cell phone billing
Koodo sent a bill of 200.00 to collections even though the service was never activated, never registered and cancelled. There was no account number until now. They even assigned a phone number that I would never select... Lol so, now I am stuck paying for a service that I cancelled and never registered. Right... Not nice... Glad I decided to not use their service. So now what... If I donèt pay they screw my credit. This is something that I did contact koodos about. I was told it was handled and not to worry about it. But...
customer service is unreachable. does not ship the product I paid for.
I placed an order online with KOODO a week ago. They said I would receive an email saying the order was processed and shipped.
Since then, I have sent 5 emails. I have phoned [protected] - but all you can do is leave a voicemail for a callback. The phone number does not allow you to wait on hold. Well, I don't have a phone for them to call me back on because - they haven't sent it to me. What kind of support is this? If I need help with my cell phone you will call me? ON WHAT? The cell phone I don't have? This is idiotic.
Does anyone work at the Webstore? Does the email address go anywhere? Does anyone check the voicemails?

over billing for extra minutes
Over 60 hours in the phone with Koodo El Salvador regarding a mistake they made : my plan was changed over a year and a half ago : unlimited everything . I do call every month to check bill or long distance charges and
the over charge was never mentioned to me until august 2016. The call went to Montreal, the rep (Lerna) was mortify about an over billing in the amount of or 600.00. The Plan was still the same as the rep responsible to make the change did not bother to do so ? The nightmare started in January of this year with El Salvador. They claimed I have to pay and Lerna (and a few other reps) just made a mistake . After EIGHT months they said the credit the account twice and then I got a cheque in the mail for 406.00 dollars ! I am mortify that a company I dealt from day one, that is 7 SEVEN years of loyalty and paying my bill way in advance try to make me believe there is a debt of extra minutes because my old plan cover limited air time ? I barely use the phone but I am "ancient old" for them.
What happens is that June, the ES supervisor is responsible for money pay to me and she is taken a personal interest in recuperating it : This girl has a man position, very rare in a male dominate society, she wants to make merit at my expenses ? I am mortify and sad : call me naïve but as a Senior professional woman that goes to work and pay Her debt, this affair has destroy my naïve vison of a cell company I held in high regard. I am not calling them anymore as I feel like an idiot repeating myself over and over This is the decent resolution. The only acceptable resolution:
Koodo Must recognize that my plan was changed long time ago. There was never mentioned to me for over a year and a half. The cheque for 406.00 dollars sent a few days ago is money owe to me for overcharging .
I want them to e-mail me with a satisfactory resolution .
I want to be able to buy a new phone (more business for the company) and I want to be treated with respect : My age does not reflect my mental abilities or intelligence.
The all incident started on August the 29, 2016 (Lerna) and has been non resolved but complicated by the El Salvador supervisors . THERE is not and never was a second credit otherwise I would have received over one thousand dollars instead of 406.00. Simple mathematic. Please do recognize your mistake and be advice I am not accepting the lies and mistake from El Salvador supervisors (floor reps are fine but low on the ladder and must consult several supervisors before given an answer.)
June has given me much stress and anguish: She must correct them and forward restitution.
This is letter number 7 to different offices. I will not go quietly : there are news papers, government offices protecting the interest of Canadians, etc.
Thank you for reading the above. I don't know who you are but I am grateful if you can help with this unfortunate mess . I am not giving Koodo a penny more than I owe for services render, I work very hard x my money as the rest of the people in this country. El Salvador might be an un expensive outlet but is not working for Canadian customers.

Well I was told to go to store with my ID so I did Best Buy took all then I went to PC Mobile they refused a few ID and when I went to the Koodo store in Peterborough ONT Lansdowne Place Mall they said I have to have drivers lic as well as Birth certificate and sin and what ever else I told them the Provincial card can be used if People dont drive. Anyhow Koodo been calling me for a while saying how did U make out? I told them no luck so I faxed Transunion asked why they are stopping koodo from getting me line as well as Equifax they both said we dont make the choice its the provider them self. Anyhow all my ID I got is not fake so stop dooshing my id and start taking it thanks Also my local NDP office has been in formed of this matter of koodo as well. I have also sent a copy of the link to Koodo on face book.

