard for contracted employees *** I hired two movers for two hours on Friday, July 16 for $354. And was scheduled for another two hours and two movers for Saturday, July 17.Here's what we got:1. Friday's movers arrived 2 1/2 hours late. 2. When they finally showed, one of the movers was already suffering from heat exhaustion and dehydration. He was sweating profusely, breathing heavy, and stumbling around while attempting to move furniture. We were so concerned while watching him do this, after 15 minutes of help I gave him some water and my husband told him to stop. He was either going to pass out and hurt himself, or damage our goods.3. So for the next 45 minutes it was MY HUSBAND and the ONE hire-a-helper mover doing all the heavy lifting up the stairs. 4. The next thing we know, the exhausted worker is in our brand-new bathroom VOMITING! Not outside in the yard, but in our bathroom! While we were concerned for his health, we were also extremely concerned about COVID!5. We told them to leave asap. When I called Hire-A-Helper to adjust my billing, I was put on hold and passed around from one customer care manager to another for several minutes. Their resolution to this horrible service was to credit $100. So instead of paying $354 for 2 movers for 2 hours, they charged me $254 dollars for 1 mover for 1 hour and left me having to clean up someone's vomit from my own bathroom. I tried to stop my payment through PayPal, but Hire-A-Helper had already processed it before the movers even arrived. AND on top of it, they charged me an additional $95 to cancel the movers arranged for the second day. There was no way we were going to have another contracted employee come out when they obviously had no regulations for best business practices and safety concern for their workers and clients! UNBELIEVABLE!Their only response was this was ALL according to the Terms of Agreement. Well, it also says in their Terms of Agreement:Service Guarantee If you are unsatisfied with your move, we will reconcile the issue on your behalf or reimburse you 100% of the cost of your job (up to *** $1000.00).They seemed to have forgotten this guarantee. Buyer Beware!I am also contacting PODS to complain, since it was through PODS I was connected with Hire-A-Helper.
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH HIRE A HELPER AND MOVING PLACE!
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH HIRE A HELPER AND MOVING PLACE! THEY WORK TOGETHER TO SCAM YOU! I was originally working with Moving Place to move my things from San Francisco to Austin Texas. I spoke with Jeff, whose job is to get you in to sign the deal. He is very nice and calming and stated the truck that was going to be placed at my house was "as big as a dump truck and it would fit on the small streets of San Francisco". So I signed the deal put a deposit down. Then his partner calls me and states there is no way their large truck would fit on any street in San Francisco. It was a very long moving truck and would take up a lane and a half. Aparently it wasn't a trash dump truck. However, they always work closely with Hire a Helper. There were a number of scams going on here. 1st Moving Place should have know that their truck would not fit in San Francisco. But instead they lie, say the truck was "as big as a trash dump truck, would fit in San Francisco and take your money. Then they hand the phone to a second guy who calls several days later and states ,"there is no way the truck would fit and my only option was to work with Hire a Helper. 2. I spoke with Sabrina L, From Hire a Helper. She stated they would load my stuff into a smaller truck at my home , take it to the warehouse where Moving Places truck was and then unload my things into the Moving Place truck. They further stated When Moving Place got to Austin, my things would be unloaded off the Moving Place truck into a smaller truck and would be taken and unloaded at my home in Texas for $1550. 3. Then Sabrina hands the phone off to the "Logistic person " who called two days later and stated, This order doesn't show the Texas part of unloading the Moving Places truck, putting it in a smaller truck and transporting and unloading to my home in Texas. Although I had the email in my hand with the quoted price of $1550, Sabrina stated she did not quote that price and that it was an error from her coworker. She further stated the quote of 1550 does not include the unloading in Texas. I immediately canceled everything with Moving Place and told them I wanted a full refund. Sabrina was such a liar and a coward she would not even speak with me the next day. I gave them two hours to cancel their contract. She would not call me back and made the logistic guy handle my anger and deal with the contract cancellation. Total Switch and Bait. The two companies work together and Hire a Helper stated they had merged their companies together. Moving Place denied the merge but please BEWARE!
