refund of air tickets
In March 2009 I booked airtickets (Mumbai - SFO) through Make my trip. In Nov Delta cancelled their flight sto Mumbai. Make my trip was informed by the airlines of this change but they never bothered informing us. Upon calling Delta Airlines in CA we were told to apply for a refund. Couple of months later we realised that Delta had processed the refund & sent it to Make my Trip as the booking was made through them.
Make my Trip never bothered contacting us even at this point. 2 months have passed but they have not contacted us or refunded the money.
I have called them repeatedly and each time I am told that someone from India team would call me back.
I have also emailed them with all details (The amount refunded by Delta, Their refund reference, Date of refund, etc) But nobody is responding to my calls or emails. They just don't care- they claim 24/7 customer service but that is only when you want to book. When the time to refund comes they vanish.
Make my Trip owes me INR 24, 000 and no calls/emails. They cheat customers from US very easily .
They have made their money by duping honest customers & fraudulantly not sending their refunds.
With such bad service I will never ever book through them. Such companies should be sued & forced to pay a penalty for such pathetic service

refund of cancelled ticket
This is regarding my bus ticket booked through Makemytrip.com, on 13/04/10, booking ID is BUS50009116130367.I cancelled this ticket on 13th of april itself, that is before 24 hrs of journey (journey date 14th of April, 10) & supposed to get a refund of Rs. 825. As I was told, it should be done within 7 days but it still not refunded by them. Whenever I call to their customer service, I get the same reply that wait for 48 hours.I've got the same reply for 4 times.Whenever I drop a mail to them, I never get any response.
Please mark my words.They are the biggest frauds. The latest excuse given by them was that there was some problem from vendor side.Earlier they said that there is some technical glitch. They will never refund your money if you cancel the ticket. Why should I bother about the vendor problem, if I paid the money to you. While deducting the payment, there was no problem at all.
If anyone from MMT is looking at it...just respond...what is the meaning of 7 days for you...& why the money is not yet refunded.

My (round trip ticket) flight from newark to delhi (10 Feb, 2009) was cancelled due to weather related problems and I had to book flight in another airline at separate expense to get to India, because it was an emergency. Make my trip has still to date not refunded my money for the one leg of journey ($448 = Rs 21000). My make my trip booking ID is FUSINT20002080595.
We have taken this case to small claims court in New York to sue this fraudulent & inefficient company. If anybody have faced any problems with make-my-trip (in USA), I suggest you to take them to small claims court (you can apply online), and they will make sure, you get your payback for suffering. We will make our experience public in NYC newspapers & on internet, to make people aware of this fraudulent company.

It will help, if you are from NYC because make my trip has office in NYC and small claims require you to file the case in the court location, where the defendant resides.

I had a very very bad experience with makemytrip.com US. I booked two continental flights from san francisco-delhi in June for travel on DECember 21st for $2208 (before christmas fares are very high) and they went through online, Also I got confirmation from makemytrip. Next day makemytrip agent calls me and tells me that your booking has not gone through, she tried to give me different date ticket which was after the christmas which I never wanted to take.
After 1 month of calling to their helpline number and shouting on them, I gave up, They gave me a longer flight with 4 stopover and takes 50 hours to reach delhi (instead of 20hrs). I had no option but to take it, because prices got very hiked for dates of christmas. Also they issued me paper tickets.
10 days before the actual flight, makemytrip emailed me and said, your ticket schedule has been changed, and the paper ticket got cancelled, and they will not allow me to board the plane with this paper ticket. Nobody in helpline, nobody in Newyork office helped me. I helped myself contacted Malaysia airline LA office directly, but they say ticket has been issued by travel agent [censor] makemytrip and they cannot do anything, I faxed them copy of tickets, I sent makemytrip back old tickets, and then they issued me new tickets when my fall semester exams were going. I was so freeked out and so depressed and annoyed at that time,
I take pledge that me or any of my relative or any of my friend will never book ticket from makemytrip and I will take all my efforts to bring the business of this company down. They are the baddest travel agent in this world.
In lieu to save $30 on makemytrip, I ended up spending $100 or more, (on overnight couriers, faxes, phone calls, exam grades [censor]ed, so much of mental harrasement, tension )

Anurag, Congratulations! If you really want them to teach a lesson, you should get the MORE amount you had initially asked for. They prolly made a ton of money off of others anyway by their fraudulent tactics! So my 2 cents is that, DONT PITY THEM and just take the extra amount!
We went through the court hearing and "make my trip" representative had no defense against the case. The guy was trembling, when we started to give the proof in support of the case. At Last, the judge agreed to our claims. We just received the official court letter noting us about winning the case and total award amount which we should get from "make my trp"(refund + 3% interest).
Even before, we receive the official letter from court, we receive a email from make my trip saying that they are refunding the amount to my credit card account :) I am trying to decide, whether I should press for full claim money (which I asked for more) or just let these b*st*rds go with the refund amount.
At least, I taught a lesson to the fraudulent airline agency!

