I have had my side-by-side Jenn Air Refrigerator for about 7-8 years. This is the third time that I have had to throw away all of the food because the refrigerator stopped cooling. What a miserable product. Instead of having it repaired and wasting another hundred or two hundred dollars I decided to purchase a new one. The prices are sky high. The salesman tried to sell me an extended warranty by saying these aren't made to last! I thought that a new one without the water and ice making features might be less likely to malfunction--but silly me --they charge 300- 400 dollars more for models without these features! Not to mention the filters! On my present model they recommended a new filter every year. On the new models they say the filters are good for 5 months-- at 50 dollars a pop! The next surprise was that they will not connect the water if it is flexible tubing. I will have to have copper tubing installed--or my house won't pass inspection! The US has always had the best water in the world right out of our faucets! I think these manufacturers have learned nothing from the rise of the foreign car market in the US... I am going to look elsewhere. Thekla Fall
i also have a Jenn-Air that stops cooling, defrosts refreezes etc... Sears did replace some parts...but it still does not cool properly...sour yogurt etc..when Sears repair person comes out, he says it's ok...for Sears to consider it a lemon, they have to replace 4 moving parts in a 12 month period...how many times am I going to throw away food or eat something that is turning, it is very disturbing...But I think I am stuck...I will have to replace ASAP... my last refrig, a Kenmore, lasted for me 20 yrs and never a repair and is still running ...this Jenn-Air is only 6 yrs...
We have had horrible luck with our Jenn-Air side by side refrigerator that is six years old. In addition to the ice maker and cooling issues the door is an eyesore where the water from the little tray seeped down into the door panel and rotted the panel. We were told it is a common problem.
We also have had problems with our Jenn-Air oven. I'm really disgusted that I thought I was buying high-end appliances and they have performed so poorly.

I have the same issue with my 2003 Jenn-Air Refrigerator. I did pay $400 to fix it by Jenn-Air authorized dealer, they gave 3 month warranty. Guess what, 3 month later it stopped cooling again, and the warranty ran out. I am planning to buy a new Refrigerator, can anyone recommend a good brand, I will never purchase Jenn-Air again.

i will never advice anyone to buy their products, I also have a problem with their stove and microwave but not as much as the refirgerator. in the long run not taking care of their customers, they will loose
MY JENN AIR JCD2389GEB SIDE BY SIDE WAS PART OF A RECALL. CHECK THE MAYTAG WEB ISTE TO SEE IF YOUR'S IS PART OF A RECALL. MY REFRIG IS ONLY 50 DEGREES AND NOT COOLING PROPERLY. IT'S 8 YRS. OLD. I'M TRYING TO FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM . I HAVENT BEEN SUCCESSFUL YET.
Jenn-Air side by side. Seven years old. Repaired five times. Broken again. I believe Jenn-Air lied when they informed me the unit was not part of a recall - they catch fire. I'm logging a complaint with the consumer product safety commission. The company should be sued.
I own a Jenn Air side by side and it is six and a half years old. It spoiled all my Christmas eve food. In addition this particular model was in the list of recalls because the relay switch malfunctioned(JDC2389GEB). The repair folks want to charge me a 275.00 fee for replacing the Adaptive Defrost Board so that my fridge cools! I will never but never buy or recommend another Maytag Jenn Air product. I have another refrigerator that is about fifteen years old and going strong. My Jenn Air is a piece of garbage needing to be dropped kicked down on the canyon that I live by. Good luck folks!
Complaints are not any good unless a model number is given. Its like saying dont ever buy a Chevy since you had a problem with one. Alot of difference between a 1982 Silverado and a 2012 Silverado.