We needed to relocate our medical office (same building but different floor) so we scheduled with Smooth Moves
We needed to relocate our medical office (same building but different floor) so we scheduled with Smooth Moves. The experience was the worst we've ever had. I would not recommend them or Hire A Helper. Here's why... They were originally scheduled to arrive between 9 am and 10 am. Due to miscommunication between the owner and staff, traffic and other factors they did not arrive until 1:35 pm. We adjusted our patient schedule so we would not have patients until later in the afternoon. Unfortunately, due to the 4 to 5 hour delay in arrival we were forced to cancel appointments. When I called to get updates on the arrival time, I was given a different number each time. I was told 1 hour, then it was 30 minutes, then 15 minutes. I finally called hire a helper and they told me 1 hour. After all the back and forth they finally arrived. They showed up without any equipment needed to move our furniture, boxes and other items. They had no dolly, trolley or anything to move the desks, not even blankets. They came completely empty handed. Fortunately, we had elevators but because they were unprepared the move took much longer than it should have. They weren't finished until 4:50. Some of our items were damaged, including one of our desks and a storage shelf . The owner offered a discount for the tardiness. However, they were unprepared and caused damage. We got the updated invoice for 4 hours so I contacted Hire A Helper to review. First, they were not there for 4 hours, it was 3 hours and 20 mins. I explained everything that happened and our dissatisfaction with the services. The movers did not communicate well, they were inaccurate with their arrival time (multiple calls with a different time each time), they arrived over 4 hours later than expected, they were unprepared, it inconvenienced our patients, disrupted our operations, and there was damage to some items. I detailed my concerns to Hire A Helper customer service because the invoice did not reflect any of the issues. The person I spoke to (a supervisor) was unhelpful, condescending and insisted we pay for the services. After multiple discussions (spanning over about 7 days), with a detailed description of all of the issues, they finally agreed to give an appropriate discount. This, by far, is the worst experience we've had with a moving company. The gentlemen that completed the move worked hard but the owner did not notify them of the correct start time nor did he provide the equipment needed to move our furniture and boxes. Hire A Helper was more concerned with getting the most payment for the movers and not the customer satisfaction. Both Smooth Moves and Hire A Helper were unprofessional and inconsiderate.

Last Sunday we hired this company to move us
Last Sunday we hired this company to move us. This was 8/01. The movers were to arrive between 10-11. They arrived late. Once they arrived, they immediately began complaining about our apartment being on the third floor. Shortly after, i noticed they stopped bringing boxes up, which they only brought up a couple at this point, so I went to see what was going on and the guys had left the truck completely opened, unattended, and so much of our things were left on ALL 3 FLOORS! My husband and I began moving ourselves at this point. We had to alternate because we have a 1 year old baby and couldnt leave her alone. The movers finally reappeared and mentioned they walked over to the dollar general to get drinks. This happened TWO OTHER TIMES! Eventually they just left them on the second floor. My husband had to go get the boxes and began moving everything himself. After the 2nd hour their boss called asking if we needed them for an additional hour and charged us even though they stopped
On April 4, 2022, movers arrived at our home. The company's emblem was visible on their attire. I inquired about their employer, and they informed me they were from SML. I checked with my husband to confirm if this was the company he had arranged. He did not recognize the name. He reached out to Hireahelper and learned that SML was their subcontractor. We were promised four movers, yet only three arrived. Among them, one had some experience, another had minimal, and the last seemed inexperienced and emitted an odor of alcohol. My husband questioned Hireahelper about the missing fourth mover. They promised to send another but failed to do so.
We requested that the movers prioritize our appliances. They struggled with our gas range and spent an hour trying to load our refrigerator, during which they damaged our front door frame and the storm door's hydraulic arm. They eventually refused to move the refrigerator, claiming they couldn't figure out how to remove it from the house. They had even stripped away the protective covering we had placed on the refrigerator's glass door. We reapplied the protection, and after further deliberation, the refrigerator was loaded onto the truck, now sporting a dent. Subsequently, they proceeded without consulting us, opting to load boxes rather than furniture. We questioned why items like our sectional and china cabinet were overlooked. They left behind much of the furniture, claiming the truck could no longer accommodate more items.
Throughout the process, the two younger movers were swearing and arguing. One used our restroom without permission. They scratched our hardwood floors and damaged a door. A couch suffered broken legs. We contacted Hireahelper during the move to report the damages and unprofessional conduct.