I booked a ticket from Delhi to Bangalore for 1st March (for same day as it was an emergency) through the website of makemytrip.com. I wanted to reach there soon so I checked the flight status. In results the website www.makemytrip.com showed us the earliest flight at 18:00 hrs. which was convinent to us. But when I completed the process including the payment it showed me flight timing at 21:20 hrs. I was totally shocked and worried by seeing the timings because 1. I was in really in hurry and 2. It was already paid. So I decided to call up to Makemytrip and the customer care told me that "I really apologies for the inconvinence but this was due to some technical default on the website" then I said ok then kindly reschedule my flight at an earlier timing then they said it can surely be done but you on the respective airlines can do this and when I asked for cancellation they asked me to pay a charge of rs. 1000 for it while this all was done from there (makemytrip) backend. This is not all I had to face a lot of trouble even after paying 1000 rs. due to there fault.
My concern here is not those 1000 rs. but my concern is are they making fool of us who believe such companies and book tickets online. Imagine if they get 1000 queries in a day and if they do same thing with any 10 customers and charge rs. 1000 on each then I am sure makemytrip can easily earn 30, 000 rs. in a month. Just by fooling its customers. Is there any way to stop it and get my 1000 rs. refund?
Also whosoever is coming through this complaint I would recommend not to use any service provided by Makemytrip.com as they maybe fooling you and earning lots of thousands from you.

I have canceled 2 tickets booked online via MakeMyTrip.com. The booking reference ids are as under:

The refund amount for the cancellations was not credited to my account. Inspite of repeated mails, calls to customer care the company has failed to give me a satisfactory reply. The cancellation refund amounts to 12500/- (approx) and the amount refunded to me is only 1178/-
Every time the customer care individuals tell me that the refund has been made but there are no credits to my bank account.
In case the MakeMyTrip.com says that the refund has been generated they MUST supply following details:
1. DATE OF REFUND
2. BANK ACCOUNT NO & BANK NAME
3. AMOUNT OF REFUND
4. WIRE TRANSFER NO.
PS: The followup calls & mails has resulted in a wastage of my time & Money

Mr Pradeep, that is exactly what they say all the time, follow up with "x" follow up with "Y". They fool people with their sweet words, and keep pushing people from one person to another, strongly putting the fault at either the airline or the customer, trust me they are very good at that.
This was the first time we booked tickets from Make My Trip . We were issued paper tickets where it was clearly written refundable on the ticket. And they send a mail saying the ticket being non refundable. What does it mean? Why is the money becoming nonrefundable in mail whereas the paper ticket has a printed assurance that its REFUNDABLE. Later, we cancelled the tickets online with Lufthansa. Make my trip claimed that the tickets were nonrefundable. We asked for a change in itenerary and were even ready to pay the extra price of the current value of the ticket, but these clever people charged double that what direct lufthansa was offering at that time, as freshly issued tickets. Lufthansa said 2000+something per person for a fresh ticket and Make My Trip said they have 4000+something per person for the existing tickets. Hearing the price offered by Make my trip we had to say we coudnt afford it and finally went with direct purchase from lufthansa. So you see how they made a huge profit by using a few extremely talented salesman who will keep debating unless you are tired of calling and talking out the same thing over and over, everytime stating the problem from scratch. Finally being tired of talking to them, we sank on the couch, thinking what to do and how to manage another pair of fresh tickets. Because by then we had understood what Make My Trip was up to. THEY ARE VERY GOOD AT ONE THING. PLAY WITH WORDS, BLAME THE OTHER PARTY AND KEEP ASKING THE CUSTOMER TO CALL BACK AFTER SOMETIME, WITH THE ASSURANCE THAT THEY WILL SOLVE IT THIS TIME. ALL LIES.

I was trying to book tickets via Makemy trip.com on sept 23rd to fly from Pune to Chennai on Oct 2009. When the website took all the details abt the bank to withdraw money to issue tickets, everything was going smooth. At the end of "process complete", I got a message saying, the system has some problem and so tickets are not yet issued. If any money charged from credit card, it would be refinded in 14 days. please try again". I tried again for the second time and the same message was sent via email. The next day, they refunded for only one time and the second time, they did not refund the money. After waiting for almost 2 months. We called them several times to refund the money but the useless, careless, thick skinned employers kept saying, someone will call u regarding this matter or I have passed this to the higher authorities or to the respective dept to verify . We sent email to the company that we will lodge a complaint in the conusmer court and also showed proof of withdrawals of money from the bank passbook but nothing happened till date.
I seriously think those idiots get salary by cheating the customers like this.
Govt shd take serious action against these companies and I am going to spread the word of this stupid company to all the people i know in this world who will never ever book tickets from this cheating company.

