AVOID this company at all costs
AVOID this company at all costs. 1) The sales rep entered the incorrect information for the bank account for GoodLeap to take money out, and its been a nightmare. She also entered my phone number incorrectly and when I mentioned it she said she would fix it; her failure to fix it created so much drama with no one being able to contact me when apparently I was in high demand. 2) The install went quickly and smoothly BUT the installer switched the system to "on"--apparently this was a major issue for Centerpoint Energy and I was operating illegally. 3) Lumio continued to submit the schematics incorrectly to Centerpoint which means it took almost 6 months to get permission to operate (simple mistakes to fix aside from the fact that I was operating illegally due to the install tech telling me I should be that took several months to "correct". 4) When I called to complain someone called my phone saying they worked for Lumio, but call him on his *** to get things done, and a reimbursement would be forth coming since I had to begin paying Goodleap for the panels prior to receiving PTO (this conversation was in May). Come the end of June when I called to inquire as to why I never received said reimbursement, I was told the first person I spoke to does not exist within the company, but today they will go ahead and process the request. 5) I received an email from Centerpoint they would pass my inspection despite the schematics never being fixed. All anyone has to say about all of these mistakes is "well, they are fixed now so I don't know what else you want me to do about it." *** lacks complete professionalism in all departments, they do not pay attention to details. I am scared to see what will happen if I needed assistance under their warranty, because at this rate I might call in today and be told tomorrow I spoke with some ghost at the company.

Representative went above and beyond my expectations
Representative went above and beyond my expectations. Now I was ready to go scorch earth because I am only saving $13.00 a month by having solar panels. So when I call the first time today 06.24.22 the first lady did nothing except say that Reliant must be doing something wrong on their end. I called Reliant and they said according to my meter my panels are only producing 130 kwh which translate to $13.00. Now I am seeing "red" because I am paying $213.00 a month for these solar panels and paying $185.00 month for my energy. So I am thinking that I have been scammed, bamboozled, hoodwinked, etc., by Deca now known as Lumio. Again I am ready to go scorched earth and I call back to Lumio. Great thing for them Mrs. answers this time, with all the I could muster I calmly told her what was going on. She put me on hold because she wanted to investigate what was going on with my panels. So in my head I was like "yeah, right you are going to figure out the problem, because the first lady did such a great job of helping me". Low and behold she came back with what was wrong, that being 11 of my 18 panels were not working. My mind was blown because I thought I was only going to be saving $13.00 a month and I am stuck with this lease for the next get to the end. Mrs. was very professional, she found the problem and addressed it. I have a technician coming out on Tuesday to correct the issue with my panels. So I don't know if I have been hoodwinked yet because I don't know if solar will actually save me in the long run. But what I can say is, if you are lucky enough to get Mrs. as your customer care representative you will be well taken care of. I will repost in a month to let you guys know if I am saving money by having solar panels.

It has been one year and I am still waiting for my solar panel installation to be completed. I have been misled by my account manager. I have had to initiate contact with her and Lumio customer service at least once a month for updates. Initially, I received excellent customer service. However, once the documents were signed, the quality of customer service plummeted. I have never received proactive communication for updates, installation information, and most importantly, the repairs needed for the damage to my walls caused by the installation of the solar panel box. My attempts to communicate with my account manager have been met with slow responses, if any. Sometimes, I had to send multiple emails just to elicit a reply. I have also reached out to a higher-level contact and voiced my concerns, but he has not responded either.
In January, I contacted my account manager regarding the panels, which were still not operational, even though it had been over three months since the solar box installation. She informed me that a final walkthrough was pending. Shortly thereafter, a Lumio employee visited to assess the solar box, which was not communicating with the host/solar energy company. He found that the previous staff had failed to activate the box. Following his visit, I received an email confirming a connection had been established and I could set up my account. I waited to hear back from my account manager. After receiving no contact, I called her, and she mentioned she was working on scheduling the final inspection once again. I informed her of the employee's findings, but she dismissed them as unrelated to the delay. Interestingly, once the solar box was activated, my account with the energy company was initiated.
I have repeatedly requested to speak with a manager, but my account manager insists they cannot assist me because it is a scheduling issue. On March 1, 2022, I was told that a manager would contact me by the end of the day. As of today, March 7, 2023, I am still waiting for that call.
I am a very satisfied customer. Everything is great especially when my product arrives, I am very happy saving so much money thanks to Lumio. From 157 to 30 for a connection fee. This is awesome. I would recommend to others that want to save and own power also. Love the environment too. My representative was very helpful and has the answers for all questions. Thank you! From my area
I was informed the whole way through, they handled everything from permit to energy company coordination, and kept me updated. The install was professional, the installers were friendly and knew what they were doing. It took them only about 4 1/2 hours and they briefed me on what to expect next before they left and cleaned up all materials. Easiest install of anything I've experienced, especially these days when everything seems to take so much time and persistence. I like Lumio.
I have a metal roof. They caved in the roof tiles and haven't done anything to resolve this since December. I would definitely stay as far away from this company as possible.
Hi *** we appreciate your feedback with our customer care team and will pass this along to Tkeyah. We look forward to your feedback next month. Please reach out in the meantime if anything comes up.
Be very careful signing up with this company
Be very careful signing up with this company. It is five months later my solar panels are still not operational. These sell representatives come to your home and tell you CenterPoint is sourcing out 30% of there customers for Solar panels to ease the demands on the power grids especially after the winter storms in *** last year. They show you the drawings for where the solar panels will be placed on your home and how they can help you get financing through Good Leaf. You will never get a copy of the plans and drawings which I was told I will get but you don't. I only received the sales contract what how much the loan is *** and your installment payments documents. Even if your panels are not working I am still paying on it. Centerpoint said there is discrepancy as to the number of panels installed. I was told 14 but only 9 was shown. You don't know because everyone is giving me the run around you are paying for panels that are not working or installed. They will not give you a credit towards the loan for panels not installed. They will not tell you how much each panel cost to make. If i am paying for 14 solar panels i should get them are credit me back for the ones not installed. The finance company sent them the check they cash it and you never here from them again. All you get is emails from finance company they want there money. I called customer service no help. The project manager on my paperwork DG just sent the documents to CenterPoint stating less panels were installed then I was told when they sold it to me. You force to pay for panels not installed. The fiance company won't do anything because they sent the check and they cash it. Lumio/DECA will not correct the amount or problem. I am still fighting to get it corrected. This has been since last year. My panels still not working. Do your research on any company before you sign on the dotted line..