I received an e-mail for $25 off service. I followed the link to book the service. The banner on the top of the page states Your $25 discount will be applied upon checkout! I booked a mover with a displayed cost of $335. However, upon completing the booking I received a receipt that listed the cost of the movers as $360. Contrary to the banner announcing that the $25 discount would be applied at checkout, the quoted price of $335 already included the $25 discount. I confirmed this by calling. This is very misleading as the banner indicates that the discount is not included in the initial quoted price when in fact it is.
We hired a load and unload service through Hire A Helper based on online reviews, which we later discovered were misleading, and have since endured a terrible experience with the loading crew provided by HireAHelper. The crew from Above and Beyond Moving Logistics was contracted to arrive between 7-8 am. When they had not arrived by a little after 8 am on moving day, we called them. The owner, Angelos, cited traffic, adverse weather, and a late start due to taking his children to school as reasons for the delay, claiming he was 20 minutes away. When we called again at 8:30, he repeated one of his earlier excuses.
They finally arrived at 9:03, and we informed them that we had an unloading crew waiting over three hours away and that we needed to be finished by 11 am sharp. Unfortunately, by the time we had to leave at 11, not all of our items were loaded onto the truck. This forced us to rent another truck due to the unprofessional lateness of Above and Beyond Moving Logistics, incurring additional costs.
En route to our second location, I spoke with a manager who offered an apology and a discount for the inconvenience. However, our attempt to leave a negative review on Hire A Helper was thwarted when it appeared as a 5-star review instead. Further investigation revealed this was a common issue with other dissatisfied customers. To make matters worse, we received a text from the owner of Above and Beyond Moving Logistics that was confrontational in nature, following our review. We are astonished by this situation and believe we should not have to pay Above and Beyond Logistics after such harassment and the discovery of deceptive 5-star ratings on HireAHelper's website. This appears to be a classic case of bait and switch, where false high ratings are presented, despite the service being deserving of a much lower rating. We have documented evidence of these reviews and the harassment and are considering reaching out to Complaintsboard.com for assistance.
On 9/11 I used Hire A Helper LLCs listing service to find a company to used for loading services at a service date of 9/18
On 9/11 I used Hire A Helper LLCs listing service to find a company to used for loading services at a service date of 9/18. I found a sub-company to use at a price of $263.00 for loading services through Hire A Helper LLCs search services. I was contacted on 9/14 by phone by a representative of Hire A Helper LLC and told the service has been cancelled by the sub-company but a replacement company has been found. I stated that this is acceptable if the price was the same. The price they were now quoting was $430.00. I ended the call and called the sub-company to see why the job was cancelled. The contact for the sub-company stated the date of service I requested has been booked well before 9/11. Hire A Helper is deliberately allowing people to hire services at a lower price that will not be fulfilled and waiting until the last minute to tell them the service can't be fulfilled and the price has increased drastically. I request a replacement service at a price of $263.

We used hire a helper to help us with a move across the country. Due to improper loading our furniture, lamps etc were damaged. We went through the claims process with hire a helper. They only agreed to reimburse us $177.20 (a fraction of our damages). We accepted this to move on. They sent us a check for the above. This check bounced due to insufficient funds in their account. Our bank charged us an additional $19 check bounce service fee. Hire a helper doesnt have a phone based claims department and wont speak with us about this over the phone. Weve submitted emails to their claims department but have many no progress in receiving our claim reimbursement. Please help this frustrated and disappointed customer
Hi i have been a service provider with this site for three years! My experience has been 50/50 with this site. My issue is with the claims department it as been numerous times a customer has filled a false claim and i try to explain the situation even put the claims in the worker's notes for the job and nothing ever goes in the service provider favor. Also i had a payment plan for past damage claims, which is $847 which some claims we have been called racial slurs and still had to pay for customer claim even though my crew was verbally attacked on more than one occasion. I also have asked for a payment link so i can go with my plan i was provided the link one time and never got a working invoice link again. Now i can't reactivate my account until $847 is paid in a once lump sum amount. On top of getting charged $150 for a false claim but the process with the claims department is very one sided and agents come off as your guilty not matter what ou say or present. The recorded conversation dont mean anything to claims department just very difficult to prove yourself because when you say it wasn't damage by you they reference the false claim pictures as proof the customer is right. I try to talk to the claims team but they are very short with conversation and never trying to hear your side fully.
