I am most certainty interested in using clean energy, however I was told that I would not be charged for this service
I am most certainty interested in using clean energy, however I was told that I would not be charged for this service. Since talking to the guy how came door to door and collected my energy information I have had an extra $213.49, $63.84, and $249.55 for "New Inspire supply charges," however this is an addition to "New electric charges." The "New Inspire" charges only started after I signed up. I am very upset because this was suppose to be a free service. Everything I am reading about the company states it is not suppose to add to your bill. Not only that, but it has messed up my automatic payments. I am still enrolled, but it did not come out of my account. So now I have two months bills and these additional charges to pay! I want my money back and I want to be removed from this service.

This company has lued to me from the start
This company has lued to me from the start. I feel like i was manipulated into signing so a employee could receive commission off of me and my account. They also do not include actual uses on the bill because even in HIGH PEAK months, thr flat or fixed rate is MORE then the acual ammount used. I called to speak to a representative and i was lied to again! I was told she could give me a foxed rate to match AEPs rate and be locked in. The once i asked what Aep charges, it was LESS THEN the so called matched rate. I am so furious it is unbelieveable. I habe never experienced such disreguard for the truch amd the customer. No morals from this company at all. I was also promised a $100 gift card but i have zero expectations of that. Save yourself the headache and money and choose a different supplier.

Sounded too good to be true and it was. An inspire salesperson caught me off guard in the grocery store. Promised me a flat rate bill with "clean energy", guaranteed first bill of $40, and a check in the mail for $100. Just because they "believe in clean energy that much!" LIES! After 2 weeks when I never received the email offering me monthly flat rate which I was supposed to receive within 7 days, and no check (surprise), I emailed them to cancel. Went back and forth thru emails trying to cancel my service. THEN they offer me my flat rate. 145 dollars! Just for the power, I'd still have to pay my local utility company for supply! Again I said no thanks please cancel me. I was assured I was canceled and wouldn't see inspire energy on my electric bill. SURPRISE! I receive my electric bill today $254 dollars. Thanks inspire! Called to dispute and as I expected, nothing but excuses and I'm stuck with this bill. DO NOT sign up for Inspire Clean Energy. They'll try to make you feel like you'll be such a great person because you're using clean energy and they'll offer you things that they will not provide. They just want your electric bill account number so they can switch everything to them and then they're done. DON'T DO IT! Couldn't give no stars or I would have.
Customer service was fine. But the electric supply was a rip off. Promised one flat-rate, delivered another, which was entirely out of line with past usage, which is what they claimed it would be based on. Never again!
Inspire Energy Holdings is launching providing natural gas. My 87 year old mother was approached in her home by 2 women representing Inspire. She informed them she was not interested in changing companies. They went ahead and signed her up for a contract anyway - she never signed anything. Now her price for Natural Gas has gone from 37.5 per ccf on the contract she had to 69 ccf on a contract she did not consent to. When I contacted the company, they said they were very sorry - I should contact the old company and see if they can sign her back up. I had already contacted them and sure they can sign her back up, but not at the previous rate. Inspire said nothing about cracking down on these solicitors who are forging documents and taking advantage of the elderly. Stay away from Inspire Energy Holdings.

The process/transition coupled with the overall concept of the brand has been worthwhile.
Hi, I am a property manager of a building in Rockville, MD. Inspire Energy reps have found a way to sneak into my building repeatedly. I have to ask the representatives twice not to stay out of our building, and they have continued to walk the halls, knock on doors, and aggressively argue with my tenants. I need this to stop. I need someone's assistance in keeping this company away from my building. My residents are upset and feel it is unsafe to handle whatever kind of business they are sulicitling.
Had a "rep" from BJ's Wholesale in Baltimore offer free information with my choice of verification 3 days later, I noticed after their informative session that they had already signed me up without my full knowledge and consent. I would like to immediately cancel this service before it goes into effect. I find it unethical and immoral that BJ's would take commission on their loyal customers for a company that simply adds fees on to BGE bills (as BGE is the sole provider of this energy both with and without Inspire).
One star was required to leave this review
One star was required to leave this review. One star is more than this company deserves. The rep for this company committed fraud. Inspire's rep took advantage of my father whom did not speak English well and he (the rep) created a fake account and contract. My father was paying a higher than normal bill for 9 months and didn't understand why. After reviewing his bill I notice the third party company and explained it to him. My father said that the rep asked to see his bill. He told the rep he didn't want to change anything and the rep assured him that he just wanted to take a look. After giving his pitch and my father declining the service, the rep took my fathers bill with him. Is this how you train your staff? To mislead, trick, and fraud customers? After contacting customer service My father was credited only $20.00. he has been paying Inspire over $1000. 00+ without his own knowledge or consent because he thought he was just paying Pepco. We are taking every matter necessary for my dad to get refunded the money this company basically stole from him. How dare you take advantage of someone who has an language barrier and an elderly person to add. How dare you!

