I had been considering solar for a long time, but when I got quotes from other companies the math never ended up working out because my electric bill wasn't very high. After a dealing with a couple hot Clairemont summers and a leak in my roof I knew it was time to invest in A/C and a new roof. I reached out to Semper Solaris because I wanted someone that could do it all. Genevieve (my sales rep and primary contact in the project) walked through my options and I was pleasantly surprised the price with including A/C, roof and solar. I knew people that paid about the same amount for just solar. Once I reached out to Genevieve that I wanted to move forward with the project I was sent a bunch of docusigns and the project started in no time. I got A/C installed in about a week and then it took about a month for my roof and solar permits to get approved. I started my project in April and I had A/C new roof and solar well before June. Definitely exceeded my expectations considering I couldn't even get a roofing company to get me a bid for months. I even changed my roof color the day before my roof got installed. I had the team scramble to find the new color and they came through! I'm so happy they did, the solar panels blend in with the darker roof color just like I wanted. Now I just can't wait for this may gray to burn off so I can start cranking my A/C for pennies!
I purchased panels from Semper Solaris in the fall of 2018
I purchased panels from Semper Solaris in the fall of 2018. During that discussion, i asked if I could have an issue with birds getting under my solar panels and was told no as the panels are too close to my roof. A month ago I noticed some clumps of "dirt" beside my house and looked up to see grass growing out of my gutter. I called to get my gutters cleaned. The company came today and cleaned my gutters, the gutter on the side of my home where the solar panels are located was full of bird feces and under the panels there was a large amount of feathers, dirt, feces, etc. from the birds. The rest of my gutters were fine. The cleaning service told me that my panels and gutters were the worse he had ever seen. I had him take photos and video and I called Semper Solaris. I asked to speak to a supervisor. I was told I should have gotten a critter guard when I got my panels installed but this is not something they normally offer. I explained that I had asked and was told I did not need anything. i told them I paid 220 today to get my gutters cleaned and they said that it would cost me $200-$300 to get the critter guards placed and all they cold do is give me a 10% discount. This is information that I should've been told when I purchased the panels and definitely should have been told when I asked about it. I do not recommend the customer service provided by Semper Solaris as they would not do anything to rectify this situation. Thank you
First and foremost, Id like to thank the company for giving me a job opportunity here. Id like to start by saying I think the job here working for Semper Solaris was amazing although the pay for the job was not worth the amount of work they threw at you. We get paid the same amount as a chik fil employee, $17 an hour, for taking on critical tech support roles, we are worked to the bone, and expected to do it with a smile on our faces. When I work every single day and I'm an asset to the company and have great production numbers and I'm not appreciated for it, it really brings morale down, I worked for the service team and they constantly add more work to the table, add more work with zero pay incentive. I've been with the company for over a year, they just hired three new agents for the service team, and I was just training a new agent yesterday. Today I was let go for "staffing reasons" I've had no write-*** and I had no heads up. They told me this story about how it was due to cutting staff for labor and it was happening interdepartmental. Really sad how they just work you to the bone and when they decide that you are no longer needed they just let you go with this story about staffing cuts when they just hired THREE NEW PEOPLE. I don't recommend anyone working for this company ever get too comfortable with your position because they will let you go and give you this story about why you were let go for no real reason or one that doesn't really make sense. Unfortunately, my review for this company is, understaffed, poor pay, no real team support, the team basically took care of itself, and management was always pulled in 7 different directions, so we had no real leadership.
Some of the other companies didn't want to come out to my home. They preferred to handle everything over the phone. A few even had the wrong address. Some companies didn't have the availability to visit, and their communication was unclear. The representative from Semper Solaris took the time to come out and thoroughly assess the situation. We had to reschedule the final inspection a few times, which was a bit frustrating, but ultimately, it worked out. My experience with my consultant from Semper Solaris was excellent. I have no issues reaching out to the consultant, and I always receive answers to my questions.
I had the best experience with everyone I came in contact with or spoke with from Semper Solaris. I love that they have veterans working for them. I would call them again if I need a new roof or a new heating and air conditioner. I have told my family and friends how happy I am to have Semper Solaris install my solar panels. Thank you Semper Solaris.
The contract, evaluation, employees were all excellent to deal with. The project moved ahead quickly and we are very pleased with the purchase.
MY HUSBAND AND I PURCHASED A SOLAR SYSTEM FROM SEMPER SOLARIS SOLAR
MY HUSBAND AND I PURCHASED A SOLAR SYSTEM FROM SEMPER SOLARIS SOLAR. WE SIGNED OUR CONTRACT ON MARCH 31 ST, 2020. THEIR ADVERTISING SAYS THEY CAN COMPLETE THE PROJECT IN 4 TO 8 MONTHS. HTEY COMPLETED OUR PROJECT AND TURNED IT ON FOR THE FIRST TIME ON MAY 1O TH 2021 , 13 MONTHS - OR - 405 DAYS LATER. THEY FAILED 4 INSPECTIONS BY THE LOCAL UTILITY (SMUD) AND THE COUNTY BUILDING DEPT. (PLACER) THE DRAWINGS AND PLANS FOR THE SYSTEM DID NOT MATCH UP TO THE CONSTRUCTION THEY DID. THEY FAILED TO PUT IN THE EMERGANCY SHUT OFF SYSTEM AS REQUIRED BY THE COUNTY AND SMUD. WE HAD WATER DAMAGE INTO OUR BEDROOM FROM THE ROOF TOP PENETRATIONS FOR THE PANEL RACKS. IT TOOK THEM 3 DAYS TO RESPOND TO US WHEN WE NOTIFIED THEM OF THE WATER DAMAGE. IT FILLED UP A 2 GALLON BOWL TWICE. THEN WE HAD TO MOVE OUT OF OUR BEDROOM BECAUSE I AM ON THE LUNG TRANSPLANT LIST AT STANFORD HOSPITAL TO PROTECT ME FROM POTENTIAL MOLD OR MILDEW FROM THE WATER DAMAGE. IT TOOK THEM A MONTH AND A HALF 1 1/2 MONTHS TO TO THE REPAIRS TO OUR BEDROOM CEILING. WE MADE $1400.00 IN PAYMENTS ON THE SYSTEM TO THEIR FINACING COMPANY BEFORE WE GOT THE SYSTEM TURNED ON. WE LOST 6 MONTHS OF ENERGY PRODUCTION BEFORE THE SYSTEM WAS TURNED ON. WE ASKED TO TALK TO THE OWNER MORE THEN 10 TIMES AND WERE TOLD THEY DON'T TALK TO CUSTOMERS. FOR ALL OF THESE REASONS AND MANY MORE WE WOULD INCOURAGE EVERYONE AND THEIR FRIENDS AND THEIR FAMILIES TO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH SEMPER SOLARIS. WE HAVE HEARD THEY ARE TRYING TO GET INTO THE HVAC INSTALLATION AND MAINTENCE BUSINESS, WE CAN ONLY SAY IF THIS IS HOW THEY TAKE CARE OF CUSTOMERS LIKE US, STAY FAR AWAY FROM THEM! PATSI AND DAVE
Overall a good job was done. They were on time, professional and delivered wht was promised
Semper Solaris recently completed my solar and Powerwall project. I'd definitely recommend them. My representative was very professional and personable. He took the time to thoroughly explain everything to me, from the solar system to the battery backup to the installation process. He asked questions to understand what my desired outcome was and he designed a system that met my needs and budget. He also set proper expectations up front for all of the phases of the project. This was helpful because I knew when to expect things to happen and when there were going to be quiet periods, such as waiting for the Powerwalls to be available.
The Semper Solaris installers did a great job at my house. The installation went well, looks clean, and passed inspection the first time. The installers were professional and courteous, and they were always willing to walk me through what they were doing during the installation. I was happy with the rest of the Semper Solaris support team as well. They were able to answer my questions or follow-up on my concerns in a timely manner. They also completed the necessary rebate paperwork quickly, so I got my rebate check in the mail within weeks of my project completion.
I had solar panels installed on my old house, and when I relocated to my new residence, I was certain that I needed to invest in solar energy again, otherwise I wouldn't be satisfied. The advertisement caught my attention, prompting me to make a call. Subsequently, a representative visited my home and thoroughly impressed me with her expertise. I had previously spoken to a gentleman from a different company, but she surpassed him in knowledge and service. She truly deserves recognition for her work. If you're considering solar energy, I recommend Semper Solaris. They are proficient and understand the intricacies of their business. Make sure to request the representative who assisted me; her expertise is undeniable.
Semper Solaris operates as a solar construction company with a focus on credit services. They have twice attempted to persuade me to accept a $34,000 loan to finance solar batteries, each priced at $13,000, despite these being fully reimbursable through the Pg&E self-generation rebate program. My initial interaction with them occurred in 2019 when I first sought the self-generation rebate. A 'developer' was required, so I engaged with Semper Solaris. However, after a negative experience with their sales representative, I withdrew from the discussions. Later, due to Pg&E's depleted funds, my application was put on hold. When I heard about potential new funding, I reapplied and was granted the full rebate. The process mandated a developer once more, as handling it independently was made overly complex. Initially, I approached Infinity, who lacked Tesla power cells, then turned to Semper Solaris, who claimed to have a sufficient supply. Upon informing them of my approval for one battery, they suggested I purchase two, leveraging my existing approval. Anticipating future power needs for a house expansion, I consented. They then advised that I secure pre-approval for a solar loan as a precaution against potentially not receiving the rebate, which struck me as dubious. Nonetheless, with my rebate approval in hand, I proceeded. Fast forward a year, with the system operational, I received a request for my ID and other documents to finalize a loan. This was perplexing, as the rebate from Pg&E was intended to cover both batteries in full. Pg&E indicated they were simply awaiting Semper Solaris's final submission to issue payment. I then received a voicemail from Semper Solaris with a threatening tone, demanding contact. After speaking with two representatives, I clarified my refusal of the loan, realizing that their profit likely stemmed from selling credit and accruing interest. I offered to return the batteries, rejecting the loan, but they declined and directed me to their legal department.

