Bought one tire
Being ripped-off!
I am a senior French Canadian 81 years old.
On July 6/23, I bought one Good Year tire at Jack Williams Tire Discount in Kingston Pa. $169.99 plus tax and balance $39.98. The shop installed the wrong tire.
The Manager as a condition to buy a tire told me that I had to get well alignment $99.99.
Later he told me that my van needed to change front 2 control arm $179.99 + $179.99 and R&R control arm $208.60 plus labor.
Then they changed front disc brake rotor $186.60 plus labor
They put new ceramic brake pads $79.99 plus labor
Brake system flush $99.99
They charge me $ 25,00 shop supplies.
At time I paid they asked me $1,351.25
They refused to give a bill statement that my wife insisted that we get
On the statement they never wrote my name/address and serial number of the WRONG Good Year tire.
Desired outcome: I am asking to refund me $1,142.28Plus let me replaced the wrong Good Year tire and balance $210.00Grand total $1,352.28
I need your office to investigate my complaint, I was ripped off at jack Williams garage in Kingston, Pennsylvania.
See billing statement without my name and address and no signed by me.
Lied to about price / damage of my car
I had called to get a quote for my 2019 Wrx brakes. 7/27/2023 around 7 at night. Pads and roaders front and rear. The manager quoted me 399.99. I asked over and over if that price was correct. He said total it would come out to 399.99 for mid grade and for the better ones around 450.00$. I said wow that’s crazy there must be a deal going on. I have a few friends that work for jack Williams who would have worked on my car but since my inspection was up end of the month and the price was so good I said go ahead I will let you guys do it. I called 2 more times on Friday the 7/28. To make sure the price was 399.99. Both gentleman said yes. I work down the street so I dropped the car off. I walked in the heat to my job and then when it was ready I walked back over to get my car. When I got there the price was double plus tax. He was rude and Called me a liar and I told him everything is recorded to check the calls because I knew I called multiple times. When I got my car. There was dirt everywhere my seat covers were ripped off my seat. My car was in sport mode I don’t know why they were joy riding in my car. I use super in my gas tank it is not cheap and they had used a quarter tank while testing my brakes. They were unprofessional and lied about the price. He embarrassed me In front of other customers and should not have been the manager because his attitude and composure was not okay. I was quoted a price and if he was wrong he shouldn’t have called me a liar.
Desired outcome: I would like to see what they can do to stick to their price point they quoted me for. The damages inside the car and the gas they wasted from joyriding in my car.
Faulty tires and work!
Two weeks ago we purchased four brand new tires and sensors costing $890 for our sons car to be safe. One day later his tire light was on and as we were driving past a highway the tire blew! We had to steer the car to make sure we didn’t crash! Put the dummy tire on and drove it back over and they supposedly fixed it One week later son says his car i...

Oil pan damage
On Sunday 6/4/23 I stopped into the jack williams in Dallas, PA for a tire rotation and oil change and was told it would be finished around 4. Returned at 4 to find out my tire rotation was complete, but they couldn't do my oil change because whoever did my last oil change messed up my plug... THEY PERFORMED MY LAST OIL CHANGE!. After the guy behind the...

My name is Michael Polon. I had new brake pads and rotors put on my 2020 Nissan Altima on May 27th at the Jack Williams Tire on Lehigh Street in Allentown, PA. About a week went by after getting them and my brakes were squeaking worse than when I brought my car in for service. I know brakes and/or rotors take a few days to break in so that’s why I waited a...

Had alignment done at a local Jack Williams Store (#1386)on 1/30/23. They first started off to tell me that my windshield wiper fluid was low, and I said that was fine, I am here for an alignment, and that has no bearing on that. They noted on invoice that in/out RF tie rod "has slight play", but still did service. At that time, had new snow tires on, and...

