HotelValues Hotel booking

We booked a room in Brisbane on 25/03/2022 for one night on the 1st of March. We were unaware that we had been redirected away from the hotel website and were booking through a third party. When unprecedented flooding on 28/02 meant we couldn't travel, we called the hotel to cancel. This is when we found out we had booked through Hotel Values. I was unable to contact Hotel Values by email or telephone, but could cancel the booking online. We then found out we were unable to receive a refund. This company is a complete scam.

They also added additional costs to the original booking, we'd like to know what these costs were.

Desired outcome: We would like a refund.

Customer service

With reference to booking ref #CF-ZXT58V from hotelvalues.com

We are requesting a credit direct to our bank for the (tax recovery charges and service fees ) of AU $ 102.61

When making our booking we did not expect to have to pay recovery charges and service fees of AU $ 102.61 the price of the room was $258.33 and on anything other occasions when we have booked that includes the service fees

The amount of AU$360.94 for a normal room we believe excessive and request a refund

HotelValues Fraudulent reservation

I went to the HI Express website on March 6, 2022 and reserved a room online. Only after completing the reservation and receiving confirmation did I see that a 3'rd party (hotelvalues.com) had intercepted the transaction and charged my card for the entire stay and added ridiculous taxes, fees, other charges and a no refund policy. I called customer care immediately to cancel the reservation, they were of no help and I was basically told I was responsible for the charges. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told all were busy but one would call me back. I never got call back. HI Express has no record of my reservation and I'm out some serious money. Working with my bank to file a complaint and get my money back. If you need a reservation either call the hotel directly or get another pair of eyes to look at the reservation to try and spot anything suspicious.

Same thing happened to my boyfriend. Hotel Values charges $100 service fee per night when he booked a two-night stay (total $200 service fee!) He then decided to cancel because he thought he was booking directly with the hotel and not a scam site that rips you off. He was then charged a large cancellation fee. I recommend you don't do business with Hotel Values. They are a company who rips you off. As an alternative, telephone hotels directly, or I have had success with priceline.com. With priceline, I like the fact you can bid on a hotel room within a region. I have managed to get some great deals this way. Also, they have a 'book now' option with some decent sales. Good luck!

HotelValues Online booking

I thought I was booking directly through the hotel website, however this third party site scammed me with excessive fees and a non refundable reservation fee. The customer service rep will not cancel the reservation because of the hidden non-refundable statement. They will not tell me exactly how much they are charging me in fees and will not let me speak with a supervisor. This is an utter scam!

Desired outcome: Full refund and business penalties

HotelValues Hotel Additional Fees after confirming booking, refusal to refund

I went to book a hotel and the site stated the room was $228. AFTER confirming payment, an additional 131.64 was added to the charge. They refused to refund my money after I cancelled and also refused to still provide me with the room because I cancelled. I called customer service and got no where. HORRIBLE company- do NOT book with them ever!

Desired outcome: Refund

HotelValues Unethical business practices

Holiday Inn Tullahoma, TN reservation number #R3061456964 I made a reservation on my phone mistaking this for the Holiday in site. There wasn't any mention of membership and fees. There wasn't a breakdown or a total for the weekend until I put in all of my information and executed the purchase. When I received my confirmation email it was for $858.78! I was livid. We called the customer service where they were no help. The representative we spoke with (Rose) was unapologetic and made it out to be my fault. They also will not let you talk to a manager either. We attempted to replicate the reservation to see all of the detail she claimed "I was aware of" on the page but dismissed the details, but no luck. They (Rose) said they can not cancel the reservation because Holiday Inn would not let them. That was confirmed to be a lie because we were on the phone with that Holiday Inn at the same time. Rose was aware of that but un-phased. The end result was I have a two day reservation for almost $900. They are lyres and scam artists. I am not done with these people.

Desired outcome: I want a refund.

HotelValues Reservation

We booked a room for 2 nights to celebrate my son's birthday. Upon reading the confirmation email later I see we are being charged a "Tax Recovery and Services Fee". This amounted to almost $200.00 onto of my agreed rate. This is observed. The reason we booked was for a pool that we later found out it was undergoing maintenance and closed for the day. This after I called last night for Pool hours. The guest services should have mentioned this maintenance at that time!

Desired outcome: We would like this fee refunded as well as some compensation for the pool issue.

HotelValues Overcharged for room ref #R3145800249

Mistakenly thought I had gone to the Travelodge website in the UK, unfortunately wound up on this site instead. Looked like I was getting an absolute bargain for 3 nights in York Central for £207, no indication on that page or the next page asking for details that this was only for one night, then got charged £622.32.

Spoke to both Travelodge and my bank and neither can do anything as its a 3rd party website and I agreed to the T's & C's when clicking submit.