My Electric bills have gone down since I switched to Inspire
They provide honest and compassionate empathy to your energy needs, and your affordable needs!
After my initial energy contract ended their Customer Experience department gave me a great renewal rate that was better than most other companies. Thank you Inspire!

As part of my plan to purchase a battery electric vehicle, I also researched different ways to save on the electricity I would be using, and hopefully find a provider that used more sustainable methods. Inspire completely fit that bill. Providing 100% wind power means all the electricity getting me to work and back (not to mention the rest of the electricity running my house, including A/C in the summer), involves zero burning of fossil fuels. Plus, since I'm able to get the flat amount per month plan, I don't need to worry about using too much every month. In fact, the more I use, the more I save. I will say that the plan only saves me money *becauseI have an electric car. If I didn't, there would be no way for me to make the plan worth my while. I would highly recommend trying to get on this plan if you own or plan to own an EV. I found out about Inspire through my own research, so I did not encounter any door-to-door salesperson or people at a grocery store. It's a bit disappointing to read those reviews, but since I haven't experienced that myself, it doesn't affect my rating. The only thing that *wouldaffect my rating would be if they suddenly changed what they're charging me, or if I found out that the power they're providing isn't 100% wind as they're claiming. The former hasn't happened, and the latter... well I have no way of knowing for sure without seeing a wind farm with my eyeballs, so all I can do is trust that they're really doing the right thing and providing 100% wind power.

For the second time in three months an Inspire representative knocked on my door and asked if I had "followed-up" on the enclosure with my energy bill for green energy. This individual like the one three months ago made it sound like it was a requirement. IT IS NOT A REQUIREMENT! Also, both salespersons claimed they were not salespersons, yet they are going door-to-door soliciting for Inspire (Energy). Three months ago, the saleslady was entering information from my energy bill into her iPad. When she started asking me for my phone number and email address, I asked if I was going to have to sign something. She acknowledged that I would have to sign. At that point I said, "You don't need my phone number or email address, as I'm not signing anything without doing further research." Inspire needs to stop telling people that they are there to make sure people are following up on the green energy notice in the energy bills--"following-up" is OPTIONAL. Inspire also needs to stop saying that neighbors have not been following up--as if "following-up" was a requirement. Since both salespeople used the same approach, it's clear that they were coached to say the same things. Inspire also must direct their door-to-door salespeople to acknowledge that they are, in fact, salespeople when they introduce themselves and when asked by homeowners. Inspire door-to-door salespeople must also disclose the true full monthly cost for buying green energy from Inspire. The Inspire salesman who knocked on my door yesterday professed that he was not aware that green energy cost more. Inspire's current door-to-door soliciting approach is deceitful.

Ok I couldn't leave a zero star so I put one star cause I get that is good for the environment
Ok I couldn't leave a zero star so I put one star cause I get that is good for the environment. I couldn't file a complaint cause this site wouldn't accept my email address even though it is valid. Now this company Inspire the pitchman approached me in the Giant Eagle near me and asked if I cared about the environment and I do. So he told me that if I signed up that my electric bill would only be 50 bucks a month and that the first month is free. So I asked him cause the bill was not in my name I just pay it. He said that's ok. I asked him 4 times if I would be double billed for electricity. He insured me I would not that I would only have to pay Inspire and that's it. I asked him again about being double billed and he said nope all I would have to do is pay the 50 dollars. Then comes the next 2 bills or so and I see that not only do I have to pay my main power supplier but now Inspire too!? I was being double billed! The guy pretty much lied right to my face but luckily my girlfriend was able to cancel it. I just couldn't believe that essentially I'm just paying Inspire 50 bucks as well every month . I am just glad they did let me cancel. However I am very upset that this man insured me that I will only have to pay 50 dollars a month and that they wouldn't let them in Giant Eagle if they were ripping people off and that's pretty much what they did. I signed up after the guy told me not to worry you won't get double billed and guess what happened. I'm just glad I canceled this before my bill sky rocketed to 140 dollars every month. I felt he could have said yeah you'll have to still pay your main supplier too. I would have just walked away but he lied right to my face and pretty much rushed up on me when i walked into door. Never again will I buy anything from anyone until doing further research. That's on me. I just figured this company wouldn't have their employees lie to me directly!

