Hotel reservation service
I accidentally booked a hotel twice (once back in October and again in March) I had forgotten that I booked the hotel. When I did it in March, I was charged the full amount for the hotel, which I thought was odd because I thought I was using the hotel's website. Once I got the email confirmation I realized I used a 3rd party vendor. I called the same day to cancel & they told me they can cancel but I won't get a refund, they have a no refund policy. I am currently working with my credit card company to get the charge reversed as I feel like I was scammed.
Desired outcome: I want my money refunded! Their reservation is $440 more than the one I originally booked. I thought I was using the hotel website and NEVER book through a 3rd party.
Exorbitant fees
Hotelvalues.com charges excessive service fees and says it is a estimate for taxes, cleaning charges, and booking fees. For a one night stay at a Holiday Inn Express Antrim they added €65 service fee! The website doesn't say you left the hotel website and went to a 3rd party
Hotelvalues.com definition :
"What are Tax Recovery Charges & Service Fees?
This charge includes the estimated amount we pay the hotel for occupancy related taxes owed by the hotel and any amounts charged to us for resort fees, cleaning fees, and other fees. The balance of the charge is a fee we, the hotel supplier and/or the website you booked on, retain as part of the compensation for our and/or their services which varies based on factors such as location, the amount, and how you booked."
It leaves a horrible taste in my mouth as my stay was for a funeral.
Desired outcome: Refund of the €65.
Hotel
On March 30, 2022, I made a reservation with LaQuinta, or so I thought, but it was actually through Hotelvalues.com. The reservation was for a three night stay in Dallas and the total rate was $309. But, I later learned that they added additional fees and taxes of approximately $169, which was virtually all pure profit.
I believe that Hotel Values scammed me, as they have many other consumers. They designed their website to look exactly like LaQuinta's and to dupe customers into booking with them. I found out when we arrived at the LaQuinta Hotel that we had booked through a third party and were paying almost twice the hotel charges that we would have paid had we booked through LaQuinta.
Desired outcome: We should receive a refund of $200-$250.
Hotel reservation - mistake made but no refund
I made a reservation online and mistakenly selected an incorrect checkout date. The company will not change it without a cancellation fee equal to '1 night's stay.'
They state this is the hotel's policy but it is not.
Calls to customer service were sent to reservations and each stated they could not help me, other than cancelling the entire reservation and rebooking for the correct dates - and charging me one night room rate.
Desired outcome: Refund $144.00 for the one night stay charge.
Charged my credit card for hotel night when I never click on "confirm transaction"
I was looking for a room at the Hilton. I realized I wasnt on the right website as after I entered my credit card number, I saw the amount they were going to charge me wasn't the price I clicked on, and almost double the price. I NEVER click on confirm transaction, and I left the web site. To my dismay, my credit card was charged and I received a confirmation at my email address. I immediatly phoned the US toll-free [protected] International1 [protected] and telling them that I wanted my money as I never clicked confirm transaction. The entire time I thought I was talking to Hilton Groups, as I was telling them I was a Honor member with HIlton. They never mentioned they were not the Hilton. The call went super agressive. I had my IT deparment retracing my history and indeed the confirm transaction could NOT be authentified. In this case, this is thief and fraud. I am amazed that Hilton could be associated with such a third party, because I have learned that hotels are making deals with third party booking company. that money was stolen from me.
Desired outcome: I want my money back
Hotel charges
I booked a room on line on 4/9 I realized after confirmation that it wasn't actually holiday inn express website like I thought it was. It was a 3rd party hotel values.
I called them 10 minutes after I realized what I did.
They absolutely refused to cancel and refund my money back to me
Saying hotel policy.
Untrue when the hotel was willing to work with me.
They absolutely ripped me off
Want to get my money back...