We had our solar panels installed late fall, 2022. Installation was smooth, but after that, customer service quality declined. I've noticed how previous comments about the 'sales pitch' deteriorated. That happened to us as well. It took 2 to 3 weeks for the power company to get the panels hooked up, which was done online without the need for a physical visit to our home, yet there was a lack of communication between the two companies. We then started receiving our monthly power bills. Over a four-month period, we've had to pay over $500 for electricity, in addition to our monthly payments! It turns out the salesman was not truthful about the monthly fee being only $15, which we have yet to see. The Tech Support team is unresponsive to our emails and phone calls, leaving us without an explanation for what's happening. When we call customer service, all we hear is 'the system is working properly'. If that's the case, why are there additional fees? Was our home equipped with the correct number of panels? Why are we incurring extra costs? What's the point of solar if it doesn't deliver the promised benefits, according to the salesman? We also installed a new water heater, which seems to be emitting cold air constantly. Could this be contributing to our electrical usage and undermining our savings? When we requested a technician to check the system, customer service refused to send anyone. I would seriously reconsider using this service and this company. Is seeking legal advice the only way to get their attention?
I'm sad, I guess I stupidly believed everything they told me. I told them that I did NOT have any extra money, I can't pay for solar and electricity - ohhh no you won't have to pay for electricity. Well when the panels were installed my electric bill jumped up significantly per month from $117 (I live alone and don't like it cold in my house, it should NEVER be that high). After several phone calls to Lumio I was told they would look into it and call me back, they never called me back. The electric company helped me and got my bill down but I still have it. I expected rebates from the electric company as they will buy my electricity dollar for dollar, no rebate. So the electric company is getting my leftover electricity, and I'm still paying for electric. I'm getting screwed just for trying to do the right thing. So, don't believe the lies; you will pay for the solar panels and you will continue to pay for electricity.
Staff was very professional and communicate with each department well. Issues gets addressed in a timely manner...just have my solar activated yesterday...so far my experienced with Lumio is good.
This company had us sign documents under the impression that we were signing to see if we were qualified for the service. We were told that at that time anything signed was only to see if we were qualified. Shortly after we decided we did not want the service, we received a text stating we would be fined 5-7% of what was owed for canceling when nothing had been installed or even had anyone come to the house to start the installation process with any equipment. This whole process felt pressured and like we were being scammed.
Hi Chanta, thanks for working with our customer care team to find a resolution. The installation for the additional panel is in the process of being scheduled and our team will continue to keep you informed. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out at ***.
First and foremost we are pleased to have solar panels
First and foremost we are pleased to have solar panels. When we first starting to have issues with solar generation we were told that the system needed to be re-connected to wi-fi and to see what power generation the utility company documented. We then said that as we are switching internet providers that we will wait until that switch is complete. Then an illness (a stroke) delayed reconnection for a month. Now, when we called to have our system reconnected, we are told a SVS tech needed to inspect as we are receiving bills from utility. Each time I called SVS *** I was told that a note was sent to scheduling so they then would call me to schedule a visit. Thereafter, each time I called the rep informed me that they would escalate the message so that some one would call. Each time I was told scheduling would call either later the same day or the next day, yet each call did not resolve the scheduling issue. On 1June, knowing I did not have an appointment I went to my Doctors appointment. We are near done with errand when I received an unknown caller, who turned out to be ***, a Low Country Solar tech. To my surprise he was at my home. He called to receive permission to go onto my property, which I gave and informed him that we would be home in several minutes as we were about *** minutes away. *** was very professional, friendly and informative. But, he was gone when we arrived home. Because we live on a dead end street *** had to turn around and come right back past our home. Noticing we were home he stopped and explained all he had done and informed that the system was communicating again, but would take 24hours or so too completely update. We are so glad our solar panels are back up and operating smoothly again. But, my only complaint is that it took too much time to address the issue. The SVS *** needs to properly, timely and efficiently work to solve custs issues.

I would have to say that my wife and I were very skeptical at first. Best decision we could have made. Proposal and Contract signing was on 1/14/23. Very professional, informative and non presured sales approach. We were live and fully functional on 2/3/23. They actually over communicate on the entire process which is very rare these days. We've been in our home 6 years now, 3K square feet. We're excited about our decision!
We actually had worked with the Smart Energy Today part of Lumio several years ago with very good results (installation of a Sol Blanket in the attic of our previous house in a certain location). The result greatly exceeded our expectations. With this solar installation, they have done it again. Our sales representative gave a very thorough explanation of the process and the proposed materials, and came back with a detailed proposal in a very short time. He provided a conservative estimate for the length of the project and getting the approvals (from PSE). The actual project was complete and on line by mid-November - only about 2 months from initial contact to generating power. The actual installation was very fast despite our house having a very challenging roof line. We're getting good power despite the gloomy weather, and the few sunny days we've had show great promise. The direct offset cut our recent bill by two-thirds - looking good for when we hit the peak sunny season.
Just had a visit from a Lumio sales representative today. They informed me that based on my usage and the size of my home, their system could reduce my monthly FPL bill to zero dollars, and I would have the opportunity to sell excess electricity back to the grid. However, the salesperson failed to mention that FPL imposes a minimum monthly charge of $8.99 and a 'Minimum Base Bill' of $25 for customers whose electricity usage falls below $25 per month. Additionally, the salesperson omitted details about recent legislative changes that support a bill set to significantly decrease the rates paid for excess solar energy sold back to the grid for systems installed after January 1, 2023. These overlooked costs associated with FPL billing and reduced compensation for energy buy-back are critical considerations when calculating the financial benefits of a solar installation. For me, these factors were decisive in concluding that the offer was not as beneficial as it initially seemed.
I would recommend this team, highly qualified, on time, and polite. Work ethic very well. They left the work area as they found it. The team were very helpful and organized. My experience was pleasant, informative and I would recommend their services to anyone.
Hi ***, thanks for working with our team to get your power back up. We appreciate taking the time to leave a review here. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do to help.
My experience with Lumio has been stressful and I regret hiring them as my solar installers
My experience with Lumio has been stressful and I regret hiring them as my solar installers.Installation of the panels themselves went relatively smooth. The work was done efficiently so I'm not complaining.Next came the replacement of our electric panel. A three person crew came but it seemed they left one guy to do most of the work and he didn't know what he was doing. They literally cut a whole in my wall that was bigger than the new front panel and I have a 1/2 inch jagged gap above my new panel. I complained and they sent someone to do drywall repair. The drywall repair specialist comes, does about 2 hours of work, and the wall still looks damaged. He says it's the best he can do.The drywall repair specialist's boss comes. He tells me he will reimburse me to get a nice wood panel cover installed but I'll have to contract the work myself and send him a bill. I appreciate the gesture even though it's more work for me.Next comes the utility inspection. Lumio fails inspection three times in a row. Each time a corrections crew is sent to my house and they ask me what they are supposed to do because no one sent them work orders. On his last visit, the inspector tells me if they come again ask them to show their electrical license because he's so shocked by what they didn't do / got wrong. The Lumio sales rep stated in the beginning that if I have panels installed but not turned on, they will cover my premiums. After passing inspection I get no updates from Lumio for weeks. I finally contact them and they are going to send someone to look at my system and if something is wrong they'll cover last month's premium. I explain that no matter what they should reimburse me because the panels are installed and it's not my job to turn the system on.If you have the option to work with anyone else, please do so. I regret ever signing up with Lumio and I have considered breaking my contract multiple times.

we regret to hear that this process did not go smooth as planned. Upon review of your account, it looks as if your system is up and running. Reimbursement for payments made prior to getting your system up and running have been submitted.
Waited 4 mos write review
Waited 4 mos write review. We wanted add solar panels for sev yrs now, but companies providing rooftop solar didnt work in our area. December, saleman from DecaLiving came by and developed plan for us that would work. We were excited - everything sounded great. Salesman went over plan, went over loan documents. Thought everything was on track & were good. Shortly all became headache.1) *** start ~noon. Tried work into the night w/o flashlights using cell phone lights. Had call salesman to get them stop work so we could go to *** come back in the morning.2) Salesman forgot to check box for $1000 rebate promised. Fight w/customer care 3) Contacted from loan company - details of the loan were made clear - details that salesman glossed over. Frustrating. Salesman needs training as loan officer, clearly explain loan ***. My fault - shouldve read fine print.4) We asked salesman for batteries so panels could be used when grid down. He said "batteries = expensive - generator has switch & can feed off panels". Generator on back order. When became available, Deca called & asked if still want. I checked out specs. Just big gas generator. I cancelled it. It took over a month to be reimbursed - bc *** policies" arent same. Then they sent it to my physical address. Mail only comes to PO Box 5) *** begins inspection, Deca install guys never upgraded meter. I call. It takes a month and a half to upgrade meter. Another month local power company to complete inspection/turn on. Deca reimburse 1st mo loan payment, but mail to physical instead PO Box 6) Deca promised reimburse early termination charges when switch power companies to 1 w/solar buy back. I send docs. Agent "puts it in". Month later no $. Call. Lumio no longer sends checks. Resend docs. Will get online credit card? Will probably be happy with panels over time. Not happy w/process/customer service

My panels were installed April 12th
My panels were installed April 12th. The day that my panels were installed I received a call about 30 minutes prior informing me that someone was on their way to measure my house and show me where the panels were going to be placed. However this was not the case. An installation crew showed up instead. I asked them how and where they were going to install the panels and he showed me their plan. It was exactly opposite of what my husband and I had talked to the sales person about since where they installed the panels several panels are shaded throughoutthe day. I voiced my concerns with the installation team which were completely ignored and I was told to "take it up with my sales person". I had to leave to a doctor's *** shortly after this crew showed up and after my *** the crew had already installed all panels and were gone. Not only where the panels not installed where agreed upon during our initial consultation, they where installed sporadically around our vent pipes and look awful. I have called and complained about this issue to any number I can. I've attempted to contact my sales person's boss who literally ignores my calls and he texts "I'll call you right back) and has yet to call me back. I've spoken with the customer service lady several times but only get the answer that "we're looking into it" and "the sales people can't decide who needs to pay for the panels to be moved".An accounts manager reached out to me finally and has pretty much summed it up that the company has no intention of moving all the panels (to the agreed area) or at least the shaded ones. He proceeded to tell me to provide him the diagram that was drawn up for showing the agreed area although I was never given one. I again let him know that the day of install I was told they were only supposed to be measuring not installing and I had to leave my muly oncologist ***. He too is a very nice and slick talker. But no resolution.

