Rockmart GA Why does Ingles put signs up advertising a reduced sale price, 2 for 1, half price, etc &at check out it rings up full price😠😠😠. This happens to me all the time & when you tell them they mis-priced this item, they get an attitude like it's your fault. They say if they ring it up wrong, the customer gets it free. I don't want it free, I just...

I was just wondering why Kroger, Walmart, food depot and Publix are all offering either delivery or curb pickup and Ingles is not. I live in Villa Rica, Ga. I am 70 years old. I don't need to get out. It would be very nice if you offered something to help us seniors get our groceries safely. The other stores do not always have the items that i need. Please consider helping us out. Thank You!
The girls in the white shirts (assuming some kind of supervisors?)
It is Wednesday, February 19, 2020. The weather forecast is calling for snow and of course everyone goes to the grocery store. My complaint is that while the poor cashiers have people lined up trying to get them checked out, the girls in the white shirts are standing around talking/laughing with one another. As higher up management they should be helping to...

On several occasions I've frequented the Ingles gas station and typically the cashiers are friendly. I've now come across an older gentleman who is not only outright rude but a tad bit racist. I've worked in the customer service industry in some form my entire life and have never seen this type of blatant attitude. On one occasion when attempting to pay for...

Oct 1st 2019 I went to get gas after I got off of work like I usually do and was treated very badly. The cashier at the gas station was very rude and disrespectful. She did not greet me or any of the other people that were in front of me. I asked her to help me at the pump and she rolled her eyes like it was a problem. I will not be returning there if she...

I have shopped at this Ingles Store since the doors first opened in the 90's. I had become close acquaintances with the store's Employees and worked with them through charity events. managers and other employers didn't quit, they stayed until retirement. For the past few years there has been a huge turnover and not to the good of the store. An Assistant Manager (Pam) is not only rude to cashier's and customers she will follow people through the store watching them. "I am one of those people she has followed several timed. I don't understand why because I am slim, do not wear loose fitting clothes and I do not carry a purse. If I were a thief, where would I put the merchandise?
I no longer shop at that store. I have talked to others who stop grocery shopping there as wel!, due to similar actions or rudeness.
jim lanning ceo
From my Yelp Review
For those of you that have had bad experiences I can tell you I know why. The problem starts at the top with James Lanning CEO and President! I recently was trying to lease some unoccupied space in the Cherrydale Point shopping center in which Ingles Markets owns. I have a very successful retail and online business that I have operated for the last 15 years and have been trying to locate a suitable larger space to help expand my business. I first tried for weeks to contact the listed realtor John Spake with no real success. Finally after two weeks I received an email and was able to obtain floor plans. I had been trying to arrange a viewing of the spaces and was not getting any response via email or phone. I gave up and contacted the corporate office and spoke with the real estate person their named Mary. I explained the situation and she advised after a couple of calls that she would have the centers maintenance person call me and he would allow me access. I never heard from him and still had not heard back from the realtor. After two weeks I called back to Mary and she could not explain why I was not contacted. When I asked when I could get access she then advised me that I should look for another location and did not give me a reason. At this point I ended the call and tried to contact who she reported to. There is no information on who that would be so I tried to contact the CEO and received no response either via the phone or email. No let me preface that I have tried to contact other CEO and Presidents of much larger businesses to advise them of a customer service issue when I felt the lower level employees where not, in my opinion, living up to a good customer service standard. For example I once contacted the office of Bob Iger CEO at Disney and received a call back within an hour! The same with Intuit's President Brad Smith about a software issue. Both issues where easily resolved. Here's the kicker. I never talked to either one of those two CEO's. They just let someone else with the authority to address the issue here my reasonable question and gave me a reasonable response and resolved the issue. At Ingles, the CEO was never in the office during the two weeks I tried to contact him. He does not seem to have an admin or secretary just a phone receptionist that just takes messages. And of course you can not explain the issue to her. Today I received a call back from Mary in Ingles real estate advising me that Ingles would not lease to my business! They have never met me, seen my finances and even allowed me access to the space. Seeing some of the customer service comments I can see where the problems arise. It is the CEO and his way of communicating or in this case not communicating with a potential business partner. In this case a lessee of one of the companies properties! Frankly, I did not understand how this business can stay in business. If I treated people this way I would be out of business!
ingles health insurance
I've worked for ingles since 2018. I started with ingles insurance for the first time in January and my experience has been horrible. I purchased ingles frozen yogurt, sign saying 2/7, when it scanned, it was regular price of 4.28, manager checked into it, says it was 4.28. The part that was really irritating besides being an ingles member for over 30 years, this woman had a pissyass attitude towards my husband and I. She told us we were wrong and barricaded herself in the office where we couldn't talk to her. This woman who wears a ponytail and glasses is not going to have that attitude with me again. I thought this new store was nice along with employees but she had the worst attitude. I've worked and still do for the public for over 40 yrs, never seen an attitude like this. There are other grocery stores I can shop at without being treated this way.
Best of luck with this new attitude woman in the Hazelwood, NC store [protected]@gmail.com

