On Aug.30th 2010 an Intoxalock device was installed in my vehicle. Today is Dec.12th. Since the first day of installtion I have had 5 of the devices installed in my vehicle. I pay a leasing fee of $65 dollars each month and each time they send me a new device they expect me to pay aprox. $92.00 for the new device and not to mention a $15.00 sevice dollar fee to have it installed. Every three weeks this device calls for an automatic lockout service. Why do I have to have this device recalibrated when I have not been drinking! These hidden fees that fall on the innocent person that need this service so they can be in compliance with the program is being taken advantage of! I am curently on lockout because I refuse to send them $298.00 dollars before they send me a new device!

I have had account with Intoxalock for over a year. I have been trying to find when I can get the system removed from my car. I have left emails, I have called numerous times and I am not getting any answers. I feel that they are playing the system to continue to get more money ouf of me.

I will never use intoxalock anymore. I would be locked out for no reason other than they wanted to Charge me fees. I had false positives twice, and now I am still being charged a fee, months after having the device removed. Calling the bank this morning to put a stop to their unauthorized charges. They are a terrible company. So crooked.

PLEASE call around for prices for the calibration, system sounds & tint charging $48.71 Total. i found Para Driving cheaper price for $20. that saves me $20. for something else, i found it helpful in the intoxalock website in main menu press change service center, you need to look it up for the number for the places.

They flood you with letters asking you to use them. I did, hoping for clarification on when i was eligible. Instead, I called on a Friday, was scheduled for installation the following Monday after completing the form required for my state, PA. Installed, had to return for 2 additional "callibrations" @ $25/piece, ONLY to find out 2 months and $500+ later that I was not eligible for the device for another 6 months! It is almost impossible to actually speak with a person, but I was finally able after circuitous attempts, and I was told essentially that it was MY fault.

My rep in Harrisburg told me to just tell them and they would remove it...NO...after pulling teeth they scheduled me for 6 days later. HOWEVER, the next day they gave me a failure to comply with a rolling violation that was BS! They allow ~5 minutes to comply because you may need to pull over. It beeped, I blew, I passed, I continued, THEN received a 4 lock out notice that w/b the day before removal.

This company is corrupt, greedy and takes advantage of a vulnerable population. DO NOT USE

I was charged $40 for my battery dying so I was not able to get it for it’s calibration on time. Next time I suppose I’ll push my car to the service station. I guess they don’t believe in batteries dying. I asked to speak to a supervisor they told me they don’t have any.

On 12/14/2022 I had an ignition interlock device installed on my car. I have copd and don't enough air to start my car. I have not been able to reach anyone at Intoxalock to report my problem. I have called many times. And emailed them to no avail. I will keep trying as I do not want to keep paying $67.27 every two weeks.

I had my device removed two days ago and closer my account and now today Intoxalock is charging me $63.29 When I called I was told to call later and hung up on. Absolutely appalled. I don’t understand how they can charge money when I closed my account and had the device removed.

This company is just a money making machine with no regard for it's customers. The system killed a new battery & caused electrical issues. I BLACKED OUT trying to blow into machine & pent 4 dys in hospital as result.

I signed my lease and emeiled it in. I'm being told it's not signed!I'm beyond frustrated. Donna Clarke 07/30/[protected]-4240There was a yellow field I could not sign into, Signed other fields. Agent said that was ok . The incident occurred last week/ I forget which day.You are the worse company I've ever dealt with

Garbage company! They screwed me from the get-go

1. Signed up for the account and the customer service rep got my email incorrect.

2. I had to call back the next day as I had not received anything as they said, I would in my email.

3. Brought my car in on the scheduled install date, and they told the service rep that I was not the registered owner of the car, even though my registration was in the car and they were sent a copy of it.

4. They forced me to sign another waiver, stating that I was the owner of the car.

5. After install, I kept getting error codes until a violation occurred as stated on the LED. I was not breathing hard enough.