I saw a Semper Solaris commercial on T.V. and called them right away. The representative was on time, courteous, patient, and thorough. We purchased a second solar system and two Tesla Powerwalls so we could become a 'Self-Powered' home. I'm a veteran (Navy) and love to support veterans whenever possible! I highly recommend Semper Solaris and their team.
I signed a roofing contract 10/17. They inspected the roof 11/3. I still have no roof or any regular contact from the company. I NEED A ROOF asap.
My Sales representative was very competent, honest, and responsive! Her team expanded my existing solar system, adding 14 additional panels and a new inverter in one day. Semper Solaris kept me updated as the project progressed from configuration and permits to completion. You're in good hands with Semper Solaris!
Thursday December 9
After a year and a half of frustration and delays, today my solar installation is complete. I had problems with every part, from the initial contract to basic installation. Repairs from weather damage, timelines, and promises were broken.
SemperSolaris finally put a strong and understanding female in charge of my project about four months ago. She listened to my complaints. She checked the facts and progress. She offered solutions and follow through. I found new confidence in her support. She started checking in weekly to see if I was getting services that were promised. And, she communicated with people at her end to identify issues and help solve them.
The project manager was running the timeline on my project and monitoring her own promises. She is a great listener and took extra time hearing my thoughts and understanding the age gap in today's technology versus my 74 years.
I highly recommend her as the person who got it done as promised.
Semper Solaris was awesome!
Semper Solaris was awesome! Our personal representative Rhami H was on top of everything from start to finish. He was very responsive with our assessment, solar analysis, price quote to installation and after. He responded to any questions & concerns we may have had with patience & no judgement. Rhami listened and helped us figure out our end goal and what we wanted to accomplish with a solar system. Rhami kept us informed every step along the way and followed thru with us after the install as well. Rhami came highly recommended by our neighbors who also install solar with Rhami & Semper Solaris. They were right! He was our "personal representative." The installers were great too. The best part was that the complete install took only 1 day. Of course we had to wait for SDGE to make the final connection a few days later but Rhami stayed in touch with us. All the workers were clean, courteous and respectful of our home and our time. We felt confident with the install knowing that the company also knows roofing and that they would take steps not to damage the roof. We've had no service issues or problems. Anytime we've called for just general questions Rhami answers within an hour. The fact that Semper Solaris is Veteran owned and hires veterans was a bonus. It was a deciding factor in contacting them in the first place & purchasing from them. They didn't disappoint. As a veteran family ourselves we appreciate their commitment to the community and to military families. Thank you to Rhami and the employees at Semper Solaris. Our solar system quest couldn't have gone any better from the very start with Rhami, to the installers, the connection process and the additional follow up. Thank you Semper Solaris - Oorah! Semper Solaris is a credit company doing business as a solar construction company
Semper Solaris is a credit company doing business as a solar construction company. They have tried to pressure me into taking out a $34000 loan twice to pay for solar batteries that cost $13,000 each and are fully covered by Pg&E self-gen rebate *** The first time i encountered them was in 2019 when I first applied for the self gen *** I had to have a 'developer' so I talked to semper. I had a bad experience with their sells rep and quickly pulled out of talks. Subsequently, Pg&E ran out of funding and my application was stalled. A year later, rumors of another round of funding so I went through the process again and was approved for the full rebate. Again I had to have a developer as they make it extremely difficult to do it yourself. After first going with Infinity, who never had Telsa powercells, I contacted Semper Solar who said they had plenty in stock. I told them I was approved already for one battery and they insisted I should get two since i was already approved. I want to build on to the house so one day i will need the extra power, so I agreed. They then told me that I need to get pre-approved for a solar loan (whatever that is) just in case I don't get the rebate. Seemed a little sketchy, but I was already approved so I went ahead. Jump forward another year and the system is up and running, then I get an email asking for my ID and other documents so the loan can be finalized. Huh? I don't need the loan because PgE is buying for both batteries full cost. PgE informs me that they are just waiting on Semper to submit the final *** will cut the check. Semper leaves a threatening VM about "tracking me down" if I don't contact them. I finally talk to two different people and explain that I do not want the loan and that its not needed. It dawns on me thats where they make their money, selling credit and collecting interest. I told them they can have the batteries back because I am not taking the loan. They refuse & referred me to legal
The worst company I have ever dealt with in 40 years as a homeowner
The worst company I have ever dealt with in 40 years as a homeowner. They claim to be Marines but if the military were run like this our country would be highly endangered. There is zip information to the customer once they have made the sale. We get nice emails that say things like "Our team is working on it. Have a beautiful day". They required more than 80% of the cost paid to start the project and estimated it would be done in two days and approved in about a month. That was more than ten weeks ago Their nice polite crew damaged our main panel so they have to get a new set of plans and permits from the city and the utility to do the repair. Granted they are working under Coviid but they could have saved their reputation by being honest and transparent and getting their so called team to expedite repair for work they screwed up. Instead, just customer service scripts. For two months they refused to document the status of the fix-it job they owe us or the dates the forms were filed. I talk only to a customer service rep, never to someone on the engineering team who might know what is really going on or a real manager. The salesman has not returned calls I made three weeks ago. They refused to give me the name of the person scheduling the original work. I needed a recording of a phone call I had with them to verify the source of a separate problem but they refused to even discuss access with me. They are so decentralized that no one knows what anyone else is doing. HQ are in ***, Scheduling in Central Valley. My job in ***. Everyone is polite and produces zero results. I used this company four years ago for roof panels and it was a horror show of problems with their schedule and installation crews. They were so bad they gave me $100 gift card as compensation. I swore never to use them again but no solar company will sell the battery project unless they have your roof project so I had to use them again. Looks from they reviews like they operate on the 80/20 rule. Do a good job 80% of the time and just *** up the 1 star reviews for the other 20%. Never any apologies or offer to make things better.
This is a warning that this company is completely inept
This is a warning that this company is completely inept. I contracted to have 4 different jobs with them over 14 months ago. The final job (solar and battery installation/operation) was just completed less than 3 weeks ago. However, the key is that they have been fully paid since January . What that means is that I have been paying for solar without the benefits of solar for 5 months. I have been double-billed, by the solar company and the electric company. Now, I get it...every job gets delayed, especially with a pandemic. However, this was not due to any unforeseen delays. The delay was due to lack of licensing and inspection/approval from the city. Again, I know that you're thinking that this is not Semper Solaris's issue. However, this would be incorrect. When I checked with the city, they informed me that they did not have a request for inspection and that they were no notices put forth by Semper Solaris, and this was close to 5 weeks after they completed installation. Once the city inspected, they asked for a couple of clarifications and/or changes. And, true to form, Semper Solaris did not provide the necessary documentation / changes for close to 4 weeks after. At the time, I kept calling and trying to get this resolved with Semper Solaris. I was told that it would be taken care of and that there would be financial reimbursement after all of this was resolved. WRONG AGAIN. After completion, there has been no return texts, emails, phone calls, etc. from Semper Solaris. They have been paid, and no longer care to provide any service, much less communication. To name names, specifically, the customer service department, won't provide any updates. Our sales person, ***, has not responded to any texts or provide any information. And, the solar project manager, ***, has never returned a phone call after numerous messages and requests from me. To be clear, all 4 of the projects that I contracted with Semper Solaris amounted to just over $100,000. Yet, it took over 14 months from start to finish, and now I can't get any response from anybody. Again, I would encourage everybody to get a solar system...just not with Semper Solaris. There are many different options, so just choose another one. These guys are not shy about talking about their military backgrounds and integrity. However, they should be ashamed to even evoke any ties to the military, as this is such an offense to the people that serve our country.
They are incompetent
They are incompetent. Did a roofing and solar job on our house. Solar job requires electricity rewired. Their faulty wiring caused our air conditioning to shut down after few hours. Air conditioning repair man checked voltage & found only 96 volts to the condenser. We told Semper Solaris, they came out & within half hour told us everything is good! We believed them. A month later weather was hot again, and air conditioning shut down again. Semper Solaris refused to come out to our house. Electrician we called diagnosed what was wrong in less than an hour. We wrote Semper Solaris in an email what was wrong. We included pictures showing what needed to be fixed. Despite our email, Semper Solaris crew that came did not know what was the problem. When told about the problem, they left after deciding they could not fix it. Second crew came out two days later. After an hour fumbling around, the crew asked what was the problem. We asked if they saw the email and pictures. They replied they were not given email or pictures! The crew finally fixed the problem. Only took >1 month and three tries, with assistance of our air conditioning repair person and electrician. The crew that worked on roofing job left trash all over our yards. Semper Solaris bought way too much tile (we have +160 unused tiles). They also took more than six months to finish the job. They engage in unethical, illegal practices. For the last payment, we did not pay full amount because of what we went through. On our check we wrote "Full & Final Payment." They cashed our check then proceeded to call us looking for the remaining amount. Their right to claim the remaining amount is conditioned on their refunding in 90 days our last payment. That is required under California law (CA Commercial Code Section 3311). They never refunded. Once the 90 days passed, we told them they did not have the right to claim the remaining amount. They followed by violating the law again. Once told they could no longer claim the remaining amount, they filed a mechanics' lien on our house. Their right to file the mechanics lien expired 90 days after they finished the work. CA Civil Code Section 8412. They filed the mechanics lien 133 days after they finished the work. Their lien also claimed extra amounts on top of the amount. Another thing they are not allowed to do under California law. We even wrote to them advising them of an unfavorable review unless they undo the mechanics lien. Apparently they wanted an unfavorable review.