Desired outcome: Want my refund
I didn't book here
I was on the Holiday Inn secure website to book a room for 4/08/22. I chose my room and checked out. I thought I didn't get a confirmation number and searched through my emails to find something from a company I have never heard of, Hotel Values. Not only did I not deal with them, but they had me at Holiday Inn in Logan, WV when the only hotel I booked for that day was Holiday Inn in Lewisville, TX.
Desired outcome: Money back
Hotel reservation
I searched for the specific hotel I was needing and thought I was on the Hampton Hotel's website, but I was actually under hotelvalues.com (it said guestreservations.com/hampton-inn). My mistake. The room rate doesn't matter cause they will charge extra services fees that take that room rate up $50 or more a night. I called 2 days after, since I booked for someone else, and they won't cancel or refund. They say it's based on Hotel policy, but the hotel will refund.
Desired outcome: Full refund

This is a network of fraudulent travel booking sites. The above links describes how the scam operates. I plan to organize a class action, and urge victims to report this web site network - hotelvalues.com and guest reservations - to law enforcement.
Hotelvalues.com is part of a fraudulent network designed specifically to confuse and trick consumers. There is an article that describes clearly how the scam performs. Hotelvalues.com is tied to another site called guest reservations.com. The scam at its core uses SEO and tricks potential travelers into thinking that they are visiting the web site of a hotel they are searching for. Instead, they are on the site of a third party scam site. Hotelvalues, then, charges you an insane amount of money (up to 1/2) of your total booking fee. https://www.usatoday.com/story/travel/advice/2020/02/28/worst-error-you-can-make-when-booking-travel-reservations/4857002002/
I strongly urge those who fall victim to this criminal enterprise to report their experience to US Attorney AUSA, FBI, and FTC. I plan to put together a class action.
Hotel reservation
March 24th 2022
I thought I was booking dierctly with kahler inn and suites!
They are scammers over charged and supose to be free cancelation, no they dont wont answer my calls or email.. They were very rude, would not lety me speak to a supervisor, they are very deceitful.. Hotelvalues.com I have never be treated so badly, stay clear of this company.
Desired outcome: i want the 20 percent refund they said they would give , $113.84
Was not aware my reservation was through this site. Very shady. Now, I called and they either don't recognize my number Or they can't locate it. It only took them 24 hours to charge my entire reservation. I chose the "refunfable rate". This is a SCAM
Reservations
Was looking to book a room at Wyndham hotel near Mass General hospital. Searched specifically for that hotel and clicked on the first result that came up and looked like the hotel's website. The home page also looked like the hotel's website. I didn't even check the refund policy because I was sure I was booking directly with Wyndham, who offer special rates for Mass General patients. Five minutes after booking I checked the email and realized that the booking was with a fishing website and tried to call and cancel. Even pleaded the case by mentioning that the family was traveling with disabled child for a surgery. Received a very cold NO. Unethical and dishonest company. Pose as a hotel site, then charge you more and would not refund. Quite rude representatives too.
Refund not received
Dec 2021 made reservation for Feb 24 - Feb 27 on what I thought was the Hilton, Keller Town Center, Keller, Tx. On Feb 24 our flight from GRR to Dallas Fort Worth TX was cancelled due to ice storm in Texas. Delta refunded airfare as no other flights were available until after our conference was over. I called the Hotel number that was included on my Google Calendar Reservation and cancelled the reservation. After 10 days and not receiving a refund I called them and that is when I found out my reservation had been through a 3rd party. I called hotelvalues.com on there 1-800 # and was told it was to late to cancel. I continued to tell them that I did call on Feb 24 and cancel and they said no I did not. It was very confusing since the number to call was directly to the hotel. After many emails and phone calls hotelvalues.com requested a letter from Delta confirming cancellation of our flight and a letter from Hilton confirm that I had called them on Feb 24 and cancelled as soon as I had found out there were not outgoing flights to Dallas Fort Worth Airport.
I have lots of documentation from Delta & Hilton Hotel verifying my cancellation and approval of penalty waiver. I don't know what more I could possibly provide to them. I have a lot of supporting documentation but we live in the country and am unable to upload them to this complaint. If you have a fax number or email address I can forward every supporting evidence to you.