I had a Koodo account for a couple years, enjoyed them totally, until...my sons phone needed to be cancelled, I called them to cancel it and they proceeded to convince me to take a 4 month voluntary suspension decide later to fully cancel or not. Even waived the $10 a month fee to do so! Seemed like a great idea, gave me time to catch up his bill, roughly 250 bux, less tab. Maybe could even give it back after the 4 months was up, so I made payments Jan, Feb, March actually twice in March. Almost caught up, less than 100 bux to go. Beginning of April, received a letter from a collection agency, Koodo sent my file to. They never called, emailed, snail mail, nothing not a word they were doing that. Not a word there was a problem, I thought everything was going along just fine..boy was I shocked! Called Koodo asked them why? they said they didn't have my file anymore cant' help me. Called the collection agency, they just kind of chuckled and said yeah Koodo does this all the time! I called Koodo back and got someone that said well you missed a payment in December that's why you went to collections! Thought they didn't have my file anymore?!?!? and so what if i missed a payment in December? I called in December to find out what was going on and initiated the suspension! They got money every month (twice a month sometimes) and most of the amount owing over that 3 month period, I was on a 4 month voluntary suspension! They didn't even let me finish that, off to collections I went. I disputed it of course fought with them for a month, finally gave in and paid the dam thing off in June. Now fast forward to November, pulled my credit report to check things out and there's Koodo on top reporting I've been delinquent since December of last year and have stayed delinquent right thru till now! I was paid off and closed in June! I called them again and asked why are you still reporting me? Pretty much got told after going thru three levels of management that it was all my fault I never called them back in January, February or March, when I was MAKING my payments! I said how was I supposed to know there was a problem? I paid my bills and you still sent me to collections and now your reporting on an account that was paid off and closed. It doesnt exist anymore, why are you reporting delinquent every month? I got very frustrated with the manager, he was rude, degrading and very argumentative! Theres no way in his eyes that koodo could ever be wrong. I have since filed a complaint with the BBB (139 complaints and counting on their site about Koodo) and I have also filed a complaint with the CCTS. I'm encouraging everyone and anyone that has had a problem with Koodo to do the same. These cell phone companies are bullies and have the power to do real damage to peoples credit ratings. Good credit is hard to get and even harder to maintain. Companies like Koodo will never report good standings, (I was, admitted by them, an R1 before they screwed me over) but have no problem reporting one missed payment and sending good people to collections unjustified! Without warning, without notice. And then refuse to clean up their mess!

In the early summer of 2011, I received a bill for my mothers cell phone, which was approx. $130 more than it usually is. This is not the first time this has happened. In the past, I would phone, and they would realize the error, and make the appropriate changes. My mom doesn't really know how to use her cell phone, can barely text, and only uses it for emergency situations. When I received the bill, I asked if there was anything at ALL, that she could think of, that would contribute to the bill. I even asked if she had signed up for anything and given her phone number to it. Nope.
So I'm a couple of weeks away from my wedding, and I'm planning it all by myself. I phone Koodo and wait on hold for 45 minutes. I hang up. I did not have time to wait. My life was crazy, with getting married in 2 weeks. I tried calling again about a week later. I waited on hold for 30 minutes. I hung up. I get married, and the next month Koodo shuts down my mom's phone. I'm O.K. with this, as I'm tired of dealing with their errors in billing, and happy to move on to another carrier for her. Approx. two months after the bill was received, I start getting these phone calls from strangers, telling me to phone them back at their 1800 numbers.
I have only had absolutely perfect credit my whole life. I have never missed a payment on one thing. After ONE bill, no warnings, and 2 months later, Koodo has contacted a Collections Agency, to get "their" money. I had no idea how to deal with them, as I have never received a call from them in my life. They explained that I could no longer be in contact with Koodo over this amount, it must be paid to them. So, on the spot, over the phone I explained my story to the Collection Agency, and paid the full amount. They said that they would put no personal marks against my credit, because I paid them on first contact.
A year goes by, and I try to sign up for a payment contract for something. They do a credit check. My credit had been lowered SO significantly, that I requested a credit report from Trans Union. Koodo was to blame. After incorrectly billing me AGAIN, and giving me one bill, with no warnings, and not allowing a system where I can easily call in and talk to someone, they go and completely ruin my credit with one hit.
I sell phones for different phone companies for my work. I will absolutely NEVER, ever ever recommend Koodo. In fact, I always make it very clear, that people should avoid working with them at all costs.
I went from having an impeccable untouched credit rating, to not being able to get on a phone plan.
The only way Koodo will ever be able to make this up to me, is to rectify what they have done, realize my willingness to cooperate even unjustly, and contact trans union to remove this hit. It is inaccurate, and unfair.
Never, ever ever ever, deal with Koodo.

