Nearly two weeks prior to 5/29 I scheduled with this dealer to do some recall work and to perform an oil change. Appointment made for 5/29. I could not drop the car off myself so my wife did. For some reason they asked her what was supposed to be done and she told them the recall work and oil change but wasn't sure if I scheduled a tire rotation or not. The person she talked to then said that I had scheduled a 30,000 mile package deal at a price of $193. My wife was confused by this but told the person that she only wanted what I had scheduled done. I never asked for a 30,000 mile deal. I wanted just an oil change and recall work and the service ticket I made 2 weeks prior should have reflected that. I'm not sure why they even asked her. She told them she only wanted what I had scheduled done and they falsely told her that I asked for the 30,000 package. I called the dealer and corporate and have not gotten a response. I want a refund for all charges above an oil change.

We went to Jake Sweeney to check out a car for our teenager, I said in every email, that I wanted a safe car, he told us everything worked, the key fob does not open the trunk and the brakes squeak really bad, I emailed them and was told to change the battery and the brakes passed their inspection. I did change the battery, it did not correct the issue and he said there was nothing they could do, that he would try and talk to his manager and contact me back... Can you hear the crickets! While there, we not only purchased the car, but we also purchased a Toyota *** truck, so not 1 but 2 autos were purchased that day.. They also charged us for some environmental *** they sprayed on the seat or something that we did not ask for nor were told about until I inquired about it in an email to the sales person who sold us both autos, that cost almost $900 for the *** and 300 for the ***. The finance guy called and said we needed to set up an automatic payment that we could cancel at any time. LIE, LIE, LIE, we called to cancel it and they told us that that was not the case it is a part of the loan agreement, which was not disclosed to us. Honesty goes a long way with us, and everything we read about this place was nothing but good, but now we discover they were all lies..

12/30 I purchased a 2020 Kia *** from Jake Sweeney Kia in Florence, KY
12/30 I purchased a 2020 Kia *** from Jake Sweeney Kia in Florence, KY. The salesperson was Phil ***. The financing was done by Tony ***. During the purchase sales process I told Phil at least 2 times that I only wanted to purchase the car with ;the standard warranty. I did not want to buy any extended warranty products. He agreed and then we went to Tony who performed the finance process. Tony also tried to sell a "wrap around warranty" for the car and he was told, "No, I don't want any extended warranty products, I just want the standard warranty that comes with the car". He was persistent, but was again told the same thing "No, I don't want any extended warranty products, I just want the standard warranty that comes with the car". So during the sales process and the finance process the Kia associates were told at least 4 times, "No, I don't want any extended warranty products, I just want the standard warranty that comes with the car". They acknowledged and the finance process continued. Paperwork was signed and the purchase was completed. The car was bought for approximately 16K plus taxes, title, fees, etc. I was given a monthly payment price and I was on my way. 1/7 I am a 23 year old recent college graduate and this is the first large purchase of my life. I was working with my Dad to get insurance for the new car. We were interested in the monthly payment and did the finance numbers. It seemed the payment was high so we looked into the itemized cost for the vehicle. That is when I discovered I was charged $1599 for EPAP. Environmental Protection Assurance Package (to me it sounds like something to protect the environment, but it is basically rust protection and fabric protection). So this extended warranty was for 84 months and once again added $1599 to the cost of the loan. This document was conveniently added into the middle of signing the finance papers. and In no way was it explained that this paper you are signing right now will add $1599 to the cost of the car. Also at this time I thought the price for the car was agreed upon. Cost of the car, title, taxes, fees, etc. and I thought we had the understanding that the extended warranty products were not going to be sold to me. That's because more than 4 times I said "No, I don't want any extended warranty products, I just want the standard warranty that comes with the car". 1/8 My dad contacted Jake Sweeney Kia in Florence, KY and was transferred to the Finance manager Shane ***. He left a voicemail and requested a call back. 1/11 Two days passed with no return call, so my dad made another call and left a message with Shane *** and requested a call back. 1/12 Still no return call, so my dad called the Jake Sweeney Automotive Group to see if anyone there would talk to him. They transferred him to the Tami *** at the Kia location in Florence,, KY. Tami said that Phil *** and Tony *** needed to be contacted concerning this issue. At this time an email was sent to Phil. 1/15 Phil responded: I believe we are meeting tomorrow to talk about this I haven't been able to sit down with my finance directors and go over what warrantees he did offer in finance. I understand your frustration and you expressed that very clearly on your survey and that'll be another topic of discussion in our meeting again I apologize for the inconvenience on this matter 1/19 I sent an email to Phil asking if there were any updates. 1/22 I sent another email to Phil and said: Please reply with whether or not there is an update on my situation. I was sold an 84 month warranty that I did not want and that I made clear I did not want. I have been trying for weeks now to be reimbursed to resolve this issue. Later that day I received this from Phil: I have brought it up and I'm waiting on the Finance Director to look through the deal. I will forward this email to him so he can reach back out directly 1/28 Still no response from finance director. I'm not sure if this person exists. Reaching out to ComplaintsBoard.com for help.

We went to Jake Sweeney to check out a car for our teenager. In every email, I emphasized the importance of safety. We were assured that everything worked perfectly, yet the key fob doesn't open the trunk and the brakes squeak terribly. After reporting these issues, I was advised to replace the battery and was informed that the brakes had passed their inspection. Replacing the battery didn't solve the problem, and we were told there was nothing more they could do, although they promised to speak with the manager and get back to us... silence ensued.
During our visit, we didn't just buy the car; we also bought a Toyota truck, making it two vehicles purchased in one day. Additionally, we were billed for an environmental protection treatment applied to the seats, which we neither requested nor were informed about until I questioned the salesperson who handled both transactions. This treatment and other services added nearly $900 to our bill.
We were also contacted by the finance department, who insisted on setting up an automatic payment plan, assuring us it could be canceled anytime. This turned out to be untrue. When we attempted to cancel, we were informed that it was an integral part of the loan agreement, a detail that was never disclosed to us. We value honesty, and our initial impression of this dealership was positive based on the reviews we read. However, our experience has revealed a stark contrast to those accounts.