I hired Hire a Helper to load and unload my things on 03/06
I hired Hire a Helper to load and unload my things on 03/06. However, the loading took much longer than I expected. An extra 3 hours was required because of the way the helpers loaded the truck. I noticed this early and called to push back the helpers on the unloading end by 2 hours. I was told the helpers couldn't do it that late. I then asked for the earliest help on the following day. I asked for 8 o'clock. At first, I was told that would be fine, then they called back to say they couldn't get the help that early. We then tried for 9'oclock. After speaking to several people, I was told the helpers would be there between 9 and 10 am. I arrived early the next morning and waited for the helpers, who arrived 1 hour and 15 minutes late. The rental truck was due back at 12:15, but they would allow extra time. The helpers finished at 1:15 pm. The truck rental facility said that would get me there too late and I was charged an extra day rental, which cost $227.59. After finding out that the truck rental company would charge an extra day, we went to eat and use the bathroom before returning the truck. We arrived around 3 pm, but they were processing other trucks ahead of us. I was charged $1086.30 for the helpers and reimbursed $95.00.

I hired 2 loaders from Hire A Helper to load a pod on 9/2. I paid $498. I was told the loaders were trained. I was told theyd bring tie downs but Id provide blankets, which I did. Upon late arrival, they began complaining about items to load and asked me whats important. When loading began, it was *** clear they had never been trained in loading pods nor were they using the blankets provided. I stepped in and was required to direct & assist in loading the pod. They had no tie downs. Afterwards, I realized there were damages to my home. I immediately called hireahelper to voice a complaint and from that moment on, Ive been given the runaround by HireaHelper, except a credit of $115. They direct you how to file a complaint but their website has technical flaws so that one cant complete the complaint procedure. I have been trying to receive restitution since 9/3; it seems their complaint process is designed to frustrate consumers so they give up on the claim..I will not!
I used hire a helper to hire two workers for two hours. They used a company called *** supposedly to supply the two workers. No workers showed up even after I contacted them asking for a time of arrival twice but they forged my signature and charged my pay pal for two hours of work.

I used the company to coordinate moving companies for three separate move out/in situations in two states
I used the company to coordinate moving companies for three separate move out/in situations in two states. Their web based business helps to locate and connect with moving companies throughout the united states. When I received the emails to confirm my move into the Syracuse house there was listed two line items in the bill first 3 movers for 2 hour minimum at a cost of $426.55 and a second line of additional hour 3 movers $211.50 per hour. The problem is that it was not made clear to me that this was in fact a contract that meant I would pay the final amount of both totaling $677.05 regardless of how much time was needed. When I called to contest the full amount when the movers actually took less than 2 hours, the first representative said she needed to check and call me back. When I called again and asked to speak with the previous person, the representative said he did not like my attitude and hung up. The final person said that the information in the email was a contract not an estimate and that I had to pay the full amount regardless of the time. I explained that I understood that I needed to pay the minimum of two hours, but he said o I needed to pay the complete amount. I did and cancelled the order for the following week when my items arrive from my other residence.

On 6/29, I booked the service of Hire a helper for moving for the date of 7/17. The move was as per the price below: 2 helpers, 2 hours - $221.20 Stair fee - $20 Service fee - $39 Additional hour - $70/hr On 7/17 (the day of move), it was cancelled abruptly. Since, my move date was fixed, I had no option, but to book another helper for the same day through Hire a helper at a much higher price: 2 helpers, 2 hours - $431.49 Stair fee - $20 Service fee - $39 Additional hour - $116.32/hr Because of this last minute change, I ended up paying $279.48 more than I would have paid, had the move was not cancelled last minute. I paid - $664.48 I would have paid $385 with the earlier booked helper. Hire a helper customer service offered no help. All they had to say was 'we will refund your money and do do whatever you want'. I am expecting Hire a helper to compensate me for mental agony and unprofessional attitude.
Hi i have been a service provider with this site for three years!