Hi. My name is Jae Min. I am a Koodo user. I made a SIM card at London Drug and after that actually my friend used that phone. But the problem I found is that my account is blocked or suspended for some reasons. And Koodo rep ask me to fax 2 pieces of ID without telling me the reason why this situation happend. outrageous billing practice & staff not speaking/understanding english
In November 2011, I went to Koodo Mobile kiosk at Eaton Center as i needed to straighten out my account so to reflect what plan i wanted instead of what I was given from the Koodo kiosk person a few weeks prior to my November 201 visit when i got my Blackberry.. The girl at kiosk wasn't helpful at all, because I also needed to set up my phone so I could use it when I needed to, while I was overseas in December 2011.
Well when I went overseas a few days later, i realized my blackberry was not working at all.. except to take pictures, i couldn't use my phone to call home to see if an ill family member was doing.
I kept getting a message I needed to pay B Mobile a monthly rate of $145 to access all I needed where I had traveled to..,
I emailed Koodo 2 times and finally a few days later I got a message emailed saying we cant help you unless you call us..
So I made a long, long distance call to Koodo mobile to ask if I should pay B Mobile for 1 month of their service while I stayed where I traveled to..
The guy I spoke with at Koodo Mobile couldn't speak English very well at all and i had a very hard time explaining my situation and what i required while | was away from Canada.. He had a very hard time trying to tell me anything .. as I didn't understand what he was saying.. I even asked to speak with someone who did speak English.. but I offended him, and he refused as he was dealing with my call..
Despite what I was requesting.. He was adamant under no circumstances was I allowed to go to B Mobile as Koodo was my provider..
after about 1 hour back and forth on my dime long distance, not from my Black Berry as it wasn't working right.. The guy said he knew what I wanted and tried explaining stuff to me about charges and such, but I didn't understand what he said..
so I wasn't too worried as I knew for the past 3 years I had a cap of $200. per month on my account, so I'd never go above it at anytime.. I even made a payment shortly after that of $150.. just to ensure I'd not go over my cap that month..
Next thing I knew I was getting unwanted text messages from everyone, Facebook messages and notifications, phone calls from Trinidad where I was staying.. which I find I should have gone with the B Mobile $145 plan i originally was offered while I was in the Carribean, but Koodo Mobile guy told me NO.. I'm not allowed to do that..
So he did whatever he felt like doing.. including removing my $200 monthly cap I've always had on my account for 3 years.
Imagine my surprise to receive a $935.00 bill from Koodo Mobile for changes this idiot who didn't speak English very well, had done to my account without my authorization.
When I called to complain about $400. for Data Charges and $400 for Connection Charges, I spoke with 3 guys who all didnt speak English well and coincidentally, ALL 3 guys were all named Carlos.. and of course none were willing to assist me in my complaint.. I was even told its up to discretion of Koodo Customer service reps, when they want to remove my account Cap, despite it was I, who asked for the cap to be placed and not removed..
I did manage to find about $220. of erroneous charges and when I pointed this out to Koodo guy, he'd only given me a $200 credit back on my account, and not the full $220..
Now today I see I am overcharged again.
I have the unlimited $45.00 per month plan that the Koodo Mobile advertising says includes * Free Call display/voice mail/call answer/etc.. and *Free Blackberry Social... But I still see on my E-bill, I'm still paying an extra fee of $10 per month extra for both of these free inclusions..
That's an extra $20.00 per month for something I'm supposed to have included'.
So I'm paying $65. 00 plus taxes for something I should be paying $45.00 for.
I feel Koodo Mobile really doesn't give a rats ### about their customers, this is why I will be looking for a new, cheaper cell phone carrier to replace the uncaring, and non speaking of the English Language and rude ignorant staff that Koodo Mobile seems to think is satisfactory for their customers to deal with.
If Koodo mobile thinks $935.00 for their service that I rarely used while I was away was worth every penny They are wrong!

