service/ food quality
visited this restaurant on 4/19/18 and recieved horrible service by a waitress who when we walked in complained about her problems at home being more inportant than serving customers, waitress was constantly adjusting her clothes and seemed to be sick with a cold sniffling and wiping her nose and mouth with the collar of her shirt, only asked us ONCE how everything was, did not refill our drinks, NOR ask if we wanted a refill, did NOT ask if we wanted a take away drink after we finished our meal, our meals came out very sloppy and clearly quality product was not on the two cooks priority list seeing as customers eat with their eyes plates were sloppy food was not hot pancakes were not hot food had CLEARLY been sitting customers who came in after us were served their meals by more attentive waitresses our waitress brought our food to the table and slammed the plates on to the table which shows poor customer service/training when it came time to pay the waitress just walked to our table, fingered through reciepts and dropped ours onto the table did not give us a pen or anything did not thank us nor welcome us back this is why places such as this lose customers the manager was dressed in regular clothes as she had a waitress help her remove a BROKEN table from the dining area in front of customers when this should have been done BEFORE customers came in or while the restaurant was not as busy upon checkout and paying for our meal I had to ASK for a pen and needless to say she did not recieve a tip I will not tip poor service and careless employees not trying to be difficult but things like this is what causes businesses to fold dramatically if the service is poor and thefood is poor quality then why waste time I will NOT eat at this establishment again waitresses name was Brittnee
overall experience at ihop
My Son (7) and I have been eating at this location for over 3 years and have had a few not so good experiences, but more good than bad or else I would not keep coming back. Tonight's experience took the cake! We arrived at he restaurant tonight around 4:50pm. There was only one table occupied in the entire restaurant. We were seated across from them in a both. Our waiter (Jonnathan) came a few minutes later and took our order. My soon ordered the Jr. Cupcake pancake special and I ordered a Sweet tea and water both with lemons. (I did not eat this trip) Minutes later a family of three entered and was seated directly behind us in a both. They were not using any abusive language, but were kind a loud due to the restaurant being empty. So when our waiter returned I asked if My Son and I could be seated in another area. My wish was granted, but not before I tasted my tea and it was unsweetened. So we sat another 10 minutes to receive my replacement tea and My Son's Jr. It took at least 20 minutes to receive the order. When the order arrived my son did not like the cupcake pancate so minutes later I asked our waiter if he could replace it with a plain pancake with strawberries on it. Waiter agreed and left the table. My son started eating his hash browns and bacon while waiting on new pancake. 5 minutes later the manager walked by (I knew him) we spoke and began to carry a conversation. About 5 minutes into our conversation, my waiter came back over to check on us and I asked about the replacement pancake and he looked confused. Him and the manager spoke a few words and walked away. My Son was now finished the hashbrown and bacon and was asking me what was taking so long. I caught the attention on the manager again and he told me to hold on. He approached the waiter and about 10 or 15 minutes later the waiter came out with the pancake and my Son asked if he could take it home. I informed both the manager and waiter that we were taking it to go. I then asked for my check. I took out a $20 bill and when the check came I gave the money to the my waiter. He left and what should have taken two minutes to complete turned into another 10 to 20 minutes. Apparently my waiter didn't have change for a $20 bill. I watched him walk around the restaurant asking his co-workers if they had change. I then saw him waiting on other table while still in possession of my money. After about 10 minutes of waiting I got up and looked for the manager. I approached the manager and he apologized and said he had given my waiter change over 10 minutes prior to me approaching him. He then walked up to my waiter and questioned him. The manager then informed me that he was taking 20% off my check. The waiter then came to my table gave me my change and walked away. I told both individuals that my experience would end up as a bad survey. I then noticed that I didn't have a receipt to take the survey so I asked for one. My waiter went back over to the register and reached in to the trash and handed me a crumbled up receipt as if it came out the trash. I took the receipt only because I wanted to complete a survey. Then I noticed it wasn't the survey receipt it was the restaurant's receipt. So again, most of my time, at least 30 minutes were spent just sitting and waiting. It became such an issue that my Son started complaining. I was so upset, I didn't even leave a tip and I take great pride in tipping. I was told the waiter was new, but that didn't make me feel any better.