Representative came to my home while I was not present, my girlfriend answered the door
Representative came to my home while I was not present, my girlfriend answered the door. The representative said they were licensed by the state (New Jersey) to provide clean energy and to ensure we received the notification from JCP&L about the air pollution notice and that if we didn't respond we would be tagged for air pollution. She let the representative know that I was not home and I am the one who deals with the utility bill. He asked when I would be home because he will be in there area later. At 8.35 pm, as I am getting ready for bed, the representative knocked on my door, stated he was licensed through the state as noted above. I could not understand what company he was working for and asked him to repeat it slowly, he again said that he works for Inspire Clean Energy through the state (New Jersey) for the utility companies (JCP&L). I asked him if he worked for the state of New Jersey, he said "No, why would you ask that?" I explained to him that in his initial opening statement about who he was, it makes him sound like he works for the state. He then began to have an attitude with me, and went over his script about the pollution notice and if I hadn't responded I would get a label on my bill from JCP&L. i said "Well, I will talk to JCP&L about that then", he then pushed that he was there to represent them to talk to me about it because most customers didn't respond to the notice received. I asked why he was coming to my door about this so late in the evening. He said "nah man, it's only 8:36". I reminded him that he was knocking on my door at 8:30 at night and that I would talk to JCP&L. He said he was there to go over it with me, by this time I was beginning to get irritated and asked him to leave and started to close my door. He then asked me provokingly "what's your problem? What are you gonna do about it?" as I was shutting my door. I opened the door, let him know it's not wise to go around knocking door to door so late at night and it should be done during daylight. He again challenged me, and I told him to leave my property, he did not want to comply and I could hear my neighbor across the street also aggravated and telling him to leave from him seemingly knocking on their door before coming to mine. The representative still would not comply, so I yelled at the top of my voice for him to leave my property, and he started to walk away mumbling something again that I could not understand. These "representatives" make themselves sound like they work for the state, and I have checked with my utility company and they have not put out any "notices" nor do they do business or contract with this company.

Sometime in March or April 2022 I was approached by a solicitor for Inspire Energy inside a booth in the 's Warehouse Club located in Dedham, MA. He asked me to switch to Inspire for my residential Electric supply delivery fee. I informed him that my Town of Walpole, MA had an agreement with *** Co. He stated that their rates were better and asked if I could pull up my account number of a recent *** bill to compare rates. I used his *** to pull up my account and we compared rates. The rate I was paying w/ *** was 0.09945 per kilowatt, Inspire quoted 0.14990 per kilowatt. So clearly they were costlier and I said NO THANKS to him and walked away. Then in June I get a bill from *** showing I was switched to Inspire by their agent without my authorization. So clearly this agent who worked on commission switched me to a INSPIRE, a much higher rate than I was currently paying without my authorization. I believe this is an consumer offense. It was deceptive because he had my *** account number and used it. I am trying to switch back to *** but am having difficulty. My supplier charge with Inspire was $ 184.23, it should have been $122.22 with *** so I lost $ 62.01 because of their fraud.