I reached out to Semper Solaris as a professional answering their ad for sales work
I reached out to Semper Solaris as a professional answering their ad for sales work. After much research about their products, services and their outstanding outreach to U.S. Veterans, I was very happy to accept a phone interview with a person representing the company at their corporate location in El Cajon California. I am very busy with my own business and wanted to sincerely explore doing something that benefits Veterans since my own dad was a U.S. Veteran. After setting up a firm time in my schedule to speak with the representative of the company who asked me to set a certain amount of time aside, I waited for her call while working in my office. No call came in. I rearranged my whole Monday morning schedule for her call which we set up three days prior. Thus, I wrote this letter to her, and even sent it to the company via their website. I will not accept anyone who takes my time without respect for me as a valuable person. I decided not to explore working for them. I am happy to see beyond this opportunity. There are many other opportunities out there where I can reach out to U.S. Veterans instead of working for Semper Solaris. Enjoy: "Hi (name withheld) , I am very disappointed by our not connecting on the phone today. I set that time aside from my business to accommodate your call. I was never given a number to call you. Having made myself very well educated on your products and services via you website, I looked up all of your ten locations and chose the corporate number to call. I spoke with (name withheld) who said she knows you and would get my message to you right away. Guess what happened? Right after that call to your corporate office, I get a text sent to me from (name withheld) along with a link for me to reach out to "Semper Solaris" so that an appointment could be scheduled by one of your professionals to come out to my home and see how we could be helped with your products. (What? What happened to the interview. I'm not looking for solar on my home!) Would you call this professional? I don't. Thus, although I was ready to speak with you regarding the wonderful company that "Kelly Shawhan" and "John Almond" founded, especially being excited about the "Semper Cares Inititative"...I am no longer interested in speaking with you about the job opportunity. In my business, Customer Experience matters from the first contact whether it is email, a text, a phone call or person to person. I am very disappointed in your lack of care for my time and interest. Best to you and may you learn from this so that others don't experience what I have at your hands. (What a waste of my time!) Good Day!
After discussing with the Semper Solaris team, we opted for a Power Wall system to enhance our solar setup.
After a productive discussion with a representative of Semper Solaris, we decided to invest in a Power Wall system to complement our 39-panel solar setup. Considering the available rebates, federal tax incentives, and the overall benefits to our solar capabilities, the decision was clear. Once we completed the paperwork via DocuSign, the company promptly integrated us into their workflow. We received phone calls, emails, and texts to prepare us for the pre-installation site survey of the Power Wall. Impressed with the service, we requested a survey for an upgrade quote on our outdated energy system as well. On July 14th, Semper Solaris sent two teams for site evaluations. One team conducted a detailed survey for the Power Wall installation, while another, including an energy specialist, gathered data for a quote on the older system. The assessment of our electrical and solar setup was comprehensive, and we identified which circuits to back up during outages. The Power Wall's location and necessary equipment for integration were also determined. Concurrently, another audit was conducted on our heating system, examining the heat pump and ductwork, including attic inspections. Discussions on potential system enhancements were part of this thorough audit, aiming to provide us with options for either updating our current setup or installing a completely new system with the latest technology. We eagerly await their long-term comfort and cost-saving solutions. Semper Solaris has proven to be highly professional, knowledgeable, and skilled. They've earned a 5-star rating in all respects from us, and I hope others find this feedback helpful.
Semper Solaris is a predatory company
Semper Solaris is a predatory company. Do NOT do business with them. The only goal of Semper Solaris is to make sales, regardless of the lies or pressure they put on the consumer. As long as they make their sale that is all that matters to them. Semper Solaris DOES NOT care about their customers, period.Being a Combat Wounded Veteran myself, I was eager to give my business to a Veteran owned and operated company. Boy when I tell you I feel ashamed for doing so is an understatement.I called to have a Rep come to my home and explain Solar to me and allow me to make an education decision if solar was right for me. However what I got was bamboozled and pressured into making a decision on the spot or "the great deal" he was offering was off the table. The Rep was pushy and even made me feel guilty for having him at my home and not agreeing to the sale. My tipping point is when he stated my monthly *** would be "about $4 to $8 a month" with the summer months, or high use months, being "about $120". Boy what a crock of lies that was. My bills on average have only lowered by about $30 a month, $30! Now factor in my $200 month Solar finance payment and I am actually spending MORE per month to have solar than I would have without it.It has been about 2 years since I have had the system and I have begged and pleaded with Semper to just give me answers. The only answer they are willing to provide is that it is my *** Providers fault and to take the issue up with them. I have contacted my provider, Imperial Irrigation District, who then passes the blame back to Semper. Finally I had to pretend I was interested in upgrading my system before they sent someone to my home. I felt bad for the new Rep because I ambushed him with print outs of past utility bills and usage reports from the SolarEdge monitoring. After over an hour of him reviewing all of my bills/usage he was perplexed as to why I am getting such high bills and he was convinced something was wrong. He stated that he would push it up to his supervisor to figure out what what was wrong. A few days later I got a phone call, the supervisor had advised the Rep that "he just has a crappy utility company, tell him to vote to get net metering". Several weeks later a sales rep called to see if I was still interested is upgrading my system, I related my experience to her to which she apologized profusely and said she would have a manager call me... I'm still waiting for that call, it's been months. If I could I would rip the entire system off my roof and mail it back to them. It makes me sick to my stomach every time I am reminded about having this system or for ever giving them my business. Now given the recent price increases by my utility company I am still only saving about $30 a month but my *** has gone up over $100 a month.Semper Solaris has put me into a financial hard ship.Shame on you Semper Solaris.V/r US Army VET Purple Heart
If I could give ZERO stars I would
If I could give ZERO stars I would. Today is January 13th. We began our correspondence with Semper Solaris in November , when we considered this company for the combination of roofing and solar removal and replacement. Although we were not informed at the time, not using the roofer referred by Semper would cost us an additional $1000 dollars from the original quote given by Mirco B. We were not made aware that the pricing would be honored only if we used the roofer they contract with. Regardless, we were able to negotiate a bit with Semper Solaris and reduce the $3700+ to a quote of $3060 for the removal and replacement of our solar equipment. We have yet to receive anything in writing, although I've asked for a contract and a warranty since 12/21. On 12/3 I spoke with Braulio C about scheduling our solar removal and replacement to coincide with our roofer on January 18th. He said he would have someone call to schedule. On 12/4 I exchanged emails with Eddie A. I stated that I was ready to proceed with the scheduling, but that I needed to see the original contract and have some questions answered before we start work. We spoke by phone on 12/5 and I explained our roofing work began on January 18th. He assured me that he could schedule within a few days of that date to coincide with this work. He told me he was often out of the office and couldn't return my calls. He assured me that he would get us scheduled and that I would be receiving written confirmation and warranty information via email that day. I never received anything. I waited until 12/10 to receive word from Eddie regarding our original contract, as I needed to check our original install date. I emailed him for an answer to my questions regarding the warranty, asking for the contract and written warranty to be emailed to me. On 12/11 I finally heard from Eddy saying that they would offer $3060 to remove and replace our panels. I immediately returned his email asking saying that I would like to schedule and that I had a few more questions. I left a message and emailed him on this day asking him to call me. I called several times for an answer. I didn't hear back from Eddie until 12/21 when he sent an email with the info I needed. I again sent back an agreement to schedule, via email, 9 minutes later. I continued to try to make contact to schedule our solar R&R to coincide with our roofing job on January 18th, on 12/27, 12/28 and finally, I heard back from a supervisor Tim M, on 12/31. He listened as I told him about the lack of response I was receiving from Eddy and assured me I would hear back from a scheduler that day. I did not. I spoke with Carli P on 1/7. She assured me that the work would be scheduled. I finally received a voice message from Mike (?) on January 8th, I tried emailing and calling Mike back, but got no answer. Then I left several reminder calls and emails for both Tim and Eddy on the 9th and 10th of January. As I told Eddy, Carli, Cheyenne, Mike, and the supervisor, Tim M, as far back as December 21st, and several times afterward, I was ready to schedule this removal a month ago. On January 10, 11th and the morning of the 12th, I made several calls and sent emails to secure our scheduling. I was told that Eddie A would CALL me back and schedule us. Instead, I got an email from Eddy, not a call, on the 12th, saying the work cannot start until January 26th. The Semper Solaris team has avoided my calls, emails and is now telling me that my roofer cannot begin his job, which was secured last month to begin on January 18th, until Tuesday, January 26th? I am an RN and I had to secure the week of December 18th off from work as I work nights and sleep during the day. The roofing work will not allow me to sleep days. It takes almost a month to secure days off. As the Semper Solaris company holds the warranty to my solar system, I now have to wait and try to reschedule the roofing for January 27th, the day after they remove the system. I have to wait so that my system has all the warranties on the equipment intact to continue our solar service. If I use another service to remove the solar panels, the warranty will not be honored. In addition to my experience with Semper Solaris, they originally sold a solar system in December, to the former homeowner of our home at a cost of $31,297.00. They sold the solar system to these former homeowners on a roof that required complete replacement (verified by our Home Inspection only two years after the installation) when we bought the home in August. It is now January and the solar must be removed and replaced because the roof must be replaced. The solar has only been on the roof for (5) years. Next, Semper Solaris is charging us $3060 to remove and replace the solar system. They stated that the warranty on the system would be honored, but I haven't seen anything in writing yet and I've been asking since November . The only people I've spoken with who show any semblance of responsibility and polite behavior from the entire crew at Semper Solaris have been Cheyenne S and Andrew M.