It's been almost 3 months, I did not receive my refund. I used to be loyal and regular customer. Now i need to book my ticket for 8th of August. I am staying in dubai, I had booked a holiday package to leh ladakh (8th july 2012) that was costing me 55, 000/- I booked it 3 months in advance, I paid a booking amount of 10, 000/- Later becuase of by vacations I had to delay the package for 3 days as I was landing to india on 10th july ( I.E after my package date) I informed their agents on 1 week of may I.E 45 days before the package. They had no suitable dates for the package. I dont want to cancell the package so I suggested them instead of leh ladakh give me a package close to leh ladakh I.E kashmir, they informed me that my 10, 000/- Will not be adjusted if I do that and also I will have to pay 20, 000 additional for flight and hotel cancellation then I have to book a fresh holiday package for kashmir by paying 45, 000/- Isnt it redicilous they informed me that any ammendment or change in destination we have to bare all the cancellation charges. What if a person doesnt pay the cancellation charges and end his trip will make my trip bare that 20, 000/- ? Are you making us fool. I dont know what kind of conditions are these which was not informed to us when we paid the booking amount they never discussed all this I would have not booked the package if this was the condition. I have been trying to follow up with their agents sending emails to them but they are not responding they were good before receiving the booking amount and now they are not bothered of customer service. I have raised a request of refund of UDF charges two months back, since then I have been just following up with MMT with no resolution.
They are holding my money unnecessarily and making me going round and round. Such a big service company doesn't have an escalation matrix either. I don't think they are very professional and eager to grow their business, as they cannot solve small issues.
My refund amount is not so huge, so I can wait for their revert, but one thing I am sure that I won't do bookings through MMT at all in future, neither I would recommend anyone to do that.
MakeMyTip Guys, Please enable your customer care folks so that they can help resolving simple tasks. Let me explain my bad experience with MMT. I used mobile app on 21st Aug to book domestic flight from Bangalore to Trivandrum back to Bangalore. Strangely, I received confirmation with onward correct but return with wrong sector Indore to Delhi. Surprised to the wrong sector called customer care immediately to make the changes, Naveen cust care exec suggested that I will wait for 24hrs to check log to see if its the system error or if I'm claiming wrong. I call back next day after 24hrs and was suggested by Cust care exec Urvashi that I cancel the wrong sector to be able to book the correct sector later. BTW my husband's travel date was 25th Aug 2015. When I tried cancelling wrong sector, both the sectors got cancelled since the booking ID was one unique for both the sectors. Now I'm clueless about the refund and so I requested my husband to cancel his trip since incurred loss already. I waited for 7 days as suggested by MMT for refund but again I receive refund for Indore-Delhi sector. When called back for refund for BLR-Trviandrum I haven't got a clear answer nor have I received the refund. Today 9/9, I was on call for 1hr 20mnts talking to cust care exec Deepak and flr manager Mohammed to know about my refund status. Surprisingly flr manager's system is not working and so he's unable to email me the cancelation confirmation and commitment to repay my refund. Since I insisted for a reference number or email from Mohammed, he finally provided Refund ref no: IN1508R4S425040. I'm asked to wait for another 7 days to get the refund and so keeping my fingers crossed to receive my complete refund.

I booked an round-trip air ticket on Nov 11 with booking ID of FLT00007762988. The total charge was Rs4873. At night I was called and told the return flight 9W-2121 was not available. I checked the website again and when the service person called back, I told her to change the return flight to G8-371 (from the flight on Sun night to Mon morning). I remember the quoted price of G8-371 at the time was Rs200-300 cheaper than the 9W-2121. But the billing amount in invoice I received the following day remained Rs4873. I made several requests via hotline and email, but no satisfactory response was received.
All the information I received from [protected]@makemytrip.com look quite illogical, inconsistent and ill-grounded.
1) I received in email titled “MakeMyTrip E-Ticket for Booking ID FLT00007762988” on Nov 11. It shows the charge for departure flight and return flight Rs2333 respectively, but with a total charge of Rs4873. So far I didn’t get an explanation under what account rule Rs2333 + 2333 equals Rs4873. I don’t think this invoice would be regarded valid by any government agency or organization.
2) "At the outset, we apologize for the inconvenience caused to you. With reference to your mail we would like to inform the price for Mumbai to bang lore which was been booked by you was 2333 INR and the ticket is issued in the amount of 2229.
We have process this request to the concerned department to process an amount of 104 INR. We request to please cross check with your bank after 10 working days."
- I received this email on Nov 18 from Prashant.[protected]@makemytrip.com on behalf of [protected]@makemytrip.com. No refund ever happened.
3) At my request, they sent me this new 'correct invoice'.

- My question remains the same: there are no mathematical equations here. Rs1+Rs2339+Rs200 ≠ Rs2592, Rs1+Rs2228 ≠ Rs2281. Besides, the total amount for departure flight SG344 here(Rs2592) is different from the number in the original invoice(Rs2333). Why? These figures look to me suspiciously manipulated. I sent mails on Nov 24, Nov 25 and Dec 16 for further clarification on these points and was not responded ever since.

They still didn't have a clue which return flight on earth I actually take. Is that the reason why it’s so difficult to figure out the correct billing amount?
I cannot believe these sloppy and self-contradictory messages come from single one company if there be any internal training and control systems in place.
The price difference is trivial. But the indiffernce and arrogance they show really makes my indignant. Simply because this is smal money, they can rightfully put this money into pocket without giving a justified reason to the customer? When issuing or making up invoices, they don't even bother to make it look mathematically correct at least. What can I say?
I will go to file a consumer grievance complaint againt MakeMyTrip on deceitful business, or faking invoice, or simply road robbery.
Please think twice before you book on MakeMyTrip. If you are bold enough to go, make sure you take screen shot for every step during the online transaction, keep all the sent and received emails, and record all the conversations in serivce line, in case you go to a lawsuit against them in future.

i got a call from makemytrip call center saying that they have a great deal for me. i pay some money (which i did online through my credit card) and i would get membership to Makemytrip and would get a holiday package with it. I made a prompt payment and i was promised that the details would be mailed to me.
i got just this clipped e mail from them saying we recieved your payment thank you (it was like saying... 'we fooled you!')..there was no further communication. No replies to my emails. there was a mention of an 'inbound number' in the first mail sent to me..which seemed like a telephone no ...and i tried calling them. No one answers that phone. their toll free no is there again to fool me. each time i get thru..all i hear... is ...some chatter .select this no for speaking in english...n then it goes on...only...to say..please visit our website... n gets cut.
i have my credit card statement as proof of the said payment. please advice on what to do.