I took my car in for an all wheel alignment. I was notified via phone call that my car was finished and ready for pick up. Once I arrived I was asked if the technician had contacted me to explain and I said no the person checking out tried to explain that I needed a bolt in order for the rear alignment to take place And then communicated to ordering the bolt and bringing it back which I did then upon arrival the technician says I could not. They cannot do the service. The unfortunate part is no one communicated clearly with me in the first place that the car was not aligned in the back only the front which is not recommended I do not recommend Jack Williams very poor communication , misleading and waste of time
Desired outcome: Jack Williams should not have done anything to my car if they could not do all wheel alignment
1st our wheel alignment was done, and when we got home we found out all of out change”coins” we’re stolen out of our truck
We had a wheel alignment done at the Milford Pa location. I picked the truck up got home and my husband had to go somewhere, as we are driving he said they didn’t even do the alignment it’s pulling to the right. We called they told us to come back, we when back and the guy said yes it was done but something in the machine got hit and it knocked something out of place., the kid was very nice. We get home the next day my husband gets into his truck to go the car wash and all his change is missing when it was in there before i took out truck to the shop. Something needs to be done about this and i feel we should get our money back that we paid for the wheel alignment.
Services done were faulty and incorrect
I went to Jack Williams the week of thanksgiving (Nov 23rd 2022) was very happy they could get me in. I had a problem with my car, it was shaking. They said no big deal we will get it looked at, as I also needed my inspection and brakes done. I got my car back the next day, they told me I needed new tires, so I had them put them on, they also replaced my front tie rod, new brakes, new routers, and gave me the inspection, as a pass.
Was driving home, and my car was still shaking, I saw that they have driven my car a few miles, so I was confused as to why they would say they fixed it when they did not. I called the following week (December 2nd 2022) asking if they could fix this problem, because that was the main reason I was bring my car into the shop, again they said no problem, they would have it done the next day, perfect. No call that following day, it was about a half hour before closing time so I called myself and asked about my car, said they drove it but couldn't get it in. Nobody contacted me about this, I could have taken my car somewhere else, they also told me that I should not, yes, should not be driving my car, in the shaking condition it was in after the week before they passed my inspection.
I had enough, so I took my car to the family auto across the street, where I should have gone to begin with, they did a whole look through my entire car and found that my brakes were done improperly, my tie rod was unscrewed and loose and would have fallen off with my tires if I drove it any further, and that my new, brand new tires, that Jack Williams just had put on, were not aligned properly or balanced. All of which was services that I paid Jack Williams for.
I went to Jack Williams again yesterday (December 19th 2022) with all of my paperwork from family auto and what they made me pay for, and got completely downplayed and was told there was nothing they could do about it. Said the best he could do was give me $300 store credit, my bill for Jack Williams was $1800, they messed up every single service I was paying for, and could have gotten me into a serious accident if not dead for how my tie rod was put on, and for passing my inspection with the problem I had. I am not going to Jack Williams again, so I will not take store credit for all the faulty, wrong work they provided, and I deserve more than $300 for all of the services they messed up with.
Desired outcome: I would like to be reimbursed for all the labor Jack Williams wrongly provided along with all of the money I had to pay for Family Auto to redo their work.
Well I bought brand new tires last year in 2021 and they were with warranty from Jack Williams a year later buy new one

Desired outcome: Nick Email [protected]@gmail.com
Company ethics
I went to the Jack Williams service center at 4611 Jonestown Rd, Harrisburg, PA. I made an appointment a couple weeks in advance for all new tires at 9:00 am. I dropped my car off at 8 am when the store opened, asked how long, was told 3 to 3-1/2 hours as there was one person in front of me with 4 tires needing done. called at 10:30 as my car had not budged, was told it was going in now. at 11:30 car still had not budged. I cancelled the appointment and was told that it takes 90 minutes to change tires. with one in front of me mine should have been done at 11:00 then. Guess he does not know time. This guy lied to me multiple times now and I had an appointment. I did not walk in off the street. Horrible business practice and horrible ethics. Why would you lie to a customer that many times. I cannot understand how a business like this stays open when the word "service" is in their name and they have no idea how to provide good service for their customers and choose to lie to them multiple times instead.
Desired outcome: I want acknowledgement that this will be handled in some form or fashion Honesty is the best policy and when someone makes an appointment, honor it, or don't make it to begin with if you do not have an opening.
4 tire installation
good morning, I had appt date at 9 am for 4 tire install on tacoma truck on 9/22/22. When i got there counter person said they go by first come and would be around 3 hours. I waited and tires were completed 2.5 hours later which was fine. i live about 20 minutes away and driving home steering wheel was vibrating after 55-60 mph. I drove back out and person said leave vehicle and they would get to it later. I said i could not wait another 3 hours so he said bring it back out on sunday between 10-11 and he would put it right up on lift and recheck balance. When i went back out on sunday counter person working from before who told me to come out for rebalance check he took it back himself and came back 20 minutes later and said "that will be 87 dollars" and it was only slightly off said what. when i got back home i called again and said i dont know why i was charged for front end alignment when he had no authorization. he was to re check alignment. I said i can come out for 4th time at 8 am for re check balance and he said i will put you 1st in line on saturday morning. my major complaint was extra 87 dollars on unauthorized order. he did not say he was going to do alignment. He was to do re check. i am calling friday to make sure he is not charging again for the re balance cos it was not a alignment issue. my brother and i have aways gone to JW before and never experienced an issue like this. maybe it is the new mgmt. i was at JW harrisburg on colonial rd. thank you
Desired outcome: refund 87 for unauthorized order and re check balance without charge.