In February 2022, we were approached by an Inspire Energy representative to switch our energy supplier with assurances that our bill would not increase. Since the switch, our charges have increased from $0.0886 kWh to $0.9468 kWh with our power company, based in Maryland, notifying us of an impending discontinuation of service. After several calls with no response and messages left at Inspire, we still have not received any assistance. Our total bill is now $1037.38 past due when we were normally in a surplus of $300-$400 by only using energy-efficient practices. From March to July 2022, this company has severely misrepresented themselves and, in my opinion, stolen from us. We want their service cancelled, our bill paid in full, and their company banned from places like shopping centers, home improvement stores, and anywhere else they send their deceitful representatives to prey on those trying to save money.
About a month ago a representative from Inspire electric company showed up at our house and convinced us to switch to a different electric power provider (Inspire) promising that we will pay less for electric usage (per kWh) and that this was "clean energy". The representative did not tell is anything about additional charges involved into this. Today we received a bill from our electric company ***, the bill was ~$350 higher that what we paid before switching to Inspire. When we checked the bill, we found that our electric usage was $103.92 and the rest ($349.99) was something called "New Inspire electric supply charges". The bill also says: "Type of service: *Residential Service Flat Monthly Price of $349.99". Our understanding is that we will pay this additional payment every month. This looks like a scam. Nobody warned us about this charges. We requested immediate cancellation of Inspire service. Still we would like to get our $349.99 back. We would appreciate your help in this issues. Regards
I was at s shopping and a woman approached me and said I would get a $50 gift card if I signed up for inspire. I told her I already had them. She said thats ok were offering a flat rate to our customers. She told me my flat rate would be $89 a month. I signed up for $89 a month. I then get a letter telling me that my flat rate will not be $89 it will be $344.99 a month. I got a bill in the mail from the illuminating company and my bill was $509. The $344.99 from Inspire plus $143 for the *** That is insane! I called to cancel and they wrote me back saying they paid 60% of my energy so I own the whole thing. I cant afford that. Thats half of my disability. They also said it could take 1-2 months to cancel. So Ill have to pay that huge amount till they cancel it. They lied to me. They should honor the $89. How can they do this to people? Please help me.
My wife and I were approached in a store by an Inspire sales person. Claimed our electric bill would be cheaper since its from renewable resources. We told the salesperson that we would think about and we do not want to change anything at this time. We where told, that's fine, nothing will change until we give consent. Well that's not what happened, we received our *** bill and it was doubled. They charged us $495, so our bill came to $760. We have never had a bill that high in the 20 years at our home. A partial refund would be nice, I say this because there was no formal signed contract. I gave no consent.
These Inspire energy people came to my door
These Inspire energy people came to my door. They lied and said they worked with *** and *** and would lower my bill. Then they started showing me stuff to sign on their tablet that had the real name of their company, and that's when I realized they were lying to me. I kept asking questions like "are you with ***?" And "do you work for ***?" And they told me that they work with *** which partners with *** through inspire. Just a whole bunch of BS that was different from what they initially told me. They made me sign something and sent a number to call me to answer yes to a bunch of questions. One of which was "did the marketplace salesman leave your residence?" I answered no, the automated voice said to have the number call back once he leaves and hung up. Then the guy quickly looked up and said to answer yes to every single question including that one. That's when I finally realized something is wrong because why the *** do you need to watch me answer these questions. So I declined services and locked my door. These people employ scam tactics to get people to sign up to their nonsense company so they can raise your energy rates. Also I live in a building, I don't even know how the hell they got in. Don't open your door for these people.

Inspire Energy sent a rep to my building who then railroaded me into signing up for a scam "replacement" of my energy bill by telling me it was "federally required to keep electricity" and if I didn't sign up that I would have charges brought against me. I live alone and know the dangers of saying no to someone physically larger than me, especially as I'm currently sick and significantly weaker than if I wasn't. This is ridiculous, immoral, and disgusting. Luckily I immediately canceled but looking around it seems like this is nothing but a scam to lock someone into years of paying hundreds of dollars a month. If I get charged any amount of money I will be seeking legal action as I was reassured by the rep and by the helpline I called that I will pay nothing because I canceled. I will also place a chargeback on my account if I am charged for fraud, and I will be calling my energy company to make sure that no changes are made to my account as I do not consent. Even if this was a legit company (and I'm almost 100% sure it's a sick scheme to prey on low-income folks) being railroaded into this is ridiculous.
So about 5 months ago a representative from this company came to my house and claimed to save me money on my electric bill. Charging less money per watts of electric then my current supplier. But yet my bill had doubled They charge my the same bill that pseg is charging like it's double charge as if I have separate suppliers at the same house. I have bill $308 when I only used $154. So pseg charged $154 and inspired charged 154 also. I tried canceling this company. And my wife is trying to cancel and be reimbursed for all over payments. Since the bill is in her name. They saying I can't cancel but I was the one who signed the contract