Overall I am willing to give AKE Solar Energy, now Lumio, an excellent rating
Overall I am willing to give AKE Solar Energy, now Lumio, an excellent rating. Everyone has been very clean, professional, on time, and friendly. For the most part even the door to door salesmen were truthful in their sales pitches. The one hick-up we had was getting the electricity flowing after the installation was complete. Apparently, the paperwork got lost in the office and *** was not notified the system was ready for their inspection. I had to make two monthly payments on my solar loan before the electricity started to flow, so AKE agreed to make the payments which were supposed to be approximately equal to my power *** before solar. I thought that was fair and considerate of them. Since that time the only problem has been with the readings I was getting on my solar out-put screen on the inter-net (Enlighten/Enphase). First a clamp related to the measuring equipment cracked (maybe from being tightened too tight at original installation by the contractor) then the technician got the wires crossed when he came to repair the clamp. AKE makes all the repairs at their expense and arranges for the technician to come. They were always reasonably responsive and always on time with the scheduled repairs. Now that I have received two bills from the *** (they are my battery system- I did not purchase battery storage) I am fairly confident that the system is producing according to the designed specifications. My *** is essentially only taxes and access charges. I do have a little surplus electricity in escrow with ***. Periodically we will settle-up. It appears I will be getting a check for excess electric production at those times.I am happy to be making a contribution to carbon reduction and paying slightly less for electricity. As fuel prices go up (they just did here) I should save more each year. Just be sure to read the whole contract before your right to rescind expires so you'll know what will happen.

Hi ***, thanks for sharing your experience! Our team works hard to get any repairs taken care of quickly and support you before you reach PTO, so we appreciate your compliments. Glad to see youre enjoying your savings. Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you!
Buyer beware:The only thing positive about this company was the kindness we experienced when we CANCELED OUR CONTRACT
Buyer beware:The only thing positive about this company was the kindness we experienced when we CANCELED OUR CONTRACT. This is a "newly" formed company and it shows. You will NOT be provided with numbers to people who can assist you, and you'll be relegated to inept customer service.1. *** is the only number you will have, aside from your sales persons, when you sign the contract; and even that I had to look up. Then it's a general *** rep., who mostly know nothing about who to transfer you to when things are not going well on your project. The first SEVERAL times I called to try to speak to a supervisor for our account, I was transferred to anyone BUT; and no one could help me. Finally on my last call, I told the rep. I wanted to cancel my contract, as nothing had been done on my project AT ALL 2 mos later. THIS finally got me to the cancelation supervisor. Who was great and understanding and tried to work with us. We agreed, after being promised that our project would be scheduled and finished in the next two weeks, we decided to continue with the project. *** if you tell them you want to cancel, they will be VERY helpful. That's disappointing. 2. Account manager, never, in the 2 mos preceeding the late December call to cancel, contacted us, or provided documentation on installation. We didn't even know his name.We were provided his name when we called to cancel and were given the direct number to the cancelation supervisor if we had more concerns. The account manager spoke to us one time and exchanged a handful of texts that didn't address our questions fully, and did not provide contact information to anyone who could answer our questions and address our concerns. Once again, I had to call customer service to cancel our contract AGAIN, to get any information! They did cancel our contract, so far without issue. But they also did not deliver expectations as stated or expressed in the contract. Zero faith.

I'd like to give 0 stars for this extremely unprofessional Lumio representative's behavior, but it made me pick 1 as the lowest option
I'd like to give 0 stars for this extremely unprofessional Lumio representative's behavior, but it made me pick 1 as the lowest option.Good evening,I had a very negative and unprofessional encounter with one of your representatives going through my neighborhood. When I answered the door, I made it clear from the beginning that I wasn't interested. He continued to not end the conversation even though when I said/conveyed clearly 3 times that I wasn't interested in answering his questions because I wanted to get back to what I was doing. He began to get annoyed with the fact that I was declining to agree to answer his questions so I knew I had to be blunt because he was refusing to leave me alone. I told him that he was wasting my time and that I wanted to get back to what I was doing. Then as I was closing the door, he said something to the effect of "You know what?! You're a f*** [censored]!" Now... I have just a little bit of experience in customer service after serving in the active duty U.S. Army for 23+ years. How he is representing Lumio is not what I would consider "stellar" customer service... obviously. At that point, I closed the door, went back inside, retrieved my phone, and tried to get his name because if I had someone representing my interests in that way when I was in the Army (giving me a horrible reputation), I would want to know. My intent was to contact Lumio as soon as possible and give them his name/location for this incredibly unprofessional behavior. When I caught up with him, he refused to give me his name, so I took his picture. When I was trying again to talk to him about how what he did was not "okay", he continued to be upset and unprofessional. Even the coworkers that were with him appeared to be extremely uncomfortable with the way he was acting.I have a photo that I can't, unfortunately, attach and have contacted Lumio to let them know. Hopefully, they take care of this. What a poor representation of any business.

5/15/22 On 1/21/22 I met with Taz and Wazim at my house
5/15/22 On 1/21/22 I met with Taz and Wazim at my house. I explained that my average *** is between $430-$450 a month. I have Coserv with both gas and electric. After some calculations on their end, I was told Coserv has a buy back program where I will have a $0 *** from Coserv. I will have a $10 charge per month for the meter from Coserv. Whatever credits are left over from electric will cover the gas. The extra energy will be stored in the battery. There is also a federal tax credit I should receive about 26k. I will also get $1000 rebate as new buyer. I explained that my son has Autism and if I pay for solar, 20 years down the line he will have a house with no electric ***. Ill sign up based on this. 64 panels costing $103,000. On 2/7/22 solar panels were installed on the roof. On 3/3/22 Coserv changed the meter to a solar version. Effective 3/3/22 I was generating solar power. On 3/18/22 I was given the news there is no buyback program. I Spoke with Wazim on Sunday and he felt bad and said I would get 2 bills. I will get a *** from Solar and a *** from Coserv. Whats worse is the energy that is left over goes back to the grid. I was very upset and said Ill be paying more now with solar. This makes no sense. I told him he just made a 100k sale and got a nice commission check by lying. I called Coserv the next day and was told there is no buyback program. Coserv said If the solar company said there is a buy back program, they lied to you. I texted Taz regarding this and he said he will talk to Wazim and figure this out. The same day I was working, I saw a patient who is an installer for solar panels for a different company. I explained my situation. He wanted to look at my app. I asked him what app. He said on the day of install they are supposed to download the app with all 64 panels. This way you know which panels are working and at what rate. On 3/25/22 I texted Taz there is no buy back program and Im getting both an electric and a solar ***.

