online retail purchase
Absolutely the pits.
I have been looking at an item, put it in my cart.
Got an offer from houzz.com - went to purchase the items, and the price had changed.
Email offer said 48 hours, but Houzz Customer "No" Service said the "vendor changed the
price" and they could not do anything. ( Mike and Kiera ) ... Listen Houzz, you send out an offer, you honor the offer. This was a deliberate BAIT AND SWITCH.
Also for two days - when I asked to speak to a supervisor - they said..." they went home, will be back tomorrow" ...Next Day " they are in a meeting ".
Maybe they are in a meeting to learn customer service skills that would be a good thing.

houzz/poor service outstanding - refund for $500
Paid FedEX directly to arrange a return of a vanity to Houzz. It was insured for $500. It arrived 4/3/18 to their Portland OR warehouse. I was notified on 4/12/18 it was received successfully and I could expect a return in 3-5 days. Then a few days later they said it was damaged & I would have to file a claim with the delivery service. Very strange. In order to file a claim with FedEX, Houzz needs to provide details of damages. They have provided nothing. The deadline to submit the claim to FedEX is 4/23/18. I am not sure how to get my refund as a result. without Houzz cooperation. Thank you for your help! Live the look, however, "bead fell with crystal and made a dent in table. Called to see if I could be sent a extra string of beads for repair. I was surprised in my effort. I called and it is in possible to reach anyone. I was sent to a voice mail, that cut out before a message was able to be given. Very poor service. I would hesitate on next purchase.
lucent pendant light no.302b, gray, brushed nickel hardware
I looked at the above pendant light. I put them in my cart. You sent me an email saying "sale ends on monday". So, I went out of town for easter. I'm back home now. It's sunday afternoon - 3:38 p. M.
I went into your site and to my surprise, you site said: these lights are now $118.13.
What the heck happened to the sale ends on monday? I figured I had time to go through the check out process after going away for easter!
They were $112 on saturday. Again, you said sale ends monday! Today is sunday and the sale is off. Why?

rita silver rep: terrible demeanor.
Contacted our business for information, but was very rude and short tempered when attempting to explain how our business and design process works. She finished the call with, "well then the customer just isn't going to buy this piece." I thanked her and wished her a great day. Unnecessarily rude, and went out of her way to make sure she knew she would not help sell our piece. Worst Houzz rep experience to date.
auto-renewing contracts
I purchased Houzz's Pro Plus "upgrade" for my business profile in March 2017 at $200 per month for 12 months, with a 1-month discount effective in 30 days. I was charged the full amount until I notified Houzz in Sept 2017, requesting to cancel the agreement since they had been in breach since May 2017. Houzz refused the cancellation, but credited the $200 within the next 2 months.
The Pro Plus upgrade was verbally sold as a lead generator. Houzz was paid $2200 over the last 12 months for 1 viable lead ( which did not solidify) and a few scam inquiries. Very poor return on investment which I have requested to NOT AUTO-RENEW. I followed the requirements: sent notice of cancellation of contract to both mailing addresses noted in contract and emailed to legal @ houzz.com, to be effective within 30 days prior to the AUTO-RENEWAL date of March 2018.
Of the 3 notices sent, one certified letter I sent to the Houzz address as stated in the contract for receiving such "notice" came back as "not deliverable"; no acknowledgement of the email sent to their legal department has been sent; one signature card was returned from their Palo Alto address. I want Houzz to acknowledge and agree that my Pro Plus account will NOT be auto-renewed, will be cancelled, and my credit card will not be charged after the final payment of $200 in Feb 2018.
If Houzz continues charging the monthly fee after the cancellation date of March 2018, I will be forced to close the credit card I was required to provide for their auto-billing. I have notified the credit card company of this problem but they say they cannot cease the auto-billing.
Buyer Beware of Houzz and its practices toward business owners.
Houzz has not continued my "Pro-Plus" renewal, after several phone calls and I sent a certified letter of formal cancellation well in advance of the auto-renew date.
I was also a 'houzz pro' for a year in the UK. Total costs: over £3k. Income generated: £0. I don't know if I'd go as far as to call it a scam, but it's the least effective and most expensive way to advertise that I've ever used. I also followed their stated procedures for non-renewal and got zero response from them - no acknowledgement at all. I cancelled the payments with my bank after the final contracted sum, and they haven't been in touch since, thankfully. I am still receiving their (useless) 'project leads' though. They seem pretty hopelessly disorganized.
personal cell phone number displaying in houzz.com in a review
Hello,
This is EiffelFab company's owner. One of your client displayed my personal cell phone number in the picture he provided in his review. There is only one review for our company and that is the one displaying my personal cell phone number in the picture he posted in his review.
I have been receiving numerous calls from people and companies that I don't recognize, I also receive text messages from anonymous senders with horrible contents in their text messages.
Please remove my personal cell phone number from your website.
Thank you.

