I.C. System.

My wife received a Call From a Rebecca with I.C. Systems on a Friday, and was informed that a credit card account We had had been sent to them, We wanted to clear this up so My wife asked if we could set up some arrangements. The Lady named Rebecca was nice and had my wife do a short application over the phone, After completing this Rebecca gave us three options for repayment, My wife chose one and made the first down payment over the phone and the balance to be through acceptable monthly payments.

We were glad to finally have this going, However on Wednesday, I get a call from my wife and she is very upset! It seems that I.C. Systems had called again and this time a Marcy called and Rudely told my wife that we had and outstanding balance and we needed to pay the entire amount or receive Legal action! My wife told this Marcy that we had just paid and amount of 150 down and had arrangements with them to pay monthly on the balance, Marcy told my wife that they were not aware of any arrangements with us and it looks like she was refusing to pay! My wife asked her to look at the notes on our account and see who she talked to just that Friday before and see what she had accomplished, Marcy said that She saw our payment and that there were no arrangements, my wife told her that Rebecca did not exist!

Then She told my wife that she was not a good person because she does not pay her bills, During this long Rude Conversation my wife was trying to explain to her that Rebecca had her do an application over the phone, Marcy yelled at her and told her that They do not do applications over the phone and if she's Refusing to pay they will take legal action, And hung up on my Wife. After gathering the information from Friday my Wife called back to talk to someone else using the phone number that she got from Rebecca, This time Yolanda answered and was just as rude as Marcy and with the same story We had no arrangements and we were not cooperating, My wife ask to speak with someone else she said No, then my wife told her that" I'm sorry but I did make these arrangements" She said "don't be sorry to me be sorry to yourself for not paying your bills on time!" then after telling my wife that she was being aggressive she hung up!

After I got home from work I called the number and ext# my Wife got From Rebecca, The Person that does not exist, when the company answered I asked for the EXT# the person said hold on, I then got some girl tell and I told her that I was returning Rebecca's Phone call, The girl told me after putting me on hold that Rebecca was in a meeting and she would return my call later. After waiting for a couple of hours I called back using the same number and asked to be transferred to the EXT# I had, This Guy told me that He was handling this now and give him the information, My mistake. I didn't want to give to much away so I was very reserved on what I told him, He asked me what My intentions were and I told him his name was John Conway that I had the same intentions now as we did on the first call Friday. He said what was that, I told him to tell me, as this should have been on my record. He said I see your payment from Friday but what was I going to do with the balance? I said the same thing we told Rebecca, He told me that There was no Rebecca there and there was only Marcy and Yolanda that talked to my wife and that she was refusing to pay! I told him that I just called and left a message for Rebecca and that someone there told me that she was "in a meeting" busy girl for not existing! " I told him the girl that told me that and asked if they did not exist? He said that the account was now on his desk and there will be no one else. I asked why his Company felt like they had to lie and actually delete from my records what was discussed on Friday? He was smart and said "Why would we Why would we?" he asked what I was going to do I told him I want to call Rebecca and ask her what happened He said If I call back I'll get him all night, He was it. I was not going to go any further with him so I started to get off the phone, He said that he'll just note the account as Refusing to pay and not that on my credit file. So I got his full name his company address and hung up!

I may be wrong but I think its against the law to put wrong or misleading information on anyone's Credit report. And the fact that We were lied too about many things right to our very faces does not make this company trustworthy.

I read what Christopher D. said and I was stunned. Why? Because, they did and are still doing the EXACT same thing to me. Unbelievable. I am unsure of my options at this point, but they are the worst of the worst.

Talk about mistaken identity. I am from Philadelphia, PA. This collection agency called my cell phone regarding a $20 past due payment to Fairview Medical Center, in Minnesota. They were unable to provide for me what the past due amount was for (ie, lab tests, doctors visit). All they could say was the original charge was dated 03/25/07 (they called 12/17/07). The woman (Crystal) was also unable to provide me with contact information regarding the original debtor so that I could call and ask what it is for. She continued to argue with me saying, "Its only $20" (I'm currently unemployed, its Christmas, and I've never been to Minnesota--so why would I pay some one else's medical bill?) She also claimed that they have called me several times and sent letters, however I haven't received a phone call or a letter from any of them. This is ridiculous that they would be harassing me even after I stated I'm from Philadelphia, never been to Minnesota, haven't been to the doctors in two years and I haven't received a phone call or a letter from them. She demanded that I pay and kept asking me if I was refusing to pay, even though I said I want to research this problem and find out what is going on. What a horrible company!