Semper Solaris performed poorly in the installation of their product and the city inspector has failed them two times. This failure has caused a tremendous headache for us the homeowners (my wife and I). We have had to make numerous requests to be off work to be present for these inspections and installations. Additionally, we have had to cancel our kids school days, as we could not take them to school on days that they demanded our presence in the residence. Also, we risked that all the foods in the refrigerator and freezer would spoil. Overall, it has been a horrible experience and we demand some type of compensation of consideration from Semper Solaris. However, this does not cure the hassle that we have had to endure during the installation ordeal.Account/Order/Tracking Number?-Name on the account: *** -Phone number in the account: *** -Address:

I purchased solar from Semper Solaris 3 years ago. I have had more problems than good with this solar company. My true up bill is more than any of my cohorts that have solar. I have a total of 54 panels on my roof and I have 4 people in my house. My true up is anywhere from $3000 to $5000 a year. I want my system to work properly.
When signing contract and emailing full set of plans and mark up from ***. I was told after several phone calls that they where working on drawings required by county. Then after six weeks was told they would not provide required docs.
Upon installation of a solar assisted power wall, this company destroyed every appliance in my kitchen due to a faulty wiring connection on their part. Although they reimbursed us for the appliances that were destroyed we were five weeks without any kitchen appliances i.e.; stove, microwave, refrigerator - the fridge was 1 1/2 weeks old. They told us to save receipts for the inconvenience and expenses incurred. We did and submitted them and thats when they continued to put us off and they refused saying; we need funding for the job first! Needless to say the power wall still does not work as promised and we have not yet been compensated for our loss so far. They have put a mechanics lien on our property and have made no effort to conclude this matter. The compensation we are seeking is less than $2500 for five weeks without a fridge. We have tried time and time again to resolve this issue but they refuse. The reason we havent yet funded this project is because we havent been taken care of. Anything that you can do would be so appreciated. Thank you! Also We have all the copies of our receipts to justify our expenses.
Company does not offer repair services of their equipment during holidays.
Over a year
Over a year.Let me start with that. We started this process with semper Solaris OVER a YEAR ago and we still do not have operational solar. It has been one excuse after another. We started last September and didnt get the equipment up until June. Even then its been just about 4 months and the install still isnt completed.A few highlights:- A worker sat in his car for approximately two hours waiting for the fire inspection. We then failed the inspection because they didnt put a smoke detector in the garage by the battery.- they completely busted through the wall, into my kitchen, during the installation of equipment.- another worker sat in his car for approximately 2-3 hrs waiting for the county inspection which we failed right away because upon opening one of the boxes the supplies were just sitting in the box and not even installed. My husband posted a review with a picture of the uninstalled equipment a month ago! We are no further along In The process!- there have been multiple no shows to appointments which we then waste our entire day. Latest of which was today. Finally got a text at 1:30 that they werent going to show up again. My husband and I are beyond frustrated. They have switched our project manager about three times already yet still no one can get the work done.We are keeping records of everything and unfortunately may have to resort to legal action. We have missed work days, etc. trying to accommodate just to get this done. We just want the service we were promised and have paid for. This was copy and pasted from my *** review last week.Today, 10/4/22 we got a text saying their next availability to come to the house is October 20th. Completely unacceptable.

