I am a driver
My name is Robert Schmidt
Drivers License: C0113249
Subject: Remove Hold on my Lyft Driver's Account
My lift contract is on hold due to an unjustified complaint that I am prejudiced against people of color. After more than 2300 rides with Lyft and a larger quantity with Uber, I have never before been accused of being discriminatory.
The circumstances were as follows:
I received a notice and drove to the pickup location. Two ladies of Color, with large afros, just outside of a bar, were waiting for a pickup. They were obviously inebriated. That did not deter me from my duties as an Lyft driver with a customer advocacy attitude. I do not care about the race, color, creed or religion of any of my riders. My job is to provide a wonderful rider experience.
When I entered the destination address, the Lyft GPS was nonresponsive. I informed the ladies that I could not take them to their destination as the GPS was not working. The ladies became belligerent, condescending and insulting. I tried to explain that I could not guarantee to get them to their destination and they should call for another driver. They were unreasonable and I had to ask them to vacate my vehicle.
Placing my Lyft account on suspension and then on hold without a hearing is unfair and has caused me a great deal of income loss.
Please remove the hold on my account IMMEDIATELY.
I have hundreds of testimonials as to my customer service and safe driving. If you would like me to provide testimonials I will forward some to you.
Robert
Desired outcome: Remove my account from hold.
Lyft Scam
Lyft provides literally no way to cancel a scheduled ride.
I've spent 45 minutes in the Lyft app and online and there is no way to cancel.
No chat is available. The emails they provide are bogus (inoperable email addresses). Their 855-phone number only tells you to email their customer service (giving a bogus email address). Even the "Delete" your account area of their app is bogus. You can't actually delete your account when you click through.
I've filed a pre-emptive complaint with Chase Bank, having them put info in my account database making clear I tried, two days prior to the scheduled pick-up, that I tried for 45 minutes to contact this scam company.
Insensitive to rider/customer
This is the worst customer friendly rider app. They encourage their drivers to treat riders badly or rob them while protecting the drivers and offering no concern to riders. Took a ride in houston. The driver was so reckless that he almost killed us both during the ride and cos of this some of my belongings lie phone fell into the car. 10mins after the ride i contacted LYFT to help get my phone back. But they refused to assist me with talking to their driver or even giving his details so I can retrieve my item even though the ride was terrible for me. Till this day the haven’t returned the phone or offer any help to me even though the Lyft driver almost killed me during the ride. Very Insensitive to customers. So their drivers can actually rob or kill you and Lyft will do nothing..
Lyft Driver
March 8, Driver Alyse Receipt No. [protected]. Hispanic mal3 drives a silver mercedes e class. I have called 3 times he hangs up left messages on two of them and messaged him 3 times. His addresss is 3990 Vitruvial Way, Addison, TX 75001. I still am unable on the 11 of March for you all to help me and now you are saying my complaint is too short. This is an IPhone and my personal life that is missing. When will you all start the process
Desired outcome: My Iphone back with case and refund since I had to spend $799 on a new phone
Lyft ride
I had a doctor's appointment yesterday, and Lyft charged me $56 for the ride there, but then only $18 for the ride back home...
I contacted Lyft through Messenger concerning what I felt was being overcharged, and they told me that it was the price to explain that the difference in ride pricing could have been because of high demand when the ride was requested, but this made no sense at all because less than 30 minutes later, after my appointment I got the exact same ride back home, and it was like 2 1/2 time less.
Also, during the drive there I asked the driver about this, and he showed me his screen that said he was only getting $16 for the ride. This means that Lyft took $44 for themselves, which is highway robbery. Upon explaining this to the agent in chat, he immediately did what Lyft's so called 'Support agent' always do when they know they are wrong, he just dipped, and left the chat session completely. This seems to be both Lyft & Uber's business model, steal whatever you want to steal from the riders, then make it impossible for them to get any help. Regardless, I want my stolen $30 returned to my Lyft Cash balance, from which the ride was paid, as well as a more realistic Support contact option!
Desired outcome: Refund of money overcharged for ride at 12:38pm EST on March 7, 2023.A functional Support Contact for problems using Lyft.
