I ordered Fish & Fries from the menu. The order was to consist of two small pieces of fish and five shrimp. Order took forever to complete as the business was not busy, yet the waitress seem to have disappeared. Made order, when dish was delivered it had seven shrimp, no fish. When I asked about the fish missing, the waitress admitted she "thought" I only ordered shrimp. She said she would get two pieces of fish from the kitchen and left. I handled the shrimp providing one piece to my wife and eating one myself. Nibbled on the fries and waited for the fish. The waitress returned advising the cook demanded to have some of the shrimp returned to the kitchen as the original order does not include seven pieces but only five. She took my plate and left.
I was shocked the waitress and cook were taking my food away after I had started eating. She returned with the plate of shrimp then shortly after returned with two pieces of fish. Who knows what happened to the shrimp removed from my plate, what was done with the food on the plate and who ate the food taken off my plate. Poor services, inexperienced and who made the cook the boss. One other employee was seen and a few limited customers.
This was the event to break the camel's back. Stopped at a IHOP in Yakima, Washington. Watched mice scamper over the salad bar. We got up and left. Delt with a manager of the IHOP in Eugene, Oregon who falsely accused a customer of leaving without paying. Customer showed receipt. The manager had to agree the bill was covered, he told the customer "IF" they had left without paying he would have the customer(s) arrested and put in jail. Even though the manager determined the bill was paid in full having already accepted blame. The customer was stopped by police, detained and then threatened with arrest even though no crime had occurred.
Sure, appears to be an Oregon Food Handlers violation, poor services, poor customer interaction.
Claimed loss: Loss $15.00, time to drive from our small community to have a late dinner. Our driving time was 45 minutes.
Desired outcome: I doubt a resolution possible. Embarrassment my dinner was returned to the cook and a mistake by the waitress. Very frustrating, soured the meal. Sounds like no resolution is available from the other complaints.