Semper Solaris installled second solar battery in or around October . The wired incorrectly so none of the outlets in my dining room worked any longer. Had to pay an electrician $650 to rewrite correctly. Semper Solaris is stonewalling about reimbursement.
In March 2022, we agreed to purchase solar panels and batteries. We were notified 3 months later to obtain the loan and confirmed with the company the timing was correct, considering permits and installation had not been done. They confirmed it was all part of the process and the 3 month delay in the first payment for the loan would be enough time to sort out any potential issues and ensure the system is up and running. Its been 8 months and we still do not have a working system. This is a result of the company having unnecessary delays and incompetent mistakes in their designs, permits, and overall communication. They have assigned our project to numerous different employees throughout the months, all of who claim they are there to assist us, but yet are rarely available. We have maintained records of all the unnecessary delays that are not on the citys permit process or us, but soley a result of the companies failures. We have attempted numerous times to reach out to an executive employee, but are dismissed. As a result, we are paying an electric bill *** and a loan payment every month, and they have not made this a priority in any capacity.
Feb '22 - Present, 13k
Feb '22 - Present, 13k. Initial meeting was great, & reason why I chose them. But since that date nothing has gone correctly. It took them 3 times to get the proper permit, 1st time previous owners name, 2nd time wrong location for enphase box, 3rd correct enphase box location. Which at time of install was not actually used, so still not properly permitted. During install they also cut a phone line and didn't fix it because "NO ONE COMPLAINED". They told me because of placement they were going to give me a WIFI booster and they didn't now because of that my panels are not connecting to host to be updated. Also it is noted on my acct. that WIFI booster is necessary. It took almost a month for them to come fix the hole in my garage and that was done at time of Failed inspection. At time of inspection on July 15th found out the the wrong conduit *** was used so it didn't pass inspection. It took multiple calls and emails to get someone to contact me back to even talk about my acct and they said that there is only 1 person that knows what's going on and can fix *** out right now. July 22nd finally fixed conduit. July 28th 2nd inspection Passed and they finally fixed the hole in my wall. This was just their inspection saying my unit is ready, I still have to wait for SDG&E to come do the final approval and turn on my unit. Semper Solaris has received all the monies owed for a job that took months longer due to their faulty office/team systems. I don't know when SDG&E will be out, but until then I am paying a Solar bill and regular SDG&E monthly pmt. I am usually all about supporting Veteran ran business as I am a *** GYSGT, but I will not recommend them to anyone.

