On 11/20/22 I purchased a power sofa recliner & love seat from Jordan’s Furniture in New Haven, CT. Both were delivered to my home on 1/25/23. I was unaware the sofa came in 2 pieces. When the delivery men left I immediately covered it with a sofa cover because I have a dog. On 2/1/23 I removed the cover to clean it and immediately noticed a gap between the center & right head rest (if facing sofa). That right section also looks uneventful and leans to the right. I took photos and called my salesperson, Kat Relkin. She advised me to call customer service, which I did. Customer service scheduled a person to come to my home to check out the sofa. The date was scheduled for 3/2/23. On 3/2/23 a person came out and agreed there was a space near the headrests. He spent 30-45 minutes trying to get that section to be more even with the left and center. He stuffed padding under the right section, but it did not help very much. He contacted his boss and was told to tell me it was something the customer had to tolerate. I told him that section appeared to be defective and asked if they could replace that section. He told me they couldn’t do that. Over the next few months I was disappointed and frustrated that Jordan’s would not replace the section or allow me to return the sofa. On 9/26/23 I contacted customer service again and told them the right section is still not even with the other sections and the gap is very noticeable. That section also leans to the left when sitting in it. I need to place a pillow behind my back since it is causing my back to be sore. I also told the representative that the right section was now making a clicking noise when it’s reclined and someone is sitting in it. The rep scheduled a date for 10/10/23 for someone to come out and look at it. On 10/10/23 a man came out and pulled several small pieces of padding from the underside of the right section. He had the couch turned on it’s front. He told me and showed me the rear bottom frame was bent on the right side. He took photos, but I did not. He never addressed the clicking issue on the right back portion of the couch. I was told the frame had to be ordered and that it wouldn’t be in until March 2024. The cost of the sofa was $2,299. I purchased the 5 year protection for $199. If Jordan’s can replace the right section to see if it will match the rest of the couch, I will do that. If not, I would like to return the couch so I can purchase something else. That section of the couch is defective in relation to the other section.
Desired outcome: Replace defective section or return couch for a refund.