Service Completed on 3/26/22
I made an appointment for my car to have an oil change and tires rotated on 3/26/22. I told the person off the bat that the oil change should be free due to a past incident there and the manager gave me 3 free oil changes (which the employee said no problem and he would make a note) Then, I was told my car would be awhile because it's not a "high cost service". I was issued 3 free oil changed by the Manager Tony a year or so again for an issue that had happened with my brakes being done (My car was dropped off and they forgot about my car and never replaced the back brakes as scheduled) I live 3 hours away from Jack Williams and take my car there when service is needed but lately the service has been terrible and the employees have been extremely rude. (one employee even made a comment about me being female and not knowing what I'm talking about) The manager basically called me a liar about the oil change being no cost and refused to look into it for me. On top of that, they charged me the "middle" price for the oil change instead of the basic oil change I asked for and when I questioned it - they ignored me and didn't care. Very rude, unprofessional and took advantage of me being a female. I called the customer service number on 3/26 to let them know what had happened. I left a message and no one has returned my phone call.

Oil change
On Saturday 8/21/21 I took my vehicle to Jack Williams Tire center for an oil change. The service was completed fairly quickly. When I left the center I noted that a tire rotation I had requested was not done. I was leaving for vacation and I didn't have time to go back. While on vacation, I noticed a oil leak everywhere I parked. I checked the oil level everyday and I didn't need to add any oil.
When I returned from vacation I contacted the facility. I went there after requesting an appointment to get the leak checked. I was told they were fully booked and could not do the check. If I wanted to leave my vehicle they might "get to it".
I then contacted a facility closer to my home. I made an appointment for Thursday 9/2/21. I told them to check for an oil leak and rotate the tires. I needed a value stem repaired to one of my tire, to which I agreed. When the service was completed, the bill included an oil change.
Why would I request an oil changed? I asked the man at the desk. He said "that's what you asked for". I said "why would I request an oil change when it was done on 8/21/21" I wanted you to check for an oil leak"
This was totally unnecessary and I am very angry at this facility.
Desired outcome: Free oil change

My front ball joints are from two different manufacturers because I replaced left front control arm that came with a new ball joint. The inspector notice that the ball joints were different so he decided it was an opportunity to replace the second ball joint needlessly. Unfortunately for the mechanic he picked the new ball joint for replacement...this is a...