*** will be 1yr & I am still waiting for my solar panel installation to be completed
will be 1yr & I am still waiting for my solar panel installation to be completed. I have been lied to by my account manager ***. I have had to reach out to her and Lumio customer service at least 1x a month for updates. Initially I received the best customer service. However, once documents were signed customer service was out the window. I have never received a call for updates, installation information and most importantly the repairs from the damage that was caused to my walls after installing solar panel box. I have emailed my accountant manager *** for *** come at snails pace if they come. Some times I had to email her several time in order to get a response. I have emailed *** and voiced my concerns and he too has yet to respond. I contacted *** in January regarding panels which were still not working. Mind you it had been over three months since solar box was installed. At this time she informed me that a final walk through was pending. However, soon after I received a visit from a Lumio employee who reported he was there to assess solar box as it was not communicating with the host/solar energy company. He discovered that staff prior to him failed to turn on the box. Soon after I received an email saying a connection was made and I could set up my account. I waited to hear from ***. I called after no contact and *** informed me that she was working on scheduling final inspection again. I informed her of what transpired during the employee visit to my home and she made it seem as if that had nothing todo with the delay. Funny, how once the solar box was turn on my account with energy company was initiated. I have requested numerous time to speak w/ manager and she informs me they can't help me because it's a scheduling issue. On 3/1/2022, was informed tha a manager would be contacting me btmy the end of the day. I am still waiting for a call from her supervisor. today is 3/7/23.
Hello, my name is [Redacted]. I've engaged Lumio for roof and solar panel installation.
Hello, my name is [Redacted]. I signed a contract with Lumio to get my roof replaced and solar panels installed. The first issue was a rescheduled roof installation on the intended day. The work was subcontracted, and communication was a challenge, with only one English-speaking worker. They replaced 10 plywood boards at $100 each plus tax without prior notice or providing evidence of the damage. I was away for only 1.5 hours and returned before they finished. Incorrect shingle color was used, not what I had chosen. When I informed the project manager, no action was taken. I asked for photos of the supposedly damaged plywood; the project manager sent two images that didn't match my roof, yet insisted they were from my property. No resolution followed. Additionally, solar panels were left in my driveway without notification. Despite an email stating my responsibility for the materials, no crew arrived or contacted me about installation. After numerous attempts to reach someone, I emailed the roofing project manager. As I was dealing with a family emergency, the project manager assured me I wouldn't be held responsible for the panels or equipment. Sadly, my sister passed away the following day. Although the panels are now installed, they are not yet operational.

Extremely poor service, deceptive sales practices, confusing and contradictory promises, and the most unprofessional employees and management
Extremely poor service, deceptive sales practices, confusing and contradictory promises, and the most unprofessional employees and management I've EVER encountered. *** knocked on our door and asked if we'd be interested in exploring Solar which we were. he asked for a "brief" return visit to explain the company and scope of work and provide a quote. That visit was over three hours long, and at the end we agreed to see if we qualified for financing and net metering (which he misinformed us about the nature of). He told us to let the company know within 3-7 days about our decision. When on day 7 we declined the proposal (several $K over market), we were issued a $1600 invoice for cancelation of our "account" after the 3-day penalty free period. That was news to us, as we never agreed to the project in the first place! When I complained about this, *** took over a week to reply, and let me know that the invoice would stand because the company "doesn't want to pick and choose what invoices it voids". I asked to be escalated, and he finally connected me with his manager 3 weeks after I first asked to be connected. This manager, ***, repeatedly no-show'd our scheduled calls, would not share his number with me, would not provide availability at reasonable times of day, and ultimately stopped replying to me emails altogether. After 2 weeks of silence I called the customer support number (even though I was NOT a customer) and shared my situation with ***, who was able to quickly and easily do what I had been asking *** and *** to do for over a month - cancel the ridiculous invoice. *** and her team were great, helpful, apologetic, and easy to work with in *** contrast to *** and ***. Together those two were the least professional, most incompetent vendors I've ever had the displeasure of working with. The entire experience with Lumio was humiliating, violating, overlong, fruitless, and unenjoyable. Negative stars, a huge waste of my time.

Beware! I would give ZERO stars if this were an option
Beware! I would give ZERO stars if this were an option.I signed a contract with Lift Energy in March . When I signed my contract I was told the process would take six to eight weeks. When I read the contract, the timeline was estimated to be eight to ten weeks. Panels were installed on my roof in June . It is now January 2022 (TEN MONTHS LATER) and I still do not have an active system. I get nothing but the runaround as to when the system will be active and why the delays. I was offered a $2200 incentive at the beginning of this process that took nine months and multiple phone calls to receive.I started this process when I did to avoid the extremely high energy bills that are inevitable during ***. There were several appointments where Lift reps never showed up and I was not called or, if they did show, the work was not completed. The *** has shown up to every appointment and were not able to do what was needed because Lift reps had not completed their part. Not one time was my property not available to Lift so they could do what needed to be done.To add insult to injury, I was told several times that, because the delays have been on the part of Lift, I would be given assistance toward my high power bills. I was told that my June/July *** ($700) would be covered, then that was rescinded. I was told that my July/August *** ($950) would be covered, then that was rescinded. Then I was told that the June and July bills were not eligible for reimbursement because the still inactive system was not outside of contract. I guess I use a different calendar than they do. Long story short, I was given $900 as assistance to over $4000 in power bills that would not have existed if the solar system was completed and active within the contracted time period.I will give that the sales representative, ***, has been helpful in as much as he has been able. The team who installed the panels on my roof were terrific. The problems began with the electrical panel upgrade. From before the panel was installed I was very clear on the placement of wires coming from the power pole to the house and how they would impact a 4-foot diameter tree that I had just spent $3500 trying to save, but this was not heeded when the panel was installed. This caused the first delay because the *** would not approve the setup without having the tree removed. After many, many calls to the company I was finally able to get them to move where the wires come into the house. It took two missed appointments before their representatives finally came out to fix the problem. This was secondary to the unsafe way that the cables from the panel to grounding were run. An eight inch loop coming off the wall four inches off the ground was left. It is very apparent with all of the play equipment in my yard that there are small children in my household, but this loop took MONTHS to get corrected. I was initially told that I could put an orange cone over it, and maybe this would make the children stay away from it. I could not believe that this was even suggested rather than have them correct the unsafe condition they created! Here we are, ten months later, and the only answer I can get as to why I still don't have an active system is that the county has not approved the permit. If I had known that this is the way this company works, I would have gone with another company. Safety and customer service do not seem to be a concern with this company.

Hi, thank you so much for reaching out to our customer care team and working with us to get this resolved. We are pushing for daily updates from the County of Fresno on your permit. We also appreciate you letting us help get the utility gap covered. You have been very patient and great to work with. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do.

Solar panel installation
I had smart energy today install 24 solar panels on my shop roof after they determined the panel could be installed there. they did all the permitting and installed the panels and everything was working fine until the winter when it snowed, and my shop roof started leaking. I investigated and found the support they screwed into my roof were cutting into the...

In June 2022 my wife and I were solicited "amazing green energy" that would eliminate our energy bill by offsetting our consumption with equal solar panel production. The salesperson (who now I am told no longer works for the company, how convenient) pulled our credit to see if we would qualify for a government subsidized loan for the panels. Then he...

I was sold a solar system for my home by a very nice salesman with no pressure and a promise to think about it for ten days after I sign the contact because it can be canceled with out an issue.
I decided to cancel with in that time frame and also canceled any financing that would be used for the project. No money was used, no survey was done, and 8 months later they tell me I owe a cancelation fee for work being done. Obviously no work was done and it wasn't even on the planning stage, but they want 2,500 thousand for planning. Nothing like that ever got the ok from me so I'm threated that they will turn this bill into collections.
Apparently this complaint is common with lumio as i researched it on the internet.
This business practice is despicable.
Claimed loss: referred to collections

Installation of inverter; 3 1/2 months of waiting for service installation
Beginning approximately June 15 2023, my Solar Edge invertor quit working. Your company did telephone me about the invertor problem and scheduled the repair for the next day.. I was not able to be at my home that day, due to a doctors appointment that was scheduled a year in advance. I asked your agent to reschedule for the next day. The repair appointment...