Pricing practices
I booked a ride from the airport to home today and when I booked, was quoted around $30. When I arrived home, the charge was $67. This is dishonest and something they do on a frequent basis, especially during busy times. You will book a ride at a rate and if demand goes up, they will not assign a driver to you unless you cancel and re-book at a higher price. I'm for free enterprise, but these businesses need to be held accountable and not use these kinds of charging practices.
Desired outcome: Some form of regulation for these companies. I now find Cabs more honest without the price fixing. They need to honor prices quoted.
everything about lyft is terrible
I am so sick of lyft ...your drivers cancel whenever they feel like it ,,I had doctors appts and two drivers canceled for no reason ...I missed three appts last month because of your incompetent drivers...they are rude they are late, their cars are filthy , they stink & are germ filled ..they have tiny cars with terrible shocks that kill my body and they cause me panic attacks //one driver was three times the size he should have been ,,probably 600 pounds and he was only 35...That guy who is a heart attack waiting to happen, should not be driving himself around, let alone anyone else ...We cannot call you , there is no way to call or text you ...I hate LYFT and i need an actual van or SUV for a medicl transport
Desired outcome: all of the problems addressed and fixed & I want a healthy driver not a grossly obese unhealthy person who could not guarantee me a safe healthy clean ride
Ride
Set up an account and scheduled a ride for the next day. Received confirmation and several reminders on the day of pickup. A few minutes before pickup received a text that my ride had been cancelled and to reschedule. Tried to do so but my credit card was requested and rejected. Ordered Lyft cash which was promptly charged to the same credit card. Thinking this might be a scam immediately cancelled membership. Unable to reach company by phone or website. Have filed a challenge with the credit card company. Will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the state AG. Something is very wrong.
Desired outcome: Refund of my unused Lyft cash.
lyft fraudulent Charges against my card.
Your company has inadvertently charged fake charges to my card, charges I did not make, primarily because I have not used your services. I am therefore requesting that you refund all my money, in fact a fraudulent charge was made to my account as early as this morning for $10.98, I am disputing all charges posted to my card. I addition, I have filed a complaint against your company for fraud with the Attorney General's office of the State of Illinois, concerning these fraudulent charges. If the AG does not resolve it then i will seek other legal remedies.
This charge was made to my card as early as this morning. It is a fraudulent charge, made by someone else.

I sought a lyft ride to the airport. Just under three miles in length. The driver was prompt, courteous and charged me a reasonable price. $13.78.
Four days later, I sought a ride from the airport back to my original pick up point. The driver (Mazin) took longer than expected to call me for confirmation. I called him and he stated he was waiting for me at San Diego Airport terminal one. Terminal one has been closed for months for construction. I confirmed I was at terminal two and he eventually picked me up. Mazin charged me for his blunder $40.15 and the extra miles and time to get to my actual location. I do not believe I should pay for his error.
I tried to attach photos but your site has limited allowable formats.
Desired outcome: Refund me approximately $27.00 for this mistake.
Charges for ride
My son scheduled a ride using my cards on the app.
February 3, 2023 card was charged a fee for a ride; card removed because I didn’t want this card charged added another card and it was charged for the ride to the place and back home which was fine. All together that’s 3 charges.
February 4 2023 charge was placed on my card but there was no ride scheduled, which is a total of 4 charges. 1st and last charges not returned; this is thievery.
Desired outcome: Money returned

Case # [protected]
Deputy Raymond Suarez
Broward County Sheriff’s Department
On January 5, 2023, I contacted Lyft to transport my wife and I to the airport. We were picked up at 6650 N Andrews Ave and taken to 100 Terminal Dr Fort Lauderdale, FL. The pickup time was 3:31 PM and we were dropped off at 3:54 PM.
Our driver was only identified as Khaled and he drove a dark colored Kia Optima.
Shortly after arriving at the airport, I received a notice from Lyft that I would be charged an $80.00 damage fee. They attached photos and later, during a text rebuttal with Lyft, I was told it was urine. It was on my wife’s seat. I immediately photographed and sent a photo of the backside of my wife’s pants indicating they were dry. It should be noted in the Lyft photo that the wet seats had significant wear however, there were covers on the seats when we were transported.
