I went to Kal Tire to put winter tires on. Forty-five minutes later, my car was returned with damage. My car has paint transfer from their bay - grey and blue. Kal Tire has refused to take responsibility. I have been a loyal customer for years. Never again will I use this business.

Took my winter tires in to have the TPMS replaced for my newer car
Took my winter tires in to have the TPMS replaced for my newer car. They assured me they could replace the sensors without having to re-balance the tires. Now in November I install the tires on the car, shook *** at 80kms. Kal tire refuses to refund me my payment. Its only 60 bucks but its the principal that they didn't preform the work as promised. I had to spent 66.00 to have them balanced at the dealership. Kal Tire has done nothing but try to blame me for the lack of work preformed and Im sure they will do that here

I took my car into Kal Tire to have the tires changed and they told me I needed to replace the front struts and rear brakes. The estimate for the job was nearly $2,000. I took my car into *** for a second opinion *** In my opinion, Kal Tire is not a trustworthy business. *** I strongly recommend against anyone using Kal Tire. I would give zero stars, but that isn't an option. This company should audited for honest business practices.

Very disappointed
Very disappointed. Bought new tires for my *** when it was returned 3 of the 4 center caps were broken. When I approached them about this the told me it was because the caps were glued on. I removed one tire my self in order to verify this. Small screws hold the caps on and the screws were very easily removed. When I approached them the second time with the screw in hand they told me they were seized and snapped the the caps when they tried to remove. They didn't know how these caps were fastened and broke them trying to figure it out... then they *** about it. No satisfaction from them. I have always suggested Kal Tire to others in the past and the workers as always were very professional to deal with. Their management not so much. In the future I will be taking my business elsewhere

I went in for a full brake job and new shocks
I went in for a full brake job and new shocks. I was told they could do a full inspection right away and give me a diagnosis. Came back as front brakes needed rotors and pads but calipers were good, and rear brakes were fine just needed adjustment. Also told me the front control arms were needing replacing. They gave me a quote for the work stated after the full inspection. I dropped my truck off the next morning and advised them to do the work quoted but not to replace my shocks. Within a few hours I was called and told my rear brakes now needed to be fully rebuilt, and I needed new calipers on the front. When I asked why I had been told different after a "full inspection", all I could get was a "sorry" out of the person. I rejected the new "quote" and said to please do the work originally quoted. This is when I was informed that I needed new calipers no question. I agreed to that, but was misled on the price of the parts and install. Needless to say the bill came to about $500 more than anticipated. I will never deal with them again.

Once a great outfit, it's now a source of frustration since a key member left.
It was a great outfit in the past, but since a key member left, we seem to collect more negative experiences and are losing trust with this outfit, unfortunately. We keep taking tires that have been 'fixed' by KalTire to other shops to get properly fixed, shortly after the first attempt by KalTire and then going flat again. For example, I had a flat in my truck tire due to a nail. Got it back 'fixed', next day with a stock trailer and a load of horses, it went flat again in Kamloops. Took it to KalTire there and the nail was still in the tire. They had supposedly diagnosed and 'fixed' it the day before, but clearly, they hadn't. It's no fun when transporting livestock. Another example: a tractor tire was 'fixed' with a new tube, but without a boot - which is pointless. The next shop we took the tire to put in a boot and had to patch the tube because it was pinched by the improper repair. I will take my business somewhere else now.

Received a call from Kal Tire today April 8 saying I needed to pick up my tires or they'd recycle them.
Received a call from Kal Tire today April 8 saying I needed to pick up my tires or they would recycle them and that I owed store fees of over $300. I said I hadn't received any invoices related to this and questioned their billing practices that they could just keep charging me per year without notifying me and then suddenly reach out to me with a bill for over $300. He said his records showed they left a message for me in March which I did not receive. I explained I owned a business and was busy closing down etc due to COVID-19 so may have missed it but did not recollect a message. He said they had also called me in the summer of 2018. These are the only 3 times they contacted me regarding these charges, once in 2018 and then last month (one and a half years later) and today. No mailed invoices or statements. No emails. I said I'd need to make arrangements to pay since I was financially affected and that I was not going to come pick up my tires right away because it was considered 'non-essential' and I was only leaving the house for essential errands. I suggested I might pick up the tires and sell them and then pay the bill with that money. He said he wasn't forcing me to come, but if I didn't come right away he would throw my tires out. I explained again that I was financially strained due to COVID-19 and home with my young children since there is no school. I wasn't going to leave them at home alone to make a trip to a tire store. He said other customers need the storage space right now and they need to free up room for them. I said I would report their business practices to the ComplaintsBoard.com and disconnected. Unless the company can show they billed me for these charges annually by mail or email, I don't think I should have to pay. I think their business practice of allowing customer charges to build up year over year without making attempts to contact the customer at least once a year is unreasonable.