I totally agree with you. Koodo overcharges everyone hiding behind the excuse that they are data charges and the like. This is the worst cell phone company ever. All Canadians should ban this company from making a dime. I tossed this phone and company a long time ago and I do believe that all candians should do the same. They are the crooks of crooks!
the cell phone did not receive calls
I bought a cell phone from Koodo. The purpose to buy that cell phone was because I depend on a cell phone so I will not lose work hours. My supervisor called me a few times and said that I was not answering the phone. However, the phone was with all at all times. I called Koodo and they check my phone on their computer and said to me that there was nothing wrong with my cell phone. My supervisor continued saying that I was not answering the phone. At this time, other people were saying the same thing my supervisor was saying and I continued losing work hours. At this time, I went back to Koodo kiosk at the Eaton Centre in Toronto. The Koodo employee who was there at the moment ( It was on a Saturday morning) seemed a lot more interested in getting the service from another male who was there looking for information. Eventually I got the employee on duty to look at my phone and he said there was nothing wrong with my phone.Once again I heard that I was not answering my calls. Durind the short period I was with Koodo I received 2 calls from work, even though the line was really bad. I disconnected my services with koodo.
I am looking into the possibility of posting it on Youtube. I strongly discourage the reader from purchasing phones from Koodo.
charging for calls to free phone (800) numbers
I am a customer of Koodo mobile and pay a monthly fee for my phone bill. I do not have a contract with them. I got my recent phone bill and on it I am being charged for calls to 800 numbers. They told me they could charge this fee for connection. I recently changed phone plans. My previous plan had a limit of 150 minutes before I am charged for calls. Because I went over my allocated 150 minutes per month, they say they can charge me for calls to free phone (800) numbers. I was charged a total of $38.16 for these calls, not including taxes.
My question is - is this illegal? I got no satisfaction when I spoke to them today.

When I called a 1-800 number while in the USA I was told by an operator that they will absorb the charges. Well, Koodo charged me for the 3 calls I made in July. I wonder if they did not collect from them also,
It is illegal. Join me in lawsuit against Koodoo and their parent company Telus.

Customer service SUCKS! I first called March 24th, 2011 to cancel my cell phone (didn't use) and had a lot of trouble communicating with the rep, as he didn't speak very good english. I had to repeat myself, many times. Was on phone to cancel cell for over 40 min. Service was cancelled April 5th...received final bill & paid. Asked for my son's phone (I pay/at university) to be cancelled "next billing period in April". Still receiving bills in June for full account price. When I called today to clear up, they admitted they could see that neither phone was being used (NO airtime used) but that I had only cancelled one service. She explained "they could credit my account". I asked to speak to a supervisor- the rep stated "I am the supervisor". I said well, then I'd like to speak to your supervisor- she stated "I don't have one". I asked how I file a complaint- she says "we don't have a protocol for that". On top of everything She tells me I owe another $59.78 for service for June/July. This can not be how a large company operates this day in age. Is there no one that can help, or do they just get away with ripping off the Canadian public?

Koodo has lied to me once again. Promised one thing but delivered another. This company is no longer even listed on the net as one of the recommended service providers for no contract cell phones. With their track record I understand totally. I told them the last time it took three days on the phone to discuss their huge bills that if another one came through I was canceling my service with them. Well they did not take me seriously and just sent me even a higher one. This company say they provide you with unlimited use for their service for a fee and then charge you for everything on top of this fee. I give up. Do not waste your time trying to reason with this company. There is lots of competition out there which charge less and offer more. Try one of the. I intend to.
Why does Koodo only get involved in complaints when you you are forced to go to an outside source? Second last time I complained was through Best Buy. They do not want to lose one of their suppliers of phones and services. This time I phoned direct and had only a portion of my problem addressed plus I had to endure being yelled at by the Customer Service rep. I too was on the phone for over 40 minutes. I was also told there were no Supervisor available to speak to. I was told I would be called by Management two days ago but this did not happen.

horrible service
Koodo mobile hires people who can barely speak english. They address your complaits by telling you there is nothing they can do.
They have horrible phones that break and then you either need to get a new one and get stuck paying off their tab or have it repaired which takes forever. I decided to have mine repaired and they returned it with parts missing. My phone doesnt work at all anymore.
Save youself time and money, go elsewhere!