worst e-ticket format and no return ticket information
e-ticket which they sent has no return ticket information though i booked return ticket open for my parents visit visa . Immigration at hyderabad stopped my parents as printed e-ticket itinerary does not show return ticket information . after 3 hours discussion with Airlines & immigration, airlines checked the ticket on their system and gave the print out of complete e-ticket itinerary including return .
when i called make my trip customer care, they are keep saying no need to show return ticket at immigration . this customer care sucks... I relazed one more time how the quality of indian airlines travel agent support .
I never recomend booking through this site though they offer less fare.. it's a big hassle

I had booked my air ticket fro Cochin to kolkata on 25th Sept 2009 vide MakeMyTrip Booking ID : FLT00006737520. And cancelled the ticket on 27th Sept 2009 vide Reference ID: IN0909R0079917.

fraudulent double charges on credit card
Hello, Add me to the long-list of the miserables who've used a Credit Card on MakeMyTrip.com & paid twice. On 16th June, I tried booking a ticket on Mumbai-Riyadh-Mumbai sector on makemytrip.com for 18th travel date. I was happy at the fares shown on makemytrip.com website as they were the cheapest. I was using a friend's (Mr Virendra K.)credit card trying to complete the booking. However, the site wouldn't take my booking citing problems with the credit card.
Naturally, I gave up, But, soon as I received a call from their call centre (they must've gotten my details from the form I filled on their page). One Mr Avi Jain asked me why I abandoned purchase of the ticket & offered help. When I complained that the site was turning down the credit card, he asked us to try again. When that failed, I requested him to send me the ticket offline; i was willing to pay cash. He blocked the ticket & I was directed to their MIDC, Andheri office to pay in cash & collect the ticket the next day. I repeatedly enquired whether they'd still charged the Credit Card & he denied saying the transaction has not gone through.
Since the fare was cheap, I dashed to their Andheri office the next day morning. I met one Ms Sangeeta Jadhav who completed the transaction & gave me my ticket for 18th June. Their booking ID is IN0906B04541 I was so enamored that I offered to send them a complimentary email for their good service, which I did.
But, little did I know that my nightmare had just begun. When I came back from Riyadh, my friend called me to inform that makemytrip.com still charged the Credit Card with the full ticket amount. I was aghast. When I called Ms Sangeeta Jadhav in their Andheri office, she pointed out that this was routine system error & all I needed to do was send them a fax of the statement to reverse the charges. And then makemytrip.com's true colours started unfolding.
I must've send 10 faxes, but on every call after that they claimed that no fax was received, inspite of we having a Fax sent confirmation. Then we sent the scan of the Credit Card statement. Again, none was received & whenever they received it, it was not opening.
After too much pestering, their Gurgoan call centre asked to send the details now to their Gurgaon office. Again all the faxes sent were not received & their telephones just kept ringing away. I kept blasting away emails threatening to complain to consumer forums but nothing worked. All I kept getting was canned service emails repeatedly asking to send the statement scans again.
Just on curiosity, I googled Makemytrip.com for consumer complaints & what do I find? They are notorious for this double-charging, snagging credit card details, cheating on refunds & what not! No wonder the consumer forum complaint did not work on them; this is their business model - double charge & loot whichever unsuspecting guy happens to give them their Credit Card details.
Honestly, I don't know if I'll ever get back my money. The next credit card statement has come in with interest levied on their previous amount. I hope to get justice & money back. Also, I want to know if there is a way to punish & shut down fraud companies like MakeMyTrip.com.

I have had the worst customer care experience with the makemytrip. I seriously am so much frustated with the way customer care talks and answers your query.
I wanted to reschedule my parents tickets because of medical emergency which was booked for 29th Aug (PNR No. - YQC4FA). I called up yesterday (5th June) and talked to "Ruchika". After talking for an hour on phone she told me that the reschedule penalty is 300$ plus the airfare difference. I asked her to book it for 14th of july because on makemytrip website I could see the airfare was $726 per ticket (means the airfare difference would be $4). She told me that the airfare difference on her system is 100$. I do not understand why two interfaces of the same system is giving such a big difference. She explained it to me that sometimes airlines put extra charges for the reschedule. I asked her whats the cancellation charge? She replied after "10 minutes" and checking on the system that its the same as reschule penalty which is $300. I said just go ahead and cancel my tickets and I will book it again from your website. It was saving me 200$, makes sense?
She said if she can call me back after doing all the formalities and confirm it. I said I am fine with that.
I did not recieve any calls from makemytrip for one day. After checking on the website again I found that airfare was increased for 14th of July. Even though I could see for 15th of July its showing 724$ (airfare differnce of $2 from my original fare).
I called up again today (6th of June) and I talked to "Sapna". After again going through the same process and an hour long call, she told me that the airfare difference is $60, why? On your website its showing 10 different flights with airfare difference of $2? she explained that she is giving me the confirmed seats and on the website you never know if its confirmed, weird isn't it?
I asked "Sapna" to just cancel my tickets (I wanted to avoid all this discussion) and I will book it through website. She told me that cancellation charges are $375? Why "Ruchika" told me its $300 and I asked her the same. She said "oh its Ruchika, let me talk to her" and after talking to her she said "by mistake she quoted $300 to you"? MISTAKE after checking the system and after an hour long waiting on call?
I asked "Sapna" if I can talk to any supervisor or Manager because I am not getting the answer. She said that nobody is there and they will come at 10:30 AM (right now it should be 7:30 AM). So all the agents work without any superior in the company? When I asked she gave me the names of her Manager "Gaurav Kamboj" and "Deepthi Khare".
With no other options I contacted the web chat if I can get some answers there. I talked to "Rishabh Bhardwaj". After explaining him everything he mentioned that he will connect my chat to the concerned department. He connected me to "Sapna" again, what a coincidence? I am speachless! I asked her if I can get the phone number or email id? she did not reply back to me. THERE IS NO ANSWER ON THE WEB CHAT FOR 20 minutes! "Are you there Sapna" and the answer is "yes", but where are my answers?
I don't know what should I do and where should I contact. If this is the customer care service I am sure makemytrip will fall down very badly in future. In this age of so much competition you are causing so much inconvience for the customer and wastage of time. There is no answers and everybody is quoting a different price, and the best part is there is no synchronization in your own system? And you don't get your answers at all.
I am really afraid If I want to do business with makemytrip again! I have been a customer since long but I seriously dont want to go through makemytrip customer care at all.
Could you please help me out in reschedule? or please help me talking to anyone responsible and who knows the process! Please someone answer why there is so much money difference in the makemytrip website and customer care system? Does they pull air fare from difference resources?