Avoid at all costs

Desired outcome: Please refund full amount

HotelValues Reservations to water park (the kartrite)

We tried to reserve one night at the Kartrite Water Park and we got scammed by a company called hotelvalues.com. We didn't realize we weren't booking directly through the hotel and got hit with a 160$ reservation fee and a much higher rate than the normal hotel rate. When we tried to cancel hotelvalues.com gave us the run around and lied about not being able to cancel the reservation. We just want our money back and want to help other people from getting scammed by these criminals.

Desired outcome: To get my money refunded

HotelValues Cancellation policy

I booked a two night stay at a hotel. I knew the name of the hotel, and just googled it and booked. It turned out to be a third party booking.

As it came close to the time to go across the border, I didn't feel well, assumed it was Covid (it wasn't) and cancelled. I still got charged the full amount for the two nights stay. I contacted this company and they said they were just abiding by the hotels policy, that you couldn't cancel a reservation. I called the hotel, and they said as long as you cancel with 24 hours notice, you wouldn't be charged. They also said they hadn't received any money from the third party or me. The hotel told me that the third party should call the hotel and they would explain their policy.

Two very frustrating phone calls later, the third party told me they were just abiding by the hotel rules (not true). They kept all my money.

I understand that perhaps my refund would be minus some kind of service charge, but to keep the whole charge for the two nights is highway robbery.

Do not deal with this company. It is totally fraudulent. You are far better off booking right with the hotel.

Desired outcome: A portion of my money back, minus service charges (which were outrageous, btw).

HotelValues Hotel reservations

Hotel Values.com is a scam and I can not believe they are allowed to operate. I also can not believe that CIti corp, my credit card company is allowing my disputed transaction more time for these thieves to respond.

Hotel Values is a modern day thief and they are allowed to steal from innocent consumers by capturing credit card information through weak cyber security and charging consumers credit cards for hotel stays that are immediately cancelled once the fraud is discovered.

We were in Steamboat Springs over the Christmas Holiday and my husband had a ski accident and we had to extend our stay in Steamboat due his hospitalization. I was frantically trying to book a hotel room on 12.29 in an over crowded city and was booking on the Holiday Inn site. Before I could complete my booking with Holiday Inn I received a pop up that my reservation was booked with "Hotel Guest Services." I immediately called to cancel and was put on hold for over 30 minutes. When I finally spoke to a representative of Hotel Values.com I was told that the reservations could not be canceled because I missed the cancelation date of 12.26, even though the reservation was made on 12.28.

I then called the Holiday Inn in Steamboat and they told me that they could see the cancellation on their end and that Hotel Values.com was not charged.

After numerous phone calls with Hotel Values who will not pick up my call and my credit card company, I am still being charged $474 on my credit card for theft. I am astonished that this type of internet theft is allowed to happen.

Desired outcome: reversal of $474 charge on my credit card

HotelValues Hotel reservation

I recently made a hotel reservation, believing I was on the Doubletree hotel web site in Pasadena, Ca.
As it turned out, only a few days later, I needed to cancel. I called directly to the hotel and was told, I booked with a third party, which I was very certain, I did not. I was told "getaroom.com". All I wanted was a refund on my cc. Was told they don't do that, they refund only to bank accts! I was to download an app, open my bank acct and stay on the line. After 30 minutes I ended the call, delete the app and called my bank! Later that day, I tried to cancel, this time it was all automated. Upon looking more closely at the emails, I see they have a no refund policy! Another thing I didn't realize while making the booking or I certainly would not have made it! The confirmation email and the cancelled email came from hotel values.com
To date I have not received a refund on my cc. Go directly to the hotel to make a booking!

HotelValues Hotel reservation fees & cancellation policy

Do not use HotelValues.com. My wife recently booked a three night stay at a hotel in Gulfport, Mississippi. An hour after booking, we attempted to cancel the reservation for the middle of March 2022.

When we received our email confirmation, we noticed a booking fee that we exceeded the value of a one night fee at the hotel, as well as excessive tax "conversion" charges. All in all, these fees accounted for over 30% of the total amount for a 3 night stay.

When we attempted to cancel, they said it's not refundable, even though that was never mentioned, similar to the aforementioned fees. They claim to follow the hotel policy on cancellation.

We contacted the hotel and they laughed. They said no such policy exists.

In conclusion, please to do use this service. The reviews you see tell a very similar story. This is a horrible, unethical business that makes money through fraud and mid-dealing.

I called a phone number thinking that I was booking directly through Wyndham. Apparently, this number was for Hotelvalues.com. They charged me $40 in fees over the Wyndham price. I didn't realize this until checkout. When I questioned it, I was told that I need to take it up with HotelValues.com. Now I see they are a scam, so beware ..

HotelValues Cancellation policy

I recently booked a hotel through Hotelvalue. Unfortunately a member of my traveling party was hospitalized and we had to cancel our reservation.
Hotelvalues refused to issue a refund for my reservation. Members of my traveling party booked directly through the hotel and was able to cancel their reservation without charge.
I made several attempts to get them to understand the circumstances of my cancellation but they refused to change their policy.
Customer service like this should not be permitted and I encourage everyone to avoid 3rd party reservation services.

Desired outcome: Refund requested