A version of the same thing happened to me. I'm starting to see a pattern. Apparently IC Systems buys identity fraud accounts and then tries to collect on them from the VICTIMS of the original fraud. Keep good records, folks. Save your receipts, get an accordion file, whatever. If something sounds crazy, see if the account was opened using your social security number. You'll have to call the companies/businesses IC System says they are "representing." It's a pain, but it's worth the effort.

I keep receiving phone calls from this company. I do not know who they are and they do not leave messages for whom they are trying to reach. For all I know they are calling the wrong number. I just wish there was some way to stop the calls.

IC Systems should stand for Idiot collectors. I don't know where they get their info. I don't owe them anything but they call day and night. Tonight it was 12:50 am. My terminally ill husband almost fell out of bed the phone scared him so bad. It is always an automated recording yet when I call to find out what this is all about I am on hold forever and never get thru to an idiot. I have no reason for any debt collector to be calling me. The only bill I have that did not get paid was from Prevention magazine that I did not order nor do I want and I have written them stating this. If I ever find out what this nonsense is about and it has to do with Prevention mag. I'll be furious.

IC Systems, Inc. keeps calling our residence harassing us saying that they are looking for Rachel when there is no one by that name that lives here. They accused us of being lairs and raising their voice at us saying that she is there and trying to mentally abuse us into admitting that this person lives here when they do not. Can anything be done about these people who mentally abuse others?

You are in all likelihood a victim of identity fraud. They called me saying I owed money on a telephone account with a number I had never even seen before. Someone had obtained it using my social security number. You can report identity fraud or have it checked out. If it turns out you were a victim of identity fraud, then all this ends, PERIOD.

I.C. System it's geting what they deserve. They're going to be in trouble pretty soon if they keep using false information to collect.

My wife paid them once the total amount they were requesting and now they changed the account number for the same debt and they sent another bill. She has all the paperwork from the first time showing that she has paid the full amount. They are going to get in big trouble, they are doing something so illegal that it's going to be easy to get them. Trust me!

Gary, are you legally separated or legally divorced? I am not sure of the definition of legally separated, it may involve residing apart for a certain number of months, etc. Check this out online. Five years is a long time, I would think that constitutes legal separation whether you are legally divorced or not. Best of luck.

I had a medical bill that went into collections while I was disputing payment with my healthcare provider. Though I explained this several times during attempts to collect the calls continued, which I ignored. Because I was trying to do business with my credit union I was asked to clear the item in order to move forward, which I did. I also requested, at an additional cost, a fax from I.C. System, Inc. giving confirmation that my account was indeed satisfied. After getting verbal confirmation that my payments had definitely cleared, and seeing the transaction on my bank statement, I proceeded to find out where my fax confirmation was. To this minute I have not recieved a fax though time after time I was told that my fax was being sent. Days have passed and still the people there seem to have no sense of integrity, telling me that currently a supervisor has taken responsibility for sending the fax himself. If those in authority can't do what they should I can understand why those under them have no sense of competency. How hard can sending a fax be? It certainly bears lesser conseqeunces that lies! God Help them! God help us!

I recieved a letter that stated I authorized to electronic payments to be made in full on 7/31/09. I got this letter two days ago. I called the original debt collector about this they had no information at all that anything had been resolved. I called ic. this am and got informed that on 7/15/09 at 8pm a man had called in and authorized this and that they had talked to me also. so me being a busy person checked my phone records to confirm I was correct on what I had thought to be true. I was very correct no calls going to or coming from this place on such date and time. (thank god for online billing) now here is the real kicker not only did I supposively authorize this they took it out of my husbands account and put my name on the electronic checks. we are still trying to figure out how they got his bank account information on a new account he had just opened that day. need less to say it is saturday and we can't do anything else til monday. but as of monday morning our bank will be rectifying some of this problem. I just hope no one else has this problem.

There are many rights as a consumer that you have even when you owe a debt. collectors of any kind most follow predetermined laws and ethics while collecting. one of the most important is that they are not allow to harass you in any way. this included cursing, making slanderous statements, making threats, intimidating you... etc

When they do... one tell them they may no longer contact you by phone and must send all requests and statements by mail. put you on their do not call...>they have to comply.