general business ethos
On April 25, 2017 I went into the Hogansville, GA Ingles to purchase strawberries. The sign in front of the strawberries read 2 for $5. These were one pound packages.
When I went to check out; Ingles refused to sell me the strawberries at the marked price since I didn’t have an Ingles Card.
I was informed by the on duty manager that she would be fired if she sold them to me for the advertised price without having an Ingles Card and that I had to pay $4.00 per package. I informed her that I had no desire for an Ingles Card and that I just wanted to purchase the strawberries at the advertised price which matched the same cost as the other stores are charging.
Currently in my area (LaGrange, GA) Publix has the same berries for $2.50 a package or 2 pkgs for $5.00. The Lagrange Farmers Market is selling the exact same berries for $2.00 per package or 2 for $4.00 and Wal-Mart is selling the exact same sized package from the exact same farm for 2 pkg for $4.98.
So, the margins on the product don't vary for three other retailers, but yet Ingles was trying to get roughly $1.50 more per package above their advertised price since I didn’t have an Ingles Card.
The on duty Manager then called the General Manager, who promptly told her not to sell the strawberries at the advertised cost without me having an Ingles Card and that I would have to pay the higher unadvertised cost if I didn’t have or get an Ingles card.
I explained that I had no desire for an Ingles Card. I just wanted to purchase the strawberries at the in store advertised price, which matched the other local store prices.
Bottom line Ingles refused to sell me the strawberries at the in store advertised price, so I went to Wal-Mart and purchased the 2 pkgs for $4.98.
In essence, Ingles valued the $3.00 extra dollars they could gouge out of me more than me being a repeat non-Ingles Card carrying customer.
I had typically stopped by the Hogansville, GA Ingles store somewhere between 24-36 times a year and let’s say spent a conservative $20 each time, spending somewhere between $500 to $700 dollars a year.
I know that the financial loss to Ingles caused by me not spending this small amount money anymore at the Hogansville, Ingles won’t be felt by the corporate office, but at least the other grocers in my area will make a little more due to Ingles business ethos.
fall due to water on the floor
I fell at the Hendersonville (Howard Gap Rd) store in August 2015 around 11:45a.m. and reported it to the cashier and another guy working at the time. They took information and I called the manager later that day to ask if they had a particular doctor I should see if my pain worsened. He informed me he was the store manager not a doctor and could not tell me what to do. Very rude and not sympathetic at all. He acted as though he was mad because I fell. Well I wouldn't have fallen if there wasn't negligence of the store by having water on the floor. I did not go to doctor because my mom was very ill and dying. I did have pain in my hip and leg for several days. Still have some pain in my leg, but Ingles never offered to compensate me for the pain or embarrassment and humiliation by the store manager. I am really disappointed as to how the situation was handled as I have shopped with this store for 18 years. But I can say, this manager should have had some consequences to suffer due to being so very unprofessional. His name is Richard Cox..
fired over advatage card
I had worked for Ingles for nine years before getting fired over an advantage card. On monday I had gotten told I had six weeks to get my items per minute up. Thursday after I came back from lunch a customer had two items I had gotten distracted and forgot to ask for the card so i returned her items to straighten it out., I got wrote up. I didn't let them know I was upset and was sent back to my register Trying to choke back tears I went back to my register. Thirty minutes later I had asked a lady for her card she was looking for it and i forgot to re ask for the card and had finished the order, so I had to redo her order and was sent home told I had to talk to the store manager before returning.
After reading the otheir complaints I agree their is not enough training. They on inconsistent on their policies like the Ipms they will fuss for awhile then it quietens down and the thing is they tell you how to "cheat" but they have yet to show you a prper way of scanning groceries. Have you ever wondered about why you have to sign the Advantage card policy over and over again. no traininbg on that either just sign a piece of paper until the next time.