Good day - I do not check my bills often as I have auto pay set for most. I recently went into my electric bill and noticed it had a line item for this company which I have never heard about. The line item states: " Electric supply charges - Inspire Energy Holdings, LLC". I looked further down on my bill and saw the note which explained further what this was. It states: " Electric supply charges - Inspire Energy Holdings, LLC. Through the CHOICE Program, you have chosen to purchase electricity from Inspire Energy Holdings, LLC." This naturally came as a shock as I have never even heard of the company, let alone signed up for anything. Looking at my bills, it appears the first month this was added was back on the bill dated for April , which covered the month of March . I have since cancelled this service via my utility companies site (PSE&G NJ) and are waiting for someone from Inspire to reach out to me. I have no clue what this is or how I got enrolled in it but looking at my bills since it was enrolled, I am paying way more than I use to. Not only do I not know how I got enrolled without my consent, nor do I know what it does/is, but they are charging me 159.99 a month. I would like to understand what this is, why I was enrolled without my consent, and a full refund. I am willing to share what every account information is need but understand that you asked not to include that here. Please feel free to reach out to me

Had two inspire representatives come to my house promising a really low .6 rate for electric. When I received my bill it was a huge $352.92. They charged a $289.00 flat rate for electric. Never did they say anything about this. My energy went down 3% but went up 198%. Scamming people into believing it was cheaper. When calling no resolution wouldn't put a manager on the phone.
A couple of years ago, I was approached by a young man dressed in a water delivery service uniform. He claimed to be working for Inspire Energy and promised to reduce my monthly electric bill. Eager for a lower bill, I agreed to sign up. He handed me his business card and assured me that if I ever wished to cancel, I could simply reach out to him, and he would handle it. Unfortunately, when I tried to cancel last year on three separate occasions through him, I made no progress. I then turned to my utility company, which provided me with Inspire's contact number. After speaking with a representative, I was informed that cancellation would take two billing cycles. However, it's been over a year, and I am still incurring exorbitant charges. My utility company has revealed that my usage is subject to a higher delivery rate due to Inspire. Left with no other option, I implore Complaintsboard.com to intervene and compel Inspire to cease billing me. I no longer wish to be their customer as their service is causing me financial strain. Being on a fixed income, this situation is causing my household considerable hardship.

I signed up with inspire energy because I was told they had an unlimited plan for 69.99 a month for unlimited use of energy in my home. This was a renuable energy company and I was preased to to my part to help save the environment. the first 3 months were great but I had to call them and ask them about the rebate I was promised at the beginning of the contract. I was told when I signed up that I would receive a $100 gift card in the mail after 3 months of service. I should be receiving it in february. I called to find out status of this mid february because I had not gotten anything. I was told on that call no it's only $50 gift card. I then questioned and pulled out the email I got when I first signed up. They then told me they I was correct and they were shipping me two different $50 gift cards. This took a total of 4 weeks to receive both gift cards. I then received a bill for $60 more than the agreed upon price I was told at the beginning of the start of service. I called to question why this happened and was told "oh this was just an introductory period and we sent you an email in november to tell you what the price would be after the introductory period. I have saved every email from them since I first signed up and no where was it ever mentioned that my bill would go up after an introductory period. They then offered me another deal where I would pay per use, Sorry if you lied to me twice, I am not willing to sign another agreement. This company is very is very unfair and needs to get their act together before promising customers things and then screwing them in the end.