Secondly, when they do harass you, report them. thousands of collection agencies (even in house ones) have had class action suits against them that were won by consumers for their collection practices. so, make sure you are on any list. email the bbb and any consumer adcocay groups. also, write down the time and date of the call and what they said, keep a journal of any calls and all emails, postal mails... etc.. tape them if you have the ability.

Don't let them push you about!
I am sorry you had to put up with that... you won't any longer if you protect yourself.

I'm sorry, but this information is not correct. for example, you have no right under any law to demand that they only contact you by mail. telling them not to contact you is known as a "cease and desist" letter... there is no provision for a partial cease and desist. if you tell them not to call you, you are basically giving them only two options... stop calling, and they may very well sue if they have the ability to... or, violate the fdcpa and continue calling. for a small debt, or when they are only collecting for someone else, the chances of being sued are lower. but some debt collectors have been filing lawsuits for amounts under $1000, so even the lower amount issue is not the virtual guarantee that they won't sue like it used to be.

Second, reporting a debt collector is usually pointless. the cfpb very rarely ever takes action against anyone, let alone one of the thousands of debt collectors out there that get complaints. if you really want to put a stop to their illegal tactics, you take them to court. it's that simple. you get a consumer attorney, and file a lawsuit against them for violating consumer collection laws. anything less is a waste of time. they treat people like garbage because it works... they scare people into paying. when they treat people that way, a lot of them will pay up to make the abuse go away. so, if you really want to put a stop to this behavior, then you must hit them where it hurts them the most — in their $. if everyone who had been wronged by these # filed a lawsuit, the debt collection world would have to change its tactics because the cost of business to be abusive would be too high. don't waste your time with the bbb, it's not an impartial agency. each regional bbb is independently run, and the bbb has a nasty habit of giving a+ ratings to companies with lots of complaints — because that company pays the bbb for "accreditation" and becomes a member.

I. c systems inc is a collection agency. I have "never" done any business with them. they call me five and six times a day and night, threatening me saying lawyers are coming to my apt and are going to "take everything I have", furniture, tv, clothes, etc. I don't own a house or anything of value. I don't owe i.c. systems anything and I don't know who they are. i've written them three letters to stop the harassing, and stalking phone calls day and night, from 7 am till 11 pm! I have a bad heart, copd, asthma, and an ulcer. I am 56 and on ssi / disability; these people are stalking me and threatening me day and night via letters, and phone calls from 7 am till 11 pm. I have contacted an attorney and my family has i.c. systems inc. address, phone numbers and are in the process of obtaining the names of the men and women who have been threatening me and stalking me day and night via phone calls and letters. their phone calls have caused me to have severe chest pains, breathing problems and make unscheduled doctor's visit for pain medications. please, please make them stop and leave me alone!

I just got a letter from them asking me to pay $9.40. this bill was from verizon wireless that I haven't had service with for over 6 years. after I canceled my verizon wireless account, I was fair and square with them. I did not owe them any money; I changed service because verizon wireless customer service sucked 6 years ago. they have little better customer service nowadays but still suck comparing to other wireless companies. (just my personal opinion).
I am not sure where this $9.40 is coming from but I know one thing for sure. if I owed any money to anyone, they would get hold of me right away and not after 6+ years... who the heck i.c. systems think they are?
Did I mention that if you try to call them at [protected] you will not get anywhere, so don’t waste your time.

If you guys even had an ounce of brain in your darn head you would go to www.icsystem.com and see that this collection agency has been around for 75 years + and we are one of the top marketable collection agencies! read your records and chk the bbb as well* were on on top of their list. we take care of debts that need to be paid and set up payment arrangements for people. if people would just pay their bills on *time* they wouldnt't be in collections, I mean come on a dr bill that was 3 years ago I think I paid it, prove it or collection efforts are recommended against you.
God bless you [censor]s who dont know what a good collection agency we are! ics!

"you" just attempted to collect $108 from me on a fraudulent account. I don't care if you've been in business since god was a lad. I do pay my bills on time, which is why I knew from the start that the charge for which ic system was badgering me was false. a lie. utterly untrue. you may feel you work for a good collection agency, but that was most definitely not my experience and I have reported this incident to the ftc and all other parties with whom I had contact along the way, including our local police department. your good collection agency withdrew the collection and closed my file without even a letter confirming they had taken said action, let alone an apology for all the trouble they caused me. I had to call make the verification myself, still with no apology.