So almost about a year ago we purchased our solar panels and they came and installed them but almost a year later and we are still not connected to the power company. The contract states that lumio would send us the amount of the monthly payments as a reimbursement for every month that we are not connected. For the first 4 months they have sent us the money but then they stop sending us the reimbursements. So basically we have been paying our light bill with the power company and the monthly payments for the solar. Everything I call them they give us the run around and say that they have our reimbursement in the processing department. They as of today owe us $2100.
Desired outcome: Would like for the company to send us our reimbursement.

Solar
Buyer beware. This company is a SCAM! I strongly suggest not even entertaining them at ALL! One of their salesmen came to my home and told me that I had to sign this form to get a credit check and see if I qualified. I questioned the form and he REASSURED me that it was just a prerequisite to determine if I qualified and it was not a contract and that I was under no obligation. The salesman lied about the next steps and I received a call from scheduling trying to setup an install. I advised that I was not interested nor informed that the installation was in progress. I confirmed I did not wish to move forward. They advised it was ok. Months later I received a call from their company attempting to collect a cancellation fee. Salesman (Jake) now refuses to take my call.
Desired outcome: Remove the cancellation fee

Solar system
This company sucks. Just don't and go with someone else. We started the process in August 2022 and as of 4/14/23 still have no working system and now have to make payments on this AND our power bills. No one is responsive. The city inspection for activation has failed 3x now due to Lumio's irresponsibility to correct their mistakes. The panels sat in our yard for almost two months after their initial inspection failed to note the original location wouldn't work. The guys on site for the actual install had to make an on site correction for the correct electrical box. They took months to get us contact with the project manager and his phone is now disconnected. No one is returning our attempts to remedy this. Their attempt today to have the inspection finished failed due to their inability to correct their own mistakes with the system. Their contracted roofing company was a mess and took nearly a week to finish the job with two small roofs. We have an insanely expensive roof decoration and nothing else.
Desired outcome: They need to take the cost of this project. For all this headache and nothing to show for it, you need to eat this cost.

It’s also an absolute joke if took your company from April to December to respond to this post. Very telling as to how much your company cares beyond money in its pocket.
No, you won’t. Our account has been in “executive resolution” since April 2023. It’s December 2023. We still have no functioning system, the hole in the carport hasn’t been repaired, the supposed check for the hole hasn’t arrived, the supposed contract to fix it never happened (with lies from Lumio about why), the monitoring system doesn’t work, and we’re still paying for this useless system and our power bills. The only upside has been that the roof job is good, if the application was a mess.
Solar panels were installed in June and to this day 08-17-22 are still not turned on
Solar panels were installed in June and to this day 08-17-22 are still not turned on. They ran all permits, inspections, and everything looked great, took pictures of all the panles in May. When there first electrician came out and installed the solar power junction box(june) he looked over all the panels and we talked about reversing the main panel so it could be in the house (didnt want span panel outside)and he said no problem, it can be done. On 08-5-22 the 2nd electrician came out to install the span panel. When he got here he told me the span panel was sent by mail to my address but to this day 08-16-22 the panel still has not been received. He looked over the panels and stated the wiring needed to be all redone and could cost between ***k more and he also said that is on lumio for not accessing properly and that he just got a bunch of complaints similar from other customers. I called lumio and talked to *** there manager and told her that they need to cover the wiring repair cost as i have already paid for everything including the trenching and span panel. She agreed that it's not my fault and they would cover it and she would call on 08-05-22 or that following monday to confirm. Its 08-17-22 and still have not heard from lumio. I'm close to making my third payment and panels are still not on. I've paid $61k and it has been a very unpleasant process and they have breached there contract in there permit process and what was promised. I feel an attorney needs to be involved or a possible class action lawsuit against lumio judging by how many people have trusted this company and spent $20k-$100k in there product and have not gotten what was promised in the contract between lumio and the customer for damages, stresses, anxiety, loss of income caused by lumio.

We received solar panels on 8/8/2022 and in the time since they were installed they have not worked. I had to make phone calls to the city inspector and to my electricy company for most of the communication on all sides as Lumio constantly claimed they would "get in touch" with who they needed to, but hardly did. When they would get in touch there wouldn't be any resolution. It took 5 times to pass inspection with the city. Lumio is still not finished installing all of the electrical work properly in order for the next steps to be taken for my electrical company to install a net meter. The wiring is done wrong and needs to be redone in order for the net meter to be installed. There is a cell receiver that is broken, never worked, and after months we are still waiting for it to be replaced. We are constantly promised that a technician will come out and fix it, and are told we are scheduled, but then we never receive a call about when someone will be here. Someone finally came out this month of Jan 2023, but was unable to fix the problem that day. He promised to be back two days later, but never came back. Lumio is vastly uninformed as every single person I have spoken to Lumio had no idea that *** electricity is de-regulated and that buy-back of electricity isn't always possible. We were promised that our panels would generate 123% of our electricity, that our electric company would pay us back for the extra we produced, and that we would have either no bill from our electric company or a bill of $15 or less. We were also never informed during the entire process that we were signing a second mortgage. At no point did a single person mention the loan was a second mortgage and we were led to believe the loan was a personal loan. We have struggled for months to get refunds and recently started receiving them last month of Dec 2022. We were lied to repeatedly and after 5 months there is still no end in sight as to when our solar panels will finally be operational.
These salesmen show up daily and never have a peddler's license. I work from home and they interrupt my work and homeschooling my kids. I have asked repeatedly for them to stop coming here and they don't. I asked for a supervisor's name and got laughed at. One man made a snide inappropriate joke about a decal on the window of my car. When I told them I will call the authorities because they're harassing me, they've increased the frequency of their visits. One even portrayed himself as an FPL employee and then had to admit his lie. Please make them stop. They're just like spoofed callers/scammers that you can't hang up on, and the fact that they're on your personal property and nearly threatening doesn't help. I tried calling the company but of course, there was no answer and no return call.
We began our journey with the solar company's representative around May 2022. We were assured that the cost of the solar loan would be comparable to our average monthly electricity bill, which turned out to be true. However, contrary to what we were promised, we still receive a bill. Instead of the electricity company paying us for the surplus energy, we find ourselves paying for delivery and base charges each month. These charges range from 50 to 100 dollars, which is more than what we used to pay on our regular electricity plan. Additionally, we were not informed about the power company's fee of over 200 dollars for changing the meter. Now, all we receive are apologies, which offer no consolation as we continue to pay more out of pocket without any resolution. There was a brief moment of hope when we received a 300-dollar refund during an investigation, and that's when the truth was finally disclosed to us. I am now left questioning whether we will ever receive the tax credit that was promised. I have advised many people against going solar, citing not only the costs but also the poor communication, especially regarding the failed inspection and the subsequent successful one. The entire experience has been frustrating, and I feel very misled and deceived, as if the truth was obscured just to secure a sale.
We are in a new community and they are harassing the residents. We have several people, ourselves included that have asked them to STOP knocking aggressively, questioning us when we say no, knocking when there are no soliciting signs CLEARLY posted, asked to STOP being contacted and they will NOT oblige these requests. STOP coming to my home. Weve asked every person that had stopped by to remove us from their solicitation list. Nothing changes. They come every other week. Even people with solar installed are being questioned as to why they wont change their service. If we want to work with you, youve more that announced yourself to us. Leave the community alone. Accept No as a response, not as an opportunity to change it into a yes.

I bought a 6 kw PV solar system from Smart Energy, now owned by Lumio.
I bought a 6 kw PV solar system from Smart Energy in 2020, which has since been acquired by Lumio. The purchase contract specified a completion by June this year. Upon checking the solar performance app, I found that two of my 20 panels were not producing energy, and both solar roof fans were inoperative. I contacted Lumio to report the issue. After a week with no follow-up, I reached out again, only to be told about staff shortages and vague promises of future assistance. This pattern continued for a month. They did provide the fan manufacturer's contact information, suggesting I handle the repairs myself and offered to reimburse my labor, but I've yet to receive any payment. Now, past September, despite numerous emails and calls, no one from Lumio has provided any assurance of repairs. The original seller has no authority over this, so I'm turning to Complaintsboard.com for help. My patience has worn thin with Lumio's staffing excuses and failure to fulfill their contract. Their lack of communication shows a disregard for customer service, marking the worst experience I've ever had.