A sales person for inspire was at 's whole sale store in Ithaca NY promised to save me 100 or more a month on my electric service and said it would only cost me about 55.00 a month when I got my first bill it was over 329.99 which was more then my electric bill. They sent me a check minus the 55.00 and said sorry next month rolled around same thing happened. Told them I wanted my money back and to cancel my account. They sent me another check. Third month same thing this time I called told them to cancel me and send me a check ( still no check) fourth month same thing called oh your account was canceled but could take 1 or 2 pay months to cancel. So I told them I wanted all my money back which is 630.00 I told them I wanted to talk to a Manger they took my number down for a Manger to call me. I told them I was going to report the to Complaintsboard.com and get ahold of my lawyer. This company is a joke and a scam in my book
I was approached by a saleswoman who convinced me that Inspire will save me money. At no time did she mention that the fee she quoted was for a "Trial Period". I was astounded when I got my energy bill this month. The fee Inspire charged me was $239.99 as opposed to $34.99, which was my fee for last month. That fee caused my energy bill to more than double! The fee to Inspire alone was more than what my bill would have been with my previous provider. I want to be reimbursed for the exorbitant fee they charged me. This jumped my monthly payment from $96.48 (last month) to $341.77 (this month). This is criminal. They tricked me with a bait and switch. I immediately cancelled this service through my previous provider, but now, I'm being told from Inspire that I cannot be reimbursed because I canceled my membership. This is unfair as their office was closed yesterday and I needed to stop the bleeding. I beg you to do something to help me. Who can afford this high of an energy bill right now? No one! Inspire is making money by giving misinformation. Shame on them! Please help me get my money back!
I was fraudulently signed up for Inspire Clean Energy
I was fraudulently signed up for Inspire Clean Energy. After enquiring about a $69.99 fee on my Ohio *** bill I called the phone number listed for Inspire ***), and they said an *** signed me up, but there's never been an *** in my apartment, I've never been married. When I asked Inspire what phone number and email they had on file for me ( ***) they gave a phone number and email address that has never been associated with my Ohio *** account, and they said they show an *** signed the contract, but again there's no *** associated with me or my apartment or on my Ohio *** account. I believe was fraudulently signed up by the sales rep for Inspire Clean Energy when they were coming door to door, they had asked to see a bill from Ohio *** to give me a quote, after reviewing my bill I told them I wasn't interested, but by that point they had my account number so they made up the name *** and provided a fake email and phone number to appear as if I signed up. They also received commission for getting customers to sign up. I called Inspire Clean Energy and after explaining everything they said they would have to have a manager review my complaint to see if it could be canceled and it would take 1-2 cycles to have it canceled, which would mean I'd have to pay $69.99 for at least two more months. I want my account canceled now and would like back payments for this Inspire Account since i was fraudulently signed up by their sales rep. Thank you

To whom It May Concern, I am a healthcare worker dealing with Covid patient on a daily bases. I am naturalist and very concerned about global warming and clean use of planet earth. In November, a repetitive of company called Inspire energy presented to my door promising clean energy and not fossil one for under 70 $ per month flat rate for unlimited use, I agreed. His promises of my bill evaluation, which was 40$ at that time, latter of detachment from PSEG, new bill rate in 4 wks and more was never delivered. December 7, I called the company asking for an update and thto my surprise the representative informed me I am on their service for 72 a month without other promises they made for trial period of 2 months. I disagreed and ask for stop of service. Representative agreed to stop after two months. She did not told me that detachment is in two months and my bill returns to normal immediately. I stop warming house by gas and started electric. In January I called Inspire and they charged me 195.04 plus delivery charge of 66.75$. When I called them, they told me as I cancelled the service, even they wont stop it for 2 months but they take me off the flat rate. But they never told me that on December 7th phone call. I am writing this in hope of that they know we have someone to protect consumer. I spend all and every day with fear of getting covid from my patient to my 75 yrs old mother and not expecting people to take advantage and acting wrongly to gain profit. I hope your office to give them not even C rating. Thank you, Regards,***. Princeton, NJ