I had this company install a solar system in my house. The system has broke down 3 times and they would not lift a finger to pay me the money I spent to repair it myself. And they would not have anyone come out and fix it.
I contacted Semper Solaris in May because half the panels on a system that was installed and sold to a veteran ($49k) in 2018 had blown off and system was down. It took them almost 5 months and 2 incorrect inverters to fix the system (which I was told by technicians was installed incorrectly). I believe, due to warranty, Semper owed me money for electricity costs during such a long down time, at which time I realized electricity cost did not change and began to believe that the system was not connected to the grid or the meter. Its taken me over a year of emails, visits, Semper saying they cannot determine this, the electrical company needs to try and solve this issue. Finally SC&E inspected and stated that not only was the solar system never connected to the meter (never accounted for), but it had been mistakenly connected to a third party oil rig a few years back, and in an attempt to correct, they illegally accessed the SC&E meter and jury rigged a connection - incorrectly, I might add, so this solar system since 2018 has not metered any solar for this property. After a years worth of work, I finally am getting them to come rewire but they refuse to discuss and financial settlement. Am I forced to contact a lawyer? Is this fair?
I called and had semper salaris come out and give me a free estimate over a year ago. They told me A price and I Asked when I would officially know how much it would cost so I could make a final decision and they said after they did the inspection they would call me and finalize the details with me. I never heard back from them and tried to call several times to get an answer and they never gave me the answer but instead said I needed to wait because the details were not in. I then received a call a month or so later tell telling me they were ready to install and could come out the next day, But I had not yet heard how much it was going to cost. Because of this I just went ahead and canceled it. I could not get any answers from the company and said I would not be returning to them to do any business. A year later just today I received an email with a bill for over a $1000 for camp for canceling service. I do not intend to pay this bill because I had canceled service after they did not give me any type of clue as to what I would be purchasing. After I had cancelled, I later found a better offer for 10 times less than what they had offered me

Our family purchased a solar system from Semper Solaris. We have three problems:
1. We purchased solar panels and three Tesla Batteries for our home. The project was completed at the end of May. As of September 21, 2022, we have not been able to use the system. We call and email Semper Solaris, and they keep telling us to wait a few more weeks. Meanwhile, we are paying for SDGE and a solar loan.
2. We are supposed to be reimbursed for the three Tesla Batteries. We have provided all the requested documentation, including invoices and signed documents. However, they have not reimbursed us for the batteries, and we cannot get a hold of anyone to give us an answer as to when that reimbursement will be received. It's been since May 2022 that the project was completed.
3. SEMPER SOLARIS hooked up our generator to the system. It overheated and caught on fire. They came out to assess the damage to the panel and told us they would return in a few days to fix it. Several months have passed, and no one has returned our calls or updated us on the situation. We would like to be able to use the $60,000 solar panel system, receive our rebate, and have them fix the generator and panel that caught on fire.
Solar system complete failure after a blackout. This happened before and 19 out of 27 panels stopped working around May 2022. Last weekend there was another blackout and now the system is not producing energy at all. I have been trying to resolve this with Semper Solaris and the only option they gave me is to pay them again to fix the issue. They want *** dollars to replace the microinverters that are still covered under warranty. This is criminal and fraudulent. I submitted a complaint before they responded they were going to contact me and they didnt. Im at a loss here i do not known how to get some help on this. System is pretty much worthless now no production and i still have the loan and a power bill.
Semper Solaris installed solar panels on my property in the month of July 2022 and as of October 6, 2022, there has been no inspection of my Solar System. On the 27th of September, I went to the city building department to inquire about the progress made. The response from the department was that Semper Solaris had mistakenly tried to apply an approval from my property to another project, resulting in a delay for my inspection. The city official informed me that resolving this issue would take some time, which I understood after discussing it further with them. I received a project update on August 25, 2022, and another update on October 4, 2022. Over the last three months, my electric bill has been between $500 to $600, and I am left wondering who will compensate for these costs. With panels installed on my home that are not operational, it's clear that Semper Solaris has demonstrated a lack of integrity and unreliable business practices.
Semper Solaris installed my roof and solar
Semper Solaris installed my roof and solar. When the sales rep informed us that they are a veteran company and they do all their own work we were impressed and it helped us with choosing this company to do both projects. On day one of install for the roof, the trucks that showed up said Reliable roofing and not a single person spoke English. Apparently we were lied to by the sales rep, when I asked him he confirmed what we were told and said he didn't know they subcontracted. After the roof was installed the water heater exhaust pipe wasn't connected to the roof. I contacted Semper Solaris and they "fixed" the problem quickly, next day. I checked on it and it appear they connected it to the roof from what I could see in the garage. After the entire project was completed the garage seemed very musty. Shortly after the install was completed our water heater started leaking which was odd and I thought it was just coincidental. I reach out to a plumber to replace the water heater and shortly after removing the heater he called me over to take a look at the roof. The exhaust vent was connected to a *** but no vent was cut in the roof which could have led to the premature failure of the water heater. He said he would *** be separately for the vent and cutting a hole in the roof and doing the job properly, that should have been done by Semper Solaris. I reached out to my Semper Solaris roof rep who said that they'll cover the cost. Over the last 4 months, I've sent emails and made many phone calls to be told the same thing, "we'll get back to you in 48 hours." I'm still waiting for and answer which I'm assuming is they aren't going to cover anything. I've reached out to many people at Semper Solaris and no one is willing to give me an answer just saying they'll get back to me.

Semper Solaris in *** connection was ever accomplished
Semper Solaris in *** connection was ever accomplished. They abandoned these Powerwalls and related equipment within our garage "for safe keeping". Four weeks later I am notified they wish to cancel our contract, but only at terms greatly to our loss. On 6 January 2022 I receive from Semper Solaris the contract, wherein they sell me the Tesla Powerwalls and related equipment for the entire $24,525.20 paid them over the last 15 months. I consider this unacceptable, as I am paying them for work never attempted, let alone completed.I have not signed this unfair agreement. All I ever asked for was fair and equitable settlement. 1) Semper Solaris offered to recover all discarded material in our garage, then give us a complete refund of $24,525.20. Two things wrong with this offer. One, under the new rules for Tesla Powerwall sales NO COMPANY can purchase and deliver two Tesla Powerwalls within the next six months, and we lose our $26,400 PG&E SGIP grant. Two, we must trust Semper Solaris to actually redeem our full costs only AFTER they recover all discarded materials. As I no longer trust them at all, we would be stupid to trust Semper Solaris for a refund - they may claim anything, and have, and we are left with no bargaining position at all.2) Semper Solaris retains all our investments with them, and we sign away all rights within a non-disclosure agreement. We would now have to pay an additional $7,000 for installation with a new contractor. All I ever asked for was a fair and equitable refund reflecting the real expense of these two Tesla Powerwalls, which is about $10,000 LESS the than the amount retained by Semper Solaris. During 2021, when Semper Solaris purchased these Powerwalls, the INSTALLED price for two was $14,000. Current price for this same installation is $18,000.

Date contract began was October 26 and we had to wait until March 22, 2022 for the job to begin. From that day to current, July 23, 2022 there have been multiple problems! Semper Solaris advertisement is full of lies, its quite the opposite, no organization or communications and lack of respect.Semper doesnt vet their veteran sub-contractors! Not sure they are even veterans. The first crew installed a very large mast (because that was all *** had) bigger hole in roof, incorrect panel installed (not sufficient for the amount of breakers required). They attempted to run the grounding wire, outside around the front of our front doorsteps instead of under the house and not exposed. My husband had to stop them. They were let go. We were used as trial and error all at our expense, damage to our outer wall and roof. There were no layouts provided to All had to be redone by another team to unscramble the mess. There have been multiple teams coming to clean up the previous team's mess. There is a large hole in stucco exposing house to termites for over 2 months. Team after team, 3 project leaders and no communication. 2xs failed inspections over the past 4 months. We are not sure how the final inspection passed because there is something malfunctioning, no electricity can go through.Project manager *** said on July 20th, looks like the system needs to be turned on. Two guys came and consulted on the phone because the system would not turn on, the unit is malfunctioning no connection. No follow up! We've had to constantly call to see what the next steps were. My husband told them he was calling Complaintsboard.com and now they want to come on Monday, July 25, 2022 to patch the wall and try to get this system to work. Amount of contract: $42,705.00 Change order: $9,891.00, new total: ***. Semper has taken all payments as of July 7th. The system is not working as of today.