food
Something strange happened to me today. I was with my wife and she was hungry from fasting all day yesterday for a procedure this morning at the hospital that we just left. So naturally it's her day and she wanted "ihop". I ate earlier, so I was not to hungry. So I made the mistake of ordering your "biscuits and gravy" what a mistake it was. It sure is a good thing that this was not the first time I visited "ihop". for it would have been my last. I have been coming to "ihop" since I was 5 years old when my Dad said that we are going to a new place that opened. Do you think an impression was made on that 5 year old. Those great pancakes and syrup, still a very fresh memory of family and great food. That little A frame. Do you remember? That was 60 years ago. HOW? and I mean HOW? can a restaurant that specializes in breakfast screw up a popular dish as "biscuits and gravy" so utterly bad. I am a creature of habit and normally order an omelet with all the fix'ins. I will be back for one at a later date. BUT! Someone in your organization should be extremely embarrassed for this disaster. How did this happen? The worst biscuit if it was a biscuit I ever had. The gravy was awful. I am restraining myself to how bad this experience was. How does a fast food establishment as Carl's Jr. do "biscuits and gravy" better than "ihop"? Carl's Jr. Come on. ihop should be one of the best around provoking you to come back for more. This is the first time I have ever done something like this. That's how disappointed with "ihop" I am. Like all corporation's I am sure this will fall on deaf ears. 60 years ago someone I am sure did care. Why? Because it worked, not gimmicks.
breakfast at the newly opened ihop at 13650 e. colfax, aurora, co. 80011
My husband and I tried your newly opened restaurant today and our experience was miserable to say the least. 1) The waitress took our order without writing anything down and when the order was delivered, both my husband's and my breakfast were wrong. 2) My food was cold---not Luke warm but cold. Cold French Toast is pretty nasty as are two cold fried eggs, Oh, and I ordered poached eggs! My husband ordered pancakes and received unbuttoned toast. Additionally, we had to wait 45 minutes before we were presented with these items. Needless to say, intend to never set foot in that IHOP again and will spread the word to our neighbors. Oh, all this happened on 4/24/18 at 11 am. I think a refund is fair compensation but we also would be happy with a gift/discount card.
there are no vegan meal items on your menu
Except small side salad, very small fruit bowl, and french fries, you have NOTHING that I can eat. Please add vegan/plant based items to your menu. Most restaurants have oatmeal that is served vegan, but you serve yours with cow's milk. Your salad dressings have milk, cheese, or egg. The restaurant in Roseville, CA has no vegan salad dressings. Please add some vegan burgers (make sure you are offering vegan buns), you could make a grilled/roasted veggie sandwich with good stuff like avocado, sprouts, etc, You could offer a nice big veggie salad with beans and nuts for protein, etc. You can even make vegan pancakes and waffles. I make them for myself often on weekends.
Please add several vegan/plant based meal choices to your menu.
Thank you,

your case 663803
The manager of the IHOP restaurant's in question called me today and offered his sincere apologies for what transpired during me and my families recent dine in visit but made no offer to compensate me for our unplesant experience or compensation for being overcharged for my wifes meal. All he said was that he would discuss it with his staff to try and make sure that it does not occur again. And also said that if something like this does happen again on a future visit to ask to speak to him or one of the other managers. Very disappointed in his proposed resolution and his not offering a reimbursement for the overcharge of my wifes meal. If this a hint to the direction IHOP is going with regards to their service and treatment of their customers believe me I will not be going back to this restaurant or any other IHOP restaurant and nor will I be recommending them to members of my family and friends. I don't need this kind of aggravation at this point in my life and there are plenty of other restaurants out there to visit and dine at. Again very disappointed in IHOP and their proposed resolution.

manager was very rude/unprofessional
Wow, so I called in after trying to order online which wasn't successful. I talked to Heidi and she from the beggining was extremely rude to me and I ordered ONE raspberry crepe, and side of hash browns. Simple right? Obviously not, she tried charging me $11 and something so I asked why when online it said it was $5.48. She admitted to making the mistake and than told me it was going to be $7.10 and I asked why again (very kindly mind you) and she got real snide with me telling me that's what it was. So my mom went in to pick it up in which my mom personally knows this Heidi. Heidi came up with 3 ppl as "body guards" telling my mom all pissed off "why did you say you were Nikki I couldn't believe you would talk to me like that" she said "Nikki was rude so why was she so rude" than she said "well I don't appreciate how rude she was" and walked off really pissed of with the 3 ppl she came up to my mom with. For one I was not rude and my mom felt threatened by her attitude and having 3 ppl ready to fight when I would of walked into the business. Very unwelcoming and extremely unprofessional. I'm beyond myself in how such a small phone call was made into something that extreme. Unbelievable
Not to mention the food I ordered is for my 2 year old son and I'm afraid to give it to him to eat, although he begged me to eat at his favorite place. Because I'm seriously afraid they did something horrible to his food. I should not be this concerned to feedback my child food over something so CHILDISH! I will be taking further action about this incident to the higher ups as well.