I had been approached by a representative for inspire at the grocery store and they told me that if I sign up for Inspire, that I will receive a free gift card and that they guaranteed that my bill would be cheaper than it would normally be every month just using Duquesne light. I asked him if there was ever a chance that I would have to pay more than my regular monthly bills and he assured me multiple times that I would never pay more and that the only thing I am signing up for is "changing where my energy comes from". I never see that inspire is on my bill because I have paperless billing. I called my electric company and was informed that I have been paying a little more than double with Inspire and I had no idea this whole time which has been a period of 24 months. Duquesne electric charges 0.0713 cents and they have been charging me 0.1599 cents per KWH. I contacted support and they said they cant do anything about it and that they are aware about the issue with the representatives doing that, so they changed their plan because to many people that signed up for clean energy said that it was "unfavorable to them" and then asked me to pay a flat rate of $49.99 / month now instead. I said so your telling me that you know about this and your not going to do anything, but ask me to change to a monthly contract? That is false advertisement by lying to me to get me to sign a contract, which I did not get to read as the Representative scanned the whole way through it on his computer and then just told me to sign. So I sign based on what he told me " your bill will never increase, signing up just changes where your energy comes from". I feel that a lot of other people had the same issue. I would like information about filing a class action lawsuit against them as they are fraudulent.
This company has deceptive sales tactics
This company has deceptive sales tactics. I was in hardware store on December 31. When I was approached (unsolicited) by a representative of Inspire, her name was Abby. Abby was trying to pitch inspires clean energy to me. I indicated on multiple occasion that I would listen what she had to offer but I was not signing up for anything on that day. She repeatedly told me I was not signing up for anything and that I would have to give my account number to switch from my current energy provider to Inspire. I filled out some form on her tablet to have as she, put it, "someone to contact me via phone" to discuss switching to inspire, and that I, "would not be switched until I provided my account information." She did most of the filling out of the forms and I only signed. I never got to see the fine print on the device and never got any sort of email confirmation from Inspire nor the promised phone call. All I got was a text from Abby the day of me signing up to hear about Inspire. I didn't feel good about this exchange so during the first week of January I called First Energy about this exchange to make sure my service provider had not switched. They were helpful and said they had not. On February 4 I got a letter in the mail welcoming me to inspire clean energy, telling me I had, "Recently made the switch to Inspire..." On closer inspection the postmark date was Jan 18, 2021. I don't know why the letter took nearly 3 weeks to get to me but as you will soon see it doesn't matter. I called First Energy as soon as their customer service was open on Monday (2/8). First energy told me that there was nothing they could do since the "Rescind" period had passed. I asked when that date to rescind was and was told it was January 19. One whole day after the letter was mailed. So even if they mail wasn't held up, the letter would have showed up after the rescind period.

Two months ago a representative from Inspire shows up in my apartment complex (No soliciting sign at the entrance) and begins banging on my door like its the police with a warrant. I work from home so this is happening while I am in the middle of working. I have to stop working and go check because they simply will not stop trying to bang my door down. I answer the door to an African American man in his early 50's with an Inspire badge around his neck. He starts telling me why he is here and as I have dealt with this many times in the past I cut him off and tell him I have absolutely no interest whatsoever in switching Electric service providers. He comes back several times with "What you don't want free energy?", "Your sure you don't want free energy?" "Why wouldn't you want free energy?" In the nicest most nonconfrontational way I can I tell him No over and over again. Finally, he relents and leaves my Apartment. Mind you I did not SIGN anything, I did not speak to anyone on his cellphone giving VERBAL agreement. Now KNOWING that I DID NOT give written or verbal agreement to switch any of my energy services away from *** lets move to today 03/08. I wake up and check my email, my electric bill from *** has arrived but it's double what I normally pay. I look at the PDF and lo and behold Inspire has suddenly become my new provider with no permission from me whatsoever. As today is a Sunday I cannot contact *** to correct this issue. They will, of course, make me pay it anyways and claim 0 responsibility even though this is the THIRD time I have had another company suddenly become my electric service provider. Inspire signed me up for their services with no permission from me whatsoever and now I'm stuck with a massive light bill that is going to put me out on the streets. Just know that whether you say NO or not, you will be signed up for this service and apparently no one cares.
DECEPTIVE BUSINESS PRACTICES
DECEPTIVE BUSINESS PRACTICES. Earlier today, Dec. 23 21 an agent (agent ID stopped by my home and stated that as a result of *** reaching out to Inspire, you all have to do a customer audit for them. The issue, she stated, was that *** may have accidentally overcharged us on a specific portion of our bill. As a result, it was her duty to follow up on a list of *** customers to follow up regarding the overcharge. When I said that seemed odd, because shouldn't the companies share customer information, she said that that did not happen in this instance. Coincidentally our landlord had let us know a *** rep may be coming by for a check-in, so I asked her if this was related. She said, "yes." I explained that I'm unable to speak to electric billing as my spouse takes care of that... she stated that she would still need to know more information and provided me with her personal cellphone number. It wasn't until I took a photo of her badge and stepped back into the house that I noticed that it states, "not a utility representative on her badge in small lettering." At this point, I texted her directly, explaining that it was entirely deceptive in the way she framed the conversation, and I asked that she not return to my home, to which she responded, "I'm sorry you misunderstood me." There was NO misunderstanding. She fraudulent and very confidently misrepresented the nature of her business with me solely for me to disclose personally identifiable information. In this case, my mail. If I see her at my door again, I will call the police and file a legal complaint with your business, no questions asked. This is no different than phishing, except this is door to door. Security is, above all, an essential factor in running an effective business today. If these practices trick people into signing up for your sales pitch or service, we will see how long that lasts when someone has proper legal representation in a court of law.