On 10/20/2022 I signed a contract with Semper Solaris to have 4 solar panels installed on my roof, and also install an Enphase Encharge 10, battery. I already have 10 solar panels on my roof, and wanted more. The salesman, who came to my house, was named ***. I signed the contract while he was there, via Docusign. The contract was in the amount of $19,765.00. Later that day, *** emailed me that his boss would not allow such a small installation for that price, and there would be an additional $2,400.00 charge for that. I agreed to the price increase, and signed that document that day, via Docusign. I had provided *** with a voided check, to be used to make an ACH withdrawal of $1,000.00. That withdrawal was made on October 24, 2022.When I first called Semper Solaris, the very first question that I asked, was if they could add panels to my roof. I told them that I have a stone coated steel tile roof. I also told this to ***, while he was at my house. I have previously talked to solar contractors, who were unwilling to put panels on my roof, but I had found one contractor (***) who did install the 10 panels that I have now. While *** was at my house, I showed him a printout of the brackets that were used to install my panel racking system, and explained that the steel tiles were individually removed, the brackets were installed onto my roof deck, then the tiles were reinstalled. *** assured me that Semper Solaris had something similar, and could do the job.Yesterday, October 2, 2022, I got an email from ***, telling me that that the company will not install on my roof as it is. There is nothing wrong with my roof, except for the type of roof material, yet they propose to do a reroof of my house, with an additional fee of $300.00 per panel to remove and reinstall them. Please see the uploaded word document for the rest of the explanation. The contract and price increase are uploaded.

2/20 Signed for solar panel installation, and and paid $1000 deposit
2/20 Signed for solar panel installation, and and paid $1000 deposit. 2/22 Email from project mgr that we would be hearing from them periodically. never heard from him/them again. 3/15 I was told all 3 units in the bldg would be one project. I emailed and told them I wanted to move forward immediately and not wait for the other 2 units. Also, asked for my project mgr's name. I never got an answer on that. 3/15 Response from Semper said permits would be submitted Wednesday 3/18. 3/24 I received an email that there was a document I needed to sign before permits would be accepted by city. Once accepted it would be 8 to 12 weeks. 3/26. Received an email that permits were submitted. (I found out later fees were not paid) What are they doing with the deposit? 4/28 Email stating permit is still not opened by city. (fees still not paid). 5/18 Email stating multi-family units take longer to process, but should be issued by June 11. 6/12 I email about permits since date passed. Was given another date of 6/30. 6/28 Received email that they could not call the city. 7/12 I asked for my permit number. I looked it up and it said 'Canceled'. 7/19 I emailed Semper and asked why it was canceled. They said it was a mistake on the city's part as they updated their system. I called the city, they said not true. They were asked to resubmit. 7/26 Email stating fees were paid on 7/22 along with re-submission. I was told they were paid March. I returned from vac. on 8/10 and contacted Semper again. I was still put off saying 'its the city'. 8/24 installation occurred on one of the units. I called Semper twice--no response. I then called the City and was told the fees were just paid on my project! Having lost all confidence that they were competent and after being lied to constantly, I canceled project. They refused to return deposit, I fought for a partial which I got. The other unit caught in this fiasco got a full refund. I would expect the same.

My husband and I were going to have solar panels installed on our home but due to a death in our family, which we incurred a lot of unexpected expenses for, decided we couldn't move forward at this time. I reached out to our sales representative to explain our situation and let him know we are going to have to wait on the solar panels. Though he said he understood, he kept trying to talk us into going with a smaller system and I told him it just wasn't a good time for us. After going back and forth with him, he finally realized we were not going to be talked into the service he sent an email saying that due to the cancellation we will be charged cancellation fees totaling $1785.89. I called customer service to speak with a supervisor regarding this fee and was told the only person I can speak to about this is our representative and they would send him the message. I received an email from the representative on 7/15/22 thanking me for reaching out and that I can discuss the fee with him and he will see what he can do. I received an email from him on 7/16/22 saying he is trying to find ways to get me out of paying the fees and maybe a smaller system is the better path. I let him know that was not an option at this time and he said if we would go with a smaller system he would be able to eliminate the charge of $1785.89 otherwise, if we don't move forward, they will charge us $1785.89 for cancelling. I was sent an email asking when we will pay $1785.89. I asked for an itemized invoice because I don't understand what we are being billed for. Their response was they don't send itemized invoices. Each time I have received emails asking for payment I have responded the same way. Finally, on 9/12/22 I received an email with the same request but the permit receipt was attached. I asked for a breakdown of the rest of the charges and she typed out some numbers and emailed them. I feel like we are being taken advantage of and charged for work tha

I selected Semper Solaris over other providers although they were one of the highest bids
I selected Semper Solaris over other providers although they were one of the highest bids. I liked that they said they used veterans for their workforce. It was a subcontracted company that replaced the roof as well as a subcontracted company that installed the solar panels. I doubt that there were any veterans involved in either project. When the system was turned on my app said to purchase a Consumption Meter. This surprised me as in their estimate they showed a production/consumption graph which I assumed I would be able to track. I contacted Semper Solaris and was told that they do not install consumption meters, no further explanation. I was also told that in 500 projects that I was the first to request consumption meter be installed. I found that incredibly hard to believe.I purchased the equipment needed to monitor consumption even though I had already purchased it. It comes with the equipment that was installed. I wanted to contact the subcontractor who installed the system so I could ask him a couple of questions and get a quote for installation, but Semper Solaris refused to supply their contact details even though this is in our written contract: PROTECT YOURSELF FROM LIENS. You can protect yourself from liens by getting a list from your contractor of all the subcontractors and material suppliers that work on your project. Find out from your contractor when these subcontractors started work and when these suppliers delivered goods or materials. Then wait 20 days, paying attention to the Preliminary Notices you receive I hired a Gold Certified Enphase installer to add the equipment for consumption monitoring. The charge was $500 in addition to the $67.31 I had to pay for the equipment that I had already paid for but did not receive. His comment: It's unfortunate that they were not installed at the time of installation as they come with the Envoy IQ Combiner and should be included with installation. It is also interesting to note that Semp