Their international long distance plan is misleading...first I was told $12 a day up to a max of $100 a month...then I was told $15. I was led to believe this included texts but apparently only incoming. Last month I got a helpful young man who reduced my bill of $256 from $150 long distance down to $42. This month...again $256 but I was basically told to suck it up...and people with foreign accents are difficult to understand even when your hearing is good...which mine isn't. I HATE this company.
Yes, may not be everyone but I'm one of them had a sad and bad experience . Could be many more out there too. I had a very stressful experience with that company. Exactly the same stressfull plight most people here had. Honestly it's not really the company but the disrespectful customer services will put this business down sooner or later. The moment you cancel your account with them, here they go with their attitude. they would argue argue argue argue for no reasons just to hold you back. The end point, it's always customers fault. Customers should never win. this is what they are trained for afterall.
I'm in the process of fighting with them right now, apparently they don't have anyone there higher up. I said so you own Koodo mobile? of course not so I said then give me someone higher up. They are supposedly sending an email on my behalf and they will get back to me within 24 hours, then she states that it might be a bit longer. BS they are fraudulent with their services because some can get the lesser charges and some can't going to get rid of this phone as soon as I can and no more contracts via paying for a phone! I am sick of their games and am pasting this link into my facebook wall, got lots of friends so watch out Koodo! OH and yes their customer service needs to speak and understand but most of all understand English you are in an English speaking country get with the program Koodo! wrong account info
I've been getting a recorded message from Koodo Mobile every day for weeks now saying I need to call about my account. I do not have an account with them and never have. I called to ask them to stop calling and was told someone must have used my number as their contact number and there's nothing they can do about it. So I just get to continue being woken up every day by a recorded message I cannot dispute because someone else authorized phone calls to my home number.

They promised me over the phone one plan for the specified lower price so that I would stay with them but then when I received my bill, it was a totally different amount. When I called them asking them about it, they told me that this is the right amount and everything was explained to me over the phone. Its all lies. Over the phone they just try to sell you all their different plans. Never believe them! If you want just basic service switch to Chatr, avoid Koodo if you dont want to overpay!

text messages charged 5,00$
I have been charged excessively for services that I didn't request. I completed a survey online that was described as being FREE and at the end I was asked to enter my cell phone number and a pin would be sent to my phone. I was not informed that there would be charges, the fine prints were so tiny they were impossible to read. Also, I was not informed that they would keep sending me unnecessary messages every single day and that I would be charged by my phone company KOODO. I was told in the text messages that I could stop them by replying STOP which I did to every single one of them. However the messages kept coming; and now I have a 141$ bill and another 77$ bill. I feel that I should pay for these texts since I never agreed to receiving any text messages in the first place. I will be filing a complaint with the CRTC and also sending a copy to the vice-president of Marketing at Koodo, Mrs. Lise Doucet. Thank you.

$2.00 text charges
My name is Brandy Miller. My cell phone number is [protected]. I am issuing a complaint because I did not authorize texts to come to my phone number, and Koodo is charging me $2.00 for each one. I was on Facebook, and I completed an IQ quiz. Once I was done the quiz, I was asked to enter my cell # and a pin # would be sent to my phone, I was then supposed to enter the pin # to the quiz to get my results. This went fine; however, I received a number of texts to my phone after that, that I did not authorize. Koodo Mobile is charging me $2.00 per text, and I received at least 12 texts. I feel that I should not have to pay for these texts, because I did not ask for them to be sent to me. Please remove these charges. Thankyou.

Jacky Xing at Koodoo booth of Markville Mall (near Hudson Bay) is extremely rude and never solve your problem. Only create more…. when i ask for his support at the shop, his response is no, no can not, etc…. He will try to find as many excuses to ignore your question.
His rude attitude is already famous in Markham area.

I am user of Koodo mobile number [protected].
since my account renewed internet not working. occasionally I can send and receive messages on WhatsApp only. I checked there is no restriction on any app.
It happened on last renewal too but fixed after a couple of day.
I have tried to get into my account and I get rhe answer my email is not recognised
I have been trying to contact koodo on an out of country, non toll free number for four months. They have NO CUSTOMER SERVICES for out of countyr.
They keep sending emails with a no reply address.
they are threatening to send me to collections when the invoices they sent me are way over inflated.
Worst company ever!

I cancelled my Koodo phone account in Aug. 2021 and went with Telus.
Since that time Koodo is showing unpaid monthly charges on my Credit Score!
The account was CLOSED in Aug. 2021 Why are there still late payment charges showing?
I went to the mobile store in Ajax Ontario (Super Store) June 2022 to get a new cell phone. I just wanted a new phone. I told the man I don't want my services change. I call the United STATES and had my Long Distance for years. I realize they change my services about August 2022. I didn't request my service to change. I want my service back.!
SMS is not working. Neither send nor receive sms working.
