S100 Riding Lawn Mower
Had a S100 delivered from Home Depot on August 26th 2022.
Mower would not start, had to jump battery, not a big deal. When I tried to drive mower it would die as soon as I tried. After many looking on You Tube found the safety switch under seat was just laying under seat not installed. Installed and started to mow grass first time I disengaged the blades the belt feel off. Had to figure out how to get it back in place. Also figured the deck was nowhere near leveled correctly.
Lesson learned should have bought from an Official John Deere dealer not big box store, when I tried to complain to Home Depot manager got the runaround and no real help our concern will never buy big ticket item from them again.
Order number from Home Depot WP44050927 can get serial number off mower if needed but at work now. Rick Szatkowski [protected]
Desired outcome: Just so John Deere knows how their product is delivered to end customer from Home Depot, do not think it left your facility in this shape? Also that a John Deere dealer will work on this if ever needed.
John deere 835M
Constant brake cable breaking, we have had it to the dealer multiple times to replace the brake cables, we have gone through 4 at the dealership, we have replaced the cable ourselves 4 times, as well as all other brake components to rule them out.
This is a design issue and should be resolved as a safety concern. I worked for deere for 7 years and have done thousands of these cables in the past, why has nothing been done about it?
Desired outcome: I would like the engineering department to come up with a solution to the cable breaking, it is a constant issue and should not boil down to "operators knowing how far to push the pedal" as the dealer has told us.
John Deere MX-8 bushhog
A few months ago I purchased a new MX-8 semi mount bush hog. I started cutting grass and within a 30 minute time frame, the shaft on one of the gear boxes broke. I sent it off to be repaired and received it back a few weeks later only to use it for another 30 minutes and the same shaft at exactly the same place broke again. It sat in my shop for months because I was so upset and I am now getting it fixed at a cost of $1600.00 for something that is obviously a design flaw or something. I am not cutting rough terrain or mistreating the equipment.
Desired outcome: answers as to why this is not covered by mechanical warrantee.
Grease gun model ty26359
I purchased this grease gun a number of years ago from one of your dealers, perhaps the Rosetown SK branch.
The batteries no longer hold a charge. I tried to order new batteries for it and cannot.
I had to replace the John Deere grease gun with a Milwaukee grease gun.
John Deere provies good service for their machinery, but not their tools apparently.
Desired outcome: I have now had to pay twice for a grease gun.

Desired outcome: fix the transaxle

I had a fuel filter problem with my tractor. The John Deere service came out and replaced my filter on my tractor. I did think that I had to pay for the service charges due to the fact that I only had my tractor since November 2021 and had to replace the fuel filter in June 2022 with only approximately 20 hours. I paid approximately $350.00.
When I purchase my tractor the front right rim has paint scrub off of the rim. I call the dealer and spoke with the sale person that sold me the tractor and advised him of the paint off of the rim. He said that he would take care of it or send me some paint. I have received nothing yet.
Desired outcome: I think I need a refund for the work and a can of John Deere paint.
Attempting to open an online account
On 13 June I attempted to open a John deere o line account. Your system would o ly allow me to enter my username then you sent me a email to validate the account. Your system told me to start over the user name that I put in was already in use. How can it be in use when I just made it up. It would not allow me to put in there validation number and it said to start over. Now today 15 June I called your help desk you guy there was so helpful I decided to hang up on him because he wasn't helping g me at all. By doing nothing and saying that he could not help me.
Suggestion to John deere that ou the record your help desk people and send them out to the employment line.
Desired outcome: I would like an online account but john deere is incapable of doing this
Brand new 1025R tractor problems!
I purchased a 1025R tractor 2 weeks ago with backhoe and loader along with a few attachments, grapple, tiller, & HLA forks. Day one the grapple had to go back for a leak. Then the tractor seat came off while I was driving it and I fell off and rolled down a hill, injuring myself. On top of that, the backhoe is leaking, wires hanging very loose everywhere underneath the tractor it’s a complete disaster. They came to pick up my tractor a week ago and still haven’t even looked at it! To make matters worse when you call for an update you get treated like you’re a bother. Like I should just be quiet and not ask any questions because “they’re busy” and backed up. And that’s only when I can speak to someone in service, they normally won’t take your calls, someone in parts takes my name and number down and says someone in service will call me back but they never do. I’ve been calling every day to speak to someone and today is the first time I got through and that’s only because I called sales and spoke to the guy who sold me the tractor and he put someone from parts on the phone. I hate to say it but I should’ve went with Kubota. I didn’t think John Deere would be this problematic and then treat you like crap on top of it. The day I bought the tractor I even suggested to the salesman that I leave the tractor there for a day or 2 so they could go over everything to make sure it’s all up to par. He told me that was already done and it’s ready to go! Had he listened to what I suggested instead of lying, I wouldn’t be writing this nor would I have gotten thrown of my tractor due to seat with no bolts.
Desired outcome: Make it right!