Lumio came to our door promoting their free installation of their solar panels. We decided to take a chance and do it. Turns out they did not install them correctly and told us theyd be back to do a check up and install them correctly and turn them on. It has been about 6 months of calling and scheduling appointments that they themselves keep canceling. Every new representative we talk to says that they can see that weve been trying to get them to come out for months and that theyre very sorry and they will talk to someone to come out and they never do. I am filing this complaint because we scheduled an appointment for them to come tomorrow and they just sent us a message saying theyre not going to be able to come out. This is very frustrating because theyre charging us about $150 a month and they still havent fixed them or got them to work and told us that if we cancel or dispute the charge that they will send us to collections. We just want this issue resolved so we can have the panels up and working. And a refund for the months they charged us and they were not fixed.
The Solar System stopped producing power in April last year 2022 Right after I finished paying off early and now I can't get them to come out and warranty service it and make it function I've been calling them multiple times and they can't give me a definite answer has to when they're gonna come out and service it they keep hanging up on me not returning my phone calls or if they did schedule an appointment not showing up for them it's been almost a year now And I have this really expensive plastic interruption on my roof for no reason I liked the silver panels when they were working I want them to come out and fix it I was willing to pay for repairs that were needed if it wasn't warranted every time I talk to them now they're telling me that if I have anybody else work on it avoids all their warranty so they would no longer be held responsible for it
Today, on Saturday January 21, 2023, an employee of yours came to my door. This employee rang the doorbell even though we have signs clearly stating no solicitation. These signs are up because members of the household work night shift and disruptions to sleep can cause safety issues. Even though he acknowledged seeing the sign, he stated he felt it didn't apply because he was trying to give information. Either way, when I asked for his identification and door to door sales permit as required by local ordinance, he refused. He finally said his name was the same as mine, though considering that's my name, I'm not sure he was honest. I am asking that this company provide me with a copy of their door to door sales permit as required and to train their staff on the ordinances in the areas they sell. I have video of the encounter if requested.
we understand your frustration. Our customer care team reached out to you and scheduled a technician to come out on September 29 to repair the broken panel. We apologize for the lag in communication and our team is committed to improving customer experience.

We were very concise and had the contract written up several times to account for our concerns with an additional generator that was included in the package. We elected to pay cash for the generator instead of financing to expedite this portion of the project. We were assured that the generator, which to us was more important than the solar project, would be the priority and worked on first, if not simultaneously with the solar portion. The solar panels have now been installed for several months on our home, and we cannot use them because we are still waiting from someone to come back out to sign off on the project. The generator project, which was supposed to be the priority, is still sitting in permitting and permits were not even applied for until after the solar project. In addition, this is only one of multiple permits required for the generator, the second which has not even been applied for yet. We were told it would be done in a couple months from when we signed in June and this project is going to take more than a year. My wife is pregnant and we got hit by hurricane ***, forcing us to buy a generator while being under contract for one that should have been done by that time. We have asked for help numerous times, asked for managers and been ignored, and at one point they tried to tell us we were delaying the project by not signing something, which required THEIR CONTRACTORS signature. That alone took 2 months for them to realize before apologizing and offering nothing for the inconvenience. This has been hands down one of the worst experiences we've had with any business and its progressively getting worse. On top of that, the people in charge of the generator portion have rebranded their company twice already which itself is concerning. We need this resolved ASAP because we could have gone with other providers by now.

In August 2022, I purchased a Solar panel system from Lumio, for $13,000. As of January 3, 2023, my solar panels are still inactive. I am approaching my second billing period for said panels, on January 11, 2023. As of January 3, 2023, my refund for the first billing cycle has not yet been approved by Lumio management. I am asking for a full refund for both billing periods, December and January. Lumio promised to save me money on my electric bill, but as of yet, is only costing me more by billing me for services not provided in addition to my monthly electric bill. A request was submitted for a full refund of two billing cycles, but has neither been issued nor approved. The name on the account is withheld for privacy reasons and the address has been omitted.
lumio sold me these panels for $65000 that doesn't produce even 20% consumption needed for my property. they put in system too small for my house and tried to sell me more panels later. My electric bill went from $350 per month to 800 per month with solar panels. i requested them to take the system down since they its wrong system for the house and they did nothing. i called the sales pesonr who initially came in to put the system and explained him what's happening and he threatened me that if i compliant to the office he will take care of me himself. pretty scary. this company is a fraud they sell you system that doesn't work please be aware of them.
Solar Panels installed in April 2022; still not connected and working as of January 2023.Every 2-3 months I get a new account manager - only because I follow up with the company.Every time I call in to request status, I get caught between their customer service and their scheduling department as to who they want to blame for the delays. This company does not return phone calls, they do not fulfill their contracts. Please do not sign up with Lumio or Zenith Security DBA DECA or any of their new partner companies that are being absorbed into Lumio. At this point I would just want them to come get the panels off of my home because there is no way that they will be reliable even if they do finally get the panels hooked up. Go with someone local that has techs in your area. Do not go with Lumio.
I am legally blind and my father is an 84-year-old retired Air Force Captain with dementia. A few months ago, sales representatives from Lumio visited our home and sold us a solar panel system. I informed them of my visual impairment and requested that they read the contract to me. They assured me the system would cost $250 per month for two years, so I agreed to the terms.
However, the system has not been activated due to a failed inspection. Recently, I received a bill from GoodLeap, their billing company, indicating that I owe over $69,000, with monthly payments of $230 for 18 months, followed by $350 thereafter. The representatives never disclosed the total cost or that the credit check was for a nearly $70,000 loan. Had I been aware of this, I would have declined the offer.
Attempts to resolve this issue have been futile. My calls result in lengthy holds or promises for callbacks that never happen. On one occasion, I was transferred to a supervisor who either hung up or was disconnected and did not return my call. When I called back, I was informed that the supervisor had left for the day, and without an extension number, I would have to endure the hold process again.
I feel exploited and am receiving the runaround. I no longer wish to have any association with their system. I demand its removal and compensation for the necessary repairs to my roof and siding, which I prefer to be done by the original companies that installed them.
Hi ***, we understand your frustrations and unfortunately can't do anything until your city approves the permit, which can take up to 120 days. Once complete, we'll be able to install the generator. Until, there isn't much we can do unfortunately. We have submitted your first reimbursement which was sent over a couple of weeks ago. Please continue working with our team to get your generator installed.
I had a group of three representatives come to my home yesterday (8/24/2022)
I had a group of three representatives come to my home yesterday (8/24/2022). My wife told them 3 times that we were not interested, despite that, they insisted on talking to me. The reps were nice enough, but I soured on the interaction after I scheduled a consultation for the following day. Here's a list:1) They ignored my wife telling them 3 times we weren't interested. They insisted they speak with "the king of the castle". I don't appreciate the dismissal of my wife's authority.2) The reps were nice, but it came off as ingratiating. They focused quite a bit on things other than what they were selling. They also insisted they weren't selling anything. So not only did they waste my time with talk only meant to butter me up, they lied to me about selling.3) The rep who appeared to be in charge spoke way too fast, the other who rep spoke mumbled. I had to ask for repetitions several times.4) My wife pointed to our no soliciting sign. They insisted they weren't soliciting because they were sent there. I don't recall who sent them to us, but they also claimed "it's a big deal" when they show up. I don't care, it wasn't at my request.5) The rep in charge claimed to either be from my power company or were affiliated with them. I was surprised, but didn't question it at the time. After the interaction, I called my power company and they told me in no uncertain terms that they were not in fact affiliated with Lumio. The reps straight up lied to me - this ultimately led me to cancel the consultation.6) They showed up at my door at 6:00pm, interrupting my dinner.I canceled the consultation via email, letting them know that I knew they lied to me. To the rep's credit, they honored my request not to show up or contact me again. The reps also had my name and DOB. I don't know who furnished that information to you, but I don't think it's appropriate for you to have that info without me explicitly giving it to you.