December 30th I went through HireAHelper to find assistance with loading/unloading for our move
December 30th I went through HireAHelper to find assistance with loading/unloading for our move. While they cant control the actions that took place by their service providers that day that included threatening my life, their response to the events have been underwhelming to say the least.Movers were late, milked time to get paid more, broke multiple items, and at the end of the day threatened me to the extent I felt I needed to protect myself. Once reported, part of *** resolution was for me to go back to that same service provider to get money back that they themselves say the service provider did not follow HAH procedure and procuring. The other part provided by *** themselves fell entirely short of the damages(near $1000), and emotional/physical trauma felt during that day.Overall we spent $593 to get our belongings broken, and boxed in by cars by the movers to give them extra money. The response in my eyes, We can give you a $277 check to cover the threatening, the $1000 in damages, the terrible customer service our contractors gave you, and also to still be wary of the contractors who have all your information and may feel like retaliating. Have a good day.I can pretty much guarantee will not be getting an insurance claim from the movers due to these circumstances. So that leave us high and dry and still having to look over our shoulders everyday? Unacceptable

On 24-Nov-2021 Hire A Helper send 4CornersMovers to my new home
On 24-Nov-2021 Hire A Helper send 4CornersMovers to my new home. They showed up at about 2PM. When they arrived, they immediately stated they would not have time to complete the project as stated. They did not bring the supplies needed to complete the job, and they seemed to want to scam us out of money. After 30 plus min on the phone with Hire A Helper, the owner came to me and said that Hire A Helper is looking for someone to continue the move after they have to leave. At this time I stated to the owner of 4CornersMovers, that his time does not start till he unloads a box as he was asked to start unloading when he arrived and that I would deal with Hire A Helper. My clock started at 2:35PM What took a total of 3 hours to pack (just packing boxes and furniture) 4CornersMovers completed about 5% of in the 2ish hours they were actually working. At multiple times we noticed that they were carrying a single box for 3 guys (1 box 3 guys) at a time. They would be standing around talking and not doing anything during multiple time periods. They caused about 700-1000 dollars worth of damage to our brand new home. We had to spend additional money, to hire an additional crew to have the job completed because of the lack of action 4CornersMovers had. (note the additional crew finish the 95% left in 2 hours with out doing any additional damage to my home)We had to call the police on 4CornersMovers, and now we are dealing with a joke of a claims process to get not only our money back for their services that they did not perform but also for damages to the home, we do not feel comfortable because Hire A Helper took no action to resolve the issue other then charge us the customer more money.

They arrived at 8:20 left 3 hrs later
They arrived at 8:20 left 3 hrs later... I did about 90% of the packing in the crate...My wife and I moved most of the boxes outside before they arrived. Now, keep in mind that the reason I chose this company was because the supervisor assured me that they know how to pack, they're experienced, and know what to do. I could have easily gone over to *** and picked up a couple of guys in the parking lot. The one fellow did, at best, a fair job..I was told emphatically they "knew" how to pack...I have moved and packed containers/vans/trucks myself. I am a senior citizen, this is why I asked for help. My wife and I finished at about 2:45 pm. The one fellow, ***, needed to be told what and how to do things. and was waiting for direction/s. the other fellow gave it a fair go of it and yet still needed direction. Moving across the country is stressful enough, and I hired help in hopes of easing some of that. It is also VERY expensive and we are currently out of work due to the pandemic we are in. We are beyond disappointed and frustrated because we feel our money was not at all well spent. We could have done the entire thing better on our own without the added stress of carrying these guys and knowing that we spent hard-earned money to have them help. We feel like we got taken advantage of and it doesn't feel good. I DID contact them while the packers were here, and "attempted" to explain the situation, to no avail. After two or three attempts to explain, on a "professional" level the quality of these "very" young men's ability to carry out the assigned task, fell very short of adequate at best. After listening to "him", I just kept saying I understand, said this 3 or 4 times, as I could see there would be NO USE wasting any more breathe, make any headway or even get fair compensation...I was a bit more infuriated when I was charged the "extra" 75 dollars for the additional hour.