Not to mention that my two year old so cried when i refused to let him eat the food because i was afraid. I got angry and hit him. My mom who reported me when i did this before got custody of him took him home so i could not even enjoy a visit with him thanks to Heidi, and my mom said i was rude which I was not. My mom told me that I am not allowed to hit my son and she will take him home if i do.
What the hell is this?
You should be ashamed of yourself. I hope CPS took your child away from you. Sick [censored].
ihop 55+ menu policy
When I went to IHOP last night, I looked over the menu and wanted to order the grilled chicken dinner. However, the only place I could find it was in the 55+ section. I then asked the waitress about it and she said I couldn't get it because I'm not 55 (I'm 18). I wanted to make a formal complaint because I find it unreasonable and discriminatory against the younger generation to refuse to give the customer what they want simply because of age especially when it is readily available to prepare in the kitchen. I realize that it may be a matter of cost and portion size specially made to meet the needs of the elderly. However, I feel that it should also be available to all ages in an increased portion size and elevated price in a separate part of the menu.
I remain a huge fan of IHOP despite this policy, however, I would definitely appreciate it if this issue could be addressed and hopefully changed so that all ages may be given their desired meal.
food
I just want to start off with saying that my complaint isn't going directly towards the ihop in Manassas location but to ALL IHOP BRANCHES. I grew up in IHOP when I was a teenagers with my friends and my family……we would always go out to eat on Saturday nights after church service because you guys were the only restaurant open after 11:00pm. When you changed your portion amount and increase your prices a couple of years ago we were very disappointed. EVEN the Susages & bacon looked so much thinner; kids menu got cut down as well. I could not believe the drink for the kids were not included in there meal. All restaurants in the woodbridge, Virginia offer kids drink for free. I decided to give you guys a try again and went this Saturday with my sisters and the kids. It was a total of 3 adults and 8 kids. When the food came out the adult meals came out like kid portions and the kids portions came out as if it was for toddlers that were eating. Kids chicken tender were two tiny little pieces of chicken and i could count like a total of 10 fries. We were all still hungry and when we left and all the kids were crying that they were still hungry. EVEN MACDONALDS offers more food than Ihop. You guys should be ashamed of yourself to be offering these small portions when people are paying high prices. When we left we promise our self we would never go back to ihop very DISPOINTED and I know plenty of people in this area that feel the same way.
ihop is racist against whites.
The ihop Superior Co location seems racist. I've been in for breakfast a few times because it's close to my home. Every time I come, it's a staff of Mexicans. I'm white and I have dined with a various friends and family. Every time, we've been ignored for a very long time, to the point it's really obvious that it's intentional! No order right away, Hispanics being waited on before us, not checking on us to the point of almost walking out. No bill coming to the table in a timely manner. Waitress scowling at me. I will never go back to ihop again. The first time it happened, my mother suggested maybe they're racist against whites. I didn't want to believe that and came back 2 more times and the same thing occurred. Not that busy and my hispanic waitress couldn't have cared less that we were customers. It's like sitting down and basically being ignored the entire time. Why would I ever bring guests or even come back again? It's ridiculous!
service
I called up there once and someone picked up and just hung up and then I called back right away and nobody ever came to the phone I just think it's very disrespectful like what kind of business does that your supposed to want people to buy your food and every time I go there nobody knows how to behave or be kind nobody ever serves someone on time and also if there is a wait we are never told how long and it's always disrespect every time I go inside this IHOP
customer service from waitress and manager
This was the all time worst breakfast dining experience my family and I have experienced. The waitress took our order and brought our drinks at an reasonable time although it seem quite busy on a Sunday. However we ended up waiting over 20minutes for our food to come out and when it did come my fiance's and my food came out first before our childrens, Secondly we did not have any silverware when we ask for silverware we were giving plasticware after 6mins later, my daughters food took approximately 10 to 15minutes to get after me and my fiancee got our food. Our entire meal including refills on our drinks was brought by someone other than waitress, my daughter waited over 5mins to get salsa for her omelet which came with salsa as part of the recipe, when we finally was able to speak to someone to make a complaint in regards to the horrible customer service he wasn't a manager the server brought out our bill with a $3dollar discount, At that point my fiance's complained again we were not satisfied by the manager compensation, the waitress took bill back I assume to the manager and came back with it and said that the manager said that we didnt have to pay it as we proceeded to leave the same waitress ran up to the front and said that we did not pay our bill, she then said the manager said that we had to pay the bill, all of this not once did a manager come out to talk us, we demanded to speak with a manager at point and the manager only made the experience worst by not understanding what our true complaint was but yet insulted us by assuming that we were complaining about the food, our complaint was sinply about the horrible, poor customer service.