On 2020-JUNE-18, I scheduled an appointment at this kal tire location at 4pm for a wheel alignment. When I dropped off my truck, I advised them that the tie rod ends were recently replaced, hence why I needed a wheel alignment. When I came back to pick up the truck, the technician was still working on truck, and after a few mins of waiting, they told me that the alignment machine indicated that the alignment of the wheels is within specification. However the steering wheel was off center and that the vehicle pulls to the right side on a road test. They advised me that perhaps the installation of the new suspension pieces was done incorrectly, but offered no actual diagnosis of the problem. By the time we had finished talking about the work that was done on my truck, it was well past closing time for the shop, so I appreciate their time is staying later. They advised me to have the suspension inspected, and charged me half price of what a normal wheel alignment cost. Im not satisfied with the outcome as the service I asked for was not delivered, and was still charged. On 2020-JUNE-19, at 1:30pm, I took my truck into *** The appointment was for an inspection of the suspension and a wheel alignment. The technician at the shop advised me that there was nothing wrong with installing of any suspension pieces and that the previous wheel alignment was done incorrectly. The inspection and wheel alignment was done in 40mins, half the time it took Kal tire to perform the same service. After the inspection and the alignment was done, the steering wheel was centered and the truck drove straight as it should. As a customer its frustrating that a service that kal tire offers and performs on a regular basis could not be done correctly on my truck. Further more its even more frustrating when I'm told the issue is my truck and not how the service was performed, yet another shop can do the alignment with no issue.

Since January I have had a slow leak in my front left driver's side tire
Since January I have had a slow leak in my front left driver's side tire. I have had the driver's side tire repaired 3 times already. Every month i have had to refill the air in my driver's side tire as it is been problematic. It is now August. Kal Tire refuses to replace the tire under warranty which i purchased. They said they will patch the tires as many times as they want. My last visit to the store i had asked the store manager Josh to rotate the drivers side tire to the rear of the vehicle. He agreed with this and said it would be a safety hazard not to. I watched Josh do the work that day i brought the vehicle in to have the tire inspected. He never rotated the driver\s side tire to the rear. Two days later after my vehicle was sitting at home. I work from home. I brought my vehicle in to Kal Tire on Pembina. They were great. They noticed that the front driver's side tire was low. They refilled the tire and checked all the other tires' pressure. The other tires have always been good. I have reached out to customer relations. I was directed to speak with Jeff who works out of the *** here in Winnipeg. Jeff seems to have a very unique way of interacting with customers. Although i missed his initial call. I returned his call at ***. While trying to explain the issue i was going through Jeff had cut me off and asked so are you going to buy a new tire? i had informed Jeff that i purchased the warranty for my tires and Jeff's response was "oh" I informed Jeff that i was still having an issue with the driver's side tire. Jeff did not seem to care about the issue. I informed Jeff that if he wasn't going to honor the warranty on my tires that i would not waste my time talking to him as i have proof of purchase and of the warranty. I have reached out to customer relations once again and i am now awaiting to speak with the Regional Director. I had called back to the store to speak with the regional manager Jeff [protected] to ask Jeff for his employee number. Jeff refused to provide his employee number as he said "i'm not giving you my personal information" An employee number is not personal information. I would argue this as many customer's will ask for an employee number to ensure there is accountability and credibility with the person they are speaking to. This issue has been ongoing since January . It is now August 4. This is teaching me to never do business with Kal Tire again. I am asking Kal Tire to honor their tire warranty they sold me when i purchased the tires from them. I have never dealt with such poor service