I do not agree that this is the indian culture. I do agree that indian customer care is acting sick and pathetic and causing so much inconvinience to the customrs.
I must say that I have had wonderful experiences with US customer care. They resolve the issues and talk very nicely and give you the best options. You will always feel satisfied.
I do not understand why it is the money game. Why they dont understand that the customer is wasting his time and money on some stupid game they are playing with their friends. They dont want to show it to the management and hide it and keep on making mistakes.

I booked a ticket on which a laptop bag was offered. I never got any kind of mail asking for any extra details. After 10 days I make a call to customer service and they tell me that I had to send a mail to specific email id to get bag.
Since all the details from permanent address to contact details and flight details are with MakeMyTrip, then what extra details do they want.

Sought to add cities to point to point routing to enable "around the World" fare calculation. Staff unable to find capable person to deal with request, although I had arranged first two segments with phone agent sucessfully, telling them I wanted to add additional cities after Indian destination.
Used independent research at www.thegreatescapade.com to determine partner airlines to accomplish correct routing for journey after India (via Singapore Air and Air New Zealand) back to the US.
Also, Difficult phone conversation because of line quality, being cut off, and non-native English speaking staff.

I had tried to book a ticket from ALD to NDLS from MakeMyTrip.com but twice the process got stuck at the payments page and I had to drop the idea of booking the ticket from this site. When I checked my account I was deducted for both the transactions although no ticket was booked. My transaction IDs were RAL6000778986 and RAL6000778854. After 3-4 days I got the refund for one of them. But the other one is still pending although I have made hundreds of emails and phone calls to them and every time I am given the assurance 'Sir this time please wait 48 working hours and you will surely get a reply or a refund' but I always find my inbox waiting for their email. On being asked I have also mailed them the bank account statement 4 times to them but every now and then they say sir please mail it again the attachment isn't opening here. I am fed up with their service as they pay no heed to customer service and don't even give a reply. Please someone solve this yaar...

Make my trip sold me fraud tickect, the reason why i can say fraud is from june 30 2012 i am calling every day and spending around 3 hrs on the phone with your customer support i only get below responses
1) Seats are not available ----> airlines can see the avaliability
2) Seats are available but unable to price ---> airlines can see the avaliability
3) tickect is exchanged to airline --- > airlines can see no issue
4) Cannot make change call airlines ----- > called airlines they always say only makemytrip can make change
5) sent email to concerned department and supervisor --------------- > i don't what that department does no response for 12 days
6) When i aks for senior/superviser they never transfer the call, after waiting for 30 minutes they will transfer the call to some other customer support person.
7) We will arrange call back ----------- only one time priya thakur contaced me and left voice mail.
I want to make the date change for 3 passengers, if you have not issued the fraud ticket please change the date, i checked/conference with air lines, they can see seats available and price the ticket.

I booked a ticket and had to cancel some 6 weeks back, number one they charge my card for the ticket then charge again for the cancellation fee while the consumers are expected with 2 way money stuck up with them for how long i dont know ... I mean what is this guys ...had i known this kind of a business practice with no ethics no responsibility whatsoever. I feel like I have followed up a zillion times already and am less hopeful as I keep reading complaints against them for malpractice.
High time someone should check them out for such wrongful business tactics simply making money with both hands while customers like us suffer.
If anyone has had a chance of getting their refunds please advise cause as they claim to refund in 6-to- 8 weeks i doubt that its going to happen as 6 week s have already passed by and I have no solid from them if and how they r going to refund by or b4 the 8th week !
They are the worst people I have dealt with. They made the trip hell for my elderly parents who were travelling alone to India. The agent who booked my parents for this trip booked for them separate Internation and Domestic sectors. So when my parents took the connecting flight within India they had to pay Rs.6000/kg as domestic extra baggage fees ( which came out to almost $500 each way) .As some of you may know that travelling international you are allowed 2 bags 50lbs (23kg) each but in domestic they would allow my parents to carry only 1 bag 44lbs It is the most ridiculous thing I have heard. My parents are american citizens and for them to be able to carry international baggage till India and then pay for the rest was stupid on the part of the airlines. they lost almost $1000 over this fuss.
And they had the nerve to blame my parents for this mistake that we did not consider that.
and they have the worst customer service I can imagine everyone puts you on hold for almost 30 minutes minimum.