That is some ridiculously bad service.
management
My family went to IHOP on Sunday. I ordered the Southwest Scramble and the waitress told me they were out of avocado, i could sub for something else. A few minutes later the lady in the next table was served a turkey avocado sandwich. I asked the manager when he passed our table why was the lady next to me given avocado and I was told there wasn't any. Initially he told me that there were two separate kitchens and that one kitchen had them the other kitchen didn't. Later he said they found the piece for that lady. At no point did he offer an apology or anything even close to it. He just walked away. Later the district manager came up and she just Shrugged her shoulders and said" well I don't know what's going on. " When I mentioned it to the waitress she just laughed and said "oh I'm sorry we're just busy today." My complaint is not about the lack of avocado but by the style in which the entire staff including the district manager handle the situation. There's much more to the story but my space is here limited.
overall experience
This was the worst breakfast experience, ever. The only decent experience was our understanding and accommodating waitress, Anna. I ordered the chicken fried chicken and eggs. My chicken was raw in the middle, eggs were ordered over medium but were crusty on the outside and white was still runny on the inside, hash browns were cold. My husband ordered breakfast sampler. This hash browns were cold and eggs were disgusting. We initially asked for a redo on the eggs but after biting into raw chicken, decided against trying again. Waitress tried to offer other meal options and her apologizes but I began to worry that I couldn't make it out without vomiting so we hurried to pay. At the checkout we asked who or where was a manager. They said that she was in her back office. I asked to speak to her when I realized she probably had no idea what was going on and needed to get in that kitchen. She came out with an attitude as if we interrupted her. I tried to explain that they said that she was in the back and I'm in service so I just wanted to let her know what was going on. She rolled her eyes as she told me that she is doing her inventory. (Its 8:30 on Sunday morning and your kitchen is serving raw chicken but you are mad at me for interrupting inventory.) She offered to take the meal off the ticket but Anna already did that, which is when she was like "then what's the problem". I was really trying to help her. I just replied that it's going to be a rough day but she interrupted that they will be just fine. I won't! I have to go eat the free breakfast at the hotel when I get done vomiting and praying it won't be poising and last more than one hour of vomiting. Wow. I grabbed a pen and asked for her name and the waitresses name when she replied that it's all on the ticket. She couldn't even tell me her name. And I did say this out loud, "No wonder the food is so bad, the manager doesn't care and is a b*t#h." By the way, thanks to the cashier for telling me he names because it isn't on the ticket.

Slow service!
But besides that when he finally brought a refill
His smell of weed like to knock us down made eating incredibly difficult.
This goes on at this shift always
We eat here at mornings at least twice a week which has always been great, but I will never stop here at 7 on the evening again.
At the moment I'm watching two employees fussing

Server Pilar
Manager Octavio
My server Pilar was extremely rude since the beginning. She got our order for the drinks then i was going to order my food. She completely ignored me. Then rudely said. Drinks only. I asked for water no ice for my son 3years old. As we ordered the food she was in a complete rush. I understand that but being rude wont make anyone faster. 5min passed She delivered the drinks then stated she would bring my sons water out in a moment. I waited aprox 25 min. Nothing. My son was desperate for water. The food came out i told the food runner of my need for my sons water he stated hed tell the server, im sure he didnt., but she didn't come to our table to even ask if the food was okay or if we wanted refills. I still needed my sons water and now an extra plate. I was very upset by then I had to get up and nearly walked in the kitchen to ask for water and a plate. Thats litterly all i needed . She could have done it in less then 5min. Instead she ruined my experience. A nice man, a host, got the water and plate for me. The server decided to check on us when we were done with our food and ready to leave asking if we needed refills. So upsetting. I asked for the check and we all left the table. I asked to speak to the manager Octavio and he didnt come out to speak with me. This is absurd. Now im contacting corporate because this experince was definitely upsetting and i wont be returning to ihop again. And of course ill be leaving a bad yelp review aswell.