who was the idiot that designed your quick change oil filter ... the first time when it would not seat correctly i thought i did something wrong ..put original one back on and changed break in oil out . the 2nd time it clicked in lock position like it was supposed to and went to cut grass and half way through the motor started making a different sound so i shut it down ... oil change on my front lawn had to put original back on i have been working on cars from 1970 and never had a spin off filter fail ... i will never buy a deere again and im telling every one i know what a joke this system is [ i work part time at auto store] do you make a remote filter kit or do i have to live with this crap
John Deere Riding Lawn Mower
purchase date 06/15/2021 - s/n 1GXS120EKMM023379 - purchased at home depot, lockport, ny. starting it for the 1st time this year with a gallon of gas, started and ran it under cutting operation for approx 10 minutes and it turned off by itself. i started it again, proceeded to cut for 5 minutes and it stopped again. i called home depot to find out where to take it since its under warranty. they directed me to Drake Lawn and Garden, 9570 County Rd, Clarence Center, NY [protected]. i explained the issue as above and it is indicated on the invoice "fuel pump not getting gas to engine, starts but quits". They called me 10 days later to pick up the lawn tractor. they indicated on invoice "tested unit would not start. spark ok. looked in fuel tank no fuel in tank. added fuel. tested unit starts and runs with no issue". i started the mower after picking it up and again, ran with cutting operation and it quit running again. i called Drake back to tell them again there is an issue and they informed me that all they did was put gas in the tank and ran it idly. i told them i did not bring it because it wouldnt start, the issue was it was stopping when attempting to cut. they said they didnt use the cutting operation because the grass was too wet. They charged me 85.85 to do nothing. they said i could bring it back for another fee and told me that i said it wouldnt start. this is untrue and it even states on the invoice what i said the issue was.
i do not trust them to look at my mower again as i feel they did not even attempt to determine the issue. i am taking it to another john deere dealer to be serviced Land-Pro in oakfield, ny. i am a 66 year old senior citizen on social security disability and cannot afford to be ripped off. as Drake is supposed to be a designated warranty service company of john deere for repairs, this is a bad representation of john deere.
Desired outcome: refund from Drake lawn and garden who is representing your company to be the designated warranty service area. i paid alot of money for this lawn mower and it should be covered under warranty.richard jandrok315 main roadakron, ny 14001
062522 how do we know if there has been any update to resolving this issue?
562 loader bucket cylinders and 5100e john deere tractor
Purchased my 5100e John Deere tractor in 2013, with a 562 loader. in the last 3 years I have had to replace the bucket cylinders twice part number MSL ST754100. doing landscaping work at my farm, the cylinders sheared off completely in half, did not bend just sheared off with only the weight of the loader on float back dragging stone and sod. all said and done not happy with the performance of this loader, In my opinion and that of other local farmers the casting's look to be of poor quality. My wife and I have owned 7 John Deere tractors and other JD equipment in the past 20 years, These repairs are costing me around 6 grand for both events. While I am here My 5101e threw a valve at 2250 hrs, this cost me approx 17500. to replace the engine. The work was done through Green Tractors Nobelton Ontario. overall very disappointed with my 5100e and the 562 loader that came with it.
Desired outcome: Due to the poor quality of this unit I feel John Deere should compensate me for some of the costs, I realize due to wear and tear it would not be full compensation but some would go a long way. Thankyou Mike Dunnage/ Irene Van Dam
Z525E
Purchased mower from Lowes with warranty. Last when out of warranty, I took advantage of package from James River John Deere in Salisbury NC. Had overall package of checking level and fluids and authorized new blades be installed. After getting it back and running it for a while I began to experience the left steering arm squealing. Then I noticed hydraulic fluid was extremely low. I filled it up with hydraulic fluid. But over time the squealing became increasingly bad until I could only use for a short period of time before the left steering arm would not respond. I decided not to go back to James River because they had told me initially the mower had a leaking fuel line. knowing I did not, I questioned further to find out it was a fuel vacuum line that had apparently been bitten into by a rodent. I approved them replacing the small length of tubing not realizing they would charge me over $110 to take the old one off and put one on; a 10 minute job. I contacted the John Deere in Statesville to set up to replace the left steering hydraulic unit. I was told "as soon as someone who knows the Z525E could call, they would." Two months later I called for the last time and was told "Mr., you are on the list. When someone is available they will call." Well needless to say three months later I am not a supporter of John Deere Lawn tractors!
Desired outcome: I want the steering hydraulic unit looked at and repaired. Why is that so difficult???? Perhaps the folks that looked after my Husqvarna can help.
The foot throttle fell off
In July the week of the 21, after cutting 3 acres of land I returned home and be gin to wash the tractor and noticed the foot Throttle shaft was missing. I then got under the tractor and saw that there were two screws that held the foot throttle shaft on were missing. I then took a closer look and discovered that there were no threads in the screw holes that held on the foot throttle shaft on. Everything else was in place including the dust cover. I called P&K Equipment and asked if it was covered under warranty, and I was told they would check and give me call. After two months passed I called back around September 24 and at that point P&k came and picked up the tractor. On October 5, P&K equipment called and said that the Throttle shaft had been torn off and that the threads in the screw holes had been torn out. That did not happen, I have pictures show that the treads had never been bored in. They also removed the dust cover and did not replace it when they brought the tractor back. I refused to pay $921.00 for what I think is a factory defect that they missed on inspection.
Desired outcome: I would like for the foot throttle and the dust cover to be replaced
John Deere Fitness Center/JD Retiree
I worked/retired for/from JD for over 43 years. I am now told that I am unable to use the fitness Center but people that are currently employed are able to use it. This is a huge discrimination against the retirees. I have been FULLY vaccinated and had the booster. What could the reason behind this be?
Please respond with an explanation.