6. Took the car in, and the service representative could not get a reading either. Deemed the hand set defective.

7. With the new handset, I could not get my car to start, as it kept saying my breathing was not hard enough.

8. After multiple times, testing, still could not get a proper breathing with the rep standing right there with me.

9. Requested them to remove the unit as I could not deal with this any longer, and I am not mandated to have it until next month.

10. I called intoxalox to request the removal, and they charged me for the entire lease, with no regards for the fact that their equipment was faulty, I said, I would never recommend them to anyone, and the manufacture representative told me that I was a drunk driver and they didn’t care if I referred anyone to them anyway. no compassion, no respect! Making a bad situation much worse.

DO NOT USE INTOXALOX!

Money hungry, bad equipment, horrible customer service!

Hi,

I'm sorry your going through this! I dealt with them for 4 months of hell . Everything your saying is correct.

They prey on your guilt and fear of the courts and find ways to extort hard work tax paying citizens.

There are other companies out there to choose from. I wish I wasnt pushed into this by my lawyer. But lesson learned.

Also, just comply to get the device removed asap and don't drink and wait an hour or so before you drive. Once they detect ANY alcohol they will falsify the readout to say you were above the limit and give you another violation!

Join the FB intoxalock class action lawsuit page. I'm hoping collectively, if enough people agree, we can start another class action suit against them.

My device was required by the courts for 3 mo. ( I live in New Jersey btw and this was my 1st dui. Ive been driving for 25 years) and it didn't get removed until the end of the 4th month. I had to pay an extra month lease payment.

Make sure you change bank account info after your set to be removed if possible so that they don't keep charging you.

Once again sorry you're going through this. Hang in there and reach out if you need to talk.

This company is a fraud. I been locked out for the 5th time in less than 3 months. Every time i call and ask why all they say is that they can't help you cause is a valid lockout. They never give you a reason why they're charging you 75 for a reset. I have never tested positive for alcohol. I test about 40 times siince my truck is my office.

I started vehicle perfectly fine and when i left the grocery store it stated i was in a lockout due to " unauthorizedstart " . i talked with someone on the phone and they said that it took two pictures one of me sitting there , and than me blowing into the device.

My car battery died and when I got it started again the intoxalock device said I had a violation and now I have to pay almost $100 for a violation I didn't commit and I'm very upset about this. I shouldn't have to pay for a violation when I didn't violate. This device is trash and this company sucks and customer service isn't helpful at all.

I requested a 4 month compliance check and was failed because of a missed test. The device went off after I had shut the car off and I had left the vehicle.That's not right. I am Requesting the device be removed at no cost to me as it has been in my car well over the required year and I can no longer afford to pay for the service. Thank you

i had a similiar issue and switch companies... they are still trying to make me pay the 85 dollar violation fee.. but i never blew bad nothing... which is why these devices are put in our vehicles... to prevent us from drinking and driving.. now they have all these other violations to tack on fees that do not pertain to the reason why they are in our vehicles in the first place. the only violations should be if you're sitting in your vehicle and you blow dirty... nothing else... so using the legal system to create other fines and fees should be illegal.

intoxalock is trying to screw me now. they were all right till it came time to have it uninstalled.installed june 6th 2022. june 6th 2023 + 30 days.was my target date. they started dragging their feet. late sending paper work.emails to them drifted off into space, no response at all.the nationwide screening system works great for them.countless hours on the phone waiting.and if i do get through. they don't lie.there trained to NOT TELL YOU THE TRUTH. they have locked me out of removal page, saying I owe them money. truth is, they took money from me via the automatic payment program. 4 payments in august. then denying it. it's right there on my bank statement. now I have gotten a statement from them threatening me with lock out and or a fine.because i didn't pay them the extortion money for august.they are pissed because I shut them out of my account, they were payed with money orders via certified mail . I filed a complaint with the attorney general of illioios. because it states to send m o's or checks to carol stream il they think because they have whatever state it is behind them they can do as they please. I have fulfilled my commitment to pennsylvania. they are out of it.so I guess I will file criminal charges against them in Iowa. theft by deception. theft is theft.any way you look at it they've been getting away with it for how long ?