Delta Corporate, Angie Flores [protected]
Hilton Hotel, Jennifer Scott, General Manager or Colleen Buford Corporate Manager [protected]
Desired outcome: A full refund since I did contact the number as listed in my google calendar confirmation immediately after flight was cancelled and in no way was I aware that a 3rd party was ever involved until a refund had not been issued.
Hotel reservation
I went to the internet to book a reservatio for Days Inn which was described on the internet web page. I thought this was a direct number for the hotel's reservation. I made the online reservation staying for 3 nights for a total of $557 US currency, was never told as I am Canadian and do not need to make a reservation through an American site for a Canadian city. I requested a cancelation and return of my money and was told that this was nonrefundable. I have been on hold and arguing with them for over 2 hours and we’re unwilling to work with me. This seems to be illegal and certainly is considered on my part to be a fraudulent company. I firmly believe that the attorney general shiould investigate this company's practices. I cannot afford to just throw away money which I have worked so hard for.
Hotel reservations
Very unethical company. Thought I was using the hotel site. It wasn't they somehow attach themselves to the site It is a third party reservation site. They reservation was accidentally booked for the wrong date by a day. I immediately called to have it changed to the next day. They would not change it nor cancel it. Saying it was the motels cancellation policy. I contacted the motel and it is not thier policy it is hotelvalue.com Horrible! horiible site. Beware!
Desired outcome: I wish someone could put them out of business totally. But would settle for a refund
Hotel reservations
The same thing happened to me. I booked online thinking it was the hotels website. I had to extend my stay for one more night. I booked for tonight. I got to the hotel and they told me they didn't have me booked for tonight instead for the 31st! The hotel staff informed me that I must have booked online with a third party. I looked at my confirmation and the date booked is for March 31st! I'm asking for my money back because I didn't book for March 31st. The hotel staff where I'm staying informed me to stand my ground to not give up. They will try to get you to talk to the hotel manager and for them to approve the cancellation because then they can charge the hotel for commissions. I've been on this call now for an hour and sixteen mins and holding. They want you to hang up so they can keep your money. This is illegal, I can't believe that they can just scam people! They take the hotels logo and post to make people think they are booking on the hotels site. Be very careful. I won't make this mistake again. Thieves!
Desired outcome: I want a full refund!
Cancellation
I booked a room through this group unknowingly. It was for the Holiday In at Chester Racecourse for the 27th March to the 30th. Booking Reference R3231689549. I then contracted COVID and needed to cancel the booking, which the booking confirmation said was possible. It soon became clear that this was impossible, you cannot reply to the email, the phone number supplied does not work and the hotel cannot cancel the booking. I lost £350.
Beware, do not use HotelValues
Desired outcome: I get my money back
Hotel reservations
I went to the internet to book a reservation. I wanted to book a particular hotel which was described on the internet web page. I thought this was a direct number for the hotel's reservation. I made the online reservation staying for two nights for a total of $293. Within 30 minutes I was notified by my credit card company that I was already charged for a total of $434.46. I contacted the number asking why my account was charged for a reservation that was two months away, and the agent indicated this was a prepaid reservation company. I requested a cancelation and return of my money and was told that this was nonrefundable. This seems to be illegal and certainly is considered on my part to be a fraudulent company. In addition, the total of $434.46 included a nonrefundable service fee of $141.46 which was not explained when I initially made the reservation. I have never heard of this. I contacted my credit card company and advised of this situation. I firmly believe that the attorney general shiould investigate this company's practices. I cannot afford to just throw away money which I have worked so hard for.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Can we group together and file a lawsuit against this company. This is a fraudulent practice and has to be stopped immediately.
Desired outcome: A total refund is expected. In addition we need to see that others are not going through this same issue in the future. I believe we should have the attorney general investigate.
Same EXACT thing happened to me tonight!