houzz refuses to post my negative review of a contractor
I tried to post a negative review of a contractor who is listed on their site with sixteen positive reviews. I tend to doubt most of them are legitimate and since the contractor pays to advertise, I believe Houzz protects them. I have read elsewhere on line that people have either had their negative reviews of a company ignored or deleted. I put in two requests to Houzz since I had not heard that they were even processing my review and all I got back was that it was "in queue". Now they are ignoring me altogether. An awful lot of people are going to be scammed by this contractor and they can owe it all to Houzz.
canvas picture falsely reduced
I have been looking at a canvas picture called ‘mile end woods' for the last few weeks. I was considering buying it because I thought it was so lovely but I wanted to wait in case it went in the sale. I could not believe it today when I saw it advertised for double the price it has been advertised for the last few weeks with the false misleading and deceptive guideline that it is now half price ! When it is in fact higher now than the price advertised for in the last few weeks! Please explain why you are misleading people in this way? I am aghast and very disappointed.
I await your comments.

Sarah
bar stools
Buyer Be Aware. Buy from (most likely through) HOUZZ at your own risk.
Ordered 3 Barstool, one was defective and have spent the last several days trying to explain via annonymous emails, the simple issue of improperly assembled hydraulic shaft. As an engineer I recognize a bad assembly when I see it. Based on my experience so far with HOUZZ, they may be trying to wear me out and give-up on getting the chair fixed or refund. I've never experienced this kind of idiotic run-around with my other online purchase.
Even allowing for some errors and issues involved in online transactions, this is clearly over the top, and I hope to find-out why.
nothing positive to say
My complaint is very typical and not new. Many of their customers had the same situation, but I never thought I would be in their shoes. And I must say there's nothing to be excited about, it makes me feel terrible.
I ordered two chairs from them and was immediately charged. Two weeks later I found out my order was canceled for one very famous reason: the items were out of stock. I was notified too late and I think they had to ask me whether I'd like to cancel it or not before doing this by themselves.
Now I'm trying to figure out how to get my money back and having a hard time because they ignore my requests.
hudson velvet king sleigh bed
I ordered the Hudson King Velvet sleigh bed on 9/27/17 and received it 10/10/17 damaged. I refused the delivery and immediately contacted customer service. I was advised a new bed would be sent and to date I have not received my bed. I lost all my belongings due to Harvey and your delivery vendors have the worst customer service! This was not what I expected for a furniture company that advertising lower prices with great service. I was told I would be refunded my money however it is a very sad day when organizations value the dollar more than they do customer satisfaction. I never got a delivery date confirmed and the bed has been sitting in the warehouse since 10/25/17. I even called the receiving vender to confirm this. All in all my experience with Houzz isn't one I want to remember and I caution all buyers.
procom dual fuel ventless fireplace not shipped complete.
This is in reference to order number [protected] ordered on 10/07/17 delivered October 17. Through Houzz. Model FBNSD32RT
The unit arrived with no remote control or any packet of information including owners manual or installation manual.
I contacted customer service immediately after almost a 45 minute wait and was assured the items would be shipped out immediately.
To date, no remote.
Would you please let me know where we stand with shipment. I cannot continue to spend hours waiting for their customer service. They also did not respond to email.