Lawn tractor
This really is not a complaint. I have purchased a JD Lawn tractor two years ago and I am extremely pleased with everything about it, but
I can not believe that the seat is splitting and cracking. I owned a WheelHorse for 25 years and the seat was like new when I sold it.
other John Deere owners said that their seats also cracked and split from normal use. The seat cover is the problem. My tractor is never left to the our doors. I hate to duct tape the seat, it looks like crap.
Is there any help from John Deere on this?
Thank you

John deere s-100 mower
Purchased mower new september 28, 2021, for residential use only. Had never owned deere equipment before. In view of the company's supposed reputation, had always wanted to habve one.
During 2d use, october 28, stopped mower for a moment. On starting again, the shift lever for the mower blades did not engage. After hours spent trying to get help for the problem, finally was told that the shift lever belt or spring had broken, or otherwise become defective.
Was told by local dealer repair service that i would have to pay $130 for transporting mower back and forth.
I shall not pay this. Will notify store where the mower was purchased to come get it.
Will the mower be replaced with another john deere? my feeling right now is - - never!
Desired outcome: Don’t know. Depends on whether or not the store will take the mower back and refund my money .
X590
Greetings,
I have been using John Deere products since I was first allowed to drive an old John Deere when I was eight years old and have been using them ever since. I am now 48 and still using them for a living. I would like to believe I am thoroughly experienced with using the products they make. I currently have a John Deere 320, 360, 110, 280, 500, 590 and the second 590. Each machine prior to the x590 that has issues since 81 hours into a 500 hour warranty, have been great. This x590 has been nothing but issue after issue. The machine runs slower then the two other 500 series I own and the others for that matter. It has not cut properly, the mower always smells of burning rubber and grease once it is in use. The belts continuously get shredded, I get headaches and nauseous when I use it. I have been back and forth to the repair shop which is in Mount Vernon. A 66 mile drive each way. Add up the hours of driving, the fuel, the time, the money lost not having this machine do its specific job in the fleet and the over all frustration of buying a brand new machine that is a lemon is very disheartening. The mechanics, the service managers, the people running the office have been of the highest quality and their customer service skills have been remarkable and I would be proud to have them work for and represent my place of business. Quite honestly at this point they are the only reason I am still trying to deal with your company. I always buy my equipment brand new so I know what I am getting and to have reliable equipment that will do its job and maximize my profit and clients expectations. This x590 is my mulching machine and set up for my mulching clients. When it is down my workload and time become ridiculous and my mulching customers are unsatisfied. The money I have lost and damage to reputation far exceeds what I paid for this machine and it is baffling that this has been nothing but bad with this machine. None of my other machines have given me these issues and I know I was sold a lemon. I understand where I live is not under warranty or an issue caused by the machine. Unfortunately I am not satisfied and felt displaced in a company that has switched from Barnett to Washington Tractor to now Pape. My records have been lost in your new systems and only adds to the frustration of this situation. At this point I am looking into other businesses to switch my fleet as I can't afford the losses at the rate that this machine has caused not to mention I bought it brand new as all my equipment. At this point I would happily trade this machine out for a different one as it only has 200 hours and has been in the repair shop and out of commision non stop since I bought it. I am not confident in this machine and am beyond frustrated and concerned with the machine. I know John Deere has always been reliable and quality prior to this experience. I have all my equipment paid and full and have a tremendous track record with John Deere. I do not want to switch to Kubota, or Craftsman, or any other company. Given the current circumstances I am looking into other options and considering selling all of my John Deere equipment to avoid further losses and damage to my reputation. Corey, Donna and Allen have been the best and knowledgeable of the situation and very informative! Once again they are the only reason I am still trying to deal with Pape and John Deere.
Thank you for your time,
Chris Campbell