I am a 77yr old disabled Vietnam Veteran who has been charged over $300 in lockout fees. I have a pacemaker and a leaky heart valve thus very hard to breath hard, I would hope you would take into consideration and refund some of my charges, and quit adding more charges. Thank You

Removed my device in July and keep getting billed for roadside side assistance. i have called and was told 4 times now that it would be taken care of. Yet here i am again calling and writing this because still getting billed. Now this time spoke with A Danny who claims this time it will be done.

Tell me about it! I haven't had it a month and my bill is consistently 400 dollars. They don't tell you about ANY of the fees before you sign on. I have a Hardship Waiver with them and the set deal was 30 bucks every 2 weeks. The bill was 400 before I even left the parking lot. They are also charging me roadside assistance but it only covers 15 miles. I have to travel an hour away! This whole system with all of the companies are crap. I went with Monitech at first and that machine was rigged too. I never had enough breath to start the thing and it would fail me constantly! Monitech also did 500 dollars of damage to my truck and have yet to respond and make it right. They make it impossible to keep my license. This is extortion and they know it! The lady at customer service just reads off of a script and I can never get any help. It makes it not even worth it and someone needs to help us.

To festus farmer, and everyone else that has commented on this thread as I to have not drank in over 10 years but currently my license has been resuspended due to me not having the money to pay their absurd hidden fees , as well they kept my card on file without my authorization when they told me the total amt was $555.85 and I could pay it up front and I did , then everytime they it locked me out for whatever reason the told me they could not remotely reset it so I would have to have my vehicle towed in to service station which would cost me 400-500 dollars each time not to mention their lock out fee and the service center fee and the service center storage fee for sitting on their lot all weekend , I have not had a single failure or violation due to a breathe sample having detected alcohol, I QUIT DRINKING 10 YEARS AGO ! this company is absurd and breaking the law , I have read of ppl threatening suicide because they were finally getting their life back in track till encountering this pos company . Intoxalock is currently suspended in my state which is Missouri why ? I can't figure that out , but I need everyone that has had issues with this company in one way or another that was NOT DUE TO A FAILED BREATHE SAMPLE to contact me please I am trying to do something about this company ruining lives of good people that made a mistake and are trying to make.it right but this company is designed to make that impossible and for the people that cannot afford this [censored] , as long as you have not had legit failed breathe samples contact me at aaamaintserv@yahoo.com if we all come together we can change this

HoW is this company still allowed to do this? They need a fence in their lot for all the vehicles that have had to have lockout. Obviously it is a hard thing to manage in itself. Failing for no reason just so we have to pay more. I had to get it TOWED an hour away and I am still being charged a roadside assistant fee when I live an hour away! And now I have to have it towed AGAIN because they want to keep adding charges. My bill is currently 400 dollars. It is hard enough trying to work without license or a vehicle. Saving up every dime trying to get the payments paid. I was lead to believe the system would cost 30.00 every 2 weeks. Within a month my payment was 300.00. We need a union with this! It is extortion and they make it impossible for people to be able to get their life together again and it just adds stress and set backs. I am required to have it for 3 years. My dui was 12 years ago because I haven't been able to afford the ridiculous prices. It makes it not even worth it. Getting DWLR tickets are cheaper than this rip off! I will sue these people if I have to and for people falling for these fees...there are other places. Even though their machines are out of date and the thing fails every other day and have to pay 50.00 everytime. At least they offer a flat rate of 50 a month. This is extortion.

They mail you misleading letters that are borderline fraud posing as a legit official document that you will lose your license without their product. Then keep mailing you over and over, numerous complaints to BBB and Attorney General. They need to be shut down.