did not receive full refund for my purchase from plush rugs
I ordered (1) Kaleen - Helena -3206 4x6 rug for $314.40 on Aug 28, 2017.
ORDER # [protected]
The rug did not work for me and, on Sept 7, I returned it UPS in it's original packaging (no damage or wear and tear).
Today is 10/17 and I have not received credit for the return. I called Houzz and the representative was helpful. She contacted Plush Rugs and they told her that I would only be receiving a $270 refund! So I lost $100 on this order between the return shipping fees ($50) and the extra $40 that won't be refunded by the rug company.
I won't be ordering through Houzz again!
phony website
Houzz is a fake.I wrote a legitimate review of a company I used to remodel my kitchen that Houzz gave 5* to.
They were horrible. The didn't know what they were doing from installing my new dishwasher to absolutely ruining the back-splash they installed. The touchup work was shoddy and the granite work was terrible. These were not professionals.
I never saw my review of the company after submitting it to Houzz, so I am convinced that companies pay Houzz and they only post the 5* reviews.
Unfortunately Yelp is not better. In fact Yelp deleted my account after I posted an unfavorable review about this construction company.
chair
Please be careful ordering from this site. Make sure to check the return policy before ordering. In my case I ordered a chair, a heavy chair. The 100% return policy cost me 60.00 of the 180.00 I spent to order it. Worst experience I have ever had with a order on line. Took me three weeks just to find out who the seller is. Then I was told only a Houzz rep. can speak with them. The whole experience feels shady and wrong. At first I was excited to start ordering from them. Never again will I use them because of my return experience. It's cost me a third of the money I spent to return and I have nothing to show for it. Good luck to anyone trying to get the name of the company that sold you a item.
It's like a secret, I have a very bad feeling with them. I would not recommend this site to much of the unknown .
0 customer service
I made an order and paid for a faster delivery. Everything was ok while I was ordering. But after I ordered I got an email with a notification that my item is out of stock and they offered me a replacement. I wonder why would I need your replacement? I chose a definite item and I want it, not another one. Plus it was a huge lie because I checked the website and my items were still in stock. Called them to ask what it was, why it was in stock.
They claimed a different thing trying to prove me I was wrong. I said I want to cancel, they said I have to wait for their confirmation email.
Guess what? Nothing was sent to me. No email, no confirmation. They are silent and don't pick up the phone.
How wonderful :(
they don't care
I had problems with online payment through their website when tried to buy several items. I thought that oh well, not sure I need to order this item online, so I went to the nearest store and bought a similar item. In a month the Houzz called me and said that they need to know when they can deliver. I was like huh? Deliver what? Who are you, guys? I don't need this, so please cancel. They said it was already impossible. Ok then. I got the item. And it took me another month to reach them out because they simply don't answer. Only after 4 weeks I succeed and asked them to pick the item up. They agree, scheduled it and.. disappeared. Nobody has been calling me since then and again I can't reach them.
Disgusting service. Never again.
customer support
Houzz has a lot of items which are actually being sold by a third party. I wrote to cancel an item almost immediately after ordering it, but as Houzz's website states, they will respond in "three to five days". By the time they managed to have the actual vendor contact me, the item had been shipped. The vendor states I have to pay for return shipping, and it is a very heavy and large rug. If Houzz had decent customer service, this never would have happened. I will never purchase from them again.
I absolutely agree. I was lucky that I didn't go through with my purchase and avoided a big headache.
Would never buy from them. Too many good online companies to choose from.
I too had disappointing experience! I shopped once and will never use houzz again. My experience demonstrates that houzz is not a customer centered organization, but rather hides under layers of inadequately authorized staff that have a narrow window of service recovery latitude. I recommend looking elsewhere than houzz when shopping. Try AMAZON as their vendors have many similar offerings at comparable or better prices and they back up their customer service with action! My 2 cents.

defective product
I ordered a mid-century modern clock for $80 from Houzz. Turns out it actually came from Bison Office Products. anyway... the clock came and I did not open right away because I was in the middle of a remodel. When I did open the box (-which by the way was perfect. no sign of damage or stress) the clock had 3 bent metal prongs. I notified Houzz and they directed me to Bison Office Products. that's when things got ugly. Bison shut me down hard and fast, as I opened the box outside of their time frame. I understand this but bottom line it was a defective product. (And we are talking a matter of 3-4 weeks. It wasn't months or anything). So I turned back to Houzz who did nothing for me. Not an offer of a partial refund, not a coupon for future purchases. Nothing. Kind of puts you off ordering online. Lesson learned - don't order from Houzz. There are many other online sites I can order from. I just want to get the message out that you are taking a chance on losing money when you order from Houzz. And I would steer as far away from Bison Office Products as you can. The way they handled this situation was almost toxic.