Over a year ago I brought a 2007 Toyota Scion in for inspection with less then 40, 000 miles on it and it passed inspection. The mechanic that worked on it called me over brought me into garage and showed me that the caliper or brake shoe had a little wear on it, he cleaned it up, and let me know eventually it would need to be addressed, but everything was fine and safe. A couple of weeks later I was driving to a Dr. appt. I started smelling burning rubber smell, like when a trailer locks his brakes up in front of you, , and that's what I thought it was. On the way home I continued to to smell the same odor. I called JW and made an appointment to bring car back in, less then 100 miles since inspection. I asked to speak to mechanic that worked on car previously, no longer worked their. They took my car back and had it on the lift for close to 2 hours and I noticed that they took it out for a road test several times. Finally the salesman came over and told me they found the problem and I would need either calipers or rotors I cant remember which one $300+ 3 weeks after passing inspection! I knew right away they were trying to rip me, said no thanks and left. Miraculously when I drove away the burning smell had disappeared, when they told me they did nothing to my car. I was not happy, nobody should be when somebody tries to steal from you! I decided to go back to NJ where Im from and have a 40 year+ A1 mechanic take a look at my brake system, but didn't tell him what had happened to get an unbiased opinion. He found the same minor wear as the first mechanic but found everything else fine. I then showed him the $300+ estimate and I wont tell you what he said, A lady might be reading this, but stated the obvious. They tried to rip you off! A year later when the next inspection was do, I took it to a Good Year dealer and it passed with no problems. I had put less then 2000 miles on it. I met a man in the supermarket a few months ago and somehow the conversation got on car repairs and he told me virtually word for word what I Just described to you happened to him at same dealer. Fast forward to this past weekend and my new neighbor told me about an $800 repair they told him that he needed at the same JW, which was performed and it didn't correct the problem. He went to a different shop an it was fixed for less then $100! Im not looking for money. Im hoping this will help you go after these cheats so it doesn't happen to anyone else. These kind of business practices are why SEARS is no longer allowed to do inspections! I hope you can help!
Customer service nightmare
Feb 12, 2014 - They picked up my new 2013 Honda to fix the tire and to do an inspection. Feb 13, 2014 - Service Manager returned the car during a snow storm. When I check the car it had marks on the front bumper and on the garage. Contacted the Service Manager and sent him pics, he came and looked at the car 2-3 days later. For 7 weeks, he told me not to...

I had received a call from our fleet manager asking for our receipts and records for a particular federal vehicle to find out why there were services optained in another state that was out of our juristiction. Come to find out that they had called GSA recieved a repair order and charged for repairs and services for my vehicle that was never received. So they tried to steal not only from the governement but my well earned tax dollars.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Shady Business
Jack Williams has a nasty habit of trying to sell you things that you don't need. Since moving to the area, I have tried to find a reputable mechanic (which is hard). My employer offers a discount for service at their auto center, so I decided to give it a shot. I don't know if these guys are working off of a commission, or if their jobs are threatened without aggressive upselling - but something certainly isn't right.
I've had two cars since moving here, and every time I go there they find something wrong with my car. They have sold me on ball joints and new brakes (because they were "supposedly" necessary to pass inspection), and they have tried to push unnecessary repairs on me ever since.
Now, I will admit that I'm no expert on cars - however I know enough. I can tell when brakes, rotors, and ball joints, control arms and rods need to be replaced. Jack Williams (at least the one in Dallas) is a major gyp, and I want to warn people to stay away from this place at all costs. I'm looking forward to the new Kost, because there aren't many alternatives in the Back Mountain Area.
Beware, one employee likes to threaten to break people’s legs for doing their job. I believe his name is Shane located at the Jack Williams in Dickson City, PA.
Had 9 clock appointment for a oil change and they took a person with no appointment a head of me they didn't not do my oil change untill 1015 they made wait that long
the Jack Williams on rt 611 tried to bump me up several hundred dollars for unnecessary labor, telling me my tie rods were frozen when my dealer verified they were not...and this is after purchasing 4 new tires.
I have to agree, Jack Williams DOES try to sell things as stated... BUT - as a 'backyard mechanic' - I can say they have never tried to push me on anything without explaining why.
They expect everything on your car to be perfect. If you find a used car and the owner has a stack of reciepts from Jack Williams showing the repair history... buy it. They are VERY thorough. Yeah, they tried to sell me brakes because there were hairline cracks in the pads and shoes. They check the rotors and drums with a micrometer to verify the stamped minimum thickness... are these things REQUIRED all the time? No. Should they be fixed? Yes.
Once they knew I worked on my own cars (after questioning a few of these judgement calls), they started diagnosing problems when I brought cars for inspection and just expecting me to fix and return.
I never had them call out a problem that did not exist.
Of course, that's my local shop in Bartonsville, PA. Since they are all different shops, with different policies and obviously differently qualified mechanics... I would certainly heed the warning about any local shop, no matter what name is on the building.