Lumio is charging a monthly fee that is being automatically withdrawn from my bank account since October 1, 2022, and I have no working fully installed solar at my house. Lumio has acquired GoodLeap as the financial company for their financial aid that takes the monthly fee out of my bank account and they told me they don't care if my solar is installed and working or not. They will take their money and if I tell my bank to stop them from taking my money, GoodLeap will threaten to damage my credit and I currently have an 800 credit score that I don't want ruined. I would like to file a complaint against GoodLeap also.

We were sold solar panels by the Lumio sales representatives one evening. To begin with, they assured us that they had already determined our household's energy consumption and knew exactly what we needed. They promised that our energy production would be set between 108 to 110, which they claimed would ensure we would never receive an electricity bill. We were also informed that the panels we were purchasing were the best available and that we wouldn't require a battery or any additional equipment, guaranteeing an uninterrupted power supply.
However, we quickly discovered that these claims were false. As a resolution, Lumio proposed that they would provide funds for us to buy a small generator, acknowledging that the panels they had sold us were not yet in production. Subsequently, our electricity bills began to arrive from the recommended provider, and to our dismay, we found ourselves paying three times more than what we used to pay for conventional electricity.
After numerous conversations with different representatives, it was revealed that they had used an incorrect method to calculate our energy needs and, contrary to their initial statement, had never actually checked our previous energy consumption. This was yet another fabrication. Later, one of our sales representatives contacted us to claim we had no grounds for complaint. I was later informed that he was not authorized to call and address me in the unprofessional manner that he did.
The company is now requesting a year's worth of electric bills to devise a potential solution. However, they are reluctant to acknowledge that they fabricated information to secure a sale. They stood at our doorstep, assuring us they had done their due diligence. It has become clear that we were misled from the start. I am no longer interested in excuses; I want Lumio to settle the loan and retrieve their panels. The sale was predicated on multiple falsehoods, which amounts to fraud. It is unacceptable for a company to employ representatives who deliberately deceive customers to make sales.

We agreed and signed contract for installation and financing of solar panel installation back mid-August
We agreed and signed contract for installation and financing of solar panel installation back mid-August. Bottom line, the work has not been complete as promised due to many cases of bad communication and just terrible customer service. The salesman promised that the job would not be started until all equipment was available due to some shipping problems across the . Well, two weeks later, we were contacted and they gave us an install date about a week later, which totally shocked us and we asked if they had everything (we needed 31 panels). They said yes, and showed up the following week and, after about two hours, the worker along with his supervisor which just pulled up, told us they don't have the panels in yet. And, so the long process began with coverups and lies. I let them know my displeasure but we rescheduled after I let them know how each day me or the wife have to make ourselves available we are losing money from our jobs. So, to make a long story short, we went through this same event going on around 10 times as of today's no-show! Oh yeah, the panels did get up but never could get them running correctly; bad transducer, bad panel, bad transducer, bad panel, etc. So, we are still paying our monthly electric *** when we were promised we would be up and running after signing contract within 3-5 weeks *** So, we financed our install for $65k going on three months ago and still they cannot complete the job. We cannot get the salesmen that signed the contract to return our calls or texts. Oh yeah, another thing, the salesman said as we wrapped up, since you are a Veteran ***, we want to cover the first three months of payments for you. After telling this to customer service many times, we finally got someone to fess up. I think the salesmen are a fraud that just say what the need to so they can get a sale! I had high hopes of them just doing what we paid for but as you can see, they cannot deliver!

The system was installed in September across three different days. Equipment arrival delays and the time needed to install on a high-pitched, two-story, tile roof necessitated those extra install days. Following installation, the system experienced trouble connecting to Enphase and required electrical upgrades and troubleshooting of 2 micro inverters before inspection could occur. These extenuating circumstances were unforeseen at the beginning of the project but unfortunately occur as with any other construction project, which added additional time to get the system operational. However, a check was sent to the customer on November 22, the day before the system passed final inspection, for the three months of free solar included in the sale, at which time the customer expressed satisfaction.
We hired Lumio to replace our roof
We hired Lumio to replace our roof . We paid them over *** to replace said roof. In the end they only replaced about *** alter it and add gutters. He said it would be easiest to leave them as is and his guys would take care of it. We also had a discussion about increasing the size of the drains and he told us it was probably doable but that we should check with the roofer during the install. On the day of the installation I noticed that they hadnt done anything with that portion of the roof so I sent the salesperson an email inquiring about this and he responded with I made it clear that we dont do gutters. So we responded with I know that but this is part of the roof drainage and we had talked about this and increasing the size of the downspouts and you never said that you werent doing this portion of the roof - otherwise we would have had someone else replace our roof. He eventually admitted in correspondence to remembering our conversation about the downspouts and leaving the roof the way it is instead of changing it. He also said that he thought leaving it meant doing nothing with it. He also admitted that this is kind of a gray area?So at this point we still owe them the other half of the roof money and I dont want to pay them until they finish our roof. I have had several email conversations with different people from the company and now they have stopped responding to me. We feel like we were deceived. We should have been told before we committed to having them do the project. I would have NEVER paid someone to partially replace our roof. As it stands we are trying to get bids from other roofing contractors and its been tough. They all tell us that this will void our new roof warranty. So we are stuck at this point. I am hoping you can help us because Im not sure what to do. Thank you

On March 17th, 2022, we got solar panels from Lumio
On March 17th, 2022, we got solar panels from Lumio. Its now August, and our panels still have not been activated. On top of this, we found out approximately 2 weeks ago that the solar panels were hot wired into our houses wiring, and when we turn off our main breaker, the power from the panels is still live. This led to two technicians almost electrocuting themselves, and put our house at risk of catching on fire. They had no way to turn off the power and stop the sparking when they accidentally poked into a wire, and this exposed the issue of the panels being hot wired into our system. As of now, the power is grounded outside the house, but if anything shorts it inside again, we have no way to turn it off. They also discovered that our main panel has not been upgraded, but we were told months ago that it was. Lumio has known about this for almost 2 weeks, but claimed that they couldnt come to our property until the 4th of August to fix it. This puts my entire family at risk because we have no way to remove the power if anything with the panels goes wrong. Along with this, Lumio has sent an apprentice to our house on two separate occasions to do work alone, which is illegal. The last time they did, the city inspector noticed and made him leave. This has led to us no longer trusting in the techs that Lumio is sending to our property. Finally, we were told by Lumio when they installed our panels to swap our power plan over to a buy back plan ASAP, so that we wouldnt lose any extra power we produced. We swapped our plan, and now that we havent been activated, our power *** has skyrocketed to $450/month because this plan is much more expensive. I called Lumio last Thursday and brought all of this to their attention and asked for compensation for our ridiculous power ***, because if they had finished the install, we wouldnt be paying for power at all. They scheduled a call for 4pm, but I still havent received a call after 4 days.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.

We had solar panels installed on our home on 8/8/22
We had solar panels installed on our home on 8/8/22. The hook up and moving of our power meter and electrical box was to happen "mid-October." We called at the end of October and we weren't even on the schedule! Over the next 6 weeks random Lumio people came to do partial jobs and we had to tell them, "No you're not". For example someone showed up saying they were going to install our new electrical box. First of all, they need the power company to do this and they were oblivious to the fact that we were relocating the box! The next person showed up and said something about our meter being in the wrong place according to the city codes. We live in an unincorporated County area! Just clueless, all of them.As soon as I got involved, my husband had been handling this and he is way too nice, I contacted the person who sold us the system. I told him we were canceling as of 12/8/22! I kept re-iterating to this person and he couldn't get any answers from the "mother ship" either. Then my husband gets a call saying they will come and complete the entire job on 12/22/22. So, I gave them this chance. They show up on this date and quickly realize that they can't finish the job because they don't have a trencher coming. It seems they fired all the trenchers 2 days before the job and didn't tell the job manager this! No communication what so ever. Well, the power company was here that day and they can't get an appt with them until 1/5/23. I have been calling customer care and was told last week that it got elevated to an *** team last week. The guy who sold us the system told us it was elevated weeks ago! Once again, no communication or just lies not sure which!I have been trying to cancel since 12/22/22 and will! The executive care team hasn't returned any calls. As of now, I am canceling and no one from Lumio is allowed on my property! I do not want to hear anymore excuses because that's all they are, excuses for their ineptness!

