Lightening Bug is amazing!
Lightening Bug is amazing! We have used them several times and they are professional, knowledgeable, and have very fair prices. We just had more service done by them and love Esteban and Miguel. We are planning on continuing more work with them in the very near future. We also love the sales manager, Bobby! We wouldn't ever consider using any other electrical conpany!

Lightning Bug Electric came by for a free estimate for installing our Ring doorbell and security camera. (They don't seem to give an estimate on the phone, which I think makes sense.) The estimate seemed reasonable so we gave the OK for the installation right away. The electrician from Lightning Bug Electric was professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. He even waited around to see everything was working as they should!

Lightning Bug Electric came to repair a faulty light in an indoor room and install a new fixture (where none had ever been) in an outdoor space, and while he was here he discovered a problem with our electrical panel.
He did a good job with both lights and gave us a quote to repair the panel (but did not overly pressure us to have the repair done immediately).
The next time we need an electrician, we will be sure to call and request Lightning Bug Electric.
We had some damage from the past in the main electrical panel. While troubleshooting a different problem Justin's keen eyes spotted the spark damages. The panel being original to the 25 year old house, he advised it was due for replacement anyway and we are glad we took his advice. We had the panel replaced and realized the damages were even worse than was visible from outside, am I glad we had it changed before any major mishap! The panel comes with lifelong warranty, so one less thing to worry about. We are very happy with the services of Lightning Bug Electric, quick to respond and very professional. Justin is dedicated and hard working and spent pretty much the whole day, even foregoing breaks to get the services back up and running with minimal disruption. We are also glad to be on the Bug Club, great features, stays with the address even if you move, so in a way like good insurance for the house and the occupants. I had accidentally drilled into some wiring while installing a storage unit last week, and an entire circuit of ceiling lights went out. I turned off the circuit breaker and removed the problem screws, then called Lightning Bug to come and fix whatever damage I had done. Jessel was the technician who came out to review the situation. He turned the circuit-breaker back on and found the circuit was working again. He reassured me that this meant I hadn't severed any wires or created a fire hazard inside the wall that might cause problems in the future. He wasn't going to charge me anything for the visit, but since I had a long list of other electrical projects I had been hoping to get done anyway, and since he seemed friendly and competent, I asked him to stay and get started on that list. He ended up replacing fluorescent lighting with LED wafer lights in two of my closets and replacing three old smoke detectors with new CO/smoke detectors to bring my 2005 house up to code. Jessel was the one who suggested replacing the detectors, which had not been on my wish list, but after he pointed out that the detectors had turned orangethe manufacturer's indicator to show they needed replacingI remembered I'd been told to replace those by my home inspector last year when I bought the house.
I signed up for Bug Club with this job, and it has already paid for itself. I asked Jessel to outline for me what would be involved in doing six other electrical projects on my wish list. He did that and also gave me written cost estimates, which I'd had trouble getting from three different companies last year. Those estimates should be very helpful for me in prioritizing and budgeting for home improvements.
Jessel also inspected my whole-house surge protection system at my request. I had asked him what I needed to be adequately protected from lightning strikes, and he had described what I would need. He then went outside and found that I already had the system he'd mentioned, so I didn't need a new system.
I thought I had a problem with one of the new CO/smoke detectors Jessel had installed yesterday, when it started chirping this morning as though the battery was dying. I texted Jessel immediately, and he got right back to me and offered to come over again and troubleshoot the problem. We both agreed I would try replacing the battery first. That worked; the battery that had come with the new unit was very low on charge when I tested it after removing it. I was nevertheless impressed that I was offered same-day service to remedy my problem.

I was having difficulty with my refrigerator wall outlet tripping the circuit breaker. Had the refrigerator repair people out several times as well as another electrical company. No one seemed to be able to correct the problem.
Jeremy and Lenin from Lightning Bug came, assessed the problem, changed out the circuit breaker and quickly corrected my problem.
They were very efficient, knowledgeable and professional. I plan to use them again, and would recommend their services.

Justin, my electrician, answered my hundreds of questions patiently, inspected thoroughly, and fixed the issues I initially called for and made sure everything was working properly and safely.

Justin was very efficient and extremely knowledgeable in providing services. This included replacing all of our smoke alarms which were over 10 yrs old. He also moved a fixture location and an outlet. In addition he upgraded several of our light fixtures to be energy efficient. He was friendly and took the time to explain what he did, the benefits, and how to maintain the alarms in the event of an emergency. We rated him as 5 star âï¸ for excellent service. We will use lightning bug electric again and highly recommend them.
These guys did a great job
These guys did a great job. We had big electrical issues in our house which is old and dated. They replaced 3 main breakers, installed 3 surge protectors and installed a main grounding system. We were without power for 7 days in the upstairs. They rearranged schedules to move up our job. Jacob, Jessel, Cody, Little Sam, and Big Sam are real pros. They know what they are doing. Really got us out of a jam. Cody negotiated with our local EMC to convince them not to totally cut off power to our house as we waited for repairs. It was safe and functional and the correct call.

Friendly, customized service, at a reasonable price, professionally delivered when I needed the job done before the next contractor was scheduled to arrive. I told Justin what I wanted, we walked through the job and Justin showed me what could be done and got to work. He notified me immediately of any issues or changes and listened to my input. It felt like a team effort. The end result looks good and I don't need to worry about how reliable the job was - I got to see it all from start to finish. Everyone should RUN to this company! Bobby is amazing and the whole team is outstanding. From Amy in customer service to the technicians, you will feel comfortable throughout the whole process. We had an emergency situation arise and even though the company is super busy they fit us into their schedule and then put up with all of our questions. They did whatever we asked and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and assure everything done was safe and in working order. After going through two other companies I am so glad we found Lightning Bug Electric and we will recommend them to everyone and never use another company!

On 07/29, LBE installed a dedicated 50a circuit for a new tankless water heater. I explained to the technician that my HOA required that everything was done properly and to code. The technician said that this job would be billed and completed as a commercial job to commercial standards and his work would be "beyond reproach"; however, he did not inform me that a permit is required before working in my panel, nor did he pull one. When my plumber came to install the water heater, he asked if the new electrical work was permitted and inspected. I called LBE and asked them to for the permit, but the woman said they are not required to pull one. She promised I would receive a call back on Friday but did not. I had an electrician look at the work over the weekend and they said the work required a permit and was not to code. For example, the wire LBE ran is (unlabeled) stripped NM wire rather than code-compliant THHN. I now have to have this work properly redone by another company.