I (Ravindra B.) booked a flight ticket through online service MakeMyTrip Pvt. Ltd. The booking ID is FLT00007145392.
The flight timing shown while booking didnot match that on the airticket issued per email. Further the flight IC 7801 from Delhi to Kanpur on 3rd Nov 2009 apparently got rescheduled and I was told that I can get full refund from the Makemytrip. The Airlines endorsed the ticket for full refund and the original document as well as scanned versions of it were sent to Makemytrip. Till now (three months after the documents were sent) makemytrip has not arranged for the refund. Moreover, their customer service personnel give misleading information and often just don't answer. I sent repeated emails to their management team as well to no avail.
I have booked a flight ticket throgh Make my trip on 29th May 2010. from chennai to kolkata and the Make my trip IDis: FLT000016233770. Inadvertantly the payment was made TWICE. through Internet banking. After going through the bank statement after somedays I came to know that the payment for the ticket as made twice . Thereafter by June 15th I have given the details to Make my trip. They wanted a statement from the bank showing the details. Till now I am getting only the automated reply that I will be hearing from them within 24 hours. So many 24 hours passed. until now they have not remitted back the money due to me. I recently purchased tickets for Emirates Airlines via makemytrip.com online for 1200 dollars. Unfortunately I was not able to go on my trip so I made sure to let the airlines and makemytrip.com know this. I was sick at the hospital with a doctors note and hospitalization documents. Makemytrip.com charged me 650 dollars to change my date from the 19th of December to the 23rd of December. I was not able to travel on the 23rd again due to my sickness, now that I desire to change my date they are charging me again; this time more than 650 dollars. I am unhappy that I was charged a penalty fee for changing the date of my trip even though I am entitled to a fee waver due to my sickness and hospitalization. If I provide a doctors notice I should not have to pay a fee to change the date of my flight. I am not concerned about the first payment, however, I cannot afford to pay for the second one. I believe it is unfair for me to pay the second payment and would appreciate it if it was waved considering the fact that I was hospitalized and do have official documentation and a doctors notice. I can fax my official documents for proof and review. Thank you for considering my complaint.

As per your company has to deduct Rs. 2, 740/- X 2 = Rs. 5, 480/- but the amount deducted from my account is Rs. 2, 740/- X 3 = Rs. 8, 220/-. Rs. 2, 740/- has been deducted extra from my SBI debit account no.[protected]. Your company has to return the said amount to me, therefore inform me about the matter at the earliest on my mobile no. [protected] and my email ID is Nimai_Singh@yahoo.Com. Xerox copy of my bank statement is attached herewith. Do needful at the earliest.

They seem to be frauds and it seems that they are running an internet scam to collect personal information! They confirmed tickets, took credit card numbers and passport/drivers license information and finally not issuing the tickets. It is already more than 36 hours since I gave them all information. Every time I call them they say that the tickets are confirmed and they are going to be issued in an hour or so. Finally when I pressed more the last representative said that the ticket cannot be issued and they are working on it.
In the mean time I had cancelled the other tickets which I bought elsewhere. So I already lost money on the other tickets and now I have my personal information with some fraud artists. I am scared that they will misuse the information and plan to take legal recourse against them. Anybody else has similar experience with makemytrip?

Same day at evening around 6 to 7pm .I have got message & a call that my bus has been cancelled due to technical reasons.
After that I called at your call center at 7pm same day & I asked him to arrange any other alternate arrangement for same . but he was not able to arrange other alternate & suggest me that please arrange yourself & I m processing full refund to you and it will credited in your account with in 7 days.
After that when I checked my account on 30th may, I found that amount not credited yet. Then I call again to your call center for same then I talk with floor supervisor Ms. Nupur Singh, she says that we have still not received any confirmation from vendor.
She says that Until or unless I will not received any confirmation your refund will not process. after long discussion finally she says that you got refund credited in your account till 4th June.
But still I have not received the same. And I called again at call center today(8th June). I have word with Dalpreet, & Ajas Ali. I requested both of them that please Connect me talk to Nupur. No one ready to do . I don’t know Why?

I booked my trip to india 3 months well in advance and I got it done by calling makemytrip customer care center . I have to go via Newark(8:30pm) to New Delhi . On the day of travel when I reached airport, I was handed over a boarding pass of the flight that had a scheduled departure at 5:20 PM 3+ hours later then my actual flight, when enquiring about it I was told that flight does not exist anymore . My complain is I was not intimated my makemytrip of the flight cancellation, if that would have been informed of that I would have made other arrangments to get going with my old schedule or readjest the old reservation .
I have now to bear inconvinience of waiting and makeing an 2 stop journey in a journey haveing 12 extra hour and having to incurr losses for not making it to old reservations and re doing the new once . because of this my entire travel has became a traumatic.
I had purchased a paper ticke online for travel from Bangalore to Delhi on April 9, 2017. As per the details in the website it was to be delivered in 3 business days.
I called them on April 2, 2017 to know the status and the answer was that the Airway Bill number is not available, we will call and give it you in the next 2 hours. There was no call through out the day . Called them again at 10.45am on April 3, 2017 . They told me systems are down for an hour, please call again at 11.30am.
Called up again at 11.35am and was told sorry for the inconvenience, this issue has been escalated to the concerned department . After a lot argument, they told me that the ticket had not been dispatched. I asked them to fax the ticket to me, they said that is not possible. My question was in case it is not delivered before the travel date what happens. The person said we will send a runner to the airport. On insisting that I need to talk to your manager, I was put on hold for 15mins after which the Manager says he will comeback in an hour. After an hour I get a call from them and the lady gives me the Airway bill number, saying that it has been dispatched today however it will be updated in the website by the evening. Even today after a day the Airway bill number is not updated. This is very very frustrating to have to wait for a ticket so long .