April 4, 2022, movers came to our home at an undisclosed location
On April 4, 2022, movers arrived at our home, identifiable by the company logo on their attire. I inquired about their affiliation and was informed they represented SML. My husband, unaware of this company, reached out to Hireahelper, who confirmed SML was their subcontractor. Although promised four movers, only three arrived: one experienced, one somewhat skilled, and one seemingly intoxicated. My husband's query to Hireahelper about the missing fourth mover resulted in unfulfilled promises. The movers struggled with our appliances, taking an hour to load the refrigerator and damaging our front door and storm door in the process. They eventually refused to move the refrigerator, having removed its protective covering, which we had to replace. Despite the delay, the refrigerator was loaded with new damage. The movers proceeded without consulting us, opting to load boxes over furniture, leaving behind a significant portion of our belongings due to space issues. Meanwhile, the less experienced movers engaged in arguments and one used our restroom without permission. They also scratched our hardwood floors and damaged a door, breaking a couch leg. We reported the damages and unprofessional conduct to Hireahelper as the chaos unfolded.
We hired a load and unload through Hire A Helper based on reviews online (that we now see were false) and have had nothing but a horrible
We hired a load and unload through Hire A Helper based on reviews online (that we now see were false) and have had nothing but a horrible experience with the loading crew assigned by HireAHelper. The loading crew was Above and Beyond Moving Logistics were scheduled to arrive between 7-8 am per our contract with the company. At a little after 8 am on the moving day we called them and Angelos (owners) excuse was traffic, bad weather and then finally saying he was getting a late start to his day due to dropping his kids off to school. He also said he was 20 minutes away which would have put him at our house at 8:25. At 8:30 called again and he said again one of the above excuses. They arrived at 9:03 and we told them that we had an unloading crew over 3 hours away and we had to be done by 11 exactly. At 11 we had to leave and all of our items were not in the truck. We now have to rent another truck to get these items due to the unprofessional tardiness of Above and Beyond Moving Logistics that were sent to us by HIRE A HELPER. Costing us more money.I called a manager named *** on route to our second location and he apologized and said he would be taking $80 (an hour ) off the ***. We went online to post a negative review about this company but the review on Hire A Helper shows it as a 5 Star review. Upon further searching there were multiple people who left bad reviews who also show as a 5 star review on HireA Helpers website. Then the worse of them all. It is a text DIRECTLY from the owner *** of Above and Beyond Moving Logistics HARASSING us due to our review . We are absolutely flabbergasted at this situation and believe we should not pay a dime to Above and Beyond Logistics after this harassment and these false 5 star ratings by HireAHelper. It is a BAIT AND SWITCH by providing false 5 star reviews when they are actually 1 star.We have pictures of all of these reviews and harassment. We are looking at the Complaintsboard.com to help.
We had two transactions with this company
We had two transactions with this company. One was for packing boxes and the other loading pods for moving. We are a retired military family and have moved over 10 times and these two transactions were the worst weve ever experience with a company. The first transaction was performed on 11/29 which was packing. The packers did NOT hardly use any paper to pack the boxes. We supplied all paper and boxes. I had to stop packing the boxes myself several times to ask them to pack correctly. After they left, I opened some boxes they had packed. Thats when I saw hardly anything wrapped in paper. Every box should have items packed tightly so nothing breaks and the boxes dont collapse when other boxes are stacked on them. I did take a couple of pictures of the boxes they packed for proof. The second transaction was on 12/01. The same crew of 2 people showed up for loading the pods, there were supposed to be four. I had to call the company to send two more people. When the two people showed up, they were high on marijuana, and after breaking the legs off a piece of furniture, we sent them home. I talked to a manager with the company after thus. He said we would receive a substantial discount for what had happened. We received our receipt for the second transaction which had been paid through our CC on file. We thought we were done with this company. Then again, the company called me on 12/14 when I was at work asking me about the hours and number of people that had been there on 12/01. I told the representative I was busy and didnt have my calendar in front of me to confirm. I asked him why he was calling me since I had already paid that *** on 12/01 and had received a discount from the manager because of the workers showing up high. And told him that I better NOT see any additional charges on my card. Low and behold an additional $468 was charged to my card right after that phone call. I called back 3 times to try to resolve this issue

Hire A Helper sent three young men to my home at a scheduled time
Hire A Helper sent three young men to my home on April 4th around 9:30 AM. Everything seemed to be going well until I heard a loud bang; it was the top of my dining room table hitting the driveway. They had placed the table on its side on the bare cement without any support. The top is completely damaged and needs to be refinished. I wanted to know if we needed another pod and asked the boys about the space. They assured us there was enough room. However, when they finished, there was still so much stuff left in the garage. I questioned if that was all and they apologized for the lack of space. My fiance, without receiving a receipt, tipped the helper three hundred dollars. With the house closing the next day and time running out, we rented a truck and secured a storage unit. At the end of the day, it was clear that we, a 71-year-old man and a 68-year-old woman, couldn't manage this in 3 hours. When I asked my fiance about the garbage bags, he was unsure of their whereabouts. It turned out they were packed in the pods, so we had to retrieve them. Contacting Hire A Helper was futile and only added to our stress. We removed the mattress, a large mirror, and other items, during which my fiance fell in the pod and injured his back. It was an incredibly tough day. We found two large garbage bags on top of the pod contents; one burst open, spilling everywhere. I was distraught. We suspect there's another bag still inside. We had to hire additional help to unload the truck into storage in the rain. I'm uncertain about the condition of my other belongings until May 16th. Meanwhile, I need to repair the table top, with a quote from Finish Pros for $925. Despite multiple calls, I've yet to hear back from Hire A Helper.