Semper Solaris did our original install of our solar system late 2015
Semper Solaris did our original install of our solar system late 2015. Install went fine and system worked great. In 2020 we wanted to replace the roof and have Semper Solaris remove and reinstall our system in order to maintain our warranty. At first Semper Solaris sales rep said they would only do the "R&R" if we had them replace the roof. It took multiple calls to their to finally get this rectified and get the worked scheduled. in Feb of 2021 the system was removed, I had the roof replaced, and our system was re-installed about 3 weeks later. The next day our system displayed and "input B error". Upon calling Semper Solaris, their response was "we don't know what that is and it should go away...". They never sent out a technician to check. The error code did go away and we assumed it was all fine. Unfortunately, when we got our true up *** in November I noticed our system only produced 1/3 of it's normal annual amount. Yes, I am aware of cloudy days and the fact that the system was "off" for 3 weeks, but that does not explain this loss. After contacting Semper, they stated that in was a *** POWER (manufacture of our system) issue and that they would need to get a report from them. However the Semper solaris agents themselves acknowledged that the system was under performing to which I stated "it seems that something went wrong with your team doing the install" Well, after numerous unresponsive and unhelpful calls to Semper I reached out to *** POWER myself. They saw my case and noticed the significant loss they then scheduled a *** POWER tech to come and evaluate my system. Only then did Semper call back to schedule their own technician to come out. I wanted ***POWER to evaluate first, as I lost trust in Semper's integrity at this point. The *** POWER technician arrived and quickly found that the wires had been crossed/installed incorrectly. It's is now Jan. and Semper is still giving me the run around. This is poor workmanship and service

In July2021, I contracted with Semper Solaris to provide two Powerwalls and a Backup Gateway for my house with an expectation that it would be installed once permits and inventory came in. I built the house recently and wanted to maintain certain characteristics, choosing Powerwalls due to their ability to be decoupled from solar production and installed in a different location and had stressed this during visits from the sales rep and site assessor. On 23Sept2021 I received an automated notification that Semper had submitted plans that I had neither seen nor approved for permits. I immediately contacted Semper, received the plans, and detailed the reasons for my displeasure with the design, asked for corrections and for reasons for the deviations from my previous discussions with Semper reps. I attempted to get answers for 1 month and I was told it would be corrected. On 10Dec, I received a call to schedule installation of the batteries for the unapproved design, demonstrating permits were approved and Powerwallls were available. From that point until 15Feb2022, I continued to request answers, adding three proposed installation layouts after studying codes and the tesla backup gateway installation documentation. Semper repeatedly promised answers or calls from the design team. No calls or answers ever came. I had no escalation path to resolve these issues. On 11Mar2022, after Semper had permits and inventory >3 months and ~1 month after their last communication, I notified Semper that they had abandoned my project, that I did not believe them able to complete it to specifications, and that I considered them in breach of contract due to inactivity without blockers (sect 19 of contract). I received no direct response to either this or a proposed resolution that they refund the $1500 I paid less the cost of permits ($84.92) + ~$200 for design work if they transferred the permits to me.(shortened for character limit, emails and comm logs available upon request).

I had a terrible experience with Semper Solaris
I had a terrible experience with Semper Solaris. My contract began 5/25, & my solar still doesnt work. The initial install was scheduled for Feb 2022. No response. It was rescheduled for Sept 28/29, 2022. No response. The following week, they started. When installing the frames, they drilled holes through my ceiling. They ran out of parts, leaving two panels on the ground, where they could be damaged, for an entire week. No communication. The next week, they sent a new tech. He believed the job was done. Seeing it wasnt, & because he didnt schedule himself to do so, the install continued to go uncompleted. I called the project coordinator, and she gave me specific dates technicians would return. I took time off work, but once again, nothing. After another call, the project coordinator stated I was a priority, and a technician would be on site 10/11/22. Finally, technicians- I would highly recommend, showed up and finished. However, they only got one system fully running. The second is running at 50%. Only 9 of 17 panels work. The final techs believed the initial crew installed the wiring incorrectly. He told me someone would be back to fix it. It is now 10/19/2022, and Ive heard nothing. Overall, the communication has been poor. Going on one year and 7 months, my solar is still not fully operating. My ceiling on my guest house structure is damaged, the solar that has been installed isnt functional, and I have not heard from Semper Solaris to repair any of these issues. My *** electric bills were over $700, and my wife and I were hoping that our solar would have been installed by this point. I had even referred my parents to this company, trusting that it would be a great company to work with. I am not sure where communication was lost, but I am truly unsatisfied with the service provided by Semper Solaris. I am a Marine veteran and was very enthusiastic to be working with a veteran owned company, I'm disappointed and upset w/ everything that has happen.

We purchased Sunpower solar panels from Semper Solaris and have a 25 year warranty that has been contracted with Semper Solaris
We purchased Sunpower solar panels from Semper Solaris and have a 25 year warranty that has been contracted with Semper Solaris. We have had several issues with the panels, and more problems with the work done by technicians employed by Semper Solaris. For example, the first issue was that all the microinverters needed to be replaced, however, Semper Solaris hooked the wires back up wrong, The usage, the production and export to the grid was backwards. Semper Solaris techs came back to fix it and left the solar panels off, we had no production for 1-2 months. They came back to turn them on, and re-wired the same things backwards again. We started getting a huge *** from *** Prior to this, it worked well and we got money back at the end. Semper Solaris came out to the house 3-4 times in each year to re-do previous techs work and still not fixing it right. Now that Sunpower has a more accurate app showing more accurate information, I reached out to the owner's assistant (we had working relationship until this) asking for an audit of information from beginning to now. *** says its the solar panels, and Semper Solaris says its my house or *** causing the high bills. I requested an audit 3.17.22, and ever since then I cannot reach owner's assistant. I have always been able to reach her before via texting or cell phone call to her direct number. So I called the 800 number and after giving them the history, they blocked me from calling, now I cant get through. I called with another phone and was able to get thru. Maybe they marked me as spam to prevent me from reaching them. My warranty isn't being serviced by Semper Solaris as they refuse to work with me or answer my phone calls and abandoned their duty to uphold my warranty. I can't even get my panels cleaned without them, because it would void my warranty. We have a signed contract and they just completely stopped talking to me suddenly, when I requested an audit, which could show their negligence. Unethical.

AWFUL, DISORGANIZED, INCOMPETENT (2.5 yr disaster)Work with literally anyone else. I engaged Semper to install batteries and hook up existing solar panels I already had on my roof. This took them 2.5 years. I spoke to literally 30+ people over the course of the project, none of whom had any idea what was going on at any point. They failed inspection 3x. They installed a safety bollard in the middle of my garage turning it into a 1-car garage which obviously doesn't work. The cherry on top was that they reviewed my account and attributed this disaster to regulatory complications, when for instance my project languished in their design review for 6-wks while we underwent utility black outs during fire season and my children took freezing cold showers. These guys are clowns and one of the biggest time *** of my adult experience. Use their competitors.
My husband and I have had the best experience with Semper Solaris. The process started when a representative came to our house and gave us the run down. Her knowledge about everything really made us feel comfortable. Once we committed (we needed a new roof and solar), the project manager and his team were top notch every day on the job! Our situation was a little tricky because we started an addition right after solar was put on and the Semper team came back a few months later to complete the roof on that section. They were in touch with us the whole time and that was really important. Even our General Contractor mentioned how much he loved working with Semper Solaris. We can't wait to see how much money solar will save us over the years!
Was extremely happy with the whole process. Was kept informed of what was going on throughout the whole process. Everyone I spoke with were very friendly and helpful.
Very professional. Was kept informed of every step of the project. Crew was very friendly and clean. Job was completed sooner that projected.