price point
My co-worker and I decided to stop into I-Hop for breakfast on 4/18/2018 at the 10301 Evergreen Way, Everett WA 98204 Invoice # 7183. I ordered a bacon and cheese omelette with no toast or hash browns with a side of bacon and a cup of coffee and my bill without tip came to $20.26. I happen to own stock in Dine Equity and wanted to see how I-Hop has been doing as I know Apple bees is trying to make a comeback and I-Hop has been the bright spot. I think the price for breakfast was outrageous and without telling my coworker that I was dissapointed in the price point he complained that his bill was too high, we then got into a discussion about it and the stock. I am not asking for any discount but I can tell you $20.26 and I left a $4.00 tip is way too much for a bacon and cheese omelette (no hash browns or toast) cup of coffee, and a side of bacon. I am concerned based on my experience and that of others I have spoken with that I-Hop is considering itself a high end breakfast establishment and may lose revenue based on outrageous price points. I will be sending a copy of my receipt with notes to Dine Equity as I fear loss of stock price. I also noticed only a few patrons and it was just past 7AM local time. I-Hop is not the only game in town and I can assure you our experience at a local Denny's was much better and had a much better price point, my co-worker stated next time we will hit the Denny's as he was disappointing. I hope this helps I-Hop leadership consider price points and targeted customers.

managers, employment
I was an ihop employee from december 22nd, 2016 to march 7th 2018. I worked at the ihop on Grand junction blvd in mesquite off of military and scyene, and i was fired the general manager Nicki. I was fired for not showing up on national pancake day, which i was for one not aware the exact date of national pancake day because i worked night shift and they told us nothing normally, not only that i normally worked 10 pm to 6 am and at that time pancake day is over so i was told by a different manager prior that i probably wouldnt have to come because it was my off day and if i came at my time i normally would pancake day is already over. They adjusted the sceduale and added me on it for pancake day but did so on a day i was off so when i came back in the next day i was scedualed last time i looked at the sceduale i was fired for not being there when nobody let me know called or told me sceduale was changed while i was off . I am now struggling to pay bills and take care of myself and my family because im unemployed i would like the issue to be resolved to where i can have my job back because i feel i was wrongfully fired i also feel they should look into the managment of that store the owners dan and sandra that were there for years had a great store going that ran like a family since alex the new owner took over they have ran off many workers and torn the store apart but i need a job and would atleast like to not be fired for a undeserving reason

I was eating in and I notice my sever talking to her mgr, they were standing near us, my sever ask nicely if she could step outside to get fresh air, that her only table just got her food n everything will b ok for a couple of mins, the only table she was talking about was my table, the mgr yelled no, then the sever said she had been there for 6 n half hrs n never took a break, n that y did she let everyone else go outside n not her, then the mgr got so mad, face red and all, yelled like a animal at the server, so no, no noooo, the server then said ok but it wasn't fair, then yelled so load just go ur going to act like a 3 yr old n keep asking me, just go, so the mgr walked away, then the server came to check on me, n I told her everything was ok, u can tell the server feelings were so hurt, I felt so bad for sever to the point I don't want to go there if this is how ur management treat ur workers, no one should ever b spoke to like this, my money will not pay for this person salary. I go to that IHOP at least 3 or 4 times a week, I do my interviews for my business there. My server name was brandy and the mgr name was Heather I asked the hostess what name was because I didn't want to make this server any hurt then she was. This server was the best on there since I started coming there, very sweet, pleasant and helpful with some questions I wanted to know about the food I wanted to answer, for my server to talk so highly of IHOP n for this Heather lady talk to her this way u can tell this wasn't the first time she talk her this way or any other employee cuz it was so naturally easy for her
ihop on 4765 calle real santa barbara, ca 93110
We as a family came to have some dinner on April the 8th 2018 at around 8:30pm. The address to this IHOP is 4765 Calle Real
Santa Barbara, CA 93110.
We put in our order and noticed after some time waiting that people around us were getting their orders sooner even though they had gotten there after us. My wife decided to go ask after a 40 min wait. Not once in that 40 min time frame did the waiter bother to check on us, or notice why we had not gotten our food. It was not busy at all. My wife decided to go and ask the manager working at the counter what was happening. The manager looks at the waiter, who then mentiones that he forgot to put in our order. My wife was like what? The waiter and the manager seriously acted like oh well, you don't like it leave attitude. And we did just that. I picked my crying 3 year old daughter that had her heart set on some macaroni and cheese, and walked out. Again errors happen I get it. But the attitude of the manager and waiter to imply that it was no big deal, and you can leave attitude is what made a family that has been going to IHOP for years decide to never ever go to IHOP again. Every chance I get I will definitely tell my story about this restaurant's service.
I thought IHOP was a family restaurant.