My partner and I have been seeking a refund for our move on 7/29 from Arizona to Texas
My partner and I have been seeking a refund for our move on 7/29 from Arizona to Texas. The contract promised professional movers with hand carts, furniture dollies, furniture blankets, and professional hand tools. The four men that arrived had 1 hand cart and nothing else. Despite being given a detailed inventory list, the initial quote of 2 containers was insufficient. The delivery date was set for 8/5. We had to call them on that date to find out the delivery had been delayed to 8/7. On that date we only received 2 out of 3 containers. This container was then set for delivery on 8/14 and delayed again. Final delivery was on 8/18. Throughout this move, we have had numerous problems that will not fit here. We were not able to make contact with a senior member of staff, ***, until 8/11 after we had made repeated requests for upper management. On 8/11, *** sent a receipt for a refund of the third container that had been added on to our order due to those delays. We were repeatedly told we could not discuss refunds until the move was completed. On 8/19, *** sent a settlement offer with 2 options: A full refund $11,180.00 but requiring us to waive our ability to file for damages; or a partial refund leaving us owing $5,590.00 without a waiver. *** gave us until 8/24 to respond, only 5 days. We asked for the definition of "damages" and were told this does include filing under the $20,000 insurance policy we purchased through them before the move. We asked for their legal department's contact info on 8/20 and were told to email our questions about the offer to *** because she was in a meeting and she would forward to legal which would then give us their contact info. That did not happen. We have now (8/25) been told she is on vacation for the week and the receptionist stated company policy prevented him from finding and contacting any senior staff. The receptionist yesterday said *** was not in. Character Count Insufficient to Fully Describe Problem

I used hire-a-helper to hire a moving company to move my house into a pod
I used hire-a-helper to hire a moving company to move my house into a pod. I am VERY much a type A personality so I have every single email logged and tracked between me and *** the owner of the company. The company who was hired was All-Star Movers which in itself is quite an impressive name and quite the lie since the employees broke my kitchen table. They should be called D List Movers or 'We Break It You Get Stuck Dealing With Our Lies Movers' and trust me *** at Hire-A-Helper is 100% a part of this crime. *** will say he is just a middle man but he is a part of the scheme. I was told after my table was broken from the gentleman in charge '***' to call *** who would open and file a claim for me to be paid for my Kitchen table. I called *** immediately and sent him all the photo's of the broken table. At that point the movers put the broken table at the back of the POD. My father asked the movers if they should maybe wait and leave the table out in case we needed to have the table for reference to which we were told no. No one called me back. I kept calling *** and eventually when he answered he told me that he had nothing to do with the claim but would talk to *** for me. Days past and *** never called back of course. I finally reached out again and *** stated: "I spoke with *** he explained what transpired. I saw no reason to get involved with your dispute with his company. He gave a recommendation, you did not follow it." The thing I was told to do was to reach out to *** which I did do. Please remember I have everything documented and there were three others around while '*** told me on speakerphone that *** would process the claim for my kitchen table. I told *** that I would give him until today Monday November 9th to get back to me with more information but yet again he choose to ignore me because he is a fraud and a thief. I would highly recommend NOT using his company he WILL rip you off. I want the cost of my kitchen table refunded.