x570 Garden Tractors
We purchased two John Deere X570 tractors and paid over $13, 000 for them they just 4 years old with only 320 hours on them. We use them to mow grass and nothing else.
This year we have had to replace all 4 front axels 2 on each tractor. They just snapped in two while mowing. We also had to replace the entire steering system on one tractor all of this cost a significant of well over $2, 500.
We have also paid your dealer for all required maintenance on our tractors each year to keep them in top running condition.
We do not feel that the quality the types of repairs needed at this time in the tractors life span is very serious and significant. Wheel axle and steering system failures.
We want to be reimbursed for these costs as we paid a significant amount for the tractors believing we would have long long dependable use. Unfortunately we are not and are not pleased with the quality of parts and cheap design we have discovered.
Please contact me at [protected] to discuss.

X354 lawn tractor mulching kit
Purchased a 354 lawn tractor and installed an electric mulch kit about two weeks later. Used it about 3 years when I backed into tall grass and the chamber on the mulch kit must have bent and was hit by the blade damaging the chamber beyond repair. In September of 2021 I then purchased a manual kit with the intension of replacing the chamber and installing my electric actuator on it. There must have been a problem with the original design as the added another mounting bolt and changing the chamber from metal to fiber but they also changed the shaft diameter making my electric actuator useless . I paid over $300 for the original electric kit and $148 for the manual kit . I had nothing but good things to say about the original electric unit but i'm upset that there must have been a problem with the original design as they have changed it . Changing the design made it much more secure but when you get an item for a specific model you would think it would fit properly now I have a manual mulch kit I bought a John Deere X354 because of the electric mulch feature now I have to get off of the tractor every time I want to change the mode .It is one of the selling points of a John Deere riding mower that they really push to make the sale in the first place
Desired outcome: Make it possible to have a working electric mulch kit on my x 354
Mulch control system for X354 42" deck
I had Purchased a X 354 with a 42" deck brand new from a dealer shortly after I purchased the electric mulch kit and installed it myself . I had used it for several years until while backing up I must have hit uneven ground and bent the metal bracket it must have been a design flaw as they have changed the design . I purchased a replacement manual mulch kit planning to install my electric switch to it but John Deere decided to change the shaft size making my electric unit useless . It was a design flaw that caused John Deere to change the part to begin with the change makes it mount better and probably will fix the design flaw but it leaves my electric useless . You would think when John Deere changes a design a part for a specific model X354 It would fit the same on a model X 354 . I was very pleased with with the original electric mulch kit cost was over $300 I then spent $148 for a new manual kit that wont work with the previous purchased electric control
Desired outcome: It's in John Deere's hands if I will ever purchase another .