Through a lengthy text dialog with Lyft, they stated that they “re-opened your case and after extensive review of the information provided by both you and the Driver, no adjustments will be made to this claim”. When asked what was meant by “extensive review”, they stated they were “ending this session”.
I requested a Lyft case number: [protected].
All texts and photos are available upon request.
Desired outcome: Filed with the Sheriff's Department. This appears to be an ongoing scam. I contact Lyft through the app and was dismissed. I got this message from Valentina, but she would not respond to my complaint: ([protected]) has been updated.
Driver deactivation
I accepted a ride from a rider who was drunk and when he got in the car he began cursing at me. I asked him to exit my vehicle and told him to go get another drink. He started walking towards me and I put the accelerator down and got away from there. To make a long story short this drunk called Lyft and said I pointed a gun at him. This is totally untrue as I have never owned a gun in my life. Lyft then deactivated my account and now I have lost my job based on a false accusation. I have given 1524 rides for Lyft and maintain a 5 star rating. Yet they take a drunks word over mine. There is no appeal and they will not answer any of my emails. I want my job back and wonder if I have any recourse.
Desired outcome: I want to be reactivated.
lyft customer non service
Took a lyft ride as I do on many occassions only this time i forgot my phone in the cab. lyft refuses to put me in touch with the driver unless i sign in to my app . which i cannot do since i do not have my phone. they refuse to conatct their driver so i can recover my phone
Pickup 6:00 PM
3103 NE 25th St, Ocala, FL
Drop-off 6:38 PM
NE 125th Terrace Rd, Silver Springs, FL
Desired outcome: recovery of my phone
Driver cancellation 1 minute before arrival
Today I ordered a Lyft to go under a mile to an appointment. I chose the 9 minute wait and my ride would cost just about $10.
I was headed to a medical appointment. I could see that the driver was 1 block away, 1 minute away according to the Lyft app. Then, he just disappeared. No more driver! I was dropped. WTF!
A minute or so later, I see that I need to wait yet another 5-6 minutes from a new driver who was dropping another rider off.
If I'd had 15 minutes to spare, I would have ordered the cheaper wait 15 minutes Lyft to start.
I understand it was a short ride, like a 2 -3 minute ride, bur considering I always leave a good tip AND considering it was the same $ fare for a ride I did last week that was MUCH farther her away, what gives?
Now the $ difference isn't much but I feel scammed by this last minute switcheroo and I was late for my appointment.
Unless this is normal driver behavior, I am filing a formal complaint.
WTF. Not cool.

Desired outcome: How about a formal complaint of driver and credit?
One of your drivers stole my cell phone!
One 11/28/22 at 4:28 p.m. I left my cell phone by accident. I do not remember his name. But, he picked me up at my home address and took me to 7 Medical Parkway Farmers Branch, Tx 75234. On that day I called and texted my phone all that day. The following day the driver called me from my phone to let me know that yes, he did have my phone and he will return it to me the following day. I told him that I knew that there would be a $15.00 fee for this, and I said fine. To this very day I have not gotten my phone back. For more details about what happened, you can email me at [protected]@yahoo.com. THIS DRIVER IS A THEFIT!
Like the last complaint, I left my cellphone in the driver's backseat and then had a harrowing ride with him. I immediately contacted Lyft for help and am now on my third attempt to receive a professional response.
I would gladly pay the $15 fee. I need my cellphone back. I am disabled and unable to drive, and without my cellphone I am trapped at home.
I am a Lyft Pink customer, but I won't be using Lyft again. I am switching to ALTO, which is more expensive but the drivers are employees and accountable.
