I leased a 2024 Honda Civic in October 2024. Someone hit the car while it was parked four days later, and it was taken to an autobody shop. The autobody shop could not diagnose all the issues, so they brought it to Burns Honda on December 26th. On December 29th, Burns Honda said we needed a new control panel and informed us on January 4th the part is on backorder. The part does not have an ETA. Honda has not provided us with alternative vehicle options or financial options and we want to end the lease. Additional details below: ~We are moving to a new state in one month. We informed Honda headquarters but they said that does not change anything. ~We asked if Honda could transport our car to our new location once the repair is made. They said no. ~We asked if Honda could provide a loaner car or pause our lease payments, and they said no. ~We asked if we could terminate the lease early. We were told by Honda Financial that it would cost about $900 plus the cost of the inspection. However, Honda Financial told us the inspection cannot be done on a car waiting for a repair. They also told us they don't know how much we would have to pay post-inspection. So if we terminate the lease we will not find out how much we are billed until later. ~Honda Financial has not been able to assist us properly. Three times we were told we would be charged $900 for termination, and twice we were told $22,000. Finally we confirmed $900 and went to fill the paperwork out. Afterwards, we were called stating they were unable to terminate the lease because they cannot do that without an inspection but they will not do the inspection until the car is repaired. We were told twice we could schedule an inspection, but then were told the inspection cannot be scheduled until the repair is complete. Further, we were told different information as to who can authorize the inspection. Then we were told we have to call a third party to schedule an inspection, but neglected to inform us that Honda Financial needs to approve an inspection, which they did not. We have been on the phone for weeks receiving different answers. We want to be able to stop paying the lease considering Honda Headquarters and Honda Financial have not offered reasonable solutions for our situation.
Claimed loss: $280 x 2 and counting, + car insurance costs
Desired outcome: I would like to be able to terminate my lease