We received door-to-door solicitation from DECA/Lumio in February 2022
We received door-to-door solicitation from DECA/Lumio in February 2022. They offered us an addition of 12 solar panels to our existing set of panels previously approved by Odessa inspectors. The panels were installed on 2/28. We were not scheduled for a city inspection until 4/28. The inspection failed and required installation corrections. Lumio presented to make corrections on 5/28/22. The inspection failed a second time on 6/30/22. Another Technician arrived for a correction on 7/20/22. The inspection failed for a third time on 7/26/22. The Lumio rep and city inspector noted that it appeared that none of the required changes were ever made. During the time frame from February through July, we have contacted customer care repeatedly and they have provided gift cards for the number of payments being made without service due to failed inspections upon request. However, they have also made numerous excuses and been condescending in not taking accountability or resolving the issues. They have at times blamed us the customer and even the city inspectors. We have had technicians come without plans or knowledge of what repairs and corrections need to be made. The only thing noticeable was swapping out a few wires on the boxes which did not resolve the issues. They have at time even asked us what needed to be done when the information should have been relayed from the inspector to the Lumio rep to the office for scheduling corrections to the technician attempting to make corrections. We were even told today the supervisor in charge of scheduling the technicians was demoted today. We are reaching out to first hold Lumio accountable and second to ensure that they send a technician with the knowledge, information, and supplies needed to make the corrections and update the electrical line diagram to correctly reflect our original and added panel setup configuration in order for these panels to pass with the city and be cut on so they can actually be used.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Hi Zatricia, thanks for your patience as we worked to resolve your concerns. Now that all corrections have been completed, we are working to get the inspection rescheduled. Please continue working with our customer care team to have any other issues resolved.
We contracted with Lumio to install solar panels on our roof
We contracted with Lumio to install solar panels on our roof. We were told to be patient that the process could be delayed by inspectors. Everything went fine until after the panels were installed, the inspection by the city electrical inspector was done, and the Electric Provider- *** came to install the meter. WE were told at the time of the meter installation that two of the wires were backward and the meter could not be installed. WE called Lumio immediately and were told that they would "get right on it and get you on the schedule". I asked about getting a refund on the loan payments we had already made for October and November as our panels were not working. They assured us that they would be happy to refund the payments. We waited two weeks with no contact so we called in again. We were again told that we were "on the scheduled and will get right on it, but we use a third party installer so I need to reach out to them" I asked for the status of the refund and was told that it comes as a gift card though email. I asked how long that would take and they said it had to be approved and could take up to two weeks. (at that time I had already waited two weeks with no email).I called again in about 3 days about getting the wires flip flopped which is roughly a 10 minute job at the most and was again told the same thing. "we will get you on the schedule right away. I am happy to refund you" and when I point out that "I have been told that before" they say "we will escalate this right away." I have repeatedly asked for a supervisor and keep getting told that they "use a third party for installations and they do not have any contact information." I have a loan now for $54,000.00 which we have to pay $233 per month on. The payment website keeps showing two different payment amounts due and keeps showing that we owe a payment so we made double payments and now have to pay for December. I called yesterday on 12/21/2022 to get the same answer.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Hi ***, we understand your frustration and appreciate you reaching out to bring this to our attention. We are currently processing your reimbursement for your loan payment and it should be sent out shortly. Your system has passed inspection and we have requested for your power company to install the production meter but are waiting to hear back from them. Please reach out to our customer care team with any questions or concerns in the meantime.
In April this year we entered into a contract with lumio solar here in east ***
In April this year we entered into a contract with lumio solar here in east ***. we were told during our meeting with the lumio associates that if we went with them, we would never have an electric *** and that they would personally help us find an electric provider that would pay us for our unused/excess solar produced, and we explained that we had read that most companies only offer credits for your excess solar and we did not want to do that, we felt that since we have to pay cash that we wanted to be paid in cash as well. the associate said they fully understood and agreed that would be a viable option and they would help us find the right company to go with. This never happened, and to date we have found no company that pays cash for our solar, only give power credits. we were also told that Lumio had a special program for disabled veterans and that within a week or so of signing the contract, Lumio *** send us a bonus check for $1000 for agreeing to go solar, and do date this hasnt happened. the system was install in april but never passed city final inspection because of not completing work the permit required them to do. I have spoken with the only associate from Lumio who will still respond and have gotten false truths and the run around about finishing our job. In May i spoke to the associate from Lumio and explained that we wanted out of the contract because nothing they told us has turned out to be true. the Lumio associate had told me on numerous occasions that their crews were coming to fix the issues, but nothing. Finally I was told that the ones that signed the permit to do our job was not authorized to do so and now no longer works for the company but that the company was still looking into how this can be fixed. I again told them that we wanted out of the contract and did not want to pay for a system we could not use. i was told that the information was relayed up the chain and that it will be a long process to remove the contract.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Hi ***, our customer care team has reached out to inform you that your contract will be canceled and your panels will be removed from your roof. We appreciate your patience and effort throughout this process. Please continue working with them to have the panels removed.
This problem started back in February 2022
This problem started back in February 2022. Panels were installed, then after that we had to do all the work. Our project manager Jesu V was not returning our calls or our text to get answers on why our panels were not being turned on. But magically when we got close to the first date of a payment needing to be made, did stuff finally get turned on and we thought we were good to go. Well then two weeks ago 4 months after the panels have been installed 2 months think that we were collecting energy, we received another call from Lumio. We were told that they need to switch out our electric box because the wattage was to weak to get the full potential from the solar panels. Why wasn't this done back in February when the panels were first put up? Why did it take 4 months later? They had to cut off all electricity to our home for 8+ hours, on a day that was 100+ degrees outside and I have two small children. After the electric box was replaced and approved by my city inspector, we were told someone would be out to turn the panels on. We were again PTO and they would schedule someone again waiting. It just so happened that Saturday another sales rep from Lumio rang my doorbell and was trying to sell me panels. As he proceed to talk I told him that I am already a customer, a dissatisfied customer. I proceed to tell him what was going on and he got on the phone with his boss. The sales rep and myself turned on my panels. What happened to needing an inspector? Oh, and did I mention this is the 2nd time I supposedly needed a inspector to turn my panels on. So here I am not only paying 3 months worth of payments on panels and an electricity bill as well. I was lead to believe the job was done. Some kind of additional compensation besides the gift card I signed up for and yet to receive, as well I was also promised a reimbursement check I have yet to receive too is needed. My 2nd complaint as my original complaint was closed as I thought the issues were fixed.

The sales team I worked with - *** were outstanding! No pushy sales games, they did not make me feel pressured, but they did give me answers to all of my questions! From the Electrician to the Panel Installers - the team was so kind and helpful! In just two weeks Ive produced the same kWh I get billed for during this time of year and that is with overcasted days! I am pretty excited!

This has to be the worst solar company out there. I got my system installed (not completed) in August 2022. The sales person offered me to pay for one full year of service, I havent received any credit for that. The lack of communication is just unacceptable, I have to be the one calling in for status. I would never refer any of my family members to this company, please do your research and check their reviews. Today is March 10, 2023 and my system is not yet completed, To be honest I dont even want it anymore, so please do you research and avoid yourself and your headache.
All staff very professional. I had several questions and was able to get answers to all of them. The weather delayed installation, but it was completed as soon as possible.
Hi Miechia, thanks for reaching out. Our customer care team has reached out to you to discuss your concerns and possible reimbursement. Please continue to work with them to find a resolution.