My lawyer bought my husband and I $963.00 worth of food out of the blue because he felt bad for us ( My husband and I were involved in a truck accident 10/24/10 on I-26 where a semi tractor trailer truck hit us at a stop going over 75 mph; killed 5 people). I shop at the Black Mountain Ingles store occasionally. It is generally a clean store, friendly manager and most employees are nice. There is one cashier at the store that works there. I avoid going in her lane when possible. I saw her when I went in recently Aug.30, 2010, and chose another lane next to hers. I was getting my groceries checked out, but noticed how she treated the customers in her line. She does not greet them upon entering her lane, smile, or nothing. In fact, she doesn't say a word to the customers, except for how they are paying. She saw me entering the check-out area, did not smile, and looked at me with a blank look on her face. I don't know how she stays there. She acts like she does not want to be there in the first place. I thought about telling management upon leaving the store, but figured she will run into someone one day who will complain of her rudeness by not speaking to customers. I work as a grocery store cashier at a different grocery store. I give my best, smiling and saying hi to customers, thanking them and even engaging in conversation. When I go grocery shopping elsewhere, I expect the same service as I give. If you don't like working at a grocery store, quit, and do yourself a favor and take your bad attitude somewhere else.

discrimination to school kids
My son worked for Ingles in Commerce, Georgia for almost 2 years. To make a VERY long short, he was fired (after months of trying to get something on him) for picking up a doughnut that had fallen on the floor in the bakery, wiping it off, and eating it...The lady in the bakery was about to throw it away and she told him he could have it. This was considered stealing. He got fired, she got wrote up. This came after months of verbal treatment from the customer service manager over the frontend as well as the manager. Complaints were made to the home office, the district manager, and the store manager and nothing was ever done. I now have letters to the EEOC, Better Business Bureau, Ingles Market Personnel Manager, Ingles Market Head District Manager, and our local Chamber of Commerce. Ingles as usual has responded in NO WAY. Everything is my sons fault! They treat the teenagers that work for them horrible. If they don't like you they will ride you until you quit or find a way to fire you. They jump on these kids in front of customers. NO ONE WILL DO ANYTHING! I did not want my son to quit because he was saving for college. They finally found a way to justify getting rid of him: stealing a $.50 doughnut that was dropped on the floor that could not be sold to a customer! Of course they claim they had different things on him -- well all I can say is prove it. The days he was out sick we DID have doctors excuses. If I could say one thing to mothers with teenagers -- do not let your children work for a place that ignores problems like this! Your child could be next!
You do know the whole story...this was not the first time a confrontation was made. I work for a large retail company...most of the time they do want to find a reason to justify what they do so they don't look so bad. He was followed out to the parking lot later in the week when he picked up his last pay check and cussed out by the manager because of something posted on Facebook. He is only a MINOR. So do you still want to stick up for a company that cusses out kids?

deli manager intimidating
I do not appreciate Mister William Boheim (deli manager) at Woodlin Hills Ingles, store #22 breaking into my facebook, cut and pasting my profile and a conversation I was having with my friends, adding stuff to it and then proceeding to hand it to my son and intimidate him with it. My son has been written up twice and gave a verbal warning all in about a week. My son has worked there many years and has never been abused like this. Since Mr. William Boheim was on the clock when he did this, I hold INGLES responsible also. This will not get swept under the carpet!