We arrived at the airport at the kingfisher counter at the Goa airport for our CONFIRMED return flight, only to be told our tickets had been VOIDED, on the 28th of March itself, BY MAKEMYTRIP .
I called their toll free line from my mobile from the airport and was on hold for 8 precious minutes before I managed to speak to a Mr Nitin, who was unable to help us and put us on hold for over 10 minutes. I called twice more and spoke to Ms Navpreet and then Mr Rohit. who were neither apologetic nor helpful. They all promised to call us back. They did not.
Eventually finding myself and my family stranded at Dabolim Airport with no other way home, I was forced to purchase 6 tickets on Go Air.
FOR 29 HOURS POST MY CALLS... NO RESPONSE... I called again and spoke to a Miss Anchita who connected me to a Mr Bhaskar who said that he will call back in an hour.. for 3 hours no response.. when they did call i was out of the room and they called only once...
I wait a whole day and send a complaint by mail.
A Mr. Gursimran calls me and says that they did try to contact me
ONCE...
A Mr. Balaji calls later the same evening 6th of April to offer me Rs. 2017/- as compensation.
If I was angry before..Now I am thoroughly insulted by the rudeness and audacity of your executive.
We set a time of 11 AM on the 7th of April for YET another senior executive to call.. it is now 3.30 PM!
Since my time, my complaint, my issues are of no value in your eyes I have been compelled to take this matter to the following people

I have a very bitter experience with makemytrip and I would like to share it with everyone so that they won’t get into the trap. I booked a return ticket between Boston USA and Chennai India on specific dates. I was fully aware that those tickets were non-refundable and I could just change the dates if I want by paying additional charges. Then after a couple of months, I decided to change my dates of travel and called the customer care no of Makemytrip and asked to change the dates. After holding me for a long time, the executive came back and said there were no flights available for the return date but i could change the date for the onward journey. Then I told him that I was ready to go ahead with onward journey and I would make my own arrangements for my return journey and asked him to re-schedule the date of my onward journey. Once again he out the call on hold for about 15 mins and came back saying Makemytrip would provide full refund for the booking even though it was a non-refundable ticket and asked me to go ahead with a fresh booking (with a different airline) through them.
I was bit happy that I would not lose my money and made a fresh booking for my new dates and asked them to cancel the older booking. After that I did not hear anything from them for more than week. Then I called them again and to my surprise I was told that my old booking was non-refundable if I cancel it. I have explained the whole story to the guy and at last he said that he would like to confirm that I was offered a full-refund by listening to the audio recordings and then would get back to me. I agreed to that and I was expecting a reply from Makemytrip. But as usual, they didn’t turn up. So I called them again after a week, and once again explained everything to the new guy who answered my call. At last he agreed to process my refund request and sent me instructions on how to apply for a refund.
I was bit relieved and submitted all the required documents to them to proceed with my refund request. Even after that I didn’t hear anything from them. So once again I called them and asked for the refund status. Now, whenever I call, they have a standard answer "We will let you know the status in another 48 hours". And I have been calling them for the past one month in vain.
I had booked an air ticket from mumbai to banglore on kingfisher airlines via makemytrip.com(MakeMyTrip Booking ID - NF251171979074), Due to some reason I cancelled my ticket (Cancellation Number - IN1012R0026689). Makemytrip prmised me that the amount will get refunded within 7 days. After 10 days I wrote a mail to them as the money was not refunded yet. I was given a Reference ID [protected], but nothing was done after that.
Again I wrote mails regarding the issue (Reference ID [protected] ) but nothing happened.
I'm very much disappointed with this, and I'm requesting the people not to book their tickets through makymytrip, instead we should book directly through airline official websites.
I am been fooled by Make my trip people as i have purchased Kerala package and also made full payment, since then they aren't providing me Vouchers and other details as discussed over the phone.

I booked a roundtrip ticket from Orlando, US to Chennai, India through MakeMyTrip for travel on May 17th 2017 for $1425. My onward journey was a three-leg flight of which the first part from Orlando to Newark was delayed for 5 hours making me miss my connecting flight. When I called up MakeMyTrip they asked me to go on to Newark to see if my second flight was also delayed and I did the same. My connecting flight was on time and so I missed it and when I called up MakeMyTrip they said they can book a new flight for me and cancel the old ticket. They asked me to pay for the new ticket and that the old ticket cost will be reimbursed so I ended up paying $1650 ($225 more than the original amount) for the new ticket. To this day, 8 months later, I haven't received a refund for the original ticket. I have contacted MakeMyTrip over 30 times but never given correct information.
Finally on Sept 7th they sent me an email saying that they were going to reimburse me only $898 for the ticket and when I said that was unacceptable, I did not get any more replies from MakeMyTrip. Later I sent three legal notices to MakeMyTrip, US via registered post but did not receive any reply for the same as well.
A $898 refund for a $1425 ticket that I did not use is unacceptable. Do let me know if you did figure a way out of this issue.