Lyft driver pay
Lyft has changed what they promise to pay their drivers. This is not a choice we were given it was just mandated and they said here it is that’s the way it’s going to be this allows them to keep about half of the fair for themselves and the Bears are not less than Uber. I have documentation to prove all of this. however, I can only upload three images. I have uploaded the rate car which they claim is what they follow and then I have uploaded the examples of a ride a week or two ago plus one yesterday which, if you can see is a significant difference of income I believe this new method. They are no longer penis per time thereby based on what Lyft estimation fair to be from Marathon in the middle keys of Florida to the Miami in Airport. This is also consistent with a trip from Marathon to the Key West’s Airport, which is a 50 mile distance or any other trip that takes about 15 miles for that we used to earn $80 earlier this year now we are earning $60 and they are charging riders . $120 to $130.
Apparently, according to the Lyft app, they’re trying to call this “upfront pay*”, which means they’re only paying us by the mile and they’re treating us otherwise, as you can see in the rate comparisons the difference & how they’re ‘stealing!’ THIS IS WHY THE DOL WANTS THEM TO CLASSIFY US AS EMPLOYEES TO PREVENT WAGE THEFT!
No, I know for a fact Miami Dade has a wage theft law that is employers are stealing from employees they are they can be liable for treble damages! I don’t know about Broward Palm Beach and I don’t think Monroe county has that. but they should! With this age of gig employees they need protection!
They also used to show us what passengers paid; both Uber and Lyft are no longer doing that! LESS transparency means more chances for abuse like this!
*BTW, if it’s truly was upfront pay, it would be about the same as previous fares. I also have proof that a trip from Marathon to Key West usually paid in a year or two ago $100, this year has been typically $80! NOW they’re paying us about $60 for a 50 mile trip under the guys of ‘upfront pay’ I have this documented in both my Uber and Lyft apps! they’re stealing from us, drivers and hiding it!
This is a full explanation of what Lyft is doing to steal a higher percentage from drivers: (And disguise that they are doing so!)
https://www.lyft.com/hub/posts/upfront-earnings?locale_language=en&locale_region=US
Desired outcome: Lyft be fair and honest and up front about pay. Otherwise the Department of Labor (DOL) should reclassify all drivers as employees, eligible for minimum wage for every hour logged on to drive, regardless of how much we actually drive!
False advertising
The last time I drove for Lyft after 3 years, there was a Streak Bonus offered from 11pm-12am. I have always gotten rides during that time in the 3 years I’ve driven but this night during the supposedly bonus time, I was most definitely inside the Streak area and got NOT ONE RIDE. THEN, magically at 12:02 I began getting back to back rides because there was no more bonus being offered. They were all short rides so I only made under $20 until 1am when the next Streak Bonus started. THEN i got one ride that was $3.23 and then NOT ONE MORE RIDE during that bonus streak offer. This is NOT a coincidence. In my 3 years of driving i have ALWAYS GOTTEN RIDES during the 11-12 hour and also during the 1am-2am and they have been back to back almost continuously. NEVER have i gotten zero rides.
This is a blatantly obvious manipulation on Lyfts part and it makes me sick to my stomach. I spent 3 hours and made under $20! They should be put out of business or penalized at least and I this should NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN. I stopped driving for them after that night last week and am furious. How dare the cheat us out of making the bonus or any money at all. I even had a puppy sitter I had to PAY so I LOST money that night. I am furious, angry and hate this company for doing such manipulating, conniving business tactics! I’m letting every online platform know about this as well as wrote the BBB and wrote to a lawyer about this manipulation and false advertising.
I’m sick of them laughing all the way to the bank while they keep half the money they charge the customer and we make barely enough to maintain our automobiles, gas and our time!

Desired outcome: Giving me a bonus and not doing this again to me or anyone else although I know I’ll never get anything and won’t even hear from them.
No service, no e-mails, no one answers the phone, no online chat, no actual cost
I spent hours after I set up the account and read the service fees that showed up but then disappeared after I accepted. Kept calling, followed all On-line help suggestions but got nowhere, Type in your question but there is no sent button, screen goes away. Site says during prime time there are substantial fare increases. However you can't tell what days or hours that might apply.
There may be airport charges, fees, taxes, time could increase due to traffic.
You get no help, have no guarrantes, no E-mails, no on-line chat.
I'd be a sucker to use this site!