I need to add a follow-up, another brilliant ic system move, these people are mean and unethical. I was hounded by ic system for a case of identity fraud. someone, somehow got hold of my social security system and opened three telephone accounts, one of which accrued a rapid for $108. these were all on att accounts, which is the division of at&t which provides telephone services to the underprivileged. I called at&t and they told me that in the four years I had used their services, I had never missed a payment not even paid late on the account. the guy from accounting actually said, "I wish all our customers were just like you." we had recently changed to another phone provider as we moved, so we were sitting here with a refund check from at&t. at&t told me that we owed nothing and they didn't send refund checks to people with delinquent accounts. you have no idea how long it took me to present all the proof to ic system. they wanted me to sign onto their website to discuss my account and my husband went berserk and screamed, "no!" at&t told me my husband is a very wise man. I kid you not, that's what they said. we finally cleared this all up with proof from at&t, a filed police report and the help of the ftc, trans-union and experian. but wait, ic system isn't just nasty to those it wants to ding. they never called or wrote to confirm that the matter was cleared up, so I called to confirm this. yes, they told me, the file was closed. then a week or so later, I get five pages of documentation they want me to fill out, listing requests for all sorts of very personal information including copies of my driver's license, passport, my social security number and card, etc. after they just tried to collect from me on an identity fraud case?!? I called them, furious. they said that if I didn't submit the information, att would simply send the account to yet another debt collector. i'm sure that would be at ic system's vengeful request. I have had it with these fools. they are unethical, rude, stupid and incompetent. beware. document everything, even if it is a legitimate debt you owe. keep records. ask for them to make all communications in writing. you will stop their harassing phone calls and create a record of their actions.

Yeah, well I paid you people by check over the phone 1/23/18 in the amount of $55.00 just to get you off my back! Now 6 months later, another collection agency calling about the same bill. I read the information off of my checking account and they told me I had been scammed. SO, I paid them $53.45 for the same bill then called the customer service phone number they supplied me and was told the amount I paid had cleared the bank and the account was now closed. I am waiting for a confirmation letter from them. I have a confirmation #

With all of the identity theft going on it is kind of scary for a company to call and ask for a certain person and then ask this person to give out personal information for verification purposes. I have asked them to tell me what info they have on file and I will verify that way by telling them if it is correct. (They are asking for DOB & Current address.) A few weeks ago I received a letter stating that my information had been compromised because someone had hacked into Utah's health data base. I was warned about giving info over the phone and to be more aware of others trying to use or get me to give my personal info. I have expressed this concern to IC when they call and have been yelled at more than once. The reaon I am not sure about this company is that everytime they call it is from a different phone number, even with different area codes. It seems to me that when I explain that I am protecting my personal information they would offer me a different way to verify who I am. I am going through follow up cancer treatments and have more than enough to deal with at this time ... this is not something I need to worry about :(-

Who the f*** would ever work for a company like this? Why would a company focus on digging up old accounts and then adding extra fees on top, THEN threatening them with possible credit damage? This business world that we live in disgusts me. Penalty? Interest? Suck it.

I have had calls from this company from different zip codes neither of the numbers above. I am getting calls several times a day. They originally asked for someone I don't know. I told them it was a wrong number and to take me off their list. I told them this over and over. Now they call several times a day and don't say anything. I am disabled and if I am not sitting by the phone it is very hard for me to get to it in time. The complaints on this board start 8 yrs ago. There are lots of other complaints online, in different places. If this was a reputable, decent company, they would investigate and give the people who search for answers, somewhere to go. I am sure the only people looking for answers are the people who would pay their bills if they owed anything. After almost a decade of bad, scamming comments, seems like they would change their name or fix this. Who would continue to let this go on and NOT CARE! My husband has had to hire debt collectors, He would never go to IC systems with all the bad info online. If you are being harassed or scammed. Please post somewhere so others can see it is still going on.

I paid them the money i owed for a phone bill and now the actual people are sending me a collections bill. I can't get a hold of these people its very upsetting that i paid $1000 of hard worked money for something fake. They had my information and everything. I tried calling them and looking them up online but no luck. Ugh I hate this.

In my case they are trying to double collect on an old CenturyLink junk mail that IC must've gotten hold of, except that, guess what, after me calling for months C/L finally debited it from our bank acct and then, I suppose sent IC systems a delinquency acct. Now C/L has always known how to get in touch if they truly had a problem. I believe C/L and IC have some real problems. I'm going to report to Fair Credit Reporting Agency...I'm not sending any of my bank info to these creeps