This is regarding a little trouble that I am facing with Make My Trip. This is in reference with my booking ID: IN0804B04207. I had booked two return tickets on Deccan Airways for Delhi to Leh (2 May) and From Leh to Delhi in Deccan Airways (5th May) through makemytrip. Our return flight got canceled and hence I had to cancel my ticket. I was informed at the Airport that makemytrip would be refunding the cancellation money to me. After I returned, on 6th May, I spoke to makemytrip representative Swati Babbar, who gave me a landline number, to put in my request for refund. I tried that number for one week but no one answered the call, I believe that is number which is given to the customer just to fool around. On 10th May, I traveled all the way to their Gurgaon office where the receptionist introduced to an executive Gayatri, who again had no answer for me and I was returned saying someone would get in touch with me in next one hour. In fact when I told the receptionist that nobody was taking call on that number given to me, she was not shocked, it seemed that she was aware that no body answers that number. Till 16th May, nobody from Make My Trip contacted me for the same, I then tried calling the number through which you can book ticket with Makemytrip where I explained my problem to one of their executive and he then informed that our refund would reach us in next 10 days. Its more than 15 days now and we have not yet received any communication from their end to inform what the update on the same is.
With this experience, I have realized that makemytrip.com do not have a strong process in place for refunds and they have no resource for consumer redressal, I think they need to take a stalk of the things immediately and work accordingly to improve the process. I would like to request if you could help me out as I have failed to get any answer from them.

I booked a Igloo nature resort for the dates oct 01, 2008 to oct 03, 2008.
Makemytrip.com sends me a voucher with the booking status "Confirmed". Before 6 days of my journey [ actually today ], I called the Igloo resort people and asked for the status they said the rooms are not available with their own resort and they can arrange for some other resort.
When I call the makemytrip.com they said the hotel room is booked and I don't need to worry on that. But after some time the manager from Igloo Nature resort called me and said there is no room is available on oct 02, so I need to stay in a another hotel.
But still makemytrip.com customer care is telling that my room is booked, if I cancel the room now they will take one night amount for this.
I can give the booking id which i have done with makemytrip.com if anybody think this is a fake.

Recently I am having worst ever airline booking experience with makemy trip. On Jul 11 I talked to some agent (probably based in India) for a booking from Los Angeles to Bangalore between 24-26 Jul dep. They booked it taking my credit card details for 4 seats. Within 10 mts based on the iternarary on checkmytrip, based on their reservation no. I found that teh dep date was jul23, impossible for us ti leave due to a meeting in Los Angeles. I called immediately (10 minutes aft. 'booking') and told them not to go ahed with this booking nor go ahead with charging. They had not yet charged and they agreed for that. Also they told me that they will send an e-mail requesting for my photo ID etc. in an e-mail to go ahead. I told them that I will call back in few hours if I want to go ahead with this booking. Later I called my credit card company to make sure they had not charged and informed them about this episode. There was no charge then, and they made a note regarding that. I thought the matter was over. This was on friday Jul 11, 08.
On Monday Jul 16, there was a phone message regarding some payment from makemytrip! On calling, I found that they have gone ahead and charged my credit card for 4 tickets on the date which is not possible for me to travel! And will charge penalty for cancellation/change ($200/head=800$ US). I told them what happened! The guy customer service guy was very rude and told me that indeed I have authorised them to charge as I didn't call back!
I am still dealing with this case! Many hours of phone calls/chats they have same song, since I didn't call them again they went ahead and charged teh wrong date departure!
I am contemplating some legal action for thi skind of illegal activities by makemytrip.com. Being in USA for 20 years I am shocked to know the kind of crudality and lack of respect for customers by this kind of company In India. And the assumption that they can take customers for a ride causing them thosounds of dollors of loss to make some commissions!

unauthorised cancellation of tickets
I have booked air tickets for 4 persons (self, my wife and my parents) to go to Tirupati from Vizag. All the tickets were confirmed and fare collected by Makemytrip. To my surprise when we check-in on 20/04/08 at Vizag Airport, Deccan Airways informed that the booking is there for only for 3 persons. On further check by airlines, based on the printout I have, they found that my mother's booking has been cancelled by someone from Makemytrip. I called Makemytrip Delhi; after a lot of time to get thro'' the (useless) interactive voice system, I got their representative ( MrMicheal) who is of no help except keeping me for 45 minutes on telephone for giving some excuse that two names found same hence one seat was cancelled. They did even check with me before doing this not informed me. This is the height if stupidity ( my mother's name is Lakshmi and my wife's name is Vijaya Lakshmi hence one get cancelled ?) and I had to drop my wife as the flight was full and could not buy a ticket even to get a seat for her. As this being a family pilgrimage trip, traveling with old parents, I had to do this. This had created lot of rift and misunderstanding which I am suffering due to the fault of Makemytrip who are irresponsible & callous. Beware of these people. On top this there is no communication from these characters and my 4th ticket airfare is still not returned.( which of-course does no patch-up what these people have done to me).
It’s a night mare and think a while when you deal with Makemytrip. I do not how and why these people are allowed to do business and how I redress my anguish.