Due to my long term illness, my son had taken over the chore of paying my household bills for the past year and half
Due to my long term illness, my son had taken over the chore of paying my household bills for the past year and half. Before then I always paid my electric bill online and I rarely viewed my bill. I just paid the balance due. Now that my health has improved, I have resumed my responsibilities. Upon viewing my electric bill, I've noticed that my billing has nearly doubled. I contacted The *** regarding a company by the name of Inspire, charging me .07 per Kwh compared to The *** of .04 per Kwh. I informed Illuminating that I never authorized Inspire to represent me. The *** rep informed me that according to their records, Inspire informed them that they received my info from a copy of my billing. I informed him that is not true. I have never authorized anyone of entity, nor have I applied them with a copy of my billing. I reached out to Inspire where their rep, Ebony, could not find any information in their system regarding billing under my name, phone number, address, my son's name, nor by the account number that is listed on my bill. The rep asked me if I ever shop at ***. She finally found my info via my email address. I told her that a few years ago, a rep at a display table informed my about windmill energy and asked if I would like to receive additional info via email. I told him yes, send me the info. That does not constitute and agreement for services. Since I did not authorize these changes, I asked a supervisor if they would reimburse all moneys that were charged over the price that The *** charged since I DID NOT AUTHORIZE their services. I was told no, fore I have used the services and they won't refund me. He says he has my signature and my email address. I told him, anyone can sign my name but, he said it's unlikely since it was signed ***. This is unlawful. There is no way you can claim I authorized any service when you can only produce my email address.
I have been an Inspire Energy customer since July at which time I was quoted an unlimited power plan price of $39.99 a month for a term
I have been an Inspire Energy customer since July at which time I was quoted an unlimited power plan price of $39.99 a month for a term of one year, which I accepted. At the near conclusion of that year contract I received a letter in the mail from Inspire stating that my contract was about to end and I would soon there after receive a new offer. I contacted Inspire via phone speaking with two different representatives from the company, the first stated that my new rate was not out yet to try back in the next week. The following week I contacted Inspire & spoke to Romel who stated that my rate would stay the same for another year at the rate of $39.99 a month, therefore I stated I would like to continue my contract for another year. Now, I received a letter dated December 1st stating that my contract would be terminated by the company as of the meter read date of January . Upon speaking with a representative of Inspire they cited this due to a computer glitch in the system that I was misquoted over a year ago which was only caught now. When I spoke to the representative I asked to speak with a supervisor at which time I was told that she held the same power as a supervisor & nothing could be done and would not get one for me. Therefore, after speaking with her I contacted the PUC and filed a complaint through them at which time I was contacted by Ian, from inspire who I was able to speak to however did not provide a resolution only cited again that it was a computer glitch. While speaking with Ian I stated to him that even if this were a computer glitch I had physically spoken to multiple different representatives via phone at which time even if they were only general representatives should have seen that this was a mistake and should have caught it. Therefore, I stated to him based upon this I feel as though even if this were a mistake the company had many opportunities to catch their mistake and should now honor the remainder of the contract as there is only approx. 6 months remaining. Although he apologized multiple times he did seem as though he was interested in providing a resolution only stating nothing would be done, at which time I stated I would file my complaint through the Complaintsboard.com.
Just found out I’ve been paying .40 cents a kilo watt. My bill says .14 cents. I’m absolutely sick over it. My billing is paperless and I honestly just thought my family used a lot of electricity. I cannot understand how this is legal and I hope they get a class action lawsuit.

How can I give less than one star? They scammed me in BJ's while shopping telling me that my bill would be $70 a month for the next 2/3 years. I told them my bill was over $300! How could that be! and they assured me it was so. So I switched to Inspire, and I am glad I read the spam email I got from them a few weeks later that discretely said my bill would be over $700 per month after a one month trial of $70. SCAM! AVOID!
Doesnt deserve 1 star. Scammed at BJs. was told it would lower my current bill it LITERALLY DOUBLED> No one call s back
This company asked me for some information while at Giant Eagle ( a grocery store) in Cleveland. Without my permission, they ended up calling First Energy and getting my account number and moved me to their services which was 2x as much as what I was paying. I have no idea how this can be legal. Be warned of this predatory company.