I booked a reservation on the hotel website for 3 nights next week, but then received a message that the reservation had been booked for tonight! I called the number to cancel the reservation for tonight and explain that the dates had some how been changed during the booming process. The “customer service agent” said the booking was no -refundable. I called the hotel directly and the manager advised me that the reservation was showing under “Expedia.com” and I had to call and cancel the reservation through Expedia which he would approve when they requested the cancellation. I called the 3rd party reservation company back (hotelsvalue.com deguised as Expedia or Booking.com) - I was on the phone with an agent for 28 minutes as she attempted to contact “their contact to the hotel “(but not the hotel directly” 🤔) - then she said I needed to call back in 15 minutes b/c they were unable to contact the vendor to cancel !
When I questioned that - she hung up on me!
This is a scam that hacks into hotel websites when people make reservations online. I called the hotel and they had my original reservation through their website AND the reservation made through hotelvalues.com - which they could not refund because the reservation wasn’t made through them - therefore they didn’t have the money to refund. They were aware of recent “problematic reservations “ reported by hotel guests and were starting to look into the situation. Hotelvalues.com shows up as Expedia or Booking on the hotel’s platform!
I am contacting my credit card company in the morning and reporting cc scam - the hotel manager agreed to contact my cc co as well if needed.
Hotel Reservation
I thought I was booking $85 room at Ashley Suites, Lincoln City Oregon and it turns out to be hotelvalues.com with a $43 Tax Recovery charge. No easy to contact them or get it removed. A real scam. I am out a lot of money.
Details Room reserved Mar 15,2022 to Mar16, 2022.
Desired outcome: Refund of $43
cancellation policy
i booked a room on the 16th of march 2022 and had to cancel on the 17th,
when i cancelled they said non refundable, needed to be cancelled by the 14th of march 2022. asked how that would physically be possible,,i cant understand when with in 28 hours ,
Desired outcome: non resolved, would like $ back
Hotel reservations scam and excessive charges!
After clicking on what appeared to be the Hilton's web address, I was connected to this third party's website. Not aware I had been rerouted I made a reservation which turns out is non-refundable at a "discount" to the normal rate that allows cancelation. Turns out this non refundable rate is actually over $30 per night more expensive than if I had reserved through Hilton and used the standard rate with cancellation privileges.
Hotelvalues charged $68.38 of fees on top of a $145.99 per night stay = $214.37
If I gone through Hilton the charge = $159.00 + 21.47 = $180.47
DO NOT RESERVE OR PURCHASE ANY ROOMS THROUGH Hotelvalues They are a SCAM!
Desired outcome: Refund of my credit card charge
Hotel reservations
Guest Reservations/Hotelvalues.com portrays itself online as a reservation through the first party hotel company. I booked through their company for La Quinta Summerlin Tech, Las Vegas on March 7, 2022 and had to cancel my reservation, which I did the same day, just shortly after I made the reservation. The hotel I unknowingly booked through them, La Quinta, has a cancelation policy of: "Cancel before 6PM day of arrival to avoid a 1 night charge plus applicable tax.", and I have stayed at La Quinta hotels on numerous occasions in multiple cities and am familiar with their cancelation. Guest Reservations/Hotelvalues.com charged my credit card, so I went to the email confirmation and their confirmation states that the cancelation policy is the hotel policy: non-refundable. So Guest Reservations/Hotelvalues.com is misrepresenting the hotel's policy and charged my card. To my dismay I did a search on this company and have found that there are a great many reviews/complaints about this company being a scam, fraudulent and many other problems!
I have included a screenshot of the language for cancelation this company uses and a screenshot of the cancellation policy for La Quinta Summerlin Tech, Las Vegas.
Beware of booking through this company! Take care to make sure that you are on the hotel's actual website and not this company's! When searching for hotel's this site is often the first listed and seems like it is the guest reservation for the actual hotel, not and outside party!
Desired outcome: Refund for the charge to my credit card.
